Please note: As of November 2024 Reid Cycles has become an online only store.
The bikes I have purchased from Reid Cycles have been value for money and while I do all my own tuning etc, the parts have been good quality for mid level riding and I have not had any issues.
I purchased a Reid MTB e-trail 1.0 bike on a Black Friday sale. I thought at $1000 it was great buy without getting too deep into the specs. It arrived a fortnight later and i was concerned as the box packing was damaged in transit. It did have some damage and the incorrect 240 volt plug for Aus. After contacting Reid cycles online and then… Read more
speaking with a rep, the problems were resolved with them sending the spare parts i needed to fix the damage issue. (after some back and forward and photos). I must say it was not Reids fault, more the couriers and in transit handing that would have caused the damage. I really love the bike and would recommend them.
Xmas time 2025 reid sphinx emtb frame snapped, had to deal with bikesonline it took 4 months to settle claim, i also paid for a service plan of $159 which as reid cycles closed all their stores, i was unable to use! Then to be told that my refund… Read more
would be $53 due to it being 3 years since purchase when I explained to them I wasn't able to use the service plan due to branch closures. They still said nope absolutely disgusting service, with me having to chase up phone calls and emails to get my frame replaced. I would absolutely recommend you do not purchase items from either reid cycles or bikesonline
Follow-up · It took numerous follow up calls and emails , FINALLY now in April I have my bike back in the road, I stand by my review that those looking to purchase a Reid bicycle, especially through bikesonline, should not go through with the purchase, Basically from a customer service and after sales service stand point.

Buying online turned out to be a good experience. The Granite 3 is amazing and I have done two tours on it,loving it!
My husband and I both purchased mountain bikes from Reid Cycles for riding off road tracks in rugged terrain. The bikes arrived within 1 week of ordering, well packaged to prevent any damage during transit. They were both so easy to put together, we didn't need to watch the assembly video, we had them ready to ride within 15 minutes. We always… Read more
put tyre goo into the tubes as there are a lot of goat head prickles where we ride, this prevents flat tyres and a long walk home. From the first ride we were impressed by the quality and ease of operation of the bikes. The frame and mechanical components are of good quality and sturdy structure. Changing gears is simple and smooth, they handle a variety of terrain with ease. We've had our bikes for over 4 weeks now and have been riding 10km per day, every day, on sandy & rocky tracks. These bikes have not failed. They are well priced, great value for money, no bells and whistles, just good sturdy mountain bikes. Exactly what we were looking for. We're really happy with the bikes and the customer service from Reid Cycles, we can't recommend them enough.
*To be clear, I bought this bike at a discounted rate through staff purchase* As a bike mechanic with a deep understanding of components and a passion for cycling, I recently purchased the Reid Granite 4.0 as my first gravel bike through a staff purchase discount at my workplace. Even at its full retail price of around $2,000, this bike is a… Read more
steal, and after putting it through its paces on varied terrains, from urban commutes to rugged gravel trails like Canberra’s Centenary Trail, I’m genuinely impressed with its performance and value.
My first major ride on the Granite 4.0 was a 160km loop on Canberra’s Centenary Trail, a challenging mix of gravel paths, fire trails, and paved sections. (I’ve included photos of the bike on the trail) As my first big gravel ride, I was blown away by the bike’s performance, zero issues, no creaks, no mechanicals. The relaxed geometry kept me comfortable over the six-plus hours in the saddle, and the flared drop bars offered superb control on technical descents and loose gravel. The carbon fork soaked up vibrations, making the ride surprisingly smooth. The GRX drivetrain shifted flawlessly, and the brakes gave me confidence on steep, sketchy sections. For a budget gravel bike, the Granite 4.0 handled this epic ride like a champ, proving its capability for long-distance adventures.
The Reid Granite 4.0 has been a revelation as my first gravel bike. Its thoughtful component choices, durable build, and versatility make it a fantastic option for riders on a budget. My 160km ride on the Centenary Trail, with no issues and plenty of comfort, proved this bike can handle serious adventures while remaining practical for daily use. As a bike mechanic, I’m impressed by its value, ease of maintenance, and performance, whether you snag it at full price or a staff discount like I did. If you’re looking for an affordable, do-it-all gravel bike, the Granite 4.0 deserves a serious look.

Reid Cycles has lost it by going fully online. I bought a few Reid bicyles and liked those. But by closing all stores, I found their service of extremely poor quality. I have had problems with their bikes which they did not address nor care to… Read more
address after I contacted them. Eventually, I had to go to 99 Bikes to rectify the problems. That was never the case in the past.
Follow-up · Reid Cycles contacted me and apologized for the treatment I received. The support person who answered me was a new recruit who started work less than a week prior and didn't know how to handle queries professionally. Reid Cycles promised me that they will provide thorough training to their staff, and more than adequately addressed my problems. It… Read more

Bought the MTB Elite for my daughter as she is getting more into proper singletrack riding. This bike is a huge jump up in quality from her previous bike and her riding is really improving. Very happy with our choice after going through the options with Brad in support.
Bargain – I bought a Reid Tract 3 on sale. The quality of the components you get for the price is sensational. It arrived within 4 business days from the date of purchase. Recommended!
Amazing customer service and product! – I am just absolutely stoked with my new Reid 24” petite vintage bicycle! I ordered the small sized bike initially online thinking it’d be okay, but once received and put together, it was a bit too big for my little legs (I am 152cm). Sam from Reid Customer Service was so friendly and efficient when it came to swapping the bike over, and nothing… Read more · 1
was too much trouble. I am grateful that he made the process so smooth. Can’t wait for some sunshine now so I can get it out on the road!
Negative reviews
Do not by from Reid cycles. Their customer service is appalling. I have taken back three e scooters to which where all faulty. They refuse to give me a refund. The latest is they won't pick up my forth scooter to be repaired - I have wasted hours of my time returning faulty products to this company.

Assembly Nightmare – Just received my Reid Vintage deluxe ladies cruiser style bike. I’ve wanted one of these bikes for so long and was really excited when it arrived. However for a flatback it’s been such a nightmare trying to put together; -the instructions are a QR code to Youtube videos but theyre for a slightly different model, and things are different in… Read more
assembly which was a bit of a concern for just starting to put together??? - The book and paper leaflets of any assembly are a little poor with image instruction - And have found the parts made of metal are out of alignment or warped slightly and are extremely difficult and challenging to fit together for the screws -Bike still not fully assembled and feeling nervous of further issues ☹️
Horrible quality product, even worse customer service – Not even worth 1 star. These bikes are terrible quality and the customer service is even worse. We purchased one that broke after a couple of short rides, and when contacting Reid they blamed it on our assembly (despite following their assembly instruction video). Do not buy!!

Awful - came completely damaged – When the bike was finally delivered the packaging was ripped and a boot print on the side which of course dented the bike inside the box. The hassle to get this refunded and collected is crazy. And they expect you to package the return with “sufficient protective packaging” by “adding additional cardboard and/or bubble wrap”. It is a complete… Read more
joke that they expect it to be returned in protective packaging at the customers expense but won’t deliver it to us with that same expectation standard of protective packaging. Do yourself a favour and never order from Reid.
Absolutely disgraceful that they expect a return standard that they don’t provided in delivery in the first place.

Train wreck - no aftersales service – I purchased ebike online- paid $949, it was delivered quickly. But then the trouble started. The box it came in was gaping open as it was so badly packaged, the box torn in places and the bike frame was all scratched as no bubble wrap was used to protect it in the obvious places. The box was so bad it had been opened and resealed so many times… Read more
with layers of tape and it looked like this bike has been shipped all over the world three times over! There were loose washers and bolts rolling around in the bottom of the box. Not only that, but the bike also looked like it was a used returned item already! there was considerable dirt on the wheels, and air in the tyres (even though Reids own website recommends not return shipping any bikes with air inflated tyres as they can burst in air cargo holds).
I took photos straight away and emailed them to the customer support email address. They got back to me straight away and said they would pick it up and refund me. They said if I bought another bike, they would fix me up with some accessories. Okay I thought, these things can happen, so I go online to choose something else and the next most expensive ebike for women (step thru) is $350 more than the one I purchased, at $1299. But the same bike in the men's version is on sale at $999.99. Both the male and female versions of the bike started with the same original price tag. they are identical bikes except that the mens has a crossbar and the women's doesn't. GENDER PRICE DISCRIMINATION #pink tax
I return email, I ask can you sell me the ladies version for the same discount as being offered on the mens version? No response for 2 weeks. At one point I asked they call me, not email......they email anyway, a week later.... Then they write back and say no sorry we can't do that.
I opt for the refund. I ask, please when can you pick up the bike? no answer again, communications go cold. I use the support chat bot to try and get them to contact me to no avail. At one point in this saga, I rang the physical store and the poor guy there said that the warehouse that ships the online orders deliberately cancelled their phone number because........they had too many phone calls and complaints...
When they finally write back, they say its booked for pickup Friday. I write back to ask how I address the package? who will pick up? they tell me the courier's name but not the other details I ask for. I write back, no answer, I write again, what time on Friday? no answer.
Friday comes, I wait, and wait and wait on Friday, I work from home for the specific reason of allowing the bike to be collected...... no one comes.
I ring the courier company. There is no booking. They lied!!!
I ring, and ring, (I found a number hidden online using the sitemap 03 9314 9199 but they never answer it, and I am not sure it is even monitored) no answer. I use online chat bot, no answer, I email, no answer.
Stay away because they are just so frustrating to deal with. This company just takes too long to respond, and they keep leaving you hanging. I have never experienced anything like this from a big company, according to the answering machine they ship bikes to over 20 countries! I hope I get my money back soon, because I just want to buy another bike.

I can’t believe I’m having issues.. again! – To begin with, I bought a pink and purple girls classic vintage bike back 2021, I had to have the pink returned and a new re delivered as the bike was damaged. hoping for a resolution they’ve dodged the bullet and told me to take to the local bike store, like I hadn’t already done that and had her dad who’s worked in bike shops and ridden mountain bikes and bmxs for years, check it over and agree the bearings are rooted. Still under warranty and just plain insulting to deal with. Like as if I wouldn’t know if the chain was to tight or the cranks might need adjusting or the rear hub, all simple things I would have checked before shooting off an email. Stinks of, she’s a woman, she has new clue. My first experience dealing with them wasn’t great, was hoping it was a fluke but to no surprise after reading all these reviews it wasn’t.

Very poor customer service – I purchased a 24” bike. It needed a bolt for the handle bar adjustment and came without a stand. link was for an unavailable item. I emailed back and they suggested I buy a bolt from somewhere else and said sorry they didn't have any stands in stock and probably wouldn’t get any more in.
The bike itself is fine but the service was disappointing especially when there is a warranty on the bike and they could not supply a single bolt or a stand.

Very poor customer service and quality – Purchased two bikes from the online store for $500 each. The bike is poor quality and broke within 4 months. Customer service told us it was neglect and wouldn’t send us the part even though we were under warranty. They also kept passing me to different team members until someone just said it was our fault. I would never purchase from them again and in hindsight should have gotten the Trek.

Where is customer service? – Bike arrived with a damaged rear guard preventing the wheel from turning. Had one email exchange where I was promised a new part, and nothing for ten days. No part, no response to phone calls, emails, chat and social media. Appalling.
