I purchased the **Roborock Saros 10R** expecting a premium product, but this has turned into a 4-month dispute with Roborock. The first unit became faulty shortly after minimal use. The replacement they sent was also faulty. After reporting this again, I was offered a third unit—but it was refurbished, not brand new, despite already receiving two… Read more

Under **Australian Consumer Law**, a product must be of acceptable quality, and when there is a major failure, the consumer has the right to choose a refund or replacement. In this case, receiving multiple faulty units clearly constitutes a major failure.

Despite this, Roborock repeatedly refused my refund requests. It was only after I contacted NSW Fair Trading and lodged a formal complaint that they suddenly offered to send a brand-new replacement. By that stage, I had completely lost confidence in both the product and the company.

I made it clear that I no longer trust this model and requested either a refund or a replacement with a newer model. Both requests were rejected.

After months of being ignored, going in circles, and having to chase responses, I have now escalated the matter to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

This experience shows a clear disregard for consumer rights and a failure to comply with obligations under Australian Consumer Law. The issue is not just the faulty products, but the way the situation has been handled—delays, refusal to take responsibility, and forcing the customer to escalate the matter just to seek a fair outcome.

I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing from this company.

Over three months the transition has been smooth, the Roborock software is much better than the Roborock and the additional features (mop and station, good collision detection so it doesn't hit your feet or pets) are welcomed. I’ve had the Roborock for a month now and have been very impressed with the cleanliness of the tiles and carpets in the whole house. It was simple to set up and it is used daily. The software seems a little clunky, but it might just be me, and hopefully it will become further refined over time, and it doesn’t affect the operation. Well done Roborock! floors extremely well. I have two chocolate labradors and this has cut my workload down tremendously. No more drool marks on my floors, or drip marks from them drinking water and dripping all over my floor, and the sandy paws that drove me crazy. Thank you Rocky you have made my life so much easier.

My Saros 10r is working really well and was very easy to set up. I have quite high thresholds to get into my toilet and bathroom, however it was able to navigate it without getting stuck. Still in trial and error while getting to know the system and its functions. But so far happy! Show details

quickly reorients itself and continues. (My wife is a textile artist so there are always bits of material and threads on our floors).

You can edit the map it generates and name all the rooms/spaces and it is very good at identifying no go zones (like stairs !). You can schedule various types of clean for the whole house, an individual room or group of rooms, or just a spot where something might have been spilt.

We only have timber floors so can't comment on its cleaning ability on carpet, but vacuuming and mopping on hard floors is near perfect. The robot also seems to identify and navigate its way over our small mats without any trouble (our mats aren't fluffy !).

It gets neatly around chair legs and other furniture obstructions and, because it is so thin, it gets under pretty well everything.

It does a remarkably good job of emptying the onboard dustbin and compacting it into the main bag in the dock. The emptying is so efficient that we've only needed to change/empty the main bag twice in the 4 months we've had the machine.

The one limitation that we have noticed is that the robot can't sense when its dust bag is full. We've worked around that by just scheduling a regular robot dust bag empty.

All the components that you need to get to to fill or clean, both in the robot and in the dock, are easily accessable, simple to clean, and easy to replace. All the removeable parts seem quite robust.

We haven't had to mop a major spill or similar so far, but, for day to day cleaning, the mopping (and mop cleaning) work just fine.

All up, we are very happy Saros owners.

 Follow-up  · Sound wise, you can hear the robot operating but it's not intrusive (unless something hard gets caught in the brushes). are just so many options to choose from. The 4 litre clean and dirty water tanks are awesome. Even the lowest water setting between 3 and 5 also gives great mop results. The wet floor drys in a couple of minutes. The no hair stuck in brush is 100% accurate, I only had to untangle some hair from the sides of the vaccum brush just once in two months after using it daily. The other standout feature I found was the noise, even on the second highest suction setting the noise is within reason. Definitely recommend for families with young kids.

Bought the Roborock Saros 10R in Aug 2025. After 6 weeks it started throwing an error telling me to reset the robot. A reset would fix it for 1–2 weeks, then the issue would return. The reset process is painful because you have to rebuild routines, settings and integrations each time. At the same time, one mop pad wasn’t washing properly… Read more

Despite being only weeks old, Roborock refused a replacement and pushed a repair that took a couple of weeks. A few months later, the same issue returned. When I requested a refund, they again offered only a repair. I had to escalate to a manager before they offered to replace the unit. At this point I'm so over this device that I just want a refund to go to a different brand. I've asked that few days ago but support became unresponsive again.

For a premium-priced product, this has been a huge let-down — and the support experience was worse than the hardware.

We like how it has a camera and audio feature, we don't need to have a separate pet camera. We can use it to check in on our pet when we are away and I also use it to bug my husband when he's at home and not answering my messages haha.

There are some features we haven't gotten around to using yet like setting up schedules for the Roborock to run.

A few things to be aware of especially if upgrading from an older Roborock like we did - the dock is a bit bigger esp. vertically compared to our old device, so we had to make more of a space for the dock. The auto-emptying feature does mean that the dock has dustbags which need to be regularly replaced.

Overall, a very convenient part of our household cleaning.

wheels. However, they weren't lying when they said that the Saros 10R is designed in such a way that hair won't get wrapped or stuck. It performs better in that respect than my own large-sized vacuum cleaner.

Its chassis also lets it climb up small heights and doesn't get stuck.

If I had to point out any faults, I noticed once or twice, if I've used zone cleaning, for some reason, the robot doesn't go right up to the walls. But when I made it repeat the clean then it did, so not sure what that's about. Hasn't happened enough times for me to reduce the star rating.

Our whole house is carpeted, so wasn't really focused on the mop function but we have been impressed with that too. It's not going to clean like a bit of elbow grease would, but it gets the job done well enough. I love that the water heats up to 60ºC to clean the mopping pads. Make sure to empty the dirty water tank as it smells awful when you open it (the smell doesn't seep out so it's easy to forget!).

Overall, I don't regret the money I spent. It actually does a proper job, and the app is easy to use.

Setup was super easy and intuitive. Initial mapping was super fast. plenty of customisations available. Loved playing around with furniture discovery on the app and adding on more furniture. Major regret. After only few months, it started demanding constant full resets. The fix lasts 1–2 weeks, then the same error returns. Roborock fixed, sent it back (weeks without the unit). They also confirmed a mop pad wasn’t cleaning properly. Months later the fault came back again. I’ve now asked for a refund to switch brands, but support has basically gone silent. Premium price, budget-level experience.

I cannot believe how amazing it is!! This has been the best buy even though it was pricy.. the only thing is the replacement parts are needed every month but I run it for 3 hours per day and now I never have to do much but behind doors etc.

Amazingly clever and such a time saver! Purchased this from Harvey Normal $2500 worked great for 3 months then wouldn't return to dock to recharge. We tried all the trouble shooting still couldn't get in to return to dock to charge. They basically just tried everything to fob us off advising us that it was something they we had obviously done. It was still in purchased condition. Thank-god for Harvey Normal who organised a refund as they tried it in store and couldn't get it to work and could clearly see it was in brand new condition. They also advised us they are getting this brand back everyday due to issues. Buyer beware! Harvey Normal fantastic!
