I’m so disappointed with the drop in quality of this product. I bought a rip skirt years ago and loved it, so finally decided to get another and it’s such an inferior product. The material is so wrinkly, it’s literally just a piece of straight material with Velcro (the old version had a little pleat so it sat better) and the sizing is completely… Read more

different. So smaller and shorter. Not even sure what to I do with it as I don’t think I’ll wear it. And it took weeks to arrive.

First time customer and very disappointed with my purchases. They all looked great on the Website. But in reality , poor quality and workmanship. Fabric feels cheap. Postage also took much longer than anticipated. I should have read the reviews before buying. Items can be returned but postage costs to be paid by buyer. Also refund is done… Read more

using US $ currency. So you lose again with the poor exchange rate. Thank god , none of our good australian reputable companies apply this system. Ripskirt , this is my first purchase with you this is also my last.

Unacceptable delays in shipping. Do not order unless you are prepared to wait an unreasonable amount of time to receive your item.

Happy with the skirt but not the dress I bought from them, wish I could sew and could turn it into another skirt. Have ordered a couple more skirts but disappointed to find a long delay now before they send the order. I've been waiting five full business days now and still no postage update. Unlikely to buy anything else from them.

I bought a short skirt, a long sleeve top and the "scarf" matching the skirt. This brand does a great job at marketing their products and their choice of pattern is really good. The way they put together top and bottom look so great on their website. However, the material is synthetic. It's kind of ok for the skirt, because air circulates (!) and… Read more

it's great when you come out of the sea or pool as a lovely "cover up", it dries quickly too. However, the top sticks to the skin and makes you sweat if you're walking on the beach with it for example. I think overall it's not great value for money, and the beautiful patterns attracted me + the thought that was lovely beachwear but I really prefer a loose cotton top on a warm sunny day.

Not All That Wonderful – I bought the shortest skirt to use as a beach coverup due to a medical issue. Delivery and shipping was all good. The skirt has nice fabric but is ill fitting. The Velcro is harsh and unbending. Regardless of wear I place the skirt on my hips the pockets and front don’t lay flat and it’s not a flattering look. I haven’t washed it yet or worn in… Read more

water as my trip is pending. I sure hope it softens up. At present I feel I fell for the internet scam that this was ‘the’ product I needed. Glad I bought a sale Item :/

Items too small/ no exchange available – Very unhappy with product. Size is way too small for a medium and the quality of the material is not great. I can’t return as apparently because sale items. I’ve poured $126 AUD down the drain. If a product is online you should be able to return.

Happy with all the skirts – Love my rip skirts. Have short and mid length sizes in medium. Very comfortable. Going on a beach holiday soon and so glad I purchased.

I love my Rip Skirt Collection – I have a collection of ripskirts I’ve developed over the last 18 months or so. It has taken me a little bit to work out which styles and lengths best suit me and my lifestyle. I find some of the complaints I’ve read on here interesting to say the least as I have not encountered any such issues. I’ve returned and exchanged several items without a… Read more

problem. I will agree that the fabrics the skirts are made from may not be suitable in very hot and humid weather, but that is true of all clothing. I also agree they are quite expensive, so I always wait for the sales or buy from others on Facebook. Their original tops made from modal do look like they’re creased when packed, but I find the creases drop out as soon as you wear them. I suspect some people forget that they’re manufactured as beach/resort wear and not everyday wear. Yes the sizing can vary slightly from batch to batch, but so can clothing bought from many retailers. Personally I have found the range to be great summer wear and great for travelling in both Asia and Hawaii.

Love my Ripskirts – I love love love my ripskirts. I have purchased 3 over several years and the first one I bought is still in original condition even though I've worn it so many times, also to the beach and in the water. They are so comfortable and easy to wear and store, I get a lot of compliments. Someone said the wind catches them causing them to blow open. Not… Read more

true. I even ride my pushbike whilst wearing Ripskirt no problems. I am late 50s. Saving for my next one!

Higher price for less quality from 2021 to 2024 – My first order in Feb 2021 skirt was great, got another one six months later, yep great again. Fast forward to now Oct 2024 prices up by AU$20 but purchased 3 more for travel and they just arrived. Soooooo disappointed, the material is completely different, a lot thinner and poor quality. The exact same size is 5cm shorter in wrap around length… Read more

Not Suitable for long days in Humid Weather – I have had my Rip Skirt for over 12 months now. We are travelling around Australia, and I thought it would be ideal, no ironing, easy to wash, comfy to wear. Well 2 out of three were correct. It is not, however, comfortable to wear; in Queenslands humid weather this skirt is awful to wear, particularly for long periods of time. The material is… Read more

synthetic so it's sweaty, particularly on Humid days. On more than one occasion I ended up with a heat rash. Definitely not suitable for the tropics, unless you are in and out of air-conditioning, or going to the beach. It is not suitable for long days in the heat where you would be sweating as it will make the day more uncomfortable. Sadly disappointed in this Skirt. I gave it a 2 star as it is easy to wash and relatively crinkle free. But if you feel the heat, I would stay clear of this synthetic skirt!

Barely Acceptable – These skirts are acceptable as casual or beach wear, but they are hyped up, over-priced and unflattering. PROS: • Lightweight. • Easy to put on and take off. • Good for wet conditions, as they dry easily. CONS: • Extraordinarily expensive. I bought mine heavily discounted, and they are still poor value. • Despite the advertising, they are prone… Read more

to creasing. • The side pockets - while useful - make the skirts unflattering; the cut and design add bulk to the hips, even when the pockets are empty, and even on a slim and lean body. • There is a lot of online hype about the skirts, but they don’t live up to their description. I wonder if the company deletes negative feedback from their own pages, as they only have ravingly positive reviews, whereas the objective websites (like this one) paint a different picture. • The sizing guide on the website is vastly inaccurate. The skirts are much bigger in reality compared with the sizing guide. • On brand new skirts I have some loose threads on the waistband, so I wonder about the stitching quality and longevity. • The fabric is polyester, and I regret adding more plastic to the world.

In summary, RipSkirts are overpriced, oversized and overhyped. They represent poor value and mediocre quality. They are unflattering, and they add unnecessary plastic to the environment.

Customer Service appalling! – Disappointing, Deceptive, Misleading! Glitches in their ordering and exchange system. When you finally get past their many automated replies and call them out on it, very rude reply. Trying to get your money back is a joke, so many emails to follow up on it, when you finally do get a refund you’re short changed. Quality of goods very… Read more

Change in quality of skirts – I have ordered my third skirt length one and small size.......My first time ordering from RipSkirt was about 2/3years ago. I have to say I was very disappointed with your sizing and quality this time. I am guessing you changed manufacturers. Measuring and comparing the other two skirts there is a difference about 2-3cms at least on width of the… Read more

waist band length when stretched out on flat surface. Length of skirt seems the same. The quality of the material is much lighter from the orginal one I purchased ( Dot Red pattern) even though it stated same amount of polyester and spandex. As I say very disappointing

Polyester – I bought a RipSkirt Beach Cozy in Baja stripe, it looked great on the internet, like a combo towel and poncho I could change under but when it arrived, it is a really horrible itchy Polyester fabric. It is non absorbent so you can't dry off with it and it feels nasty.

I'm done with Ripskirt! – To be fair my first one was great - seaglass pattern (size small, length 2). Then I ordered Dahlia Teaberry. SO different in colour to advertised. Had to exchange not refund and I paid the shipping to send back and to order new skirt which was Camo floral pink. Again, different to colour on website. I'm done. (I also think they remove negative reviews on their site) Show details

Bad customer service – I tried to return an item that was too small and it was a nightmare dealing with these people. The online system seems glitchy, sometimes it showed sale items available, sometimes not and the ordering process was confusing with me ending up getting a duplicate order. They refused to work with me on their mistakes. After referring several friends,… Read more

Re: Nice skirts and tees, with caveats – As someone previously stated, these are not a really good idea for general wear if you're an older lady like me, although they're perfect for holidays in hot climates or on the beach. They do fly up with any breeze, especially the length 3s (which I have most of)....and it's not a pretty sight! They ARE comfortable and flattering, but I now wear… Read more

mine with a safety pin for security. The velcro tabs on some skirts have become uncomfortable, and finally the colours are often quite different to the photos. The tees are inconsistently made. I've 2 sleeveless and 2 sleeved.... 1 sleeveless has a loose and hanging neck binding which I've had to sew up; the other is fine. The sleeved are slightly different sizes even though they're both size 10. And yes garments tend to be on the larger side, so size down.

Very disappointed. Will not purchase again – I purchased several tops in the modal and spandex fabric. I was disappointed when the items arrived as the quality of stitching was not what I would expect of items of this value. Also, after only a couple of wears, and very gentle washing, I found the fabric is already pilling and looks like something that I have worn for years. No longer a… Read more

Don’t buy! Sun Hoody that will stain with sunscreen!! #ripskirthawaii – Rip Skirt Hawaii have a great lightweight sun hoody - with one huge limitation. The light colours will stain with sunscreen and are ruined with any kind of stain remover. Customer Service refused to replace the hoody so left feeling #ripskirthawaii are a #ripoff. Show details

Ripskirt Hawaii - Perfect for the beach but maybe not for everyday wear – Ripskirts were created as a quick cover-up for the beach or the pool, and for that they're PERFECT. They're a wrap skirt, made of a soft synthetic fabric. They shed water, so you can throw the skirt on over a wet swimsuit and it won't get soggy. Putting the skirt on and off is as simple as wrapping it round you and pressing the Velcro closures… Read more

- it takes seconds and there's no need to step into or out of it, or take it over your head. Finally, they fold up into nothing and they don't wrinkle, so they're perfect for beach holidays. Also great if you want something to throw round you after the gym, if you don't like wallking around in your leggings.

They are so comfy and easy to wear (they are lightweight and the Velcro closure is very forgiving), that people are now buying them for everyday wear and that's why I bought mine. I am not convinced it was a good idea.

Their drawback is that the fabric is so lightweight. When there's a breeze, the front flap can fly up, giving a flash of thigh. It's especially bad for the Length 3 (knee-length) skirts, where the flaps are curved - so when the front flap lifts, your whole leg is displayed. Not a problem if you're on the beach but perhaps more embarrassing if you're at a garden party. The length 2 skirt also has an extra section of fabric at the back for ease of movement - and twice, when I've been watering my plants on my balcony, the wind has caught the back of the skirt and blown it right up, which must've given my elderly neighbour a shock.

Another problem - which I haven't experienced yet but has been reported by several others - is that the Velcro gradually gets clogged and becomes less "sticky", so it doesn't need much to make it come apart and then you're skirtless. To avoid the problem, always wash the skirt inside a washbag. You can also sew on a hook and eye for extra security.

The prints are lovely and the colours vibrant, I love the way they don't crease and they are so light and non-sweaty to wear on a hot day. However if I am going to wear them socially, I may have to compromise and wear a slip underneath, or at least make sure I'm wearing something modest underneath.
