It's very bad unit – Since I bought this spilt and there is no cold air then I contact Samsung service , they sent me a technician that he said this model is really bad and I can't do anything. Show details
Going yellow – I’m not complaining about the performance of this product, to be honest we have been happy with the performance of it, however of the past year or so we have been noticing that the triangle inside unit has been going very yellow and starting to look ugly against our wall. We don’t smoke nor do we have a open fire place, there is no reason that… Read more
this should be happening. Has anyone else experienced this and have Samsung rectified it if so. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Shaun
Worst Split Systems I've Ever Seen! – I purchased 3 AR09FSSSCWKN (2.5kW) splits and a AR12FSSSCWKN (3.5kW) unit and right from the start I've had nothing but problems. There are weird snapping, popping noises when the plastic starts to expand/contract and also a "rattling" noise that comes and goes. They all do it to different degrees, but the one in our bedroom is by far the worst.… Read more
It's so bad we can't sleep with it running on auto. I found the only solution is to take the unit off the auto setting, manually select heat or cool, set a fan speed and then leave it there. Obviously doing that means the "inverter system" won't be used, so the energy efficiency goes out the window. Anyhow, I called Samsung who sent a "technician" to inspect the unit. As well as the noises, I also pointed out that the louver wasn't straight. He said it was, and those noises are normal. I wasn't happy, went back to Samsung who sent one of their managers (David) to see for himself. He immediately saw the louver wasn't straight and said the noises weren't normal. He arranged a new case to be installed. The same "technician" who first attended returned to replace the casing. The noises were gone at first, but 5 months later they started returning, and keep getting louder. Also, when he replaced the case, he removed a cover that covers a module and never replaced it (he must've taken it) and also a part has fallen off the front of the unit. These Samsung air conditioners are a joke. I truly regret spending thousands of dollars purchasing what I initially thought was a good-quality brand, only to find they're nothing but cheap crap. I'll be pursuing this further under ACL, and will be replacing them with well-respected units of a different brand. I highly advise you avoid Samsung air conditioners. I'm attaching a photo of the crooked louver and a link to many videos showing the various issues, taken both before and after the "repair". I've arranged a playlist for the videos to make it easier.

Awesome Aircon super cool and efficient – Brought two 7 kw Aircons. One 5kW and One 3kW all work fantastic and are very efficient to run. We had them running all summer in QLD because my beautiful wife was pregnant with our son and could not tolerate the heat. The only issue is the online App which is a bit glitchy sometimes but otherwise good. Our power bill lifted $150 over the summer… Read more
time which is pretty good as all the kids are at home during that time as well smashing the internet and the XBOX.
Perfect Air Conditioner – I managed to get it on clearance but the air conditioner is quiet. It comes with equipment for the installation. The app is definitely a weak point of this air conditioner. You would expect a polished app from a company like Samsung but the app is glitchy and buggy other than that the air conditioner does what it is supposed to do. Show details
Highly efficient unit – Selected this unit because of its very high cooling efficiency. This translates into quiet operation and reduced power bills. The outside unit is whisper quiet and the scroll compressor inside has a huge number of speeds so it only runs as fast as it needs to. The lowest speed is barely audible from 2 meters away. The inside unit is sleek and… Read more
relatively attractive design. I prefer to beep noise to be off. Luckily the bright LED temperature display can be turned off too. Unlike another reviewer, I found that these settings are persistent (unless you fully power the unit down by turning it off at the isolator switch or breaker board, or there is a power failure).

Not a reliable system – I have had this air conditioner for 4 years and it has broken down twice. The first time it broke down it was summer and it would switch itself off or start inexplicably beeping, waking me up in the middle of the night. It was very difficult to demonstrate the fault as it would happen randomly. However it was finally fixed. It broke down again the… Read more
following summer when the air was no longer blowing cold air. It took 3 visits from the repairmen to fix it. I don't trust the system to be reliable and I wouldn't be surprised if it broke down again next summer. The only good thing I have to say about it is that the hot air option has never been a problem.
Leaked from beginning – I bought 5 Samsung triangle aircons - One 8kW and the rest were 2.5kW. The big one started leaking from the beginning and I had numerous call outs without any solution. Every time Samsung sent someone and they blamed some aspect of the installation. My wall under the aircon was full of leak marks and I had remove everything underneath after a… Read more
bookcase was ruined. Eventually I had the unit re-installed and finally they agree to replace it. They dragged their feet. It took almost 3 years to get it replaced and then they still sent the wrong unit. But here is the thing: My replacement unit is not smart and does not have wifi which is the main reason why I bought Samsung. I had callouts for the other units as well for circuit boards not working. I will not buy Samsung aircons ever again!
Was great up till a week ago – We have had our samsung unit in our rental property for the last three years until this last week when it decided to pack up and cause the circuit breaker to constantly flip. An electrician came out to find that one of the circuit boards was the issue and needed to be replaced. The unit it self was powerful and easily cooled and heated our room as… Read more

Don't do it – We bought two of these units because they were reasonably priced and were offering a cash back deal at the time. tablets we thought we'd try their air conditioners.
Besides they came with a 5 year warranty on the unit and 10 years on the digital inverter motor. Or so we thought.
The units were installed in December 2014 and worked fine for nearly two years.
Then one day the unit in the bed room started shutting down and displaying an error code E101. I did some research on line including the FAQ site for Samsung Australia and came up with the following result and solution,
"E101 is communication error between the indoor and outdoor unit. Data is not being transferred from indoor to outdoor or vice versa."
"In this case, Turn off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes to reset the program, However, If the problem still occur, you need to call our Customer Contact Center to request a service technician and check the unit."
We tried this but with no success so subsequently called Samsung Australia to book a service agent to attend and fix it.
Inspection of the unit, by an authorized service agent, revealed a gecko had damaged two circuit boards and this is not covered by the Samsung product warranty.
Obviously if Samsung does not produce a gecko resistant unit and then specifically does not warranty the unit against damage caused by them then the Samsung Warranty is quite worthless.
underwhelming – Was recommend this unit because of its apparent power and ability to heat/cool my whole house. Have to say, I am pretty unimpressed! The thermostat obviously is poorly designed. When heating, I set the temp to 25. The heater heats the area within a 1 metre radius to 25 and switches off... Meanwhile, the other side of the room, 4-5 metres… Read more
away is still freezing cold.
The unit will then cool rapidly down to room temp(18) within 1-2 minutes and start again.
Effectively heats the room for 2 minutes, raises room temperature by half a degree and then stops.
Excellent cooling and heating power no other brand has that power! – The unit itself has a very nice design (compliments all over)! Cooling and heating is so powerful. Only drawback is the cracking sound of the plastic from time to time but I can easily cope with that as it is not as loud as some people stated. I started hearing wind blowing sounds from the unit after 1 year of usage and it didn't work as… Read more
efficiently as it did before I contacted the dealer and he directly told me to clean the filter!!! It was totally clogged with dust! after cleaning it the unit returned new! I highly recommend it and advise you to clean the filter every 3 to 6 months depending on your usage frequency.
Terrible – The temperature is inconsistent changes from cold to hot. The fan gets too cold n or hot. Shall not buy Samsung white goods again. Waste of money. May have to replace this unit with another brand of aircon even though only used for a year. Good guys sold us this unit. Show details

Made my room a cookoon – Whisper quiet inside and out. Was worried outside generater may disturb neighbours but can barely hear it even up close. Outside unit small and tidy design. Easy to operate standard remote. No problem with installation. Instant temperature change. Early days but very pleased with whole operation so far....and much improved sleep!
Good air-con, quite impressed – Was a bit nervous selecting Samsung as they're not renowned as an A/C company, but having the capability to remotely control the A/C via an IOS app (wi-fi) was a must for me, and the Samsung seemed to shine above the others in this regard. The air-con itself is fantastic - super cold, quiet and has plenty of functions and customisation options. … Read more
The outside fans are also not too loud at all, great for the neighbours.
My only bugbears negating a 5 star review are: 1) The remote control is way to weak. Trying to control the A/C more than 4-5 metres away is impossible. Not sure whether it's the awkward positioning of the IR receiver on the head unit, or just a weak signal from the remote, but having to walk up close to it to control it is a bit of a pain. 2) The wi-fi connection is not perfect. There have been a few, but thankfully infrequent occasions whereby it wouldn't connect to the Wi-fi access point, and needed a few restarts (via the external isolation switch) to get it connected. Hopefully this will improve in future firmware updates.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase. The ability to turn this thing on when I'm about to head home from work, on a stinking hot day and have the house cool on my arrival is a huge bonus. I'm surprised the other major manufacturers have not caught on to this yet (Fujitsu) or have this only as an expensive option (Mitsubishi). I'm looking forward to the summer ahead now with my Samsung 8KW air-conditioner!!!
Does the job! – The aircoditioner runs well and does the job it was designed for. Some of these reviews almost put me off. But I bought it because it was in budget and had an amazing energy rating for an aircon. It cools well, isn't too noisy. I haven't used the heat setting yet.
Put me off Samsung home appliances forever – I have a brand new (luxury) houseboat, which was launched in June 2014. This air con system was installed a few months prior, and even before boats launch the crisp white colour of the wall mounted part of the system had faded to yellow on both the filter and directional blade. I contacted Samsung warranty department and they accepted the claim,… Read more
until I told them I lived on a houseboat then they said they wouldn't cover this as a warranty issue.
If the product fault had been of a technical nature, or somehow caused by vibration etc, then I would completely understand their point of view in not covering installation on a boat/moving vehicle. But this was a fault caused by their using extremely poor quality plastic in manufacture, and had nothing whatsoever to do with the fact it was installed on a boat (hence the reason the issue started even before the boat ever saw the water). Further, this is installed in a living room of the houseboat and is really no different to any seaside property as far as exposure of the inside portion of the split system is concerned.
Originally it was just the fan blade and filter, however I have now had the product installed for about 18 months and the entire product is yellow. Given the main reason I purchased this over competing products was the brilliant white colour which suited my décor, this is very disappointing.
On a performance note, the air con unit can take up to 10 minutes before it starts to cool, but once this time has passed it works fine.
Also, the iPhone app for the WiFi is very buggy, it works ok on the local network but has many problems when trying to control through the internet (i.e. turning on the system before you get home from work). I am not sure if this is specific to the iPhone app or if it is the same on Android phones.
Overall, the product has been a disappointment, but the real disappointment has been Samsung in their attitude to the warranty claim. As a result I have decided not to purchase any Samsung homeware products again. In our business we stand by our products, and I expect Samsung to do the same.
I would still consider their electronics & TV's (I have one of their newer models TV's which is very good).
Not designed for Australian environment – Although this model is discontinued, if you want to purchase a Samsung air conditioner, ask about what I consider a design fault in the outside unit. I live in Brisbane and a gecko recently got into the electronic circuit board on the outside unit and shorted the aircon. Hence, up to 2 circuit boards may require replacing - and NOT covered by the… Read more
5 year warranty period (companies can give lengthy warranties when they know they will rarely be applied!) I have 2 other branded split systems and have never had problems with the outside units. Hence, my suggestion that it is a Samsung design fault because (guess what!) there are lots of geckos in Australia! The people who came out to repair the aircon suspected a gecko was the problem before leaving the workshop. Therefore, the fault is regular and a great annoyance to the consumers who made an error purchasing a Samsung Air Conditioner. My advice - make your life easier and stay well away from Samsung air conditioners!
Doomed to repeat failures of the past – This unit works adequately for heating and cooling - it heats and cools the room, but apart from that, this unit is not recommended. When in heating mode, the unit will produce loud, sharp cracks at intermittent times when in use. These are loud enough to wake you up if you're sleeping, and can occasionally be heard at the other end of the… Read more
house.
Silly me bought a second one, and now I have two units with exactly the same problems.
Samsung have looked at this unit 5 times and can't fix the problem - they say it is normal operation.
Initially, the problems were blamed on "damage" to the unit, a blocked air filter and poor quality installers and the service department said this issue had never been seen before. None of these claims have subsequently been identified as the cause of the issue.
Later on, it turned out EVERY unit will make this noise because "Samsung have used cheap plastics" (quote from a Samsung technician).
Additional "features" are the Wifi frequently drops out (despite trying different Wifi units), louvre position and other settings are lost after turning the unit off. The on/off timer on the remote always resets itself to 12:00AM, so it's a pain to have the unit turn on at 4:30PM as you need to make 38 button presses each time you set the timer.
After having a Galaxy S2 phone which wouldn't turn on because it was "too hot" in an airconditioned office, this saga is fast cementing Samsung at the top of my "brands to avoid" list.
The Samsung service representatives (CSPWA/Camtec) also appear to be sending my personal information to an employee's personal email address (@me.com) rather than a Samsung address (@samsung.com). I raised this as an additional issue and didn't get a response back.
Youtube clips of my air conditioners making noises:

noise noise noise – The ac is the worst in the world, althought it's effective cooling and heating, but the noise cines out of it is intolerable, plastic noises, expansion and contraction noises and recently the sir flow gives a sudden blows like if somebody is strongly blowing out of the ac.never ever will buy any samsung
Poor cooling and relaibility – after purchasing 5 samsung AC's of various sizes I arrived to this conclusion : Buy Samsung phones, but not Samsung air conditioners They have smaller condensers than competitors. If you are in tropical area then go for it but if you life in dry land and temperatures reach 40 dg and above then you should consider alternative brands.
Dead out of box and terrible support – We have two little boys (1&3) and our split system broken down. With Sydney going through one of its coldest winters on record it was important to replace quickly. Had it replaced with a Samsung system but did not work and the technician believed it was to do with the temperature gauge. He was not able to remove and replace as Samsumg process is… Read more
to send their registered technician. Finally 3 days later Samsung have called and have scheduled a technician for 6 days. So 9 days to have someone have a look at it. Then there's no commitment to any process or timing after that. No offer to assist with heating until they can finally get someone out. I'm forced to buy a temporary heater and no commitment to compensation. And Samsung refuse to put anything in writing.

Love it - great airconditioner – Great price, excellent installation. Very happy no complaints. An efficient and quite air conditioner. Poor reviews reflect poor installers - not Samsung. Make sure you get an accredited installer you gives your compliance paper work.
From my experience, I can't fault this airconditioner. Brilliant product – I purchased Samsung's new Smart Wifi a/c (8kw) in January 2015. Purchased from Harvey Norman in Brisbane $2100.00 on 50month interest free finance. It is a very large product. Compressor box is approx 1 x 1 x 0.5 M. Head unit is about 1 x 0.4 x 0.4M so make sure you have a ute with straps if you choose to pick it up yourself. We chose an… Read more · 1
installer recommended by HN who was a pleasure to deal with. He was very accomodating and precise in his quote. Not a back to back install for us. We had the compressor located approx 5m from the head unit. He installed a seperate switch on our power board and a 40amp isolator switch. He also plumbed the drain using about 4m of foam insulated polypipe to the outside. He and an apprentice took approx 4 hours to install. Total cost was $950.00 incl gst.
I want to stress, use an experienced aircon installer. They need to be competent with electrical, plumbing and refrig. gassing and plumbing. I have read plenty of people bleating about smells coming from the head unit after install. The smell is the 134A refrig gas leaking from poorly sealed pipe work (I know the smell they describe....I work for BOC Gas). Make sure your installer checks all seals and that all is working normally before you let him leave.
I will say, in QLD our unit generates lots of water in the humidity. I mean about a litre per hour. Give some thought about where you will drain your a/c to. 10 litres a day is a LOT of water. Hint: it comes out at about 6 degrees, so a dog bowl under the drain will keep your overheating pooch chilled out!
Setting up the smart features is cumbersome until you work it out. Once you have it in your head, it is simple. I promise. Use the quick start install guide because it explains it well, even in semi-broken English. Install the Samsung Smart a/c app on as many devices as you like. Use the physical remote to get the head unit ready to connect to your home network. Connect your a/c and device with app to your network. Now, you will need to use the MAC ID. (12 characters only) which is on a sticker on the right side of the head unit. This is how the app, and later the Samsung website will recognise YOUR aircon.
Once you have the app talking (inhome) to your a/c, go to the Samsung Smart Appliance website and create an account for your home. User name will be your email address, password must be at least 8 characters, must have a mixture of letters, numbers and special charcters. Cannot use consecutive strings like 'abc' or '123' etc.
Now to register your a/c to access from out of the home.
On the account you just set up, go to 'my page', scroll to the last field and click 'add device' on the right.
You will be prompted to enter the device ID ( your MAC ID 12 character, code from the right side of the head unit).
Before you confirm this, turn your a/c off at the powerboard safety switch. Wait 60secs, switch it back on, then confirm the device on the webpage. A little popup will appear for a short time, then confirm that the device is registered.
Once this happens, turn the wifi on your phone off, open the app and choose 'out of home' and allow the app to locate your a/c. This takes a few seconds longer than in home, but the process is the same.
You should now be up and running.
Our 8kw system cools a lounge dining kitchen area approx 6x10M. It also cools 3 double bedrooms and the hallway. The unit is very controllable, powerful and quiet when on lower fan speeds. Louder but not uncomfortable on high.
We have only had the a/c in for a few weeks so I cant comment on consumption but love that I can turn it on from work an hour before I walk in the door to a blissfully cool home.
Samsung haters gonna hate. But this consumer typing this on a Sony tablet, and using the app on a Huawei phone is very happy with his very smart, modern, effective Samsung SmartWifi a/c.
Extremely low running cost – Had this system for 3 months, very hot summer, 30' to 38' every day. Not only is this system cooling and drying humidity from the area it is installed in,its actually cooling all of our living areas of our house. An area 3 to 4 times the area it's designed to work in. part of the day but did cool the area reasonably well, the Samsung we run for 14 hours a day set to 22' and fan on turbo, ..... We were prepared for electricity bill shock. .... But no, the electric bill was slightly "LESS" than last year! This system is truly amazing.
Just one thing, other reviewers mention a bad smell. It's the new refrigerant gas used not the system itself. Talk to your installer, you have a gas leak. Super cold, mini running cost.
Great unit, terrible smell, samsung refunded everything, awesome! – Great unit, horrible smell in the beginning, cost us double to install because our apartment has such high ceilings, but but but, after much complaining and a technician came out to confirm, samsung have refunded the total cost of the unit plus the install and now left us the unit in place, and after 9months the smell has totally dissipated, so free unit!! Thanks samsung, thats okay with me now as it all works fine!
Efficient & Effective – I bought the 2.5Kw to cover my gannyflat during summer, and it works a treat. The unit has a nice white gloss look to it, the wifi controls are great in case you want to turn on the unit from work! The fan mode is really powerful and you can really feel the wind, and this unit doesn't go on/off once it reaches the temperature I set it at. All in all solid unit, no dramas yet.

Samsung Smart Series 11 split system – I have had this air conditioner for only three days and already I hate it. conditioner on one of my Samsung devices (phone / tablet). The instructions to set up the wi-fi leave a lot to be desired, but I'm not technically challenged, so gave it a go regardless. The air conditioner simply won't connect to my Samsung Tablet. I haven't tried connecting it to my Samsung phone as it just isn't worth the stress.
Moving on to the actual air conditioner ... it's just plain ugly! Accessing the filter is easy enough as it is in plain view, but to get inside to access things such as the wi-fi module is nigh on impossible - if I follow the instructions, I need to remove the filter and access it by looking/reaching into the unit. As the filter is at the top of the machine and the machine is on a wall, just below the ceiling, I'm wondering what sort of contortionist I have to be to even look inside, let alone reach inside and successfully access the part I need to.
The air in the room doesn't feel cold, despite having set the unit to 18 degrees. I did think that the unit might not be working, but as it allegedly shows the room temperature on the display, I have to assume that it is working correctly.
Three days in and it still fills the room with the smell of rubber. Samsung state that "we do not use smelly components in the air conditioner". I have emailed them regarding this, but am awaiting a response.
The fan is incredibly loud when set to anything other than the lowest speed. The vane creaks when it is set to 'swing', and the display is so bright that I feel like I'm trying to sleep in the middle of a brightly lit sporting ground. The display can be turned off, but comes back on as soon as any adjustments are made (such as changing the fan speed, temperature etc.). All of this guarantees an interrupted sleep.
The unit is well priced and has useful features, but in hindsight, I wouldn't purchase it again. I wish I never did in the first place. It really does little more than a $50 fan. inexpensive, lateral moving air vanes ugly, smelly, noisy, display too bright, air doesn't feel cold
