Difficult and costly to get replacement accessories – For a $350 capsule it is extremely disappointing that Britax will not sell me a replacement canopy, unless I buy a whole new cover set for $151. Frankly I just don’t have that kind of money sitting around to replace a whole set of covers that I don’t need. I have just purchased the infant carrier sunshade that britax markets as a ‘universal’… Read more

sunshade, but it is useless without the canopy. For a large company I feel that this is unacceptable and I would have expected better customer support from a better ad like Britax

A fair capsule suitable for use with a preemie baby, if you buy the extra padding – Our baby came early and was low birth weight (2.2kg). As we already had the capsule, I was worried the baby would roll around. I bought the (sold separately) low birth weight insert and found it to work well. On the flip side, I really don't see how a low birth weight baby could safely be placed in the capsule without the insert, there is just so… Read more ·  1

much room for them.

Installation was a pain as I couldn't get the seat tight enough. After going to a professional for installation, it's all fine now.

The capsule itself is pretty heavy, let alone with a baby inside of it. It is a two hand job to get out of the car.

All up the capsule does what it needs too. If you have a 'regular' baby and are strong enough after pregnancy this capsule could work for you.

Terrible Design for newborns – I purchased this capsule as part of a bundle with my redsbaby metro3 pram and was really excited to use the click and go system especially when the baby is sleeping but it’s just not practical. The tether is a hassle every time you want to get the seat in or out you have to pull the capsule on an angle to get the strap off it's so tight! It's also… Read more

very heavy with baby in it especially once they start putting on weight I had to give up by 5 months as it was just to heavy for me to click in and out onto the pram. Keeping in mind I also had an emergency C section so it's weight wasn't practical for me.

My partner installed car seats through his work and installed our capsule exactly to their instructions and his knowledge, yet our newborns head would constantly fall forward in it because there is virtually no recline once it was installed, the way the base has to sit on the car seat It is the most upright capsule I have seen. Definitely not ideal and dangerous for the babies head to flop forward!

I was originally looking at this capsule or the Maxi Cosi Mico, I honestly wished I didn't go with the bundle and just bought the maxi Cosi seperate. For the extra life that the unity was going to give me (12m in the unity vs 6m in the Mico) It's not even worth it as it seems I Myself and other reviewers on here have taken their babies out much earlier than intended.

I wouldn’t recommend this capsule to anyone and I couldn't wait to get rid of it! I thought Britax was a great Australian brand, I myself 30 years ago was placed in one of their first desinged capsules so naturally we thought they only could have gotten better! we were so wrong.

Defective and unsafe – After my first daughter passing away from medical negligence in 2019, I'm super careful with brands I select for my second daughter. Absolutely perfect for our needs – We bought this capsule as it is was compatible with our pram we purchased and we have been so happy with it. Suits our needs perfectly, our bubs who is 9 weeks old always looks so comfortable in it, almost always falling asleep in it as soon as we start driving. Easy to bring in and out of the car. Super easy to clean if baby has a little vomit.… Read more ·  1

We were able to remove all fabric parts of the seat, pop in the was for a clean and then easily put back together. Great quality, you won't be disappointed.

Bub loves it! – Bub’s really comfortable with it. I could tell he’s so happy when using it as he can fall asleep. We usually use it when roaming around with the pram too. Love it! – I have absolutely loved this car seat for my first baby, and I’ll be definitely using it again for the next kid. Bub has used this since she was a newborn, and is still in it at 9 months. it is to click in and out, to take out of the car when needed. It has been great for putting in my steel craft strider delux pram. The whole capsule base is easy to install and take out of the car too. We regularly switch the capsule and base between mine and my husband’s car. The bamboo padding fabric is easy to pop into the washing machine when it gets dirty as well. I would highly recommend this product and am so glad I bought this capsule instead of a 0-4 seat (as there has been so many times I was able to bring the capsule out of the car into the house/pram etc while bub was sleeping)!

Disappointed & unsafe – I am very dissatisfied with this capsule, the straps that sit across my babies thighs did into him making him uncomfortable & his head always flops forward regardless of adjusting the angle that it's set at. Good capsule, reasonably priced – We used the capsule for about 9 months - although would have preferred those with range 0-4 yrs to save some money. Baby bunting could waive off our fee for installation but they didn't and on top of that, they sold us a towel worth $15 to install it in the car. Bad experience on installation part. Show details ·  1

From Newborn this is pretty much a must – We are now using this for baby #2 and still love it and strongly (and frequently) recommend it. The reason for 4* rather than 5 is because I felt there was still room for improvement (listed below). We have the Black version with bamboo material which was a nicer texture than the other but at time of purchase the same price. Both babies have… Read more ·  1

loved this and for the most part have slept in it for the entire duration of most journeys so it is obviously quite comfortable! (Just did a trip to the coast and hour each way and not a peep)

The primary reason we went for this one initially was ease of use. Once the permanent base is installed the process of getting the capsule in and out of the car literally takes seconds click in/eject out. As the child is already strapped into the capsule it provides additional protection between the home and the car (We have some pretty lethal steps outside our house). Also if the baby is asleep then it is better to get them out indoors which simply isn't possible with a regular car seat.

I wasn't as keen on the Britax push chair base so we use the Britax Capsule on the Baby Jogger - City Select Stroller push chair base with some adaptors ($60 but worth it as they make a fantastic combo) and with the chair component from the Baby Jogger it means we now have a pram/buggy that can take both kids at the same time. By the time our second born needs to upgrade our firstborn will no longer need it. So on the push chair front we are pretty much home and dry.

We normally use this in our Subaru Outback but have managed to fit it + 4 adults into a Nissan Micra hire car. It didn't impact leg room for the front passenger too much either though the person in the back middle wasn't so comfortable :-).

My only criticisms are: (Mostly irritations/room for improvement rather than problems - Hence 4 stars) - The hood was never quite the same after being washed following an impressive puke (It went all limp) - Installing the base is a bit of a faf. Though thankfully not a frequent requirement - Trying to get the restraining strap into the bits at the back is not easy especially with a limp hood. - The buckles can some how end up twisted through 180degrees. This is difficult to fix. - It is sometimes difficult to release the straps

Handy, but not worth the price – Bought this capsule because I liked that it should last longer and it has the click-n-go system. Well, my daughter is not even 4 months old and she's hit the height marker. Granted she is a bigger than average baby, but she's not a giant, so I'm disappointed that it doesn't have the longevity it promises (apparently other mum's I've spoken to have… Read more

had the same problem). The capsule is also very heavy to lift and move around, even without baby in it, which isn't great when you're still recovering from birth. The installation was overly complicated, and the instructions were not clear at all - even the fitter said he hates installing them because they're so fiddly and they never sit right. Much like other mum's, I found the harness dug into her thighs and made her quite uncomfortable, and the thermo-5 just made her overheat. Overall, I'm quite disappointed in this capsule and I won't be using it again when we have another baby.

Don’t give up on the capsule too soon – I had a similar experience to Bek with the capsule initially. There were a few times I thought I’d broken the baby’s neck as her head flopped so far forward at a such an awkward angle while she was sleeping. When I… Read more

took it to Baby Bunting to have them check the installation they told me they almost always ignore the angle line and install the capsule somewhere between 40-50degrees. This involved the use of a few towels to prop it up into a better position. If you have this capsule and are having the same issues, I’d highly recommend getting it professionally installed. You can also buy a newborn insert that will help cushion their head a bit more if you have a tiny baby like I did. I actually feel much safer and really like the capsule now.

Positive points are that it’s very convenient and clips nicely into the pram and the baby seems to love it. I do find the straps dig into her thighs too and I haven’t worked out how to adjust them yet but she doesn’t seem bothered by them.

Overall it’s a pretty good capsule. I don’t know if the other ones on the market would be any different. The man who installed my capsule said that most of them have the same problem with the installation angle and that Britax was one of the better ones available.

didn’t seem to work well as my baby was always hot and damp from sweat. The seat belt cut into his thighs and couldn’t be adjusted. It also didn’t seem to support his head when he slept.

The only good thing about this capsule is it looks good teamed with the steelcraft agile pram...but looks aren’t everything.

We ended up purchasing the Britax Millenia to try instead. We sat baby in it in the shops and it already seems way better. Installation was quite simple too.

Safety and reliability are the first choice – The brand has always had its own choice, this brand is recommended by others, focusing on child safety seats, safe and reliable is the first choice. Exquisite workmanship, the little baby at home is very fond of sitting. Tilt adjustment is also very convenient. The baby is sitting up and not crying, it’s much easier to go out now.  Show reply

The perfect capsule if you don’t plan on moving the base – I was thinking of getting to black version with ISO technology and also it has the bamboo fabric which is super soft but was told by the sales assistant that I wouldn’t need it since the ISO is good if you plan to move the car seat which we don’t. Very easy to connect with pram – I bought this so I could use it as a travel system on my Steelcraft Agile Elite pram (dark chambray). Britax series. We had decided to go for a steelcraft strider compact pram and bought a pair of connectors/receivers. Easy to carry lightweight capsule and matches perfectly with our Dark chambray steelcraft pram. The sit has been professionally installed by the people at baby bunting for $45. Our Bub was born a little early and so we were anxious to carry him in the capsule which looked quite big for a small Bub. However it was perfect for small babies with their newborn insert. Bub did fit perfectly from day 1 and still does at 10 months. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a travel system, go for the unity neo especially if your Bub is going to be on the smaller side or you want a capsule sit with a rear facing option until Bub is around one year.

This has been amazing! – My baby and family has loved this from birth and still using at 9 months. She has her best sleeps in it when she falls asleep in the car and then Cary her inside! Good Capsule – I bought this capsule in a rush in the "End of Financial Year Sale" at Babybunting. and looks and feels like a quality product. My son looks extremely comfortable and cosy sat in it. I can click the capsule in an out easily. It needs to be reinforced with seat belts which is fiddelly but i think all capsules work the same. We had it installed by the baby bunting sub-contractors. We can take him and and out of the car without waking him, but he is a very good sleeper anyway.

If anything i think the question for most parents is... should i bother buying a capsule?

Bear in mind that i think this capsule is 4kg. At 3.5 months my son is 6kg... thats 10kgs to lift and out of the car at the moment and getting heavier. And this product is designed for unto 12 months. NO WAAAY. Once it gets too heavy we'll just be using it like a car seat. Its a reputable brand and is compatible with many prams we checked out.

In hindsight i would have bought a secondhand one, but i would be happy if the second hand one was this one!

Good Capsule Overall – I have this capsule and like that it is compatible with a lot of pram models. I found that it is quite bulky and takes up a lot of space length ways (encroaches somewhat on the seat in front) but if you have a larger car it isn’t an issue. It is quite heavy once the baby grows bigger and so I wouldn’t recommend attempting to use it up until the recommended weight unless you are super fit and strong as it can hurt your back sometimes.  Show reply

The another advantage is is it can be used upto 12 months where most other capsules are only for 6 months. allow a child to use it for up to 12 months. In hindsight, I probably wouldn't have gotten a capsule. I am not sure about other capsules but this one is very heavy. Even a 7lb baby is hard to carry in it. Babies don't feel overly heavy until you are holding them down by your side in a car seat. The capsule itself had to be installed professionally as it isn't a simple install. The capsule is relatively easy to get in and out of the car, however, you do need to put the seatbelt over the top of the capsule and this can be time-consuming, although sometimes I can do it in seconds. The straps on the capsule itself keep getting twisted and this is driving me nuts, I need to get to the back of the capsule and re-thread all of the strapping as it has somehow gotten itself all twisted. My 5month old still has a bit of room before she gets the shoulder height marker, but there is no way I would be able to lift this capsule with a 12-month-old in it. I think this is true of all capsules though, and the Unity specifically is a reasonable choice if you do decide to use a capsule.

in the infant insert and has heaps of room.

Was easy to install base in car and easy to get capsule in and out, although if your are not careful can make a loud child-waking clunk when you click it into place. It is also easier to get child in and out if you don't have the handle in the forward most position as otherwise have to manoeuvre carefully to avoid head bumping. Straps take a little practice to become proficient at positioning and buckling, but assume this is true of any capsule.

Is one of the heavier capsules on the market and you do feel the weight if carrying for a distance and will only get heavier as child grows. However feel that extra weight may be of advantage during accident.

Works excellently with Thule Urban Glide capsule adapter.
