This course is completely misrepresented. It is meant to be a 3 day course. Impossible!!!!! I attended a 3 day course which only involves you listening to tutors for the full 3 days and not performing any tasks for the assessment, after which you need to complete a barrage of modules at home by yourself which take a very long time to complete,… Read more
are difficult, complex, and very involved. The assessors take their sweet time in assessing the modules and they are very pedantic and completely ridiculous. There is absolutely no margin for error and you need a 100 % pass to get through. You will keep getting 'unsuccessful' attempts thrown back at you time after time. I have even had a real estate agent of 20 years assisting me and my assessments are still coming back wrong. I have just lost a job opportunity because I did not get my certificate in time. I opted for the 3 day course so I could be qualified quickly and I expected to continue to learn as I go - on the job, it is impossible to learn all the expected information in such a short time for anyone. My relative done a different 3 day course at the same time and has already secured a job with his qualification - he received his certificate on the third day. With the REIQ course, none of the modules are completed in class at all. I would be happy to receive a refund and go do the other course. Advertising as a 3 day course is completely misrepresented.
I recently was " conned " by a favoured and REIQ trained agent into buying a property that was misrepresented. Wrong address, 1 bed but advertised as 2 and not disclosing a form on the contract. Within 12 hours of signing, I terminated my offer but the seller is now suing me with the full support of the dishonest REIQ trained agency. I called the… Read more
REIQ and asked them to explain how this could happen. Recived an email stating " nothing we can do ". I just want others to be aware that the REIQ in my case has enabled unethical practice in this agency and that an REIQ trained agency can still be dishonest and have lack of intergrity. Is this what REIQ train ? Where are these agents learning these manipulative, dishonest tactics? My response came from [Name Removed]. I spoke with [Name Removed].

I recently completed a course with REIQ, and I am beyond impressed with both the quality of the program and the support provided by their incredible team. From start to finish, the course was structured in a way that made complex concepts easy to understand and apply in real-world situations. which gave me confidence in the knowledge I gained.
What truly stood out was the team at REIQ. They were always available to provide guidance, answer questions, and ensure that I felt supported throughout the learning journey. Their professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for their students made the entire experience even more valuable.
If you're looking to enhance your skills and take your career to the next level, I highly recommend REIQ. Their commitment to excellence and dedication to helping students succeed is unmatched. Thank you, REIQ, for such an amazing learning experience!
Education and Straightforward – I initially tried enrolling with a cheaper company to complete my registration course, but I found the platform difficult to navigate, and the resources were hard to access. The website was far from user-friendly, making the whole process frustrating. Switching to REIQ was a game-changer. The course platform is intuitive, making it easy to follow… Read more · 1
the material. The content is well-structured, educational, and truly engaging. What stood out most was the quality of feedback – the teachers graded my work quickly and provided useful, actionable insights to help me improve.
As Queensland's peak body for real estate, REIQ offers excellent value for money. I highly recommend enrolling in their courses for anyone looking to enter the industry.
Exceptional Trainers & Brilliant Training Material – I recently completed my full real estate licence with the REIQ (after completing my real estate certificate over a decade ago) and it was delivered in an easy to follow, comprehensive training materials backed by some of the best real estate trainers in the state (if not australia). Whilst the course content was easy to digest and the online… Read more · 1
delivery was exceptional, the course wasn’t easy. There was some more in depth content which required some one-on-one tutoring and the helpful and knowledgeable team was on hand to assist.
If you’re not sure to invest in the quality training from Queensland’s Peak Industry Body know that this training will help you hit the ground running, be more knowledgeable and understand the process to assist you succeed in the challenging but rewarding world of realestate.
Invest in yourself with training from the REIQ, you’ll be glad you did.
100% Recommend for Real Estate Training – Studying the registration course with The REIQ was the best experience! The content was engaging and the workbooks were really well set out and visually appealing. The learning portal was extremely easy to navigate and the process of uploading and submitting assessments was seamless. And of course, the training team were FANTASTIC. They were so… Read more · 1
helpful and always happy to assist. I could not have had a better experience and I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. :)
Terrible experience – I regret to say that my experience with the REIQ Real Estate Course was highly disappointing. I was eager to learn and complete the course, but it proved to be nearly impossible to finish. My assessments were frequently marked as incorrect, even after seeking assistance from a real estate agency where agents with over 30 years of experience helped… Read more
me. It’s perplexing that such seasoned professionals couldn’t guide me through the course correctly, which indicates that the course content might be unreasonably challenging or unclear.
Additionally, I faced issues accessing the necessary forms to complete the course. Considering the high cost, the course felt like a significant waste of time and money. Instead of encouraging people to enter the real estate profession, this course seems to create unnecessary barriers. Learning should be an accessible and supportive process, not an ordeal.
Online registration course – I chose to do the REIQ Registration Course online as I am a fast learner and believed that I could complete this quickly in my own time. I did. However, REIQ's marking process took weeks to multiple weeks to mark. Once marked, I received terrible and seemingly condescending comments about my answers, with little help to retry the question and… Read more
answer correctly. A great example of REIQ's failure of marking was in one of my answers I quoted Victoria Thomson, the Queensland Fair Trading Commissioner. My results back 'The REIQ is Queensland based and does not operate in Victoria.' How asinine. And this is one example of many. I was given advice to use other RTO's registration courses, being cheaper and more condensed, and I should've listened. As an industry body, the REIQ has a responsibility to provide quality training but fails on many levels.

overpriced and under delivered – I wholeheartedly agree with all of the 1-star reviews listed here, I just wish I had researched REIQ before paying the excessive price of $990-there is absolutely no value here as other companies that offer the same course but with better structure (you can actually go back and review your submitted work and not have it deleted from the system… Read more
once a "trainer" reviews it) and pricing.
The comments from the staff come across as rude and condescending and some with absolutely no direction at all!! Any reasonable person will take note of the 1-star reviews and inquire with other suitable companies that are currently charging approx 1/4, That right only 25% of what REIQ is charging.
If you do decide that you would like a refund from REIQ after you realize that you are not getting what you have paid for and that you feel they are in breach of Australian consumer law, well good luck with that as you will virtually have to take them to small claims court for any positive outcome. It should have raised alarm bells when I rang up and the people I spoke to about the course hadn't even completed or attempted the course, but yet these people are there to answer your questions in relation to the course!

Great course with excellent assistance – Doing by correspondence and course is well laid out with excellent support from the team at the REIQ. When I need assistance, I book a 20-minute phone call and they ring to tutor me when I'm stuck on certain questions or assignments. Have completed other Real-estate courses and this is the best by far.
REIQ IS THE BEST! – A big thank you to REIQ team for their professionalism I just completed my Full Real Estate license with REIQ and I am ever so grateful for their kindness, passion, commitment and understanding they showed me They gave me the best support throughout my course They are all fantastic trainers, especially Jeff Irvine Head of Training, Trudi… Read more · 1

Great Course and Great Facilitators – I have completed my full licence with REIQ and I was extremely happy with the course. It was informative, provided the necessary skills and knowledge, and was easy to navigate. Yes, there are mistakes in the course content, and even some ambiguity. However, a bit of common sense helped to overcome these concerns and I had no need to call on the… Read more · 1
REIQ course facilitators for any clarification along the way. I might dd that I have 2 degrees and when undertaking these it was also common to find errors in course content, etc. It sucks but in life you have to sometimes work things out the hard way, you will learn more that way.
REIQ Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice – Sadly, I wholeheartedly agree with all of the bad reviews on this site about the REIQ course. I have just completed the course (11/3/22) and also thought it was bad, poorly set out, hard to navigate, errors in the questions (which I pointed out to Rachael and she agreed with), assessments unrelated to the course materials provided, and there are… Read more
spelling and grammatical errors in the course material as pointed out by others. At the end, I asked if we had access to the course notes to refer back to later when we're working in the field. I was told no and that we would not get an electronic copy of the course notes either. Apparently students take screen shots of the course notes. I find that pathetic. I paid $990 for this course but don't even get to keep any course notes unless I take screen shots of the pages. That's a first! Other providers give you an electronic copy of their course notes.
I also agree with others that some of the questions are stupidly easy, but they are very pedantic about their marking. There is a 100% pass rate. One of my assessments required resubmission because I wrote the words "Division 3" in front of the correct section number of the Tenancy Agreement (as written in the agreement). Their reason it was marked incorrect was because they asked for "the section number" so the entire assessment was marked as unsatisfactory until I deleted the words "Division 3" proceeding the section number, even though I had given the correct section number in the answer.
I have completed my fair share of courses in my time (BEng, MEng, PhD, 2 Grad Cert in Business) so I've seen the structure and presentation of what courses should be. Like someone else said, this is by far the worse course I have ever done as well. There is no contents page or index so finding what you need quickly is virtually impossible. There are 4 learning modules which are poorly titled, so it isn't always intuitive which module you even need to look at. For example, there is an entire assessment about Trust Funds but no learning module about Trust Funds and none of the learning modules appeared relavant to trust funds. After 45 frustrating minutes of trying to find anything at all about trust funds in the course materials, I ended up having to scan through the modules page by page, until I found a small uninformative paragraph about it on page 9 of 81 which just directed us to the AFA Act which I then had to scroll through to find the answers. I ended up just googling what I needed for the assessment because I couldn't find anything relevant in the course materials about the questions they were asking in the assessment.
I also disagreed with several of the answers. When I asked the instructor for evidence of one answer in the Act, she couldn't give it because it doesn't specifically say what she was claiming. There are also mistakes in the learning module activities too which I pointed out to the instructor (she agreed about ensuring your marketing in newspapers and online marketing is done a lot earlier than the day before an open). I also pointed out the same question to the instructors as SKM mentioned, so they clearly didn't fix it after it was brought to their attention earlier.
Also, day 2 of the face to face learning was a complete waste of time. He spent most of the day giving us the answers to the activities about compliance. I could have done that myself. Malcolm O'Reily on the other hand was really good.
I really expected a lot better form an organisation which calls themselves the "Real Estate Institute of Queensland". I definitely recommend looking around at other providers than going with REIQ sadly.

Embarrassingly bad. Stay away from this course – Some of the questions are non-sensical. The lack of grammar, inconsistent use of terms and poor spelling make many of the questions difficult to read, let alone answer. In the last module I've had to answer some of questions with 'the question doesn't make sense' just so I can (hopefully) get one of the instructors to grade the assessment and… Read more
(hopefully) add an explanation of the question. I've spent more time trying to figure out what they are asking than I have learning anything. $1,800 down the drain as I am now looking to do the course with another training provider.

Most confusing, unachievable course – Absolutely horrible format, the questions aren't worded correctly, it's confusing as all heck. All my qualified real estate agent friends couldn't even figure out what the questions meant and what the answers could be. The original course took my friends 3 weeks to complete and this new format is taking us all 6 months to do and that isn't even… Read more
long enough. There is barely any support, it's especially confusing for people with ADD. I'm most likely not going to finish in time and there is no option to be able to extend it. So there goes my $900. I swear they have changed it like this on purpose, knowing most people won't be able to pass and the company get to keep the money regardless. Every person I've spoken to, even with the highest of IQ'S are frustrated with the course. Do not bother with reiq, it's ridiculous.

This is the worst education experience I've ever had – My primary school education was more effective than this - cudos to my prep teachers who taught me more than this course. It is extremely over complicated, and not to mention our dated. Assessment questions are often unrelated to the course content, and the markers/lecturers are completely unknowledgable to the actual course curriculum. It is an… Read more
amateur school with evidently untrained teachers.
Any "example" given for assessment is not actually an example, rather a meandering amalgamation of pointless chit chat that does not bear any resemblance to the task given - for example: "make a 10 minute video" on a listing appointment - the example given is a completely unrelated, 45 minute video of two old women bickering. You cannot skip the video at all and there is no timestamp given, so you are forced to suffer. Why they would choose such a pointless platform is unknown to me - YouTube is free and videos are just as private (anyone can view these terrible examples with a link).
Finally, there is no mac support (which they lie about), and the markers have no idea what they're doing. This is a common sense industry and the markers or "curriculum" directors clearly lack this. Absolutely pathetic and a waste of time and money. I have never been so frustrated by a course, the content is stupidly easy but the platform and method of delivery is so ridiculously garbage. Avoid at all costs.
beware of dishonest reiq members – i unfortunately signed an reiq contract with a member agent to handle the rental of my house while i went overseas they did not lodge a bond or get a signed condition report ,house got trashed ,i could not prove who the tenants were .i complained to the reiq who tried to say he was not a member at the time it was on his business card and his… Read more

Rubbish – Hard to navigate, errors everywhere. Questions can be vague, once that question is marked the assessor comment is basically asking a new question or asking the question how it should have been in the first place. Massive time wasting there. The pettiest things are raised for resubmission/re-answering I swear for the sake of being difficult. Avoid this provider. If those little things matter they should be taught in the module.
Worst Training I have ever received – 1 - It has taken them a month to mark my work 2 - Once marked, every single module came back for reassessment 3 - I have had real estate agents and homeowners look over my answers and all of them they believe were sufficiently answered with the material given 4 - I also study a Bachelor of Property Economics and the course material is criminally… Read more
outdated. 5 - The markers don't even know what they want in a question, often completely contradicting themselves from one reassessment to the next.
Horrible training course provider – REIQ make this course harder that what it needs to be. There are so many errors in material and question that getting a question right is pure luck. Dates used in case studies are 2 years apart. Infomation on legislation is incorrect. Very hard course to navigate. Marking of assessments takes over 2 weeks. Avoid this one.
Absolutely appalling – I’ve signed up for the REIQ registration certificate and have been studying/completing the modules over and over again for months. The course and learning material is so poorly designed to navigate around, The correspondence is 2 weeks late, While the answers are correct they’re asking for irrelevant answers to questions etc Some of the learning… Read more

Great course, excellent trainer – I recently attended the REIQ classroom course in Townsville and loved it! - The content was well organised into six booklets over three modules. He was very passionate, had a great sense of humour but was highly professional and gave us many ideas stepping out as rookies. Before going to this class I had no idea about real estate, walking out I feel confident that I have the tools for success. I would highly recommend the classroom course over online!
Buyers Remorse!!! - REIQ - What a nightmare! – I have been in the Property Industry for over 15 years and decided it was time to complete the Full Licence course. questions - So when you undoubtable have to resubmit a question or 5, you have to read the question pretending you are still in preschool to get what they actually want.
- You can't advertise REIQ products and services or your partners products and services in educational material...What makes this money, is there is a whole section about Ethics in this course.
- You will literally find pages that are exactly the same (word for word) all across the booklets, mixed in where they shouldn't be...Maybe someone should read the material and the coursework before they mark it.
- I cannot answer questions correctly that are in relation to future questions.... How can you answer questions based on what you haven't read yet. Do you want us to start at the back and work our way forwards?
- No one uses facsimiles.....really, couldn't be bothered to just update some material?
- The "professionals" that mark the coursework... Would be great if you at least try to do your job as educators. Yes, I understand that this course is something that is forced on people to do by the Government, and Yes I understand that you and your boss's at REIQ must feel terrible that you literally have to do nothing to make money because some mate of a mate in politics put some very specific bureaucracy around the industry, and Yes your cert IV in workplace training must of been really hard..... But please don't take it out on us... We are just trying to do the bare minimum like you. But in all seriousness, someone please audit these people.
Just a Joke – I have been an agent for over 10 years and my wife decided to do a training course to become a real estate sales person. Unfortunately, I suggested we use REIQ.
