Excellent quality of compressor – I purchased this fridge 11 years ago and still using it. Excellent quality! Spacious room for my family of four. Noise is ok if you don’t place it in bedroom. Plastic shelf box did crack but I fixed it bonding aluminum sheet with little epoxy. Show details ·  1

Great fridge till it failed – We brought the fridge 7th of August 2013 from the Good guys and failed started to fail in late May 2020. It no long freezes and no longer chills. The freezer is not quiet as cold as a fridge and the fridge is a little cooler then room temperature. I have manually defrosted the fridge for 9hrs in case the fan froze over and cleaned the… Read more

internal\external vents with no luck.

Until it failed it was a great fridge and was extremely good at it's job. Being that it failed at 7 years old not exactly reliable. I would of been happy if it reached 10 years minimum. I will be looking at a LG GT-442SDC which i brought and awaiting to arrive from the Good guys for $888 on 04/07/2020.

Stick to making phones Samsung – After 8 years of normal use nearly all of the plastic shelves are cracked and broken, which are very expensive to replace. The seal has perished. We are going to have to buy a new fridge soon as a result. Fridges are supposed to last a lot longer than this.  Show details

Good fridge freezer for small family – This Samsung fridge -freezer is quiet and has been reliable with 4 years of fault free operation. Looks big but the freezer just meets our needs. Door seals have been good and both freezer and fridge units have performed well without any issues. Samsung have done well competing against top quality brands like Panasonic. The only weak point in… Read more

this product is the plastics. The shelves become brittle shatter and crack easily and are expensive to replace.

Good fridge – Purchased mid 2013. Immediately had to replace the lower shelf over crisper as it continually cracked. Did this three times. Apart from that I have had no problems at all with the fridge and am otherwise very happy with it. Quiet, not super spacious and would not be large enough for a family of five, shelves are close together but otherwise… Read more

Great Fridge! – So much space. Easy to clean! Glass shelves are solid. Recommended for any standard household. The freezer can pack quite a bit and it still has an easy to use twist ice maker with drop box. Easy to move on it's wheels so it's so easy to clean underneath. Brilliant!  Show details

Perfect Fridge for 5 Years – Our Samsung is totally trouble free, super quiet and is a MEDIUM size fridge suitable for say 2 adults and 1-2 kids. We are going to sell ours and upgrade as we are out growing it, otherwise i'd love to hang onto it. Highly Recommended !!! Whining about petty things such as the handles sticking out, there's not enough shelves or my butter… Read more

isn't comfortable unless it has its own box - Seriously you can check these things BEFORE you buy a product, just because you are used to certain comforts in your old appliance does not at all mean every manufacturer adds these features in to theirs. Also i have read 100's of reviews looking for a new fridge and they ALL have complaints - i feel these are mostly unlucky issues, remember at least 3% of all products fail which is very acceptable, you just hope to get a good retailer that will fix it. NEVER GO BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER - ALWAYS RETURN YOUR ISSUES TO THE RETAILER its their task to repair or exchange the goods..

Other Commenters don't know how to fridge – A dream fridge which has done exactly what a fridge should do; keep 431L of space inside it colder than the space outside it. Completely silent, settings are easy to figure out without turning frozen items into stone or melting them. If you can turn on a ceiling fan with 3 speed settings, you can operate this fridge effectively.

Samsung service is terrible – I bought this model of fridge from the good guys, as it looks very good and samsung have, in my eyes, a good reputation as a brand. However, the first fridge I had delivered had quite a considerable dent In the side, although there was no damage to the packaging, meaning Samsung must have carelessly packed it this way. That's ok, I get a new one… Read more

delivered. Now, this second one is faulty. Everything is being frozen inside the fridge, even on the vacation setting which is meant to stop the fridge and only the freezer runs. The freezer is freezing the shelving on its lowest setting. Ok, I'll have to call samsung and get this fixed under warranty, as by the time having passed toying with settings, 2 weeks is just up and I can't get an exchange at the good guys. Now my real problems begin. Samsung direct me to contact my closest repairer, which I do post haste. The repairer tries to get me to pay for their travel to come get the fridge and take it back to their shop. Warranty should cover this I tell them. They say samsung do not pay them travel so far. I ring samsung, they tell me this is not true, and they tell me they'll intervene and sort this out. Weeks pass as I ring both samsung and the maintenance company, trying to get my fridge fixed in a timely manner, to no avail.

The maintenance company holds true to the fact that samsung won't pay them and basically refuse to come repair my fridge. By this time I've had enough of the messing about and just want my fridge working. I say to the maintenance company that I'll pay for them to come as I'm tired of waiting, they agree but then conveniently 'never find the time' to travel to my location. In the end I decide to take the fridge the 45 odd kilometres on a trailer I've hired for the day at a 45 dollar expense to myself. It has now been at the maintenance company for 4 weeks and 1 day, their office staff has told me today that they're still waiting on parts they ordered weeks ago. The office lady tells me samsung are a terrible company to deal with in matters of warranty repairs, and I must say I wholeheartedly agree with her. I plan on taking my complaint to consumer affairs once I finally have my fridge back, to be compensated for the hiring of the trailer. I will never buy a samsung product again, and I will tell my story to anyone close to me who is thinking of buying Samsung. The whole ordeal has been very stressful. I'm 21, just moved into my first home and I've been without a working fridge for months now. It's just not good enough samsung. Aesthetically great Terrible customer and warranty service from Samsung

SR393MLS review – Couldn't see an entry for the slightly smaller Samsung SR393MLS (393 litre) top-mount so here's the next best place. I've had this fridge for about a month and overall it's quite good. No noisier than you'd expect a fridge to be and as a general comment its temperature has been stable and satisfactory during that time. I like the built-in… Read more

ice cube dispenser in the freezer, that will come in handy during the warmer months.

The only genuine complaint I have is the vegetable crisper at the bottom of the fridge is next to useless at keeping fruit and veg fresh.

But for a relatively good price and with a 3.5 star energy rating there's not much else around to compete with it that I could find. Looks good, generally speaking works very well and is not too noisy. Good energy rating. Vegetable crisper is poor at keeping fruit and veg fresh.

Very happy – We just upgraded to this bigger and better fridge and so far, very happy with it! It looks great, it's quiet (contrary to some other reports), it's got great storage and capacity (lots of shelves) and who doesn't love new fridge smell? Only thing we have to reserve judgement on is electricity consumption - it's got a less than ideal energy rating. Got it for a bargain price from Harvey Norman. Looks great, bigger capacity Poor energy rating

Very Loud Fridge – Don't be fooled by Samsung's claims that this fridge is meant to emit humming sounds. Those are humming sounds, not helicopter sounds which are caused by the fan icing up. When you hear the difference between helicopter and humming sounds, you will be kicking yourself for purchasing this fridge. I'm off to place my fridge up for sale on… Read more

gumtree.

Samsung have been caught by Fair Trading for known issues with the defrost system not functioning and the fans making loud noises.

Ask for a refund, not a replacement. Under consumer law you have a choice. Fridge space, removable ice maker Loud Noisy

A bit of a let down – We have only ever owned smaller fridges and I was so excited to get a normal size fridge. But maybe I should have gone and seen one of these in store first. I am disappointed by the lack of a upper chiller zone compartment and a butter shelf with cover. It's all open glass shelves, except for the lower veggie crisper. I am so used to… Read more

having a chiller zone up the top, that it feels like everything is all over the place. Also the handles are a bit old school and huge, they poke way out from the fridge, not very streamline. And the biggest concern is - it's noisy. It vibrates and makes a rapid clicking/rattling sound. Like the fan is knocking something everytime the blades go around? We live in a very small apartment and you can hear the fridge over the whole unit. Even though it is tucked in to an enclosed cavity? Shame Great size. Noisy, Big handles that poke out & no chiller zone.
