Excellent capsule – Best decision was buying this capsule. I shopped around and tried many different types before settling with this one. Excellent quality, easy to install, excellent size. Capsule is also compatible with my Redsbaby pram. Show details · 1
Saved my daughters life! – This is hands down the best car seat from day one, we were hit from behind at 90kms a hour with someone on their phone the car was totaled but our daughter was safe no damage to the car seat what so ever i fully trust this brand and our next car seat will be another britax Show details · 1
Fits a smaller car – We bought this capsule because it was the smallest we could find. It works well with our car. We also wanted to buy a compatible stroller that wouldn't require any special adapters but its hard to find reliable information. The website just states "This capsule is suitable for use with all Click & Go™ compatible Strollers (no receivers required)". What are the compatible strollers? Show details · 2
Consider alternatives – I purchased this capsule due to the ability to use for up to 12 months and being suitable for low birth weight babies. I had been considering another branded capsule which was for only up to 6 months, but thought the Britax would be both safer and easier to use, plus connect seamlessly to my pram. I wish I had paid the extra to get pram adapters… Read more
and the other capsule. There is no way you could carry this capsule with a 12 month old baby - it is uncomfortable to carry with a 5 month old weighing 7kg, and was quite difficult in the months after an emergency c-section.
In fairness, I found the isofix capsule easy to install but that is the only positive. The position of the capsule is far too upright for newborns - multiple friends and family members have commented on this, and I have pulled over on more than one occasion because I’ve been concerned about head slump. It would be an improvement if the crotch strap was padded on the sides rather than hard plastic as it digs in to my baby’s thighs, leaving red marks on even short drives - there is no way to prevent this to my reckoning. Securing the strap to the back of the capsule is cumbersome, particularly if you have the sunshade on, and the buttons to change the position of the handle need too much effort or the ability to contort yourself from the side of the car.
The final straw is the useless sunshade - it doesn’t provide any protection from glare and is not weather proof. Not worth trying to transition your baby from car to pram in sun or inclement weather, they wake up immediately.
If only refunds were possible after trying to make the best of this the capsule for the past 5 months.
Not impressed unfortunately – I personally don’t see how this capsule is suitable for newborns/premmies. There is so much room around my babies head, it is not well supported at all. It really should have another insert to support a newborns head. I can’t say I’m overly impressed, sadly.
Unsafe for newborn: too upright – Purchased this capsule to ensure we had the most current and safe capsule for our newborn. The lack of recline makes our sons head flop forward, which comprises his airway. We have reclined the base as instructed but does not fix the issue. After spending time in the capsule my son started frothing at the mouth. We own other Britax Seats and love… Read more
them but not happy at all with this purchase due to the safety risk with lack of recline and unsuitability for a newborn.

Favourite Capsule! – PROS: - LOVE that it goes until 12 months of age or until the child meets the height markers, my daughter's always been fussy getting her in and out of car seats so it was great being able to put her in and out of the car in the comfort of our own home rather than trying to get her in the car in the rain outside! - Doesn't take up too much room… Read more · 1
in the car. - Daughter seems comfy with lots of room to grow even at 12 months and she is average height and weight. - Easy to install. - Can attach to many different types of Prams.
CONS: - Heavy with and without the child in it. - The hood you pull over to protect the child from sun or rain is a piece of material that doesn't do much and is hard to try clip onto the carry handle in a hurry, much prefer the click forward ones, can't even remember how many times I dropped the material hood on my daughter's face trying to put it on in the rain and heat. - Have to buy the adaptors to connect to a pram separately at extra cost.
The Pros definitely outweigh the Cons for us, we love it and hope that we can use it for our second child.
Seriously concerned about safety for baby – My seat was purchased 2 months before my son was born & professionally installed. At 7 weeks, his head fell forward during a 20 minute car ride. His airways were compromised and when I got him out of the capsule (immediately upon arriving home) he had a fit/seizure from what drs have told me was shock after oxygen returned to his body. alarmed to see how many other parents have concerns about young children's head placement in this capsule. We are very lucky that no permanent damage was done but now I am seriously concerned about taking my child in the car. I have tried to contact Britax's customer service by phone to discuss this but was not able to get through. Very disappointed to have spent $400 on a product that does not appear to be safe to use.

Too small – Says it is suitable for approx birth-12months. How could any 12 month old baby fit in this capsule? My son outgrew it by 4 months old! (He is a larger baby- maybe about the size of an average 6 month old) but still, 4 months. Totally not worth the money

Regrettable purchase – I regret buying this capsule. It was installed professionally. But It's too heavy/impractical, the harness is temperamental to tighten and gets caught which is difficult to secure firmly, the angle of the capsule allows the baby's head to flop forward/there is inadequate head support and the straps dig into the baby's thighs, pinching and leaving… Read more
pretty severe red marks on the thighs that hang around for a long time. I am convinced it makes sleeping in the car difficult for my baby. I have used this capsule for two babies now and each time I took it out after a few weeks. Really disappointing to be honest. Love the brand. Hate the capsule.

Terrible design, not the best for comfort – Capsule weighs a ton compared to the US equivalent which we were given for second hand use. The only thing convenient about this was the fact that you could just pull it out of the car and straight onto the pram (but was still a challenge due to the weight with a baby in there). Some other items which weren't too great were: 1. Terrible sun… Read more
canopy design. You slide in onto the side of the carry handle and gets in the way of the sidewall and the carry handle itself! You could not adjust one without retracting the other.
2. Belts are poorly designed. We used it for 5 months and at least you could mark one side of the belt so you would know which way the top. We spent a lot of time adjusting the 'twists' since the belt holders didn't keep the belts out of the way when putting baby into the capsule. They were just useless.
3. Balance. When I retracted the carrying handle so we can place baby in, the whole capsule would just fall backwards. It doesn't really have a stable bottom, not very handy when I've got baby in one arm and trying to balance the capsule with the other.
4. Comfort. It's got bamboo thermo lining for comfort? Not sure what that means but baby was screaming one a few occasions and we just thought he was hungry. Pulled him out and he was like a little heater pack, and we even had the air cond on full blast in winter with just a single layer on him. Maybe he just outgrew it but his shoulders was still below the recommended line and we even took off the removable padding since it looked it was cramming him into the capsule.
5. Tether strap. This thing could be easy to put on but the lip that keeps the sun canopy in place is designed too close to where we put the tether strap. Very frustrating when I've strapped it up only to realise that I've looped it into the wrong guides.
6. Positioning. Probably just the vehicle, own 2 Volkswagens but the base doesn't sit evenly on either of the back seats. As per their recommendation, placed a rolled up towel under there to keep it even to the ground but at least build a base which can tilt at a wider angle..
Quality was well built, I can give Britax that but I was a little surprised that their silver logo started to wear out.. Not a big deal but they could at least put some effort in keeping their logo intact so it doesn't look like some cheap brand that deteriorates. They do definately need to look at their design though, as I mentioned, the US version was a perfect lightweight capsule but could not be used in Australia since it was missing the anchor + top tether strap.
Would buy again, very handy – Our capsule was purchased secondhand and still in very good condition. As our baby was on the larger side, i didnt think he would be in it for long. Installation was easy enough. We used a seat protector which made it more sturdy including a gated buckle to get more tension on the seat belt strap once locked in. is getting baby in and out without disturbing him. The handle adjusts well and fits the hand nice. The locking mechanism is easy to use and the hood is good to cover up. The only annoying thing is running the anchor strap around the back of the carrier and locating the clips. A better system could be used here, because I could see it deterring people from using it.
It was also compatible with our bob motion stroller and does have aftermarket receivers for different strollers ( sold separately).
All in all its a great product and we would certainly use again in the future. Transporting baby couldn't be any easier.
Definitely doesnt last 12 months – This capsule is ok. Honestly I wish that we skipped it and went straight to a normal car seat instead because it didn't last us half as long as I would have expected Pros: - Compatible with the bugaboo pram so you don't have to wake bub when you get out of the car (you must buy an adapter for it though which costs you extra) - Doesn't take… Read more
too much space. However I do have to have the seat slightly more forwards in our Mazda 6
- Convenient when you want to carry bub in it (before they get too big)
- Easy to install
- Good safety rating
Cons:
- Doesn't last anywhere near 12 months like advertised. My bub has grown out of it by 4 months (he is an average sized baby - if anything he is on the smaller side compared to other babies his age in my mother's group). We didn't get as much use out of this capsule as I would have liked. Wish we just got a car seat instead cos its too expensive for an item that only lasted 4 months.
- Heavy - for a newborn it is ok but now that bub is 4 months old, its getting really heavy to lift and carry it
- Fabric is not breathable at all - bub is always getting too hot and sweating in the capsule even though we always have the aircon in the car. Even on cooler days bub still gets sweaty because the fabric is not breatheable. Additionally bub gets too hot and sweaty in it when we go to the shopping centre so that kind of detracts from the convenience of using the capsule with the pram. They need to introduce better fabric for the capsule.
- Infant insert provides no head support. We only used it for a couple of weeks before bub grew out of it
- Harness near the legs is not afjustable and thus digs into my baby's legs a bit
- Sunshade regularly pops off

Absolutely Hated It! – I bought the unity to go with my bugaboo. I have a 2015 VW Tiguan and it absolutely won't install correctly in the back. Even trained people couldn't make it sit correctly. My four-month-old son falls forward in it because there is virtually no recline. Don't be fooled by the images you'll find of this capsule - once installed, the base must be at… Read more
such a tilt that the seat is almost upright. Definitely not ideal!!
I originally bought this capsule over the Maxi Cosi Mico for the extra life that the unity was going to give (5 months in the Mico v 12 in the unity) but I honestly stopped using this as a travel system two months ago and already want to move my son out of it at four months. Wish I'd bought the Mico. Hated this!!
Good design – Went with this one after weighing up the pros and cons from the reviews on here, we got the isofix model and it fits well in our 2014 kia sportage. I like the idea of it clicking straight into a pram without disturbing the baby, the top straps are fiddly but i guess most straps are? Would have preferred a solid isofix mount on the base but there… Read more
don't seem to be any available on the Australian market just yet? Still, the anchor points work well and it locks it in to place nice and tight. It is expensive as most capsules are ($400 delivered country victoria) but it sure beats getting an el cheapo reversible one from target or somewhere. Its worth noting too that its the only one designed with premature babies in mind.
