The best Coffee Machine – We’ve had our Saeco Magic Comfort Plus since 2005 and use it daily. It’s an absolute workhorse and has consistently made wonderful coffee. The grinder is quite noisy but as the machine is so good it’s not an issue. It’d be great if the service centres were more helpful but YouTube has helped when we’ve had a few issues. Love this coffee maker! Show details

My favorite appliance of all time – I purchased this Saeco Magic DeLuxe as a Christmas present for my late husband in 1999. It's October 2021 now. This machine has been incredible and it is very unfortunate that these are no longer made. The coffee is exceptional and it's so easy to use and maintain. Over the years--until we understood the proper maintenance--the boiler was… Read more ·  1

replaced a couple times, but otherwise, there were no problems. Two years ago, I sent into the service center for a "tune up", which entailed getting new gaskets and grinder, but overall, with regular home cleaning and scaling, it has performed beautifully. I was warned that one day the motherboard may fail and that could be the end of it, but so far, so good. There was a whisper that someone was working on a hack for the motherboards, but as of now almost 22 years old, at least 800 servings per year, and it's still good.

This has been the most amazing machine – purchased in the mid 2000's, this machine has performed flawlessly. and....today the counter says 26 665 cups - AMAZING. Grinder replaced twice, a few seals replaced, and descaled every time she asked for it. Such a great purchase Show details ·  1

Great Coffee machine – I bought this Built in Italy as the plate/sticker says on the bottom machine back when it was First released. It only just been released. The receipt is now to so faded to read now i can make out 2000 and something. Its done 6000+ coffees. and it still going. Did try to scan for verification pointless exercise. aged. but keeps producing I done few odd repairs which kept the machine purring like a kitten. Steam tap has been an issue with the o'ring perishing away but quick fix/replacement an back up running again. The correct O rings size for the tap are only available from UK/Europe. Occasionally it has a programming issue but factory reset and back to normal. but its only just start doing this. 17 years on. Its been a great Machine. As i look research for another the other reviews i read now on newer units not just of Saeco that are out today. Its obvious they will last as long as this one. Not built to last anymore.

Thank you Saeco for machine that has been reliable it has been Brilliant.

Bargain – I bought this secondhand for $50 off of Gumtree. Got told by the previous owner that this was the last of the Saeco Comforts that we're predominantly steel parts over plastic. Pulled the whole thing apart, literally everything, and cleaned and then descaled it. Works perfectly. Then thought I'd check how many coffees are on the counter... 24063! Hoping to get a lot more out of it yet! Show details ·  1

23000 cups of Coffee! – Our Saeco Magic Comfort Plus went to coffee heaven a couple of days ago. I’m quite sure that we could repair it but after 15 years and 23000 cups we decided to let it rest. The water pump did suck air instead of water and it was impossible to went the air out. We bought a new machine. Thanks for all this years and. R.I.P!  Show details ·  1

faulty brew unit – After 13 years of great faultless service our Magic deluxe now shows faulty brew unit (top left symbol flashing). when you first turn it on it doesn't reset, you have to wait about 4-5 minutes then open the side door & close it to get it to reset. the grinder finally gave up but that is not a problem as I use pre-ground coffee (3cups a day for 13 years=14235 cups its surprising it lasted that long). we got it as a engagement present in 2005.  Show details ·  3

Brewunit Blocked – Had this SAECO machine for 10 years now. Been a faithful servant as our household are heavy drinkers. Today the brewunit got stuck, have done the necessary reset and cleaning as per youtube instruction. It unable to reset itself while doing the selftest, I read further and I believe its probably a CPU issue. Does anyone know if its worth repairing or buying a new unit ? I think standard repair is about $140 not including parts.  Show details ·  1

Great Coffee. Fantastic machine - I've had mine for over 16 years – This machine has been wonderful. Very easy to use and has made really great coffee. We have made thousands and thousands of cups from it. We love it. It cost me around $1300 when I first bought it but well worth the cost. One year I took it to work and we all used it in the staff room - then the organisation bought one. The year before last… Read more ·  4

I had to get a guy to replace the seals - I lost the manual but it is available on the internet. My husband bought another smaller Saeco coffee machine second hand at a clearing sale and we put it our caravan. It also makes amazing coffee.

Great model - would purchase second hand – We bought this unit second hand for a very good price. When it arrived it didnt work although it had been serviced by a professional outlet (Who no longer were in business) . Had nothing to loose so I decided to repair or destroy it myself. The manual is freely available from the internet. The unit is easy to work on. I found that a spring… Read more ·  1

had been put in back the front and that made all the difference. Had to replaced the O rings at a later date to fix a leak. The unit then worked very well. Needs to be dead level on the bench. Make sure it is.

It is easy to use.

The coffee made depends on the beans purchased - better fresh beans better coffee.

The grind is simple. It automatically tamps the grind. Just press the button and it does the whole shot .

The milk frothed is an easy process - however not automatic - but still easy to use and makes a good black - latte or cappuccino.

Clean up is easy.

Would purchase a second hand unit as this seems to be a reliable model. Unfortunately no longer available new.

Over 22,000 cups and still going – We have had this machine for about 15 years now and it is always consistent. I have had to replace the seals along the way, but it is still going strong. It may not have the bells and whistles of some of the newer flashier machines, but at a coffee count of 22377 I can't complain.  Show details ·  1

Awesome. Reliable. Wonderful coffee – I have had my machine for at least 12 years and it has never skipped a beat. I had to have it repaired for the first time this year and the water pump and grinder both blew (less than $300 for both). This machine has stood the test of time and its still going strong. Wonderful coffee at the touch of a button. Highly recommended and would be hard pressed to try another brand after this fantastic machine.  Show details ·  1

Reliable and servicable – I had a luxury brand similar model before which was nothing but trouble, flashing lights and minor maintenance warnings, all of which made my life miserable (1st world problem). think the coffee grinder and hence coffee isn't as great anymore after 1800 cups, the unit is very serviceable and I probably ought to get it adjusted or serviced. But still I am very happy, and I'm a reasonably fussy drinker. If I lived in a city I'd get the grinder professionally readjusted :) PS the fancy machine I had before was difficult to get access to insides, this one is easy to open and check...

Great Machine – Have had two of these machines for 10 years. I clean it myself so that keeps costs down. paid for its self over and over again. The machine at work still makes 10-15 per day. Simple easy to use. I would like to make a stronger coffee from time to time. I should download a manual.  Show reply

The best coffee machine ever made – Purchased this machine over 10 years ago and it has never let us down. The machine is used EVERY day for our morning coffee. My husband does a routine clean service twice a year and it has not skipped a beat during this time! It has never been serviced professionally and the only parts we have had to purchase are o rings. Love this machine and would recommend it to anyone in a flash. Thanks Saeco for creating a cracker coffee machine!!  Show reply

Over 10 years of excellent coffee – We have had our machine for over 10 years. Twice it has been in for a service, once had a new boiler. It was the best purchase we have ever made. (various brands/models) always say they cant get their machines to produce coffees like our did. Saeco service in Perth has been 1st class, and because of this and the quality of our machine we wont be replacing our machine with anything but another Saeco machine. Delicious coffee, ease of use, reliability Size, but like everything newer models get smaller.

never again a Saeco! – What an absolute lemon of a machine...my husband bought this for me for my birthday, we could have bought 2.5 of these machines now with the cost of repairs we have incurred over a 4 year period. repaired more times than I can count, and just this afternoon something went phhht when I turned it on...smoke starting billowing out near the display panel, and I'm now throwing it in the bin. How can such an expensive machine have so many problems????? I'm not ever buying a Saeco again, this machine has cost me more time and trouble at such a huge expense, wish to goodness my darling husband had never ever bought it. Not much really, way too big and takes up so much bench space, and so expensive for a machine that rarely worked. I think we absolutely got a lemon...wish we had been offered a replacement by Saeco with early problems, but they kept on saying what a great machine! I don't think I have ever been more disappointed with an appliance in my whole life.

Excellent – I have had my Saeco Magic Deluxe for 7+ years, and it has NEVER let me down. I have only had it serviced when descaling was required (3 times) and I always use filtered water. Even with a proper steel jug, heating and frothing the milk is messy, so I resort to heating milk in the microwave. Otherwise very happy and it is the workhorse of the kitchen!. Design and versatility. 1) Not very hot coffee is dispensed. 2) Messy using the milk frother.

OK – Our machine has received a lot of use, and whatever you might say about it, it has performed sufficiently, but for a $1,000 price tag it wouldn't hurt to be able to brew an outstanding coffee. As already noted, something about its brewing process seems to reduce all coffees to the same taste - this is okay if you want to put cheap coffee into your… Read more

machine, but don't waste your money forking out for a $30/kg coffee because it's not going to make any difference. The real loss with this machine, in my opinion, is that it simply cannot, even with all settings at maximum, produce a really strong brew. Reasonably quick operation. Easy to use. Coffee is adequate though not outstanding. Has been in constant operation for over 2 years, often with as many as 30 cups of coffee in one day without a breakdown. It is very important to clean it - if you don't do so it will develop a smell and fungus will start growing on your machine. This means you have to get right inside the machine from time to time because the device that taps out the used coffee grounds sometimes doesn't do a complete job and grounds get stuck up inside the machine, just above the spent grounds catcher; this is not hard to do, but you need to remember to do it every 6 or so months. There are not enough coffee brewing settings and all coffees out of this machine seem to taste the same - it doesn't matter, expensive of cheap coffee, it seems to get brewed to the same taste. Even at the strongest coffee setting, it's not up to the same strength you would expect from a cafe coffee.

Excellent – I would highly recommend the Saeco range. It's the Rolls-Royce of coffee machines (back when Rolls was owned by the British and made great cars!)... I've had this machine for over 7 years and it's never missed a beat. On average it pumps out 3-5 coffees a day and has never needed a service. I descale it once every 3 months and run the dust-buster… Read more

reliable workhorse – Perfect workhorse for getting that quick coffee going. Quick warm-up, sensible controls, reasonable quality. Obviously, less control than a manual machine, thus less scope for the "perfect cup". Making most of the adjustment options do help. good all-round performance: sensible design, ease of use and quite acceptable quality brew nothing really, but not for the perfectionist coffee addict

Bad – When this machine works (and it did work well for nearly the first 9 months) it was great, replacing a lovely manual machine I had that my wife refused to use because it was messy. Sydney (90 minutes away) to get repaired, and then back on another day to pick it up. And no, it never gets repaired properly as the machine still does not steam milk properly. My guess (from its behaviour and reports on other forums) is that the boiler's done, which makes it uneconomical to repair again. I descale this machine monthly, and clean it weekly. It's a shame it turned out this way, but I wouldn't buy another, nor recommend this to anyone. Saeco, by the way are hopeless with support. When it works, it's great. The one-touch operation makes it pretty much idiot proof (once you've set things up). Read the manual, and this makes pretty good espresso for a manual machine (set the grind to finer, dose to larger, extract a short shot - only 25-30mL) It is NOT reliable. In 3 years it has been back for repairs 10 times (and, no, I am not exaggerating) to 3 different Saeco repairers. I have given up on this machine as currently it takes 7 minutes to steam enough milk for 2 milk-based drinks. The last time I sent it back for a repair (at Saeco in Bankstown) the repairer attempted to demonstrate that he had fixed it by showing me the steam function - which still didn't work - and he said "maybe it needs to heat up a bit more" then STILL took the repair money.

Excellent – This machine, unlike other Saeco machines that we have had, was excellent value for money and very reliable. I want it back!! We had this machine for about 3 years in an office environment. It made great coffee with very few issues or problems. It needed a service about once a year which was not surprising at all given how much use it got! Nothing much at all.
