amazing – Bought this hair dryer few years back. Salon quality finish. Satisfied with the speed and various functions. One could choose the cool blow dry option to prevent hair damage from hot air. Show details

Falling apart after 2 years – It was great for the first 2 years but the last 6 months it has been falling apart. First the back of the hair dryer then the front. I managed to put it back together but was a bit of a disappointment since I had such longer lasting Remington products before. However, this product has been great for the time I have had it. I like the heat range and it drys my hair quickly (I have thin long straight hair).

Happy with it – After my trusty old Remington finally died a few weeks ago (yes, I was sad!) I went looking for another & had considered GHD and a couple other brands, but seeing as my last Remington lasted around 12 years, thought I'd stick to what I knew. Happy with the price and the job it does, although not as well as my old one.

Worth the money – Bought it at discount from eBay, paid $47.2 with shipping from ebay good guys store. Blowers is good, happy with the speed and function. Only down side it is a little heavy.

Serves the purpose – I am using this dryer since 5 days and results are good. I am happy with the purchase. It serves it's purpose. Heat and speed switches are well built and blows required hot air. Only thing I didn't like is the weight. Not suitable to hold for longer time. Weight could have been less.

Works really well – I have only had this hairdryer for a month but it gets used daily. It has great power and has many functions and speeds. It works really well and the only downside for me is that it is a little heavy to hold for long.Others in the family love it and to them it is great.

Does exactly what you need to – Bought this one on special (about $30) in red, and it does exactly what I need it to. Three heat settings, and one cool air button. It's not too heavy or too noisy. The attachments have good functionality. It's also pretty robust - mine has slipped from the bench to the tiles more than once, with only a slight crack to show.

Very very happy – Received this as a birthday gift & am so happy with it! Works extremely well, have never had a problem with it. Good length cord too which is very handy.

Does the job – It has been working for two years now. good product. Does the job. It has Good air flow and it has three setting of heat and air blow. in general, I am happy with it and has value for money. Although I had to turn to the store to change my first hair dryer because of its electric fault.

Noisy, possibly faulty – It looks and feels great. Excellent finish, size and weight. But, as soon as I plugged it it I noticed it was really noisy. I thought perhaps it was just a factory adjustment and needed to loosen up bit, but as I moved it side to side (the same way you would to diffuse wet hair) it made an ungodly screeching noise. My husband said it sounded like… Read more

an angle grinder. There's a good chance it's faulty and an exchanged item would be fine, but I will be taking it back for a refund and getting a different brand dryer after that.

Broken switch – I have bought 2 of these hairdryers and although I have found them excellent - both of them have ended the same way - the on off switch doesn't work. That has never happened before to me and I thought it was a one off til the 2nd exactly the same hairdryer broke the same way. Not impressed. Won't be buying it again which is a shame because the size, weight and power are perfect.

Love it – Honestly not sure what model I have but I love my hair dryer. I've had it for two years and it works so so well. It dries my hair faster than any other hair dryer I have used. The heat setting is the perfect temperature that it dries really fast but doesn't burn. I would recommend to everyone.

Planned obsolescence – So angry. It works fine but the case has started to disintegrate going sticky and ruining my benches and draws. Planned obsolescence anyone?? Because of this I will NEVER buy Remington again.

Good value and works well – I purchased this from Myer a while back when they were having a super crazy sale. I managed to score the hairdryer plus the pearl hair straighter which both come in a carry bag for about $60! Bargain. The hairdryer has served me well, I have thin hair and so require only literally like 3 mins to get my hair fairly dry. Perhaps this is why I… Read more

haven't experienced melting nozzles and burning smells like others might have.

I also use the pearl straightener everyday and it works well, it has a range of degrees setting but I usually just leave it on the default 190. It's quick to start up and get to heat and easy to use and style with.

Overall, i would purchase it again! Good value for money if you are able to purchase on sale with the straightener and hairdryer combo.

Stopped working after 4 months – Has stopped working after 4 months. Has been a pain as the diffuser keeps on falling off and have to use some tape to hold it on. Strange that I has a 3 year warranty as it seems from other reviews that there is a fundamental design fault with this dryer.

Decent price for a decent product – I got this in a deal with the pearl styler 3 years ago for $99, and have had no major problems with it. It still works great, as I only use it to dry my hair than to style with, so I have neither the over heating issue or the diffuser problem. Although I have recently started to smell some sort of metal burning when I use it for a prolonged… Read more

Overheating problem – Had first one for 6 months and returned to store, as I couldn't hold the handle while using as it heated to an unbearable temperature. This was replaced, and now returning the second one after 10 months with the same issue.

Worst Brand Ever!! Will never buy anything from Remington Again!! – Couldn't believe it. I moved from the US to Australia and needed to buy a hairdryer, for obvious reasons. I decided to try a Remington. It worked well for almost a year. Then it broke, out of nowhere. I took exceptional care of it, so was a bit surprised. I did like it til it broke, and figured it was a defect. So I bought another of the same… Read more

model. I can't believe it, the thing just broke on my yesterday. I have only had it about 6 months!! I've never had a hair dryer break on me before. So clearly it is a testament to the product's quality. I reached out to their customer service and I am appalled at the responses I have received. Never again!!

Great value – I purchased this hair dryer last month. I needed a new dryer which are more durable than my previous one whice came with DC motor and lasts only half a year. So I tried to search the new one with AC motor but not too expensive. This new Remington hair dryer might be the cheapest in professional range. It works well and quite powerful with 2000… Read more

watts so I can finish my job within 5 minutes and it also comes with variable speeds and heat settings including ionic tecnology which help reduce frizz and leave my hair smooth and shiny. The size is not too big to pack in my travel suitcase as well. However there are some problems, it is slightly heavy for a small girl like me and it also doesn't quiet as it claims. It 's a bit noisy in the first speed but when I switch to the highest speed, the sound change to be very very noisy so normally I only choose the first speed to reduce the noise and that is enough for my short hair.

Nozzle melted – Was given this dryer for present at Xmas (2014). Is now 5 mths old and nozzle has melted and doesn't stay on dryer. Not happy with product. Did dry well when new. Now useless. Have emailed company and awaiting reply. Won't be buying this product again or recommending it to anyone. Good heat Attachments melted.

Don"t buy - Heating element failed after 3 uses – This Remington hairdryer, AC3500AU Salon Collection, is very poor quality. The heating element failed after 3 uses! Now it just blows cold air. Quality control is obviously lacking. I bought this hair dryer to replace another Remington hair dryer that too failed after only 12 months. Come on Remington, get your act together and get some quality control checks in place! Hair dryer does not work

Absolute RUBBISH – My wife now has her second one and it has EXACTLY the same problem, the concentrator falls off constantly - I wouldn't go near it! Sure we can send it back and get another one but there is obviously a design fault, and whilst we wait for a replacement she doesn't have a hair dryer - remington is welcome to email me and discuss a solution it works… Read more

fine if you don't want the concentrator end of hair dryer is not correctly sized or concentrator is bad design

Bargain price for lasting quality – Works better than what you would think for its price! the fact it can do cool with out holding down a button is the reason this one out i use it to dry my Long haired alaskan Malamute and that takes 3 hrs with a normal dryer this one did it in a little over 2hrs with not a hint of overheating! And yes most that time I've got it on medium heat. 6 settings, built to last

Salon quality for bargain price!! – This dryer has really impressed me with its power - I have very thick hair & it dries my hair in no time. I was going to spend $130 on a Parlux & so glad I gave this one a go at $40 it seemed to have the same qualities anyway plus has a 3yr warranty. Leaves my hair soft, silky & smooth. Inexpensive, lightweight, powerful, stays cool (doesn't overheat), 6 settings

Good strong dryer, faultly diffuser won't stay on – I agree with Flumpf. It's been a great hairdryer but the diffuser has fallen off so many times it won't re attach now. Remington can't replace it and the warranty expired 1 month ago. Now I have a great dryer but I'm unable to diffuse my curly hair. Very disappointed indeed! :( Powerful, effective, reliable Diffuser attaches poorly and has fallen off so many times will not re attach. Quite heavy until you get used to it too.

Passable if you don't need the diffuser – The diffuser on this otherwise serviceable hairdryer basically attaches with a prayer and little else. It is easily knocked off, and the plastic is so brittle that if it hits anything resembling a floor it dents and, as I discovered, the screw thread shears off, rendering it unable to be reattached. Support, via Spectrum Brands, is useless as they… Read more

are brusque to say the least, and ridiculously don't stock spare parts. Now to find a well-made hairdryer... Dried hair before it broke The diffuser design is a joke, with an almost nonexistent thread so it easily knocks off, at which time it easily breaks as it is so brittle.

Will buy it again – I bought one unit in 2007 and it was still working perfectly fine except that the handle has become sticky. I loss my manual and rang the manufacturer and they mailed one copy to me without cost. I then bought another one in 2012. It is very easy to use, the whole equipment is cool to touch while in use or afterwards. It has three heat and 2… Read more

speed selections which is easy to select. It also has a cool shot function to set the hair after styling.

The negative ion generated by the hairdryer is supposed to reduce frizziness and I find it very effective as I have curly hair and most other hairdryers I have used always make my hair more frizzy but this one doesn't. The air concentrator nozzle is very effective for straight styling and produces sleekly hair.

The filter at the back is removable for cleaning; hence keeping the airflow consistently good throughout life cycle of the product.

I will definitely buy this product again when my second one is due for replacement. It has all the features and functions I need and is lasting A bit long and sometimes can be a little awkward to move it around the head.

Good – Brought it for $59.95 at Kmart. Happy so far. Makes hair smooth and not fizzy. Dries also very fast without burning my head Cheap, great functions, great hairdryer overall. I like the 3 setting heat control Cord short. even though is advertised as salon length (i assume this means long cord). Would have also been better with a 3 speed setting.

OK – If you have thick hair this is a winner. If it's fine this may be too powerful as more control is needed Dried quickly and results left me with smooth hair Heavy (good quality motor) and awkward to use re placement of switches. Power even at low setting too strong for my fine hair.

Good – My husband bought this for me after my VS finally gave out. It was around the $50 mark and came with a hairbrush and diffuser. others i' have had. The fan at the back works well and the suction isn't so great that your hair would get caught in it.

The best part is that I have had it for over three years now and it still works well. One of the best hairdryers I have ever had.

Makes my hair feel smooth & light weight and shiny.

Dries quickly. A bit heavier than others. Hurts the wrist after some time.

Excellent – Fantastic hair dryer. The different settings are great and I love the cool shot. It drys my hair in half the time compared to my old one and leaves it in great condition. Excellent hair dryer, my hair doesn't go as frizzy as my old one and seems to leave my hair in lovely condition, it feels solidly built, it drys my hair very quickly. It is a great hair dryer for a really good price (I paid $55 for mine on special) - the brush it comes with is also fantastic. I really like this hairdryer, however, it may be a tad heavy for some people. In saying that I think it makes it feel like it wont break easily.

Rubbish product – I bought the hairdryer in March 2012 and 4 months later the heating element died, rendering it useless. This is the first time I have bought a Remington hairdryer and, based on this product, I won't buy another Remington product. Waste of money. My last hairdryer was a European brand and lasted over 5 years. It broke after just 4 months and is not repairable. Have to buy a new hairdryer.
