Building a home is a huge milestone for our family, and while it was incredibly exciting, there were definitely moments where it felt overwhelming. Having Rachel and Adam there throughout the process made such a difference. They were both so approachable, patient and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy every step of the way.

Rachel went above and beyond from the very beginning. Her knowledge, guidance and attention to detail were incredible, but what we appreciated most was how genuinely she cared. She was always there when we needed advice, happy to answer our endless questions and constantly looking out for things we may have otherwise missed. We never felt like just another client. Rach made us feel like our home genuinely mattered to her.

Adam was equally amazing throughout the build. He was always approachable, honest and patient, taking the time to explain things properly and making sure anything we raised was followed up. He took so much pride in our home and genuinely cared about the quality and the finished result.

What meant the most to us was knowing we had two people in our corner who genuinely cared about our family and the home we were creating. Their communication, reliability and personal approach gave us so much reassurance throughout the entire process.

through construction, selections, finishing and handover—I can confidently say that choosing AusDream was one of the best decisions I made for our home.

From the beginning, what impressed me most was their willingness to listen to what I actually wanted rather than simply trying to fit my ideas into a standard project-home design. I had a very particular vision for the house. I wanted something modern, spacious and premium, but at the same time practical for our family and designed around the way we live. There were many custom elements, details and changes along the way, and the AusDream team worked closely with me to turn those ideas into a finished home.

Quality of construction

For me, the most important consideration when choosing a builder was quality. A beautiful design means very little if the construction and workmanship behind it aren't equally good.

Throughout the build, I was impressed by the attention given to the structure, workmanship and finishing. AusDream didn't make me feel that I had to accept something simply because it was "within tolerance" or "good enough". Whenever I raised a question or wanted something looked at, the team was prepared to discuss it and find a practical solution.

The finished home has the solid, premium feel I was looking for. From the overall construction through to the internal finishes, cabinetry, tiling, electrical work, lighting and detailing, there is a noticeable level of care throughout the house.

A genuinely customised home

One of AusDream's biggest strengths is their flexibility.

This wasn't a situation where I selected a standard floor plan, changed a few colours and called it a custom home. I was personally very involved in the design and wanted to incorporate a number of ideas that were important to me and my family.

There were plenty of discussions along the way—some ideas were straightforward, while others required more thought and problem-solving. I appreciated that the team didn't immediately say "no" when something was outside the ordinary. Instead, we would discuss what I was trying to achieve and work through how it could realistically be incorporated.

That collaborative approach made a huge difference. The result feels like our home, rather than simply another house built from a catalogue.

Communication and dealing with issues

Anyone who has built a house knows that a construction project of this size will have challenges and decisions along the way. I don't believe a realistic review should pretend otherwise.

What matters is how the builder responds when something needs attention.

This is an area where I had a positive experience with AusDream. I was a very involved client and probably asked more questions than the average homeowner. When I wasn't satisfied with something, I said so. When I wanted clarification, I asked for it. The team remained approachable and worked with me to resolve matters rather than becoming defensive or disappearing once construction was underway.

That accountability was extremely important to me.

Value for money

When building a premium home, it is easy for costs to escalate quickly. My focus wasn't simply on finding the cheapest builder; I wanted to achieve the right balance between design, construction quality, inclusions and overall value.

Looking at the finished result, I believe AusDream delivered excellent value for the level of home we created.

More importantly, I never felt that the objective was simply to build the house as quickly as possible and move on to the next project. There was genuine pride in delivering a home that both the builder and homeowner could be proud of.

Local builder with a personal approach

Another thing I appreciated was dealing with a builder where the relationship still felt personal.

With a home of this scale, you are trusting a company with a significant investment and something your family may live in for many years. Being able to have real conversations, discuss ideas and speak openly when something needed attention gave me much more confidence throughout the process.

AusDream has also been a long-term supporter of our local community, including supporting the Macarthur Region Nepalese Community and its Teej celebrations for several years. As someone actively involved in our community, I value businesses that don't simply operate locally but also contribute back to the communities that support them.

The final result

The best compliment I can give AusDream is that the finished house reflects the vision I had when we started the journey.

There is a huge difference between looking at drawings and selections on paper and eventually walking through the completed home. Seeing all those individual decisions come together into one finished house was incredibly satisfying.

Friends, family and visitors regularly comment on the design, space and overall finish of the home, and I'm genuinely proud of what we created together.

Building a home is a major financial and emotional commitment, and choosing the right builder is probably the most important decision in that process.

Based on my own experience, I would happily recommend AusDream Built to anyone looking for a builder who can deliver a high-quality, customised home and who is prepared to work collaboratively with the homeowner rather than treating them as just another project number.

They have an absolutely great team under the leadership of Horst. It was incredibly impressive to see how everyone plays their part to the highest standard and cooperates seamlessly with one another. This exceptional teamwork is exactly what ensures the premium quality of their builds.

During the initial stages, the grand design team gave me excellent advice and options that perfectly suited my choice of land. They took full account of the geographical situation—such as slopes and drainage—as well as the street positioning to achieve the absolute best result.

The design process was both easy and fun. The design coordinator in the showroom made selecting materials simple, and the designer was incredibly skilled at advising us on the best choices. Furthermore, during our on-site meetings, the construction supervisor gave us brilliant additional advice to improve how we use the home, ultimately completing the building perfectly as planned.

Managing a build individually makes it very difficult to find high-quality tradespeople. Wattle Court took all that effort off our hands by managing their own reliable roster of external specialist tradies, meaning we only had to drop by occasionally for a quick progress check.

Even after handover, their exceptional service has continued. Whenever an occasional maintenance issue pops up, their team is incredibly prompt and helpful in getting it resolved.

We engaged an independent building inspector during the construction process and again towards completion. Their feedback on the craftsmanship (especially the carpentry + brickwork) and the timeliness of the build was very positive. The quality of the finished product has certainly lived up to our expectations.

Like any construction project, there were some minor issues identified during the independent inspections. What impressed us was how collaborative and willing the Hall & Hart team was to work through them and get them resolved. We never felt any were simply dismissed or became unnecessarily difficult to deal with.

Our Build Manager was excellent throughout the process. Communication was clear, responsive and proactive, and we were always kept informed about the progress of the build.

to project manager turnover, the build was completed with no major defects and construction took just over a year from the slab pour. Any updates to selections were promptly communicated. The project manager or general manager responded quickly to my queries during the build and provided solutions to keep the build progressing.

There were a few small issues discovered after moving in, such as chipped paint, some missed gaps in architraves, and a missing door stop, which were fixed within a couple of weeks by the maintenance team who are very responsive.

off to a good start. A couple of months into the build and things started to slow down. Items were delivered to the site and they just sat there for months on end. Communication from the builder was virtually non existent throughout the construction process. Month after month there were delays and hardly any progress on the construction. Six months after our initial set completion date we got our keys although we had two goes at handover. On our first handover date we were presented with a house with no appliances installed, no gas hot water connection, and a range of issues not dealt with in readiness for handover. We had a second handover date set and we were mostly satisfied with things enough to accept the keys. During our first few weeks living in the house we discovered a number of items that were clearly not satisfactory and needed repair or replacement. Fortunately we were able to get some windows and doors replaced as these had been damaged during construction. We were also able to get the painters to return to complete a number of tasks as well and we had a major electrical issue that had to be dealt with as well. After 2 or 3 months in the home we were still trying to get other issues addressed but our calls were never returned and our emails were completely ignored. Almost 2 years have passed since moving in and there has never been a returned call, email or any kind of follow up from the company. We were completely ghosted and ignored. In our view this is a company that is poor at communicating with its customers and it is very poor with its after sales service. The company’s use of trades and services is average at best with particular regard to second and final fittings. Overall we had an average experience and would not recommend them to anyone.
