Ronald Young + Co Builders

Great builders, well organised, well priced and well built – We have been in our RY built home for nearly 9 years now and the house has been great. We chose Ronald Young based on reviews we had found, and also because they had a higher quality fit out at the same price as the other 'off the plan' builders we had looked at, we also found the initial contact and information to be much more friendly and informative than the competitors.

Ronald Young helped us right from the initial stage of choosing a block of land, meeting us on several blocks to discuss the pros and cons (and extra costs) to build on certain blocks, and because of thier advice, we ended up purchasing a more expensive blcok that we didn't think we would be able to afford as the costs to build on this block were lower than a lot of the cheaper blocks (either sloped or rocky, or needed septic etc) so we are very thankful for this advice as we love the area we ended up buying in.

The planning and design phase was flawless, with great advice from Paul and his team on the best way to situate the house and they were very accomodating with the tweaks to the plans we asked for.

The build started very quickly once land titles were issues and every part of the build was well organised, with no big gaps between tradies, we were in in a little over 6 months, including the xmas break over the build period.

Build quality has been amazing, we had no warranty claims during the warranty period, and despite being on highly reactive clay (and being advised there may be some minor movement) we have had zero movement of the house.

The only 2 things that have been a problem are an electrical issue from a tradie who clearly either made a mistake or was lazy and wired 2/3 of the outlets in the house to one circuit (including the dishwasher, dryer, washing machine & microwave outlets) causing the power to trip when using a combination of appliances - RY were very responsive when we found this out and arranged an electrician to upgrade to a 20a breaker, which while it hasn't completly resolved the issue, has minimised it.

The other thing is the one set of soft close hinges in the kitchen has failed. After 8 years of constant use, and that's it - a 4 bed, 2 bath house and in 8 years really there has been 1 minor inconvinience and 1 partially resolved issue.

All in all, if we build again we won't even bother going to another builder - we have already referred several family and friends to RY and from what I have seen, thier houses are just as well built as ours.
