A perfect phone! – I bought this phone for my son and he loved it. It was working beautifully even with my son's continuously playing games. He was using it most of the time for more than three years. We bought it with a phone plan and was a very good value for money.  Show details

The best phone created – This isn't just my favourite phone. It was also the very best smartphone of its time in the late 2000''s. The Galaxy S3 is perfect for any user type as android allows a great customizabe range of features to truly make this phone your own. However if you have or want to purchase this device make sure you don't update to latest android OS as it will lag this awesome phone.  Show details

This is my last Samsung Galaxy – Well, they may be cheap to buy but the problem is they dont last! I am going back to Apple. My iphone 4 probably works better than this Galaxy S3 even though it is 2 generation behind. What I had was a quality problem with the memory chip. Initially the phone would just turned off by itself. Thought it was a battery problem. A new battery did… Read more

not fix this up. And then later on it just died. The diagnosis was that the main memory chip needed replacement.

No thank you. I am switching back to Apple. Cheap to buy doesnt mean you get a robust product.

Not 4G compatible – Galaxy 3 is now too old and will not work with the Telstra (and other provider) systems now that they are going to 4G and switching off the older systems. Be ok if you don't want to do data intensive or travel outside capital cities or keep the phone for more than say a year.

pretty good phone – This phone is pretty good. I like it. But it's video camera image is not very clear all the time even though it is set on very high image quality. Also I wish alarm tones were louder and I wish the wifi function was stronger and more sensitive to show more open networks.

Good phone – Bought it second hand from ebay, enjoyed a long and happy service life. Like Samsung phones so much I just upgraded to a Galaxy S5. Bought a new one this time. I prefer to buy a phone outright and go for BYO Sim card deals. It works out much cheaper in the long-run and you are not locked into a long contract. Most people just look at the monthly… Read more

bill and forget to analyse cost per call, flagfall, monthly data allowance, SMS MMS International call rates and roaming charges. And those slick sales staff don't help much. They only want to sell you the plan that makes the most profit for them. The phone - highly recommended - and their successors. Easy to navigate, lots of features, practical, never had a screen breakage.

Enough to use internet – I have been using this phone for nearly 4 years only Galaxy S3. First time, I used IPhone4 but I have changed to Samsung this phone because easy to use especially phonebook. IPhone doesn't have categories by alphabet order and it took a time to find phone number. But Galaxy is able to sort by name. Only thing is that easy to crack. need to be very… Read more

careful. But it is easy to check internet and use applications. I am very good and satisfied with this phone. If my contact is up, I would get another Galaxy.

Good phone, but not 4G – It was a great phone when I bought it and a real step up from the last one. But it's now dated because it doesn't have 4G. I hope to upgrade soon.

Good phone. Battery life bad – Ok phone. Everything works as it should. Two years old now. Only fault is battery life is poor. If using for maps and have gps on, make sure you have a charger. Will be flat within 3 hrs from fully charged. Have had battery issues since brand new and have purchased a new battery and same issues.

Great phone – I really like my samsung. Got it for a great price and it is easy to use. Links easily to my email and texting is really quick. Overall happy. Officeworks matched online price plus 5% off. It is not a bad way to do it. Good cheap covers on ebay. Can replace when when they start looking daggy.

Absolute rubbish! – Bought this phone thinking it was the best thing on the market but what a mistake that was. After only a year, the phone has started to break down! It turns itself on and off, freezes for 30-40 minutes at a time, at which point I cannot receive/make calls or messages, alarms won't go off, or basically do anything with the phone. The only way to… Read more

solve this is to remove the battery but then it freezes again within 15-20 minutes. Now I'm finding out that everyone who owns a Samsung smart phone has had an issue with it. Samsung won't help me as my warranty has expired, which is apparently due to a minuscule crack on the top right hand corner of the handset!!! They don't care that that has nothing to do with the issues I'm having now. What a joke!!! Will never be buying another Samsung product again! Camera The handset is of poor quality and is not designed to last

Terrible phone – I have had this phone brand new for 12 months, it's started freezing & turning itself off randomly 2 to 5 times a day, only way to get it to work is to take the battery out each time. My updates are updated. Previously an iPhone user, was thinking that Samsung was a better choice obviously I was wrong Camera is great Freezing & turning off by itself randomly, very inconvenient

Started out good, but got very, very bad – I've been on the Android platform since Eclair. Before the Galaxy S3 I had an S2. I pre-ordered the S3 before it's release day, as I was so impressed with the S2. My problems started before i even got the phone. The device was delayed over a month, after the "release date" because Samsung couldn't figure out how to paint them blue properly. … Read more

After I received the device, i was expecting to be blown away by the screen. I wasn't. There was also a strange tint colour that annoyed me, until i realised that it was caused by another "feature", Power Saving. Sure, tint everything off yellow to "save battery".??

The device has trouble connecting to bluetooth headsets. It won't connect properly most of the time. My car has Phone and Media bluetooth connectivity. When it attempts to connect, the phone will work, but the media player only connects 40% of the time as stated above. When the media play does decide to connect, the sound quality is poor at best. Even flac files sound like 96kbps internet radio rips.

Early on, there was an issue with playing media (yep even the simple task of playing mp3s). The device would crackle and cut sound for a brief second during playback when the screen was off.. It had to be corrected by unofficial developer enthusiasts developing a patch. Who would have thought a dual core device would have trouble playing an Mp3.

The battery life is horrible. I need a charger in the car, at work, at home and at my girlfriends. And I am still finding myself in low battery life situations because charging is just so slow on this device. Often the battery will sink 15% within a brief 10 minute walk to work. I have had to purchase a battery stats application to continually keep tabs on what is going on, and kill stuff when I need to. I have never had more trouble with rogue app battery drain. Not 3rd party stuff either, I guess poorly written stuff by samsung/google.. .GPSD is one that shows up frequently... It is a real pain in the...I am SICK TO DEATH of constantly having to diagnose and correct problems.

The charging port is one of the most frustrating things for me. It is of fairly poor quality. In almost 1 year of use, I can barely get it to charge, unless i kind of wiggle the chord in a fashion that feels like it will break off inside. This also makes it IMPOSSIBLE to connect it to a computer for file transfer. I guess this is due to bent connectors or something internally in the device.

When the alarm goes off in the morning, i reach for my phone to turn it off or snooze, but I am in a continuous dance of landscape and portrait mode which makes it next to IMPOSSIBLE to turn off the alarm... Its easier to take out the battery than it is to swipe the red or yellow snooze or kill alarm icons away.. In all honesty, lately I've just been throwing it against the wall to take the battery out, because i hate the thing so much.

THe device is actually quite slow. Often when I am driving with WAZE on, Media playing in the background will shudder and or completely stop as it has run out of processing bandwidth.

I've thrown the device so many times due to sheer frustration and defeat of such an inferior and infuriating product experience. By the look of it, things haven't improved much since the release of the S3. I am in the market for a new phone, but I just don't think ANY device will do it for me, as it seems technology needs to come a little further before I decide on a device... I may just go back to a Nokia... device size battery, speed, functionality, not 4g

Best Smart phone ever made – I got this phone the day it came out in stores and so far, I'm very pleased with it. I am an android fan and I was looking forward to run a custom rom on this device but I didn't because it's just awesome. It's very fast and doesn't lag at all unlike my previous Galaxy S1. Screen, speed, running the best mobile OS (Android), micro-SD no 4G support, colours are a bit washed out when the screen brightness is <40%
