replacing a single valve, which after researching local Brisbane pricing seems significantly higher than normal for this type of repair. The invoice was not itemised beyond “Supply and Install Expansion Control Valve 15mm”, so there was no clear breakdown for labour, callout or parts. I would strongly recommend getting multiple quotes and asking for a detailed price breakdown before approving work.
I dithered over choosing a plumber for ages, but I obviously ended up with the right choice. Matt and Nick have done a fabulous job of fixing my leaking toilets.
Over pricing. They won't give quote before they come onsite. End up $480 for a water efficient certificate for a 1 bathroom, 2 toilet, 1 kitchen small townhouse.

Excellent and competent plumbing service – Prompt and excellent service. Our plumber, Ryan was very competent and courteous and the job done with a minimum of fuss. Didn't miss in the fee department but that's par for the course. Absolutely would use again.

Arrived on time. Price quoted was outrageous however accepted the job. Over $600 to supply and fit 2 $50 pressure relief valves to a hot water tank. Job took around 20 minutes. Won't use them again

thermostat was fine but wasn't activating as the water in the tank was already at temperature (that's how a thermostat works!!). Sent me an $600 bill for multiple plumbers visits and electricians visit to replace a $20 part that took about 15 minutes actual work. Worst plumber Ive ever used in over 60 years. Avoid like the plague. Dishonest staff and company.
Update 16/9/25. I refused to pay the full bill of $600. After multiple calls from various levels of management i was sent a revised bill of $300 as i informed them i would pay no more than this. I paid this bill then received another call from management offering to refund my $300 if i deleted this negative review and changed my rating to 3-4 stars. I agreed to update my review with these latest developments and change my rating to 3 stars. You make up your own mind about this sort of behavior from a professional services company. Misleading pricing but quality service – Good service, nice people (plumber and apprentice), arrived on time and fixed leaking taps within 40 minutes. Cost was $275 which was a little higher than expected as I was quoted $49 call out fee and $120 per hour, not sure how it came to $275 but what can you do...... old mate is there with his ethpos and expects payment. enquiry. The job was to locate and fix a leak in the upper story bathroom. Ryan came out to access the leak and called prior to the arrival to let us know he was 15 mins away he was on time. He communicated clear to my wife who was home at the time, what he was going to do and when asked called me to further explain. As the job required parts to be ordered in he presented a few options and recommendations and allowed my wife to choose a replacement that suited our needs. Jacob was the plumber to install and fix a couple of days later as the parts were ordered in once again on time, rang before arrival. and communicated clearly. I was home this time and he communicated when he needed to turn the water off. He encountered an issue and came up with a solution without delay. Once the job was done he left the room looking just as clean as it when he started. S and J plumbing are professionals and I'll recommend them any chance that I get.
Weekends are the worst time to have a major leak from an upstairs shower! I called several plumbers, but had no reply. S&J deliver quality workmanship within a reasonable timeframe. They try hard to satisfy the customer's requirements regardless of difficult circumstances- space restrictions within the site and the climatic circumstances. I would strenuously recommend that S & J has solved my difficult stormwater issues.

Tom thought he located the problem with the toilet blockage, unfortunately whilst looking, sewer water was sprayed throughout my toilet room and the neighbours. version here. Ok, 2 weeks on. My toilet is actually still blocked and I have asked multiple times for the recording from the camera and some remedy to the $$$ paid to fix it. The office just keeps assuring me the recording will be sent and Tom is radio silence. Final edit - Tom has now redone the recording and flushed the pipes. Successful outcome just a shame it took 2 weeks of hounding to get it. I'm unsure if I would use their service again.

test and commission (per invoice). S&J Plumbing advised that they could provide a 10% refund, however this was on the basis that our review was either amended to 5 stars or removed.
So move forward 4 days and it rained, unfortunately the leak was worse after the supposed repair.
We have had the repair, repaired by another firm, who actually took the time to get in the ceiling and check the leak and used more than a couple of dollops of silicone.
