Redsbaby ONIX Pram

We recently purchased a Redsbaby Onyx and have been really impressed overall. The pram feels premium and sturdy while still being easy to manoeuvre, even one-handed. It looks absolutely beautiful in the taupe colour and gets compliments everywhere we go. The seat and bassinet are both comfortable and stylish, and the suspension makes walks much… Read more
smoother for bub.
The storage basket underneath is a great size for everyday use, although we have noticed it can get stuck a little when the seat is forward-facing. It can also be a bit hard to collapse while it’s still brand new and stiff, and we’ve found we need to remove the pram caddy and cup holder each time before folding it down, which can be a little inconvenient.
That said, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design and practicality for parents, and overall we are really happy with it. A beautiful, functional pram that feels very high quality.
I’m extremely disappointed with my Onix Redsbaby pram. For a product that costs over $1,000, I expected premium quality and reliability. Unfortunately, this pram has been defective since day one. The folding mechanism does not function properly — it constantly gets stuck and often requires excessive force to close. This is incredibly… Read more
frustrating, especially when you’re out and need to fold it quickly. In addition, the handlebar wobbles, which makes the pram feel unstable and poorly constructed.
What has been even more disappointing is the lack of accountability from Redsbaby in resolving these issues. Despite raising the concerns, there has been no satisfactory solution offered, and the problems remain unresolved. For a brand positioned as premium, I expected better after-sales support and responsibility for a product that was faulty from the start.
At this price point, this level of quality and customer service is unacceptable. I would not recommend this model based on my experience.

We are super happy with our Redsbaby Onix. Folds down all one handed, Easy and stress free. In comparison to top market brands this is a wonderful choice for a lot smaller price!! Large under basket. Convenient and easy storage. We love it! Show details
I’m so glad I went with the Onix pram! It’s super easy to set up and pack down, the basket underneath fits so much, and honestly the price is amazing for what you get.
I’m loving the Onix, this is my 5th baby and I’ve had many different prams over the years…this is by far my favourite. Easy to fold, extendable handle and so smooth to push, I absolutely love it and have recommended it to many friends. Show details

Great lightweight pram. Nice and safe and secure. I have the bassinet as well which I'd very much recommend for the first 6 months to help shelter your bubba from the elements and keep them safe. It is bulky in the car as folding it down just isn't time-effective in real life. But I love my pram and would def recommend. Show details
Love the ONIX, and so does my son! Got the green colourway with the bassinet - he instantly falls asleep in it. Does great on all terrain, we’ve taken it on pavement, dirt, grass, rocks, gravel. Easy to fold away into the car & has a decent sized basket. Very happy with the pram overall! Show details
I love it, light, compact easy fold i cant wait to use it when bub arrives my 5 year old daughter is already calling dibs on pushing bub around Show details
I am more than satisfied with my onix pram. This pram has all the features I've been looking for in a pram. Being a full size single pram, it's compact enough to fit basically anywhere and folds so small, yet large enough to fit a growing baby and toddler both young toddler and older toddler. Its basket is plentiful for space and very easy access… Read more
from both front and back. I absolutely love the lay flat recline on this seat as its truly safe for use from newborn. The canopy is actually huge and extends nearly all the way to protect bub from the sun and what I love is that when tucked back when not in use its compact and is basically flat so it doesnt obstruct bubs vision at all. The handle bar and belly bar features are a very strong, sturdy, thick, luxury feel, and the pram is very easy to manoeuvre over kurbs and differing ground surfaces and so far has kept my toddler comfortable over bumpier terrain. My toddler loves his wide view he gets of the world around him without being so far back in a pram with the angled back, I love how upright this seat goes. I love the light colour option as ive never enjoyed a black pram in Australia's sun. I would recommend the redsbaby onix to anyone amd everyone!

We purchased the Onix pram system (bassinet and seat) to grow with our newborn into toddlerhood. We were ultimately looking for a full sized pram that was stylish, offered storage, compact folding to fit in our small boot space, smooth push and easy fold. I can not believe how EASILY this pram packs down. Albeit it doesn’t fold with the bassinet… Read more
attached. But even while using the bassinet, it simply clicks off and the base folds itself super easily. We’re about to transfer over into the classic seat and are keen to see how it continues to hold up with the easy fold system while reducing even more space in our boot of our car. The wheels are nice and sturdy, and make for a really smooth push and ride.
We scotchguarded our fabric and aired it out and dried it for a few days before use. And it simply wipes clean with a baby wipe. We will continue to touch this up on occasion as needed as it’s kept the fabric clean and without blemish. I do wish there was a washable insert in the taupe colour for the seat but there are plenty of cute ones on the market that will universally fit the Redsbaby prams.
We predominantly use our prams on our short walks around the neighbourhood, nothing crazy terrain wise, but it handles bumpy uneven surfaces quite well. It’s a dream to wheel around the shops and I can do this one handed with bub in the seat, it’s so smooth.
We were after a quick purchase so went with the only in stock colour at the time. The taupe. Although I’d hoped it was more a light beige, it’s closer to a khaki in colour shade. The handle bar and belly bar are black, not the brown leather as traditionally seen in earlier models which I grew to accept. But the fabric feels nice under hand.
The base to the bassinet is thin. We popped a protective sheet and cover over the included one and it plushed it up slightly making it a bit cosier for bub. The padded sides are nice and protective.
Downside is the cup holder, purchased separately. It’s not very sturdy and moves as it hangs on by a small notch so you have to remove it to pack it down each use. Doesn’t offer a permanent solution and I wouldn’t trust a coffee in it hanging over baby either.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for an easy fold, full sized pram, I haven’t seen better on the market and I’ve done my research. For the price point, this definitely checked all our boxes and as a first time Redsbaby customer, I’ve been very pleased so far.
Customer support was also fantastic when I had questions prior to purchasing. Can’t rate them high enough.

Absolutely love the pram. The quick fold is very easy, makes setting up and packing down the pram a breeze. Pram is easy to push and steer, even one handed. Pram is light enough to lift into the car one handed and it only takes up a fraction of the boot. Show details
Follow-up · The recline is super easy and one hand adjustment. Storage basket space I can fit my nappy bag and another grocery bag of shopping, for a compact bag it's quiet good. The canopy coverage is great, it goes down a long way and only my babies feet aren't covered. I also got the sunshade extension as well, with this on the canopy wraps over the foot rest of the pram.
Really happy with this pram. Looks really nice and love that the seats folds with the pram. Fits well in my small boot. My baby fits perfectly and sleeps better than in her bassinet. Most importantly fantastic customer service and support. I had an… Read more
issue and they were so quick to resolve it. Best I’ve had from any company I’ve reached out too. Only issue is sometimes the fold isn’t as smooth as they claim and takes a while to fold correctly and the pram feels less smooth now we have used it for 6 months. Overall would purchase again
Follow-up · The stitching at the back started to come undone so they replaced the chair completely free of cost. She just feels secure in the pram and being able to rock her supports her sleep. The fold can be smooth but I just don’t think it’s as smooth as they make it out to be. Sometimes works perfectly other times the chair needs a bit more of a push to go down.

In-depth reviews
I wanted to love this pram. Unfortunately very shortly (3/4 months after purchase) the cracks started to show. The first thing I noticed from a few weeks was th paint of the frame started to chip off, I was searching what could’ve caused this but I still to this day have no idea as I have a pram now with no such issue and was A LOT cheaper. This… Read more
I wasn’t to concerned about as i had never had a pram and thought maybe that’s what they all did in time. Then when I had the adapters for the capsule on the pram and tried to fold it with one hand I couldn’t do it, and I would have to shake it to get it to fold. Again I wasn’t to concerned by this point but was a little sold on he idea of putting away one handed. 3rd was that they breaks broke… like completely off. At this point I was like… what is going on haha. So obviously I sent an email to them and told them all this stuff. I got a reply in like 3 days! Then it took a few more emails back and forth and I was without a pram for a while (1 weeks maybe more) Then when the new FRAME not pram came I had to put all the stuff back from the old pram to the new pram so all the wheels and th basket and everything… again it was kind of fine but you would think after only 3/4 months of owning this not so cheap pram they would’ve sent a whole new one to make a first time mum’s life easier. THEN the front wheels wouldn’t clip into place and the button stopped working. Hahahah. It’s actually comical how bad this pram was. I hope mine was just a rarity but I actually can’t believe how bad it was. Then trying to get a refund…. I was like you know what just I’ll send it all back but again it took them 4 days to respond and to get a manager to ok a refund. The manager was on holiday so they had to wait a week… it actually took the p*ss. Finally I got a refund after countless times requesting one and already sending back the whole thing. I know have a Joie travel pram that I bought for $350 that is. SOOOOO MUCH BETTER than this model. Fingers crossed that I just had the worst one made and no one else has these issues. If your a new mum and want to spend your money on something good, just go a model that already has had a few kinks worked out… maybe they’ll make an onix 2 with all these issues resolved?
I can honestly say the Redsbaby ONIX has made life with my little one so much easier. From day one I’ve loved how smooth it is to push — it glides effortlessly, even when I’m steering one-handed while juggling coffee in the other. The fold is a dream. I can collapse it in seconds, seat still attached, and get it into the boot without a wrestling… Read more
match (a small miracle when you’re running on no sleep).
The canopy is one of my favourite features — huge coverage with mesh panels for airflow, which has been a lifesaver in the Aussie sun. My baby stays cool and shaded, and I feel much more relaxed knowing she’s protected. The seat is comfy and roomy, and I like that I can have her facing me when she’s little or facing out when she wants to explore.
The basket is generous too — I can fit groceries, nappy bag, and still have room for my toddler’s random treasures. It’s become my secret weapon for quick shopping trips.
If I had to nitpick, it’s not the lightest pram out there, but the sturdiness is worth it. I’d rather have the solid wheels and suspension that can handle uneven footpaths than shave off a kilo or two.
Overall, the ONIX has ticked every box for me: stylish, practical, comfortable for bub, and stress-free for me. I actually look forward to walks now, and that says it all.
I love our onix reds baby pram so much. I had my last baby 7 years ago and have never had a pram that I absolutely love with my older children. Either the fold wasn’t right or there was some other aspect of the pram that I didn’t quite like. Fast forward to our 4th baby and I invested in a reds baby onix after watching videos about it. girl arrived 4 weeks ago and I have been using the onix with the capsule. It is an absolute dream. It is easy to put up and click in the capsule. The handling of the pram is so incredibly smooth and the steering on it feels really nice when pushing, even on gravel. The pack up of the pram is so smooth and easy; it is the quickest pram I’ve ever used to put away (I’ve owned 5 prams in my parenting journey). I really like the buttons that you press individually when folding the pram instead of having to press two at the same time on other brand prams. The basket in the bottom had plenty of storage. I love everything about the pram… I can tell that redsbaby have put so much thought into this pram and designing the pram around making life easier for parents when out and about. When it comes time to use the seat it looks great and I really like that the seat stays attached to the frame during setup and pack up. Can’t recommend the onix enough!
Positive reviews
Such an amazing pram. I have a big expensive pram and will choose to use my onix every time, it’s so compact and so easy to put up and down. I love the feature of the mesh back especially hot summer days. Show details
Definitely a wonderful choice — not only does it look very sophisticated and visually appealing, but it is also very comfortable and practical. Loved this for our babygirl!
We recently got the Redsbaby ONIX pram and honestly love it. It’s super easy to steer and feels really smooth on different surfaces. The fold is quick and fuss-free, which makes life so much easier getting it in and out of the car. The seat is comfy, has good padding, and the different recline options are great as our baby grows. The storage… Read more
basket is bigger than I expected too, which is a bonus.
Overall, it’s a really solid, easy to use pram that looks good and just makes everyday outings a bit easier. Definitely recommend!
Negative reviews
I did so much research before purchasing the Onix, and knew going into it that the brake was not very user friendly. I thought maybe this would just be a minor inconvenience but it has turned into a pretty big deal and I hope that Redsbaby do take this into consideration in future. It’s too stiff of a brake to use with open toed shoes, and, for… Read more
the same reason, your closed toe shoes get scuffed really easily on it as well.
The pram is also not the smoothest ride despite having the larger wheels and being marketed as all terrain. I live in the suburbs and use the pram on footpaths mainly, with the occasional grass or gravel terrain. Even just on the footpath though, the front wheels are constantly getting stuck in very minor bumps and cracks.
Although there is so much I like about the pram (great canopy, small fold, decent sized basket), I would not buy this pram again unless these issues were addressed.
I initially gave this pram a very positive review but after actually using it for a while I feel the need to review again... the bassinet had a few issues but the seat has some major ones... Seat: it is so so low. I have a bad back after using it for just days, it also looks silly and means it's really hard to access anything in the basket. Im… Read more
pretty short and it's still a problem, my partner who is tall hates it. The air mesh is also not in a very thought out position, if you use a liner it's completely useless as the liner covers it.
The basket: way too small and poorly designed, the lip at the front isn't high enough so stuff easily falls out the front. Basket feels much smaller than 10kg.
Bassinet: is too small, baby grew out of it very quickly. The air vent flap is the wrong way up so light comes through the top when closed after a few uses
I do like the harness though and extendable shade.
Very poor service pre-sales. Between paying and shipping was multiple weeks. Would not honour promotional pricing and took multiple weeks even to respond to sales. At that point, do you even care about the product?

I'm thoroughly impressed on a number of factors. The steering and 360 on this is absolutely amazing, easy manoeuvrability, and so smooth! The suspension is good, I haven't really tested on other terrains except tile, linoleum, and road/paths and it works excellently and smoothly on those. The mechanics are pretty self-explanatory and easy to use… Read more
with bassinet and seat being light and easy exchange over, plus the folding/adaptability to folded and open WITH the seat attached is even better, especially for mums with a c-section riding solo. No regrets for cost. Highly recommend.
We love our onix pram! It came quickly, was easy to assemble and it looks great! We love how quick and easy it is to pull out and fold back down. The basket underneath is the perfect size to fit everything we need and don’t have to carry anything extra. Extremely happy with our pram!!
We purchased the redsbaby onix pram in December 2024 and have been very happy with it so far. The only issue we have has is it gives a very bumpy ride for my small baby, maybe as she gets bigger she will have enough weight to stop it from being so bumpy. Even though the pram has suspension she is too light for it to be properly effective. A friend… Read more
of mine suggested air filled there's may help so we're looking in to that. The pram is compact and looks smart, it is super quick and easy to fold and unfold which makes it convenient when going out. Overall it's a great pram for a reasonable price
The Redsbaby ONIX has been the perfect pram for our newborn! After trying out a number of other brands, Redsbaby has proved to be the most ergonomic and practical for our new family. With the addition of the bassinet, it has been a life saver for travelling and has been a recommendation to all our friends and family who are expecting their first child. Show details
We love our onix pram. Our favourite features are the 5 point harness, one handed fold down and the easy manoeuvrability. Our lifestyle takes us from trails to shopping centre and the onix is the perfect pram for both. We did have to contact redsbaby regarding the newborn insert and their customer service is so great to work with. Show details
Great pram - Quick and easy to fold. The one handed fold functionality was a key factor for us. We also bought the matching capsule and bassinet - makes life much easier transfering our bub from home to car to the shops, especially when our bub has fallen asleep during the car ride. Love the pram design as well. Show details
Love this pram, its easy to use and not too heavy either. The frame isnt one hand fold when bassinet is fitted. Not a fan of the basket. Overall I love the look and the way it is easy to push even with one hand. Show details
We purchased this pram after attending a Redsbaby Demo Day and were amazed at how light the pram was for a fullsized single pram and at how quick and easy it was to fold and unfold. Although the pram in the colour we wanted was on back order, we were kept well informed on the status and delivery was very quick from the warehouse. Show details
