Renogy

Golly, after reading all these reviews it has me worried! So far I’m a happy customer. I purchased 200ah Renogy Pro battery, 200w shadow flux panel, dc-dc charger and various minor items for installation on my boat. I bought the battery after seeing a wild YouTube review where a dude threw it around a backyard, dunked it in a bucket of water and… Read more
it still worked. I figured it would survive boat life if it survived that. So far so good. The panel gets Shade from my aerials but still puts out good power. I can run my pie oven without causing glitches on my sounder from it dropping volts (as it did on lead acids). I hope I’m not tempting fate by writing this review. Maybe I got lucky because I bought the most expensive items in the range.

Renogy must have 1000 customer service agents doing the work of 10 people. I have never experienced such inefficient customer service. Everyone apologises and apologises, but nothing gets done. Also, they can't comprehend simple requests it's like talking to a robot without a brain. It seems they read from a script and don't use their brains
I Only give 1 star because I can’t give zero stars. Renogy is rubbish I purchased a suite of Renogy products. Lithium Battery, DCDC charger, shunt & battery monitor, solar panel & AC charger for my 4wd for off-road remote touring purposes. So far I’m having trouble with 3 items. And to get technical support you deal with AI for weeks. The AI… Read more
asks more questions and answers and eventually you get frustrated and give up. Not 1 human has reached out to help in anyway. Do not buy this renogy gear if you want reliable dual battery systems for your 4wd or RV. You will be sorry if you do.

USED TO LOVE THIS COMPANY – Need to change my email address. They told me I had to create a new address, then I would loose all my points and credits. Don't deal with them. Got a response from the company. They said if they resolved my issue would I change my review. Went to the link they sent. Confirmed my OLD EMAIL ADDRESS and did not change my email address. appears that I may have been able to change my ADDRESS and keep my points.
The saga continues as I did not change my address.
They asked me to try again, only I did the latest app update and now cannot seem to locate the section to try.
Now have to send them screen shots showing that I cannot see the section. New Rating is - 1 star
Update 6 Sept 2024 .....
Got a response back today, have attached a video that they sent to to explain how to use the app to change my email address.
Video lasts 18 seconds

Update 19 Sept 24 ......
Latest update from this company:
Our team has reviewed your concern, and it is recommended that you continue using your current email address, ???????@###.XXX.com, when logging into the app to avoid any issues with your account, particularly with regard to your associated points.
Please ensure you use this email address for app access, as using any other email might not allow you to retain your points. Additionally, I have attached a reference document for your convenience.
Its even more funny when the document they attached is a document I wrote and sent to them after spending a whole morning working out what the Video and another document they sent is.
It is a two page PDF that explains what is supposed to occur to change your email address..
New rating is -3 stars.
By the way on the app DC HOME, there is a page called SELECT that allows you to use your points and get special pricing....???
There is a 100W solar panel on it says buy price with of $141.90 and get $30 off, look at the attachment... false and misleading advert.
Update 14th Oct 24....
Nothing has been achieved, still cannot have my email address changed without loosing 1.55 million points

Works as charger. App is terrible – 1. My LCD display has stopped working. 2. The Renogy BT app is absolutely horrible 3. They don't allow bad reviews on there website. Show details
Great product – I bought 3 of the 100 amp hr batteries 18 months ago to go into a camper. They work perfectly delivering what they state. I bought the Bluetooth units. They communicate without any issue with their IOS app. Batteries hold charge well. I have since bought Renogy 3000w Inverter/charger, 3 of 200 amp hour batteries, 100 amp solar controller, a… Read more
number of 200w solar panels and a 60 amp dc-dc charger plus accessories. Everything was promptly delivered without any fuss and the packaging was well done; no damage. I was emailed immediately with an invoice and when the gear was shipped. Every order arrived in only a few days. All gear was easy to install and program. The equipment is very professionally made and presented. Manuals are clear and well written. Renogy gear prices are a fraction of the older more well known brand names but I have found they give equal performance. I highly recommend. I have included a photo of one of a number of orders only as verification. I have bought everything from the Renogy Australian website. No additional charges and no shipping fee on anything.
Got to be the most unprofessional people to deal with – The worst pre-sales experience I ever had. This is not a review of Renogy products as I have been trying a week now to get a reply from them. I was online about to purchase 2 x 200ah lithium batteries. At the last minute, I chose to first seek an Australian supplier but could not find anywhere on their website. So finally I found a way to send… Read more
them an email, but even that was not easy. The following is what I find... 1/ There is no Australian dealer for renogy, so if something goes wrong, as shown with many giving reviews, you are in the crap hole. They do have a "dealer" link, but takes you to a page asking if you want to be a dealer haha... how decieving is that? 2/ This company does not have any phone contact, which is a huge red flag for me and most others with brain matter between the ears. 3/ Send emails without any reply. Well they did reply with a link to login to an account that you must open to see their support answer to my question which was... please supply an AU supplier. Gee, how hard is it to reply with words, rather than a link? This is a very tricky way to get your details, so I refuse to open an account with them. 4/ Live chat on the website knows nothing and useless as teets on a bull. 5/ Cannot get shipping cost untill you get passed giving all your paymment details... thats another huge red flag for anyone with brains. 6/ Reading reviews from product review come in at 1.8 stars from 32 reviews is about the worst I ever seen. What did it for me? The lack of contact is not that of a sincere company who cares about their customers... so I bailed out of my purchase. How lucky am I?

This is a review about the *installation* of an inverter in a vehicle! I bought the 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave inverter from Renogy to replace one from Sinergex, which had failed. Before the Sinergex, I had one from a Taiwanese company, called Marc… Read more
Ting, which was excellent and lasted over 10 years. Anyhow: I installed ALL THREE inverters myself, so I can compare the procedure.
The one from Renogy was the biggest pain in the butt to install, mostly because it is badly or thoughtlessly designed. Every other RV electronic component I have installed (examples: Victron, Truma, Sinergex, Votronic, etc), which has a regular phone wire to connect with external components, always uses a regular phone cable with clip-in plug at BOTH ENDS, not one welded into the control panel! This meant in my case that I was unable to re-use the phone wire already in place (and functioning), but had to lay the wiring for the external control panel from scratch.
Instead of "plug & play" it took me in excess of 4 hours just to install this external part! My cabling is through trunking, which is running up in the rear (recessed) corner of our wardrobe. So I had to empty all shelves AND remove our composting toilet - only to access this trunking. [This has been the first time I needed to access the trunking since 2013, when I first laid it!! So don't tell me it's in a "st^pid place". I normally don't need to get to it.] I also had to cut countless cable ties and fix new ones in order to remove the old telephone cable and lay the new one - all an unnecessary fiddle.
Previous external switches, which I had with inverters, have all been round, fitting into a hole made by a 43mm hole-saw. Renogy's "had to be" rectangular, which meant I had to cut a different hole - in a board with other switches glued right next to the cut... Another nuisance.
After the control panel and its cable was finally in place, I thought "okay, getting the inverter in should be easy", particularly since M5-nutserts in place from the Marc-Ting inverter were in exactly the right position... No, Renogy had to have tiny 4-mm holes in the feet, which are supposed to hold the inverter on the wall! So I had to take all four feet off and drill the holes bigger to fit my M5-bolts. All done, I found out that - due to a bulky plastic insulation for the positive connection - I couldn't put my bolts in straight!
WHO BLOODY DESIGNS SUCH RUBBISH? Too large holes in the control panel front, tiny holes in the feet that are supposed to hold the inverter on the wall, and finally you can't put in a screw or bolt straight because something else has been placed in the way! Has anybody at Renogy actually tried to install this inverter - in a not so perfect location with difficult access?
Final disappointment: the bloody telephone cable to the external switch is so short that it barely reaches! I guess it's barely 3 metres long. If the bloody thing wouldn't be welded in at the other end, I could have used a longer cable (actually, the one previously in place WAS longer). I hope the heat from the inverter will not damage the cable, but it's impossible to lay the cable below the inverter, there's not enough length.
To this day I haven't used the inverter for any longer period, so I can't say much about this.
Follow-up · We now are travelling with the inverter in occasional use and I have no complaints. It's a bit slow to start up, but we're talking 60-90 seconds. It is very quiet and I haven't noticed the cooling fan kicking in, even after longer use of our vacuum cleaner (which runs on 240V). It's mounted in a space with good airflow and a temperature… Read more

Follow-up · In the end I did get a refund, it took me 2 weeks of back and forth with Renogy. Customer service was well below par. For this reason I wouldn't purchase this gear.

I brought a 300amp battery. When I open the box found it was damaged. I took photos i a claim and they sent me a new battery straight away. I was very happy. I had no troubles at all Show details
I bought 4 48V 50AH batteries from Renogy. After a year one of the batteries had a bad cell reducing the battery capacity. I contacted Renogy who promptly acknowledged the problem after checking my data a sent me a free replacement battery
Great products – Maybe I've been lucky? I returned a flexible solar panel and had a new one sent to me via warranty. The DC to DC charger works great, and so does the 200AH lithium battery. I would be angry if they have changed their Australian customer service number to an AI chat, as that is just terrible. Show details

Negative reviews
We purchased one of their solar kits, which included three panels and an MPPT charge controller that is advertised as having over-voltage protection. Unfortunately, that protection clearly did not work. The controller suddenly failed and blew up, releasing black smoke. It was genuinely terrifying to witness, especially in a confined camper space.… Read more
We followed the system specifications as sold. If the kit cannot safely handle three panels, it should not be marketed and sold as a three-panel system. Safety should never be compromised. To make matters worse, customer service has been extremely poor. We were promised a response within 24 hours, yet we are still waiting — and in the meantime, we have no electricity in our camper. That is not a minor inconvenience; it completely disrupts travel and daily living. At this stage, we are left with unusable equipment and no clear resolution. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend choosing a more established and reliable brand such as Victron Energy.
Don't EVER buy any products from Renogy this company is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL the product I purchase through ebay turned up on time but wrong item. Would not support a warranty process as the battery had been in storage. The battery in question, a 50ah Lithium was bought to replace a 58 ah AGM, so it should have had around 40% more useable capacity. The truth was it had about half of the capacity of the old AGM, the lithium was charged and put into storage with a top up charge at intervals.… Read more
The most recent time I top up charged it unfortunately it was dead and could not be rejuvenated. Renogy continually respond with emails I can only assume are AI based as they never address the issue I advise and always fob thisw off with the "incorrect storage" excuse. Simple facts are the battery was faulty to start with and they will not honour any warranty, they asked if I would be happy with a 15% discount on further purchases, anyway I declined their offer. Update - After a lot of seemingly automatic email responses from Renogy warranty the message must have finally gotten through and Renogy eventualy replaced the battery.

Purchased a new model 40amp DC-DC charger. After 2 months of back and forth emails, Renogy refuses to address the issue where the charger does not fully charge the battery (max 30-50% SOC). I have installed an older version of their Renogy 20amp DC-DC charger which works perfectly. Despite sending photos proving the new charger doesn't work correctly they continue to stall. Will never buy another Renogy product again. Show details

Thanks for the warning – Glad I read these reviews. Was just about to buy 2 Renogy Lithium batteries from Supercheap autos. Not now. Have sggested to my local Supercheap store to read these reviews before selling Renogy.

Terrible Product and Customer Service – would give 0 stars if I could, DC-DC charger failed after just after warranty period. Support were useless and took 10 days to give me a answer when i was told it would be max 48 hours. This resulted in my van having no power over christmas and new years. They offered me a 10% discount on next purchase even though theres codes online for 8% to the general public. Terrible product and terrible customer service.
No customer service, just AI not answering my questions – Great quality products, but if anything goes wrong they are almost impossible to get hold of. Renogy used to have a phone number for Australian customers, now you have to try and obtain answers via AI chat, which equates to 0 customer service. A real shame as I would have been a customer for life if they still had an ability to contact them and get answers regarding their products. I will now buy elsewhere. Show details
Great Quality – I've got both the Renogy 40-amp MPPT solar charge controller and the 20-amp DC-DC charger, and they both work great. I'd definitely recommend Renogy to anyone looking to upgrade their 12V gear.
WARNING - Poor quality - DO NOT BUY – 60A DC-DC Charger lasted exactly 1 year 3 months. Contacted support - they advised it only has a 1 year warranty, and offered a 5% discount. Back and forth with support went nowhere and they have no regard for Australian Consumer law. Reported to ACCC. Do not buy their products

I can not recommend spending your money on renogy at all. I have used a lot of other brands (victon, SOK, bmpro, redarc, hardkoor) and have never had the problems I have had with renogy.
Terrible support – I cannot review their products but when I ordered their inability to ship to my regional NSW location they forced me to cancel the order. Update 02 July, 2024 Renoghy eventually offered a PayPal refund weeks ago, however no refund arrives. I would say Renogy are going bankrupt the way they are currently avoiding giving refunds and warranty claims. Substantial numbers of people on FB that cannot get refunds or warranty replacements. Very little of Renogy Bluetooth equipment works, no firmware or software updates. Renogy Apps are Chinese Spyware and send all your phone/tablet information back to China.
Renogy are scam artists – Purchased $2000.00 AUD of goods from Renogy in Australia. Lithium batteries were faulty well with warranty period. As per most reviews, they mate speaking to a person via phone/email/live chat impossible. Their AI chat isn’t relevant to issues raised.
