I strongly warn anyone considering Roonsleigh to think twice before hiring them. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. It wasn’t just [Name Removed] the builder and [Name Removed], all of their trades and most contractors repeatedly lied and failed to take responsibility for their work. There was no accountability at any stage of… Read more
the process. The worst defect was the main bathroom and front bedroom, which both suffered from severe water and rotten wood. The front bedroom was damaged by a nails driven through a water pipes The Main bathroom the water proofing was faulty leaving us without a usable bathroom or bedroom for almost a year. Roonsleigh repeatedly refused to fix the issue properly and kept denying that any of the timber was rotten. Every person involved — from their carpenters and plumbers to the tiler, builder, and maintenance man — insisted there was “nothing wrong” and said they would just spray the area with mold killer. After a year of excuses, they finally walked away saying they wouldn’t do any more work. With over 50 defects Roonsleigh prepared a plan in 3 different stages as the scope of work was enormous. Roonsleigh couldnt even get stage 1 complete It was only after I lodged with the QBCC that they came back and properly repaired the damage to the bathroom and bedroom. Another major issue was the water tank which was never plumbed to take in rainwater despite being connected to the laundry, toilets, and garden hoses. We had the installed underground beneath our driveway to help save water. But Roonsleigh struggled with the plans and failed to plumb up for the water tank. Roonsleighs carpenter told me the Plumbers forgot the water tank was going in when doing the plumbing even though every house in the estate has to have one. Roonsleigh thought i wouldnt notice — meaning it would have remained permanently empty and useless. Two weeks after I moved in, they came back to pump out the tank empty which was had gravel and mud in it. It then it remained empty for 10 months. Roonsleigh knew why the tank was empty but sent out pipe camera twice. As long as they kept me away from knowing why the tank remained empty utimately if no problem identified no fix can be done. Was getting no where I mentioned going to the QBCC they finally came back and plumbed up the rainwater to collect into the tank — but even that job is still defective. The pipe is just below ground level and pipe runs uphill. The kitchen stone benchtop also came apart at the join only a couple of months after moving in. I was told they had contacted the contractor on many occasions but couldn’t get a response, and when I asked for the contractor’s details so I could follow up under warranty, they refused to provide the name. The benchtop is out of warranty now. I’ll have to replace it myself — a costly and unnecessary waste after spending so much on what should have been a quality finish. Roonleigh feels i am responsible to fix and payEvery window in the house is also defective and now needs to be replaced. Because the issue wasn’t addressed within the first year after handover Roonsleigh knew that they were defective I’ve been left to pay for that myself — another major expense that should have been covered under proper workmanship and warranty. Roonsleigh lies and promises to fix has worked out for them having success with dragging out repairs with more defects to stop moving on to other defects so in one years time the customer will become responable for all repairs.Only two months into the build, my wife and I stopped visiting the site altogether. The communication was terrible, and the constant mistakes made the experience unbearable. What should have been an exciting project turned into months of stress, frustration, and financial loss. These are just a few examples out of more than 50 defects I’ve had to repair and pay for myself. Every promise to return and fix issues was broken. The lack of honesty, accountability, and professionalism from this builder was appalling.

that Roonsleigh Homes paid close attention to every aspect of the project, ensuring that even the smallest details were executed flawlessly. Their commitment to quality craftsmanship was evident in every corner of my new home.
While I understand that issues can arise during any construction project, I was impressed by how Roonsleigh Homes swiftly and efficiently handled any obstacles that came our way. Their ability to address challenges in a timely manner not only kept the project on track but also alleviated any concerns I had along the way.
Overall, my experience with Roonsleigh Homes was nothing short of pleasant, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with them again in the future. I wholeheartedly recommend Roonsleigh Homes to anyone seeking a reputable and reliable builder for their dream home.
Love our home! We loved our journey building our second home with Roonsleigh. After speaking with and starting plans with multiple builders Roonsleigh by far stood out to us as the best design and cost for our needs and were able to meet our quite specific requirements for what we needed in our family home. Right from the beginning they were… Read more
EXCELLENT with communication and even allowed us to draw part of the plan before sending it off to the architects. They let us make many as many adjustments as we needed to the plan with no extra charge. The colour selection process was seamless loads of included choices without needing to pay for upgrades. The project was well managed and timely. They even pushed to have us in before Christmas when we thought we wouldn’t make it. They returned to fix small defects post construction and were happy to take on board our feedback along the way. We had no surprise financial costs another reason we signed on - locked contract & fixed site costs. Overall we’re over the moon with our new home and happy we chose Roonsleigh as our builder.

We built our home with Roonsleigh Construction. We are very happy with the quality, service and the build. After more than two years of living in our house, we still love it. photos. After the completion, Roonsleigh team always sent their maintenance team come to inspect whenever we have some concerns.
Had some bad experience with previous builders in Victoria. We were quite cautious but turned out to be a happy process. Sarah was patient and knowledgable in the contract stage and the building was smooth (slightly delayed by cyclone) . Got everything finished earlier than expected and the final defect check was quite thorough. Will use Jame's team again for future investment for sure. Show details

0 STARS - CHECK QBCC STRIKES & HISTORY – 0 STARS - CHECK QBCC STRIKES & HISTORY- Can't believe this company is still running. They have recently deleted all of their google reviews and Facebook reviews for a reason. They promised us a 5 months build which took 15 months. They had to repeat every job in our build 2 to 3 times as everything they did was not right or had major… Read more
structural issues. Tiling had to be redone twice, even a third time in one place. Painting had to be entirely redone externally. The deck had to be redone. Our initial slab was poured crooked. They even had to rip up the driveway they poured and entirely redo it. They were warned it was incorrect before the first pour and they ignored it and did it anyway. To which the certifier refused approval so it had to be done again. They left our site an absolute mess and refused to clean it. They trashed our pool and continually left the pool gate down and open to the street. There was never a supervisor on site and sometimes we didn’t even have an allocated supervisor as staff kept leaving or getting fired.
When it was finally time for handover, they would not release our keys even though we had paid our final bill. We had to have a solicitor involved to force them to release our keys as they were in breach of the contract as the accounts had already been finalised. They couldn’t even do a face to face handover, just left a key and folder on the bench with the door unlocked.
When I mentioned that we were considering going to the QBCC after the build regarding outstanding defect items, the general manager threatened us with ‘reviewing our prime cost items’ - even though the build was finished and we had paid our final bill.
The owner refused to speak with us after about a year into the build and still will not - even though we are onto our second QBCC case with them due to issues post construction. This company will make you feel like you are an abolsulte pest for expecting things to be done to an acceptable standard and they do not take responsibility of accountability for anything.
There have been many builds on the Sunshine Coast that have had this experience. This is why they have deleted reviews from other websites.
This company have wasted years of our lives and caused us extreme stress. Don’t fall for the sales pitch and pretty pictures and check their QBCC strikes and history before signing up.
