Shame it's discontinued – This phone was great, it didn't have any bloatware, updates always came quick, there was minimal lag time and it was easy to use. The main detraction would be the camera didn't take good photos in low light; the flash never worked that we'll. Camera aside, it's a shame it's discontinued as it was a great all rounder phone apart from that. Show details
Best phone I've ever purchased – I've dropped it a million times, still works perfectly and barely has a scratch. Its still speedy as ever and can keep up with all the new software and updates. Camera is fantastic. My only real con is the Battery life and the charger plugin. This is my second year using it so the battery life depleting is fair enough, and I'm pretty rough… Read more · 1
with the charger port. Also this is probably the problem with 99% of smartphones these days really. If you're going to use them the battery will die out. Price, Reliability, Durability. Battery Life.
Good Phone – I received this on a $29 plan and have found it it be a very good phone with just a few small flaws. The screen is sharp with good colours and contract, the touch screen is precise and easy to use. The Apps have to be sources from Google as they developed the operating system, but are nearly as plentiful as Apps from Apple for their phones. The… Read more
major problem seems to be the battery life, it requires recharging even if not used for 24-30 hours, and the ringer volume even when on full cannot always be heard if there is mid-level background noise.
Reception is equal to my partner's iPhone in our area Excellent screen, good reception, easy to use Poor battery life, low ring level
Best Phone I've Ever Had – It's an excellent phone, very hard to fault.I couldn't be happier with it. It's fast, and very light. It's got good WiFi and 3G connections, the play store is great, allowing you to pay with your Telstra account, and it'll run just about any app effortlessly. The big screen on a light, easy to hold phone, noticeably bigger and lighter than that of… Read more
an iPhone is a standout feature. You'll wonder how you ever went without it. It could be improved with an SD slot and a better camera, but that's about it. Big screen, light weight, powerful No expandable memory,
Best and Fastest phone ever – I was told that this phone wouldnt be the best for me by the telstra sales person at my local shopping centre, however after having an iphone 3gs and 4, i was wanting something with a bigger screen, and wow is it amazing. Fast, crystal clear, and taking photos are HD quality better than both my previous iphones. Definately recommend for a phone,… Read more · 1
but not a tablet. Really fast, clear images, customisable Battery, mutlitasking always has applications open that cannot be forced closed.
better than the 4s – Had hardly any issues with my Samsung galaxy. Only problems I have had with it is that if you don't have reception for a while it won't pick it up again when you come in range and you either turn it off and on or put in and out of flight mode. The other thing is that its not very popular so finding covers and accs is a pain. screen size and… Read more
quality. better camera than my partners 4s by a bit. uncommon phone so hard to get things for it, reception issue
Fit only for the trash can. Rating 0/5 – The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the most untrustworthy and unreliable mobile phone almost anyone could imagine. It has a will of its own. It does not wait for instruction from the operator but rather often enters its own unauthorised, random keystrokes etc. willy-nilly all over the place - while I was just sitting looking at the screen. touchscreen was often unresponsive to touch, including not allowing me to answer incoming calls. I bought this Nexus brand new in January 2012 and in the first 1 week of use have had lots of these problems. This phone is fraught with problems. Do not trust this phone with any banking app - better still, don't buy one. After only the first one week of use I have gone back to using my trustworthy and reliable Apple iPhone 4. I bought the Nexus from Kogan.com.au who imported it from Hong Kong. Rating: 0/5. Note: This website would not accept a 0 rating therefore I had to give it a 1 star rating to get it accepted.
It got me excited – The first Android 4 phone offered by Telstra :) I am excited. I got the phone and the phone with its Android 4.0.1 is excellent, but wait...... Firmware issues :( This phone offers the best of Android 4 to a tablet level, however this is supported by Google and not Samsung. For a start Samsung Kies is not compatible with this phone. have to do all updates manually and the auto update is not available because it always reads no update available.
Coverage is rubbish, either for Next G or Wi-Fi. A firmware issue that is in excusable.
Luckily I am IT Savvy (IT Consultant by Trade), I have to unlock and root this phone before I could upgrade the Android OS. And great news, the firmware issue with coverage is better with Android 4.0.4 and looks to be resolved in Android 4.1.
Warning, at the time of this review 4.1 is listed as not compatible with the Nexus Prime but it works, upgrade at your own risk.
This phone is great, but to keep it updated you need to be IT Savvy.
Great phone but sorry Samsung / Google, your support and updates are terrible. Fully functional, fast and easy to use Manual updates only, no support from Samsung and Google do not get back to you.
Never been so excited about a phone before – In this day and age where every other persons uses an iPhone, this phone is a refresher.I have had this phone for just over a month and must admit, it has been a delight to use it. I am normally not a review writing person and am known to be very fussy about small things. But this little handheld gadget has surely won me over! Lots. As I was… Read more
browsing the store for a new phone, this one caught my eye straightaway. It's slim sexy curved profile with a precision cut gorilla glass just felt right. It's bigger but lighter than iPhone 4s. The resolution and brightness, although not as good as the retina display, but is delightful in its own right.I love the Android Ice Cream Sandwich, it's the original version and not the facelift some other phones got from Honeycomb. It's simple and intuitive to use. Does not take getting used to as the iPhoene does. I love its massive touch screen. There is a lot of customizability. If you are not using the GPS, bluetooth, wifi constantly, the battery easily lasts for a full day, even with heavy talking and texting. Love the way I can talk to it and get it to make a phone call or send a text message when I am driving, and it does work! The settings are right on the home screen on a pulldown menu which is really handy. The battery sign is blue when it has ample charge left but turns yellow when gets lower. I love how I can see all the push notifications right from my home screen and swipe from side to side to discard them. Let's me use it as a storage and has the drag and drop functionality which iPhone shamefully doesn't have. It recognizes when I am in a known wifi zone and preferentially uses the wifi for Internet access. It has made a voice recorder, a watch, a diary, a calculator and many other gadgets redundant.. When connected to charger, it does not make a noise or gives a light. The camera is pretty ordinary for such a great phone. So is the speaker. Has a plastic back cover which you have to be careful not to break when you are opening the back cover.
Would Defo recommend the Galaxy Nexus – Ok will get the only bad think out the way first, if you want to sync to Outlook locally on your PC like you can with iTunes with a iPhone, you can’t do it straight out of the box. You can use software called CompanionLink (google it) which costs a one off $49 and I’ve been trailing it for 10 days now and it works very well. You can sync through… Read more
your Wi-Fi to your Outlook on your PC with your phone anywhere in your home. All contacts, to-do, tasks, calendar all synced great!
Ok onto the good things, I’ve come from a iPhone and this phone is excellent compared, probably better in all areas by a tiny margin. The battery life I’ve read is poor but honestly its great unless your addicted to using it all day.
Some areas in the OS are much better than iPhone, for example the ability to in detail look at your battery usage and see what’s using it through the day. The ability to on the phone enter your data allowed each month and cap it on the phone so you never have a surprise phone bill again, great!
I would totally recommend this phone; get one as your next smart phone. looks great, good battery, better OS (Andorid) than Apple iOS No Outlook sync out of the box but there is a solution CompanionLink (google it
Magic Touch – Bright Big Screen, Awesome Camera. Fast Internet and easy storage of Contacts. Only disadvantage would be if you are not familiar with a TouchScreen it could get a tad annoying. But I love you can turn the screen off to blackout mode (save powder) - no alarm clock, no worries turn your touch phone into a bedside clock feature. Highly recommend to the confident touch phone user Energy Efficient, big screen
