Palm Bee is newly branded Rice Furniture – Same poorly made furniture, same inflated prices, same pushy salesperson. The shop looks great, but take a closer look. We went to look at a sideboard. Rice store as were told from the birtinya store to check it out at sunshine plaza. It’s the same stock with the full price, not the gimmicky ‘member price’ the sales women said the owner isn’t doing the member discount anymore. Only so they can charge double for the same rubbish. We won’t be back and won’t buy anything from this store.

refused. And even hung up on me. They are money-focused. Not customer focused. I have let them know that I cannot afford to donate $1,900 to their company and I don't see any other tables I like. I deeply regret ever walking into the store. I am still waiting to hear from the owner, who refuses to contact me. I am so dumbfounded by their response.

Pricing drop for members deliberately misleading. Rude pushy sales people – Should have read the reviews before walking into the store. Aspley store again for terrible, rude and misleading sales pitch. The members price IS the retail price but then they wanted me to buy a membership on top of the item price. Complained to head office who admitted the price drop for members was was a “gimmick”. Talk about price gouging at the checkout ! Terrible business practices and rude, pushy sales people - dont buy from them

Terrible Experience – Terrible experience with rude Area Manager. Should have read reviews first. Would not inspect faulty table. No refunds and must pay delivery costs to return item and assemble replacement. When asked to put this in writing she refused saying customers record phone calls, which I would not do.

top was very unstable and not safe. We immediately called Rice Furniture for a replacement or refund. We were told we would get a new table. Two weeks later Rice turned up with only a new top only they would not replace the cracked table foot. The top was still unsafe and wobbly. We continue to call Rice and request they come and remove the faulty table and give us a full refund as they had been there 3 times now. They finally brought a new table base to replace the cracked one. This new table base had a piece missing off the foot and my wife asked the installer to stop and please take all the table piece back to Rice we were done he became abusive and yelled at her, l was in the other room dressing - he thought she was alone. After no apology...WQorst customer l came out and told him you don’t yell at my wife in our house and ordered him to leave immediately. The table is now in pieces upside down in our dinning room this has now gone on for well over 7 weeks. We are continuing legal action with Dept Fair Trading and Visa

APPALLED - 20 PERCENT RESTOCKING FEE !!!! – Ordered products over the phone after I walked into the store and took a few quick photos of stuff I liked, I spoke to a sales assistant in store who told me some stuff was in stock and some in June. the photos I took in store the day prior and she said she knew the pieces I spoke of. I had to cancel the products due to personal issues a few days later. None of the stock was even in the store and some not even in the country for months. I was then informed by B_K for the first time EVER there would be a 20 percent restocking fee. Shocked to say the least as some of furniture wasn’t in the country for months and the rest was in there warehouse down south. I had not been informed of this 20% fee nor had I signed anything as it was all done over the phone. Nor was I sent an invoice until the day I cancelled the order. A restocking fee for stuff not even in the country. And one I was not informed of. I disputed this and they kept repeating the same thing it’s our policy on our website. I had never even looked at there website or knew they even had one, or been told or had even given any invoice stating this. One which I was not informed of, and the sales Assistant herself B_K - Aspley store even admitted they were low staffed that day and she wasn’t sure if she informed me or not. The can’t prove anything have admitted fault and yet they still took $871 off me for doing absolutely nothing, but being misleading and dishonest through silence and not informing me of this prior to payment being made . Due to my personal circumstances I do not have the ability to fight this Aspley Store. I am disgusted and appalled at how it can even be admitted they were not sure if they informed me of the 20% cancellation fee during the phone order when the purchase was made ( something I have asked them to prove and they can’t) and the stuff wasn’t due in the county till June ( Maybe) Their lack of compromise was also appalling when I tried to negotiate. The Aspley store was only helpful when it suited them over the phone at the time they were quick to take my money in full , they were not helpful in any way and admitted not remembering informing me and admitted that the email invoices prob didn’t get sent the first time as there computers do that sometimes. Even after all that they still took the full 20% restocking fee from me costing me nearly a 1/4 of what I paid in total. For them doing NOTHING, for furniture that wasn’t even in Australia for months. My Advice to anyone who purchases from this store is ensure your get their words and promises in writing in regards to arrival dates etc. Also apparently the 20% cancelling fee is all over their website which you prob won’t get told about until it’s too late. I would also advise do not hand over all the money till you are happy with the product quality and have inspected it first prior to delivery before paying the full amount. Since my incident I have been reading other reviews of people who have had trouble with the Aspley store in 2022

facing the same issues. This DOES NOT make sense, since they have also said other containers have arrived within a few weeks of scheduled delivery dates, and it's just my container that is "giving them grief".

Company refused to consider the lengthy delays and will not refund the deposit. I suspect the container is never coming. Do not buy from this company!

Disappoint furniture quality and customer service – Really disappointed in the quality and workmanship of these products. lady in the shop was like I was some sort of lying scum, her less than interested response spoke volumes of the type of company rice is. I messaged management and asked to speak to someone about my furniture and experience and was promised a call back, which never came. I will be lodging a complaint with the accc as the furniture shouldn't be like this, particularly a mouldy lounge which now poses a health risk. My advice to anyone looking here, 1 don't buy the cane lounge and 2 shop around, customer service is everything and this shop has none.

Beware of trusting the sales people and also cost the delivery on top – Had a bad experience with Aspley store where I was sold a damaged piece without making me aware of the existing damages which are hard not to note. While paying over phone i was assured it is a "squeaky clean piece" with "NO DAMAGES". When i reverted back I was told as it is a "shop floor material" cannot be taken back. with the sales woman. But the Manager approved the refund quickly. The sales woman was still contesting that we shouldn't have been refunded. And all these even after spending over $5000 in recent purchases from same shop! Won't be visitng again and wont recommend anyone.

Also, note they charge $115 delivery fees without any receipt etc, you have to pay CASH!

When it became clear that they wouldn't be arriving any time soon - and this was outside Rice Furniture's control - store manager Marvin went out of his way to get my furniture to me. He hunted through floor stock in all showrooms until he found legs to fit. The coffee table legs were not the colour I ordered so he organised a discount to cover my costs in getting them powder coated to the correct colour. Then, when my sofa was delivered with a fist sized dent in the foam base, he organised for it to be replaced within 2 weeks. At all times, Marvin was upbeat and focussed on finding a solution to our problems. I was more than happy with the service he provided at a very difficult time for retailers relying on stock coming from overseas.

Same sluggish lead time, no apologies, no option but to wait 3 months for items to arrive – Lovely stock, design boys are knowledgable however no products are actually IN stock. Beware: wait for months with no communication from Rice or explanation when I enquire. I try and wait for a few weeks between each call, but no resolution. Should gave been honest when I paid $5k for things I can't have. Be aware: also enquired about price policy when they dropped the price a day after I paid for the items, but took weeks to get back to me.

My rice furniture experience – I visited rice furniture and love the way it is set out. The showroom host Dewi was very friendly and was asking all about my needs. I showed her a pic of the room I needed to decorate and she was obviously experienced in matching furniture with homewares and colours.

delivery and let me know. After 3 days around 21st March no response from the shop, I called to inquire if I still get the goods, she then said yes but will confirm in a few hours late. No answer after 2 days then I called, then she said the good in fact not even arrived in the country and she would not know when the goods will arrive, Then I requested a refund of my money so I can buy in a another shop, She point blank refused saying as per their policy no refunds but I need to wait till the goods arrive, I was disappointed and then suggested that if they can give the display chairs (Same chairs I have ordered ) Then they reluctantly agreed, however, she said I have ordered and paid for 2x 2 seaters but they only have 1x 2 seater and 1 x 3 seater and I will have to pay the difference in advance and the delivery fee. I was disappointed that the floor items are not new and my choice was t get 2x2 seaters and it was not my choice to accept this however they refused to match the price and basically said if you cannot pay the difference they will not refund the money and I need to wait as long as it takes to get the good from ASIA, I agreed and paid the deference and received the good. My point is this company is so poor in customer service and I will never shop at the Rice furniture again Shame on you.
