Right Homes

Right Homes Perth excellent build quality and building experience – Absolutely outstanding mid-range single family home builder (also do small multi-unit block developments). Signed a contract in August 2022 and got the keys in February 2024. Two storey, 5 bedroom, custom designed brick and weatherboard including subdivision of the block. The build was through the worst of the post-covid materials shortages (timber, bricks, roofing iron) and labour (brickies dropping jobs midday to go to better paying jobs, no roof carpenters, tilers etc, etc). Gary even got on the tools himself and got his brother in law in to keep the job moving. The resulting build from site subdivision, through site levelling and service laying, and the build itself had people stopping in the street admiring the straight brickwork, properly fixed insulation and flashings. Lovely workmanship.

They are not cheap but are reasonably priced - on first meeting Master Builder Gary laid out the rules; contracted price is cost + fixed percentage. Result is Right Builders wasn't caught in the fixed price contract squeeze that sent so many other builders to bankruptcy.

Design was built around thermal efficiency (building orientation, glass/nonglass areas, shading, interior thermal masses, lots of insulation, room positioning for morning/afternoon sun). Inside was custom layout to my requirements adapted by draughtsman Jerald and purchasing by Geoff. Right Homes and I seemed to be on the same eco page (I chose them after seeing a eco-designed multi-unit site in the same general area). Right Homes helped with council permitting and other administration all the way through.

I found building with Right Homes to be a trouble-free (to me, not to them given Covid shortages), largely on-scheduled time experience.
