Noosaville, sold 2016 house, Noosaville 2021 resort unit SOLD – I found the experience to be great. I received help from Rick, the owner. I could arrange inspections when it suited both myself and clients. Also i had some opens. I sold both through open inspections, on a Sunday. You have little to lose to try. All it cost me was $400. I did my own photos, though not as good as professional ones. Don't knock it till you try, may not suit some people, I loved it. Suzie, Noosaville, Qld.

Did not work properly: AVOID AVOID AVOID – I advertised my property through realprivate.com.au but the system they use to forward enquiries made on realestate.com.au to the owner of the property did not work so it was a pointless and ultimately expensive exercise in using them. Their support is terrible. Impossible to speak to anyone working for the company and emails from the support team were surly and I helpful. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Missing ads, very long tenant application form, no way to change it to your own form – I ordered a rental ad with a tenant check. There is no way do the tenant check. They say that they support realestate.com.au, domain.com.au and a bunch of others. But my ad did not appear on domain.com.au, onthehouse, allhomes. No response from customer support.

Selling this way a breeze – Having sold a few properties privately in the past this was just so easy and at such low cost for maximum exposure. Loading pics and pictures was a breeze, changing text or adding open home times was a walk in the park, also found the Real Private and the 24/7 call centre so efficient. So all in all using this medium to sell a property and save a wad of cash is highly recommended.

Some selling real estate criteria to follow:

a) Take clear pictures and add a floor plan if possible

b) See what others have written for online adverts for ideas

c) Make sure the property is clean and tidy.

d) Have property uncluttered or put items in garage to make it so

e) Have open homes for an hour or more 10am to noon is good

f) Give viewers time to look then point out the properties best features

g) Provide viewers with a colour flyer of the property

h) Have a form ready for their info, conveyancer details etc.

i) Once offer accepted send all details to your conveyancer to prepare a legal property sale contract

j) Never accept a deposit directly leave it until contract time

inspection times that I put in, for some reason they didn't show up on the advertisement even though it indicated online that it was successful. I only found out about it several days after when a prospective tenant enquiry asked me if there was going to be any open inspection times. This prompted me to go into realestate.com.au - no open times. Another call to sort it out. The person that made the enquiry didn't turn up at the open times that were finally put into the system. Then I discovered that if you want to change your open times on the weekend, you can't as you have to wait for approval during office hours, Mon-Frid and then it takes 24hrs to show up. Found this out with another phone call from me to realprivate. I didn't have many enquiries from the advertisement, had more from Gumtree (free). I had a couple of people asking why the contact number was in Victoria when the property is in Adelaide, which one person said they found that very suspicious. I was also disappointed that the advertisement does not list it on the Domain website only RealEstate.com.au . I have a tenant moving in end of this week (from the Gumtree add) I logged onto the site to withdraw the advertisement. I selected the radio button to withdraw, that didn't work, I selected the radio button for leased, but that didn't work. I contacted realprivate and I am now waiting on a return phone call to sort this issue out as well. Not at all happy with the online service this time.

calmed by the professional advice from RealPrivate so made the decision to go with them – you seriously MUST be on realestate.com.au – at one home open we had eight families through!!

We found the system very easy to use from the start and when we needed to make changes to photos, open times or how we stated our price, the system was very easy and intuitive to use – great system. As an amateur photographer I did our own photos, though it might pay to get a real estate professional photographer to do the job- -small change for what buyers perceive as typical photos – just an observation.

The standard advice is good advice, do some homework on your property and neighbourhood, make some comparisons with similar homes. Preparation for home opens is important, make it clean, neat and if you can, reduce some clutter. Get a good experienced settlement agent and you’re on your way to “house sold.”

Would Definitely Use Again – Most amazing customer service! Have been stung twice with other private rental businesses but after coming across Real Private I couldn't be more happy with their customer service and prompt resolutions every time. Disappointing – This service is disappointing as it is extremely limited. It doesn't provide any business analytics - there is no way of seeing how many people viewed or saved your ad, how many times your ad comes up on search results etc. The ad is also not a premium ad on realestate.com.au, which means your ad never appears earlier than pages 4-5 on the site.… Read more

This is undesirable as buyers commonly believe that by houses after pages 3 are old stock, so your advertisement never gets viewed. Waste of money. There are other free sites that I have used and obtained way better results.

Poor communication and taking forever to upload ny rental listing. want a refund! – I provided all the proof of ownership and authority requested before they can complete my listing. That was 3 days ago and after emails sent asking what is going on, no reply. I have no contact no for them either, if anyone can point me to that would appreciate it!

Great Service – The process of listing on here was made easy by the staff getting back to me quickly and answering any queries or concerns I had. They worked with me as required through the sales process and I would recommend to anyone wanting to use this service.

Well worth it if you have a private rental! – Gumtree wasn't getting us the tenants or responses we desired. We used Real Private to put an ad to lease and have received quality tenants and 3 applications in now. (We also used it to advertise open for inspection which worked too). Definitely recommend, we paid the extra to have the phone number included which I would use (messaging service so people can call to enquire).

EXCELLENT!!! – Excellent service provided by Rick. His fast responses made the task a lot easier. A great cost saving not having to use an estate agent. Highly recommended.

Saved Thousands – Real Private saved me thousands in real estate fees. Very easy to set up and sold the house in 10 days. All the people who went through the house said it's so much better to talk directly with the owner than a agent. Would never sell any other way. Purchased the call center which helped so much they forwarded on all information via email and gave contact number and name. Also for sale sign helped identify the property.

I've been telling everybody about this site, and just about every one of my friends with a property to rent or sell has listed with it. They're really the best thing to happen to real estate in Australia since the world went digital.

Great exposure of my property – The exposure online this service provided was amazing. I have leased properties before and never have had such a large amount of interest from prospective tenants and as a result received many applications and have leased my property within a week .
