OK – The other SNS options for convertible boosters (the Explorer and Maxirider AHR) take taller children, so if it's an option you're probably better off getting them. These seats are wide and make it very difficult for fitting other people/seats in the back of the car. As other reviewers have mentioned there are some (not all) cars that the seatbelt… Read more
won't be long enough to fit over the seat in booster mode. It's worth checking the seat out in your car before purchasing. Takes child from around 6 months to 7 years potentially, though most 5-6 year olds will be too tall and too heavy to fit in the seat. Quality fabric, padding and design. Simple to fit to car compared to other convertible boosters. Shorter than other convertible boosters and top level for harness isn't high enough. There's another level higher on the plastic base of the seat, but the fabric etc. cover it because you're supposed to buy the SNS Explorer or AHR to get that level. Very bulky and wide, as most/all convertible boosters are. Difficult and awkward to pack away 5 point harness once little one gets to 18kg.
Excellent – Excellent safe comfortable product packed with features from a well known respected and trusted brand. So happy with seat that we purchased a second one for my mums car so my daughter is as safe as she can be when out and about with nan. We will also be purchasing a 3rd one when baby daughter is ready to move from her convertible rear facing… Read more
seat. Suitable for tall toddlers who are not ready to go into a standard booster seat using only a seat belt as it easily converts from a Car seat using the existing Harness to a booster seat using a protecta harness when they are older. Recline mechanism excellent as my toddler will still sleep in the car on long trips so she can sleep in comfort and have the added safety within the seat that your normal stock standard foam booster just doesn't provide. Not so much a selling point for me but my daughter loves the cup holders and likes to have a snack and a drink in each. Arm rests add a little extra protection and are easily lifted up to get in and out of the seat. The only thing that i could add here is that the seat is fairly wide so with it in the car and a rear ward facing sar seat there is no room for another passenger in the back seat. This wouldn't be a problem in a larger car but for anyone who needs to have 3 child seats across the rear it could pose a problem. For us this is no issue as i would rather ensure the safety of my kids than have a narrower less safe seat just to fit the occasional extra passenger in.
Excellent – Our 2.5 year old has just graduated from his Meridian AHR to the Maxi Rider and we couldn't be happier. He still needed to maintain the 5-point harness, which we could do with this seat but not with other cheaper versions. It is also good to know that once he only requires to use the standard car seatbelt that it can be used with this seat, which… Read more
means we will get many many years out of this booster seat. I love the in-built harness, this is a feature that many of the cheaper booster seats just don't have. The arm-rests are cute and the cup-holders are handy too. The covers are removable, which is arguably critical when considering young children and the messes they can make. Has a very high back, which is great as our little man is quite tall although very young. Many of the other seats available in the market just didn't have sufficient height in the chair. I shopped around for ages and couldn't seem to find them anywhere for under $300, so they are still reasonably expensive.

Perfect for tall children – With the safety of our children paramount, our then 2yr old son had grown taller than the recommended height for his carseat, so I purchased a SNS Maxi Rider II, which he remained in until he was 5yrs old. Our third child was then turning one, and required a taller seat, as she too was too tall for her child seat. She is now 2.5yrs, and the Maxi… Read more
Rider has served her well, and will continue to do so until she is of the correct weight and height for the next stage of seat. Love our Maxi Rider II. Fantastic quality and suits our needs
Good – My son went into this at about 2.5 years old so we could give his other seat to his baby brother. He loved it and definately thought he was in a big boys seat. He is small for his age and did look small sitting in it but he did fit in there very well with plenty of room for growth. He loves the cup holders and I find them very usefull not just… Read more
for drinks but we sometimes put snacks or toys in them. I am very happy and wish that we had bought it earlier to use as a second car seat rather than buy two newborn+ car seats and then this one later. I love the height on the seat and cup holders! Its a wide seat so hard to fit say 3 of these together in the same row.
A good all round convertible seat – A excellent convertible car seat. Would have liked to see a clip or attachment to stop my 18 month old being able to get her arms out due to the seat being wide enough for her to lean from side to side no matter how tight the straps are made. Would also loved to have seen the crotch strap be able to be adjusted as i found my daughter slipped down… Read more

Cover is easily removed for washing, like the idea of the push button to lengthen/shorten shoulder straps. Cup holders are great though still make for hard reaching for my nearly 5 year old. Its suitable from 6 months - 7years Being wide needs a strap or clip across the front to stop arms being pulled out of shoulder straps

OK – I bought this carseat as I wanted a seat with a 5 point harness that then adjusted to using lap sash belt after 18kg. I really don't like the seat in booster mode and have purchased a SnS HiLiner SG instead. If I had researched more thoroughly I would have purchased another 0-18kg seat when needed and gone straight into a HiLiner rather than my… Read more
thinking that buying one booster would do both functions just as well, it doesn't. 5 point harness to 18kg and then adjusts to using lapsash belt
Easy to install and adjust shoulder strap tightness I dislike this product in booster mode with lapsash belt
Very wide base
Terrible – I loved this car seat, until I pulled the cover off to was and seen that the foam protecter at the back had completely split apart and it had never been in an accident. It was from my son hitting his head back in a tantram, if a 2 year old boy can snap it what would happen in a high impact accident? After replacing the foam the center clip wouldnt… Read more
work, it kept letting the right hand side strap unlatch which is obviously very dangerous. Also it always seemed to move even though it was in the car properly (fitted by qld ambulance). I just got a $150 seat from Kmart and its far far better and alot sturdier. I regret buying this seat. Confortable, cup/bottle holder Pricey, poor quality foam inserts, bulky, not very stable.
Bad – it was a great seat and we have three, however have now discovered that when you can no longer use the 5 point inbuilt harness and need to remove them, the seat belt in our ford is not long enough to go around the seat or threw a harness. I have brought these seats because we thought that the kids would not have to have another seat, but without… Read more
buying a seat belt extension which the manufacture tells me is not recommended we have no choice but to sell them. What a waste and it is false advertising that the seat will last!!! great seat when used as restraint. Comfortable, well padded and loved the arm rests been able to come up and down. Cup holders a bonus A STANDARD SEAT BEALT DOES NOT FIT AROUND THIS SEAT WHEN USED AS A BOOSTER

Still going – Still have my 6yo on this seat. Was my other kids first and still in great condition. Takes a pounding day in and day out. He loves havong a cut holder. The 5 point harnes was perfect whem he was smaller, and now with the normal seatbelt it feels mor secure than the free standing types.
ok – ok as a seat for a baby to 3yr old. after that would suggest getting a 'proper' booster seat. I found the seat very 'upright' and wondered if my son was alright with it all the time. My son is now 4 and it is way too bulky for him and us in the car to be used as a booster seat. Really quite inconvenient try to belt him in as a booster seat. For my… Read more
son as a baby to 3yr old good as looked safe and secure. Cupholders great idea. As a 4 yr old too bulky to use as a booster. Securing the chair in putting belt thru back of seat is for small-medium hands, my husband and I have large hands. The inconvenience of this is just too bulky.
Excellent – I think this seat is great and have several friends and relatives who have toddlers with them, Love that they are suitable from 8kg as many boosters say 14kg+ which my daughter wouldn't have been when no. 2 was born. I'd recommend this seat Suitable from 8kg which is great when another child comes along, very comfy, cup holders are great for… Read more
storing little car toys, harness is so easy to adjust, will last until child is out of a car seat, removable cover that can be washed in machine Quite difficult to fit in the car as the gap to put the seat belt through is quite tight - my husband can't get his hands in there, quite expensive compared to some other similar seats
Excellent – Really practical. The best value for money I've ever paid for in a car seat, and believe me, I've been through a few car seats through doing foster care for several years. My daughter is now 7, and still in it! You would be hard pressed to find a better, more practical seat!! High back - brilliant for when your children get taller. … Read more
Comfortable,Very roomy, suitable for all range of ages. Children love the cup holders. Adjustable positioning, Extremely practical! Can't think of anything!

Great Seat for my taller than average little boy – We upgraded from the Safe and Sound Merdian to this after my eldest some got too big for the Meridian. We wanted a seat that had a 4 point harnass as opposed to a normal booster with a lap belt. This seat has worked perfectly for us and my son really enjoys it. Easy to install. Fold out cupholders on both sides are a great plus for putting in a… Read more · 1
few select little toys and his drinks bottle The buckle is a little stiff. Would be nice if he could operate it himself as he is now old enough but it seems to be a little too difficult for him
Fantastic For Taller Kids – After my 2 year old grew out of his convertible 0-4 years car seat, we went on the hunt for a harnessed booster that would be tall enough to last as long as possible before being outgrown. After much research into height and safety we settled on the maxi rider. Suitable for children 6 months to 7 years, it is perfect for taller chilrden and… Read more
converts for use with a lap sash belt, eliminating the need to buy yet another car seat! Super safe, comfortable and with great looks, the Maxi Rider was perfect for our needs! Great taller seat for bigger children, hghly rated in safety, convertible from 5 point harness to lap sash belt and has the option of use with an 'h' harness, Looks great, super comfy and my son loves the cupholders! The base is very wide, which could present a problem if you have three children all requiring harnessed seats. Quite expensive but there is no price on the safety of your child.
Great in between seat – We have used the Maxi rider for 4 of our 5 children so far. We use it from the time the child outgrows their convertible baby seat until they are big enough for a proper booster. I only like it when used with the in built harness. Once our children are too heavy for the in built harness, we move them up to a Safe and Sound Hi-Liner booster. It's… Read more · 2
just easier. Comfortable, well priced and durable. Nice high backed seat for taller kids. My kids have loved the arm rests and cup holders. Horrible to use with a protecta harness. We only got use out of the seat with the inbuilt 5 point harness. Luckily we have younger kids that it gets passed on to. Probably not something I'd buy with the intent of using with just one child unless money was not a deciding factor.
OK – Overall this is a good, sturdy child seat however if you plan on having 3 of these in your back seat (or 2 in a smaller car) i would consider choosing another chair Seems comfortable, suits a child from as young as 6 months up to 7 years old, adjustable arm rests and head rests, cup holders, not overly expensive A standard seatbelt (like our… Read more
commodore)is not long enough if the seat is used as a booster seat, A bit on the bigger side so 3 of these will not fit comfortably in the back of a sedan (we only need one however)
Excellent – The two cup holders are a great idea as my child loves being able to get her own drink. The seat can be tilted back for a younger childs comfort which is good for a young baby. The adjustable head rest offers extra protection for your child in the unfortunate event of an accident. Use from approx age 6 mths to 7 years so you avoid having to buy… Read more
further car seats and booster seats. Seat comes with Adjustable head rest, arm rests and two cup holders. A variety of colours to choose from. You need to purchase a seperate harness when your child gets older.
OK – A great car seat if you only have 1 or 2 children. Too big if you need to fit 3 car seats across the back seat of most cars. Able to use from 8-26 kgs so it can be used for a long time. Anchored into car so doesn't move about, even when used as a booster. Kids love the drink holders. Made by Safe and Sound. Able to use a harness from the same… Read more
anchor point as the car seat. We have a commodore, and the seatbelt is too short to use a harness with the Maxi rider. Ok if just using the seatbelt without the harness. Maxi Rider is very wide, so cannot fit three car seats across our back seat - Maxi Rider is only really suitable if you have two children in safety seats.
Excellent!!! – i found this seat to be excellent. My partner and i are really big on the whole safety thing and we reviewed this product and it just kept popping up all the time, so we decided to but it!!! we have a small 2 door celica and we did have a normal car seat and only at 10 months she looked squished and very uncomfortable when she slept. But now even… Read more
tho being in a small car she has alot of room!!! We brought this from baby kingdom in Narellen, 10% off then purchase in store was another 5% off, item is usually $359 but we brought it for $305!!! The room that it gives ur child, the convenience of the cushions on the straps, the arms rest when up are flushed with the car seat, wouldnt notice them until they were pointed out. The safety!!!! The recliner position, and the material!! the straps do twist, but that is easy fixed, and dont think it changes the safety of the product, had a lil trouble installing it due to small car but fits perfectly!!!
Excellent – We have had this seat for 2 kids and are about to sell it as it's now a bit short - but our youngest is 5 and half so lasted us a while. I don't like using the lap sash only, it doesn't sit properly on their chest has lasted us a few years, cup holders are great, arm rests good belt twists a bit, when the harness becomes too small just using a lap sash belt belt doesn't seem enough
Excellent – my daughter loves her seat, especially the drink holder! we recently had car accident and it provided necessary support. so bought identical seat to replace first! woud buy this seat for my youngest when need to upgrade but will have to look at whether it will fit in car as they are very wide!! my daughter is quite messy and toilet training, but… Read more
we found this seat very easy to dismantle and clean. definately worthwhile purchase if you have space really comfy, drink holder, economical as goes from car seat to booster, very safe huge ~ takes up so much room!!

Excellent – I bought one of these for my eldest daughter and then put another on laybuy for my youngest daughter as I didn't think it was fair that she missed out. The second one I bought only 4 months later and ordered the exact same design/colour (Arcadia) but they are different and the store couldn't seem to help me find out why so I'm stuck. Oh well, it… Read more
doesn't matter that much. The seat itself is great and sturdy and I fit them easily in my hatch back although there is hardly enough room for a person in the middle of them. I feel secure with my girls in these chairs and believe if I had an accident they would be as well protected as they can be. Beautifully comfy looking, cup holders Difficult to install if you don't have small female hands
Good – We have been really happy with the car seat and would be happy to recommend to other families. Just check that you can fit everything in. Love the safety aspects of this product. It is comfortable and I have found it pretty easy to clean and adjust. Much better than the booster seats which just use the car strap. At least you can securely buckle… Read more
your children in even as they get older. My child was an escape artist, so this was really necessary to keep her safely locked in. Plus all the accessories it comes with like the drink holder etc was a definite plus. Is a little on the large side, which is why we bought it originally, however we now have 3 under 5 and it is a bit of a squeeze getting them all in the back seat of our Prado.
Excellent – Much better than the tradition foam boaster seats. The maxi riders are not only safe but stylish. The kids love the cup holders also the fact this seats sits them high. Peace of mind that when traveling with older children that if you are in an accident they should be ok. The seat is very wide. Now we have 4 children and 3 in car seats we have had to buy a new car to fit 2 x maxi riders in.
Excellent – I love the Maxi Rider and wish I had've bought it first up instead of wasting another $200 buying a forward facing seat that only lasted til my son was 18m old (he was fine weight wise but too tall for the 9-18kg model). It's comfortable for my son, has great accessories in seatbelt pads and cup holders, is easy to install, easy to wash, looks… Read more
great and most importantly is the safest seat available for his age/weight. It's brilliant and is the safest you can buy for older toddlers/children. As far as I know, it's the only anchored car seat for older children. You've got to replace the harness once your child reaches 18kg and it costs an extra $70. Add that to the inital cost of almost $300 and this is a pretty expensive buy.
Excellent – I have 3 of these and love them. Ther versatility of these child restraints make them carry throug with your child from 6 months right through to being used as a booster. I also like that when being used as a booster they are still bolted into your car and makes me feel that it is more safe for my children. The padding also make them quite… Read more
comfortable. I love that you can have your child in this seat from 6 months then goes right through. I also like that once they are too heavy to use the 5 point harness you can then use it with a H harnes. When using for a younger child you are able to put it in a slight recline position and my children love the cup holders and the hood. The material can sometimes fade. can be a little hard to get the seat belt threded through the back.
Excellent – It is very plush and comes in the same colour as the baby seat so they match each other! It takes your toddler through to 28 kilos which is more than most booster seats, and is a lot safer than most booster seats as well. The arm rests move up, making it easy to put your child in the car. It is more expensive than other booster seeats but if you… Read more
shop around you can get a great deal, and it is well worth it. I will recommend this seat to anyone! It is very comfy and lasts up to 28 kilos - more than most! Has 2 cup holders and moveable arm rests. The seatbelts twist themselves and it can be quite hard to untwist them when in a rush! The cups in their holders can't be reached by little toddlers.
Excellent – I love this seat we just bought it for my 3yr old as she has outgrown her convertible car seat and i wished we had got it for her earlier. She says it is very comfortable and it will last her till she no longer needs a car seat. Easy to install, very well padded, recline position for sleeping, great fabric. The only thing is the price is a little high but really the other convertible booster seats are more expensive than this one.
Excellent – Well worth the money as it combines comfort, functionality and safety. My daughter was strapped into a Maxi Rider when our car was involved in a nose to tail accident and subsequently 'written off' (it was a large sedan). She was totally unharmed and did not suffer whiplash. I attribute this to her being in the Maxi Rider. Versatile design and… Read more
large size means it is suitable for children up to 26kgs - the only anchored car seat I have found that allows this. Safe and sturdy construction with large side wings and very comfortable padding. Excellent safety reputation and free replacement by Safe n Sound if involved in an accident. Easy to install. Plush cover removes for washing. My children both love their Maxi Riders. New harness is necessary once children reach 18kgs - an added expense of $60-$80.
Excellent – We are really happy with this booster seat. I have reccommended it to many friends and they think it is fantastic also. We looked around at many different booster seats when it was time to upgrade from the fisher price one we had (which was newborn to 18kg), and found this to be the best one!! A very safe car seat, the weight range for this car… Read more
seat is 8-26kg, has movable arm rest, cup holders on either side, messy mat that came with it for underneath car seat and extra insert also. Nothing at all, it is a bit more expensive than some other booster seats but is definately well worth it - a great buy.
Excellent – The maxi rider is a safe booster and both of my older children have one. It is an expensive outlay is well worth it as they last for many years. Some reviews have stated that you must buy another harness once the child reaches 18kg, but I'm not certain that is the case. I believe the Protecta harness is an option, but I could be wrong. followed the instructions and used the lap sash in combination with the anti-submarine clip and the sash locator clip and strap which is included with the seat. Safe, comfortable, converts to a booster seat. My daughter loves the cup holders. The arm rests fold up and down so it is easer to place child in the seat.
OK – I have to agree with the other reviews, the maxirider is a fantastic seat for 14+ kg but once past the 18kg limit for the 5 point harnesss it is useless in our car as the seat belt will not reach across the seat to do up comfortably. In all honest I wish I had of tried the seatbelt out before purchasing, in which case I would have brought… Read more
something that would last longer for our child. Certainly an expensive less to learn. Great seat until 18 kgs Once out of 5 point harness, seatbelt doen's fit across car seat
