Problem after problem – A little over a year ago I was having problems with water gathering under the deli drawer of which was then freezing and causing icing up on the base of the refrigerator - after consistently contacting Samsung ie eventually had parts replaced by Samsung I am now experiencing the ice maker freezing up with the motor continually whirring… Read more

Expensive, faulty and not able to be repaired – Fridge was purchased at Harvey Norman 6/6/2015 including 48 month product replacement. Approximately 3 months past this warranty our fridge began leaking water inside. Recommended Samsung repairer called to inspect and advised fridge unable to be repaired. Due to internal insulation problem. Common with Samsung. and will continue to deteriorate… Read more

Great fridge with plenty of room – We have owned this product since March 2016 and has so far been great! It has plenty of room in all the areas (we struggle to fill it!) and the freezer multi draw makes it easy to store different size items. The ice and water dispenser is also a great feature and the temp controlled bottom draw in the fridge is great for storing beer! ;) The only… Read more
issue that i have found is sometimes (very rarely) it is a little loud when the motor kicks in, but this could just be a draw vibrating. We bought this from Harvey Norman and they threw in a power point surge protector and 6 year warranty.Very happy.
Great for a family of 7 – This fridge frezzer from Samsung is a top product we are a family of 7 and believe me it is absaluty full all the time food is all ways fresh and my beer cold the ice maker and water dispenser is a good send we have found that the kids drink alot more water and alot less soft drinks even me and you can taste the difference between tap water and … Read more

Top fridge great product from Samsung but I wouldn't expect anything different from Samsung
Great Fridge and Freezer – I purchased this item from the Good Guys in Bundaberg 3 years ago and have had no problems,We find that being on Tank water in the country we have to change the water filter approximatly each 10 to 12 months and are not cheep, $80.00. We use the icemaker all the time and drink a lot of water because it is filtered, Great product. Show details

When are these going to be recalled? #Samsung fridges – Like many of these reviews, our 4 year old fridge is not food safe and showing temperature of 14degrees C. As well as water pooling at the bottom of fridge, many plastic parts are breaking. Keep getting told the case manager is looking into it but as I have been without a fridge for over 2 weeks I am going to go buy a new one and take Samsung to… Read more

Expensive Landfill - Samsung fridge – I thought I would write a review on this now discontinued Samsung fridge as it requires a major repair. I purchased it 56 months ago and was happy until three weeks ago as it started making a loud noise from the rear. It also had major frost in the freezer about two to three weeks before the noise. This I solved by turning the fridge off to… Read more
defrost over night and cleaned it the next morning. (Lucky I had my 14 year old LG in the garage, this one hasn't skipped a beat and is quiet as a mouse).
I reached out to Samsung via their customer service number and was told the fridge was out of warranty and to contact the authorized repairer. Their call out fee being $160. I decided to get a local repairer out at $70 and was told that it was the compressor/motor.
I then reached out to Samsung via twitter direct message and hit a wall. I got the same answer as my previous phone call, fridge out of warranty and due to its age, not much Samsung can do. I requested my complaint be escalated as I thought this was ridiculous. I was contacted by a case manager and told about the warranty on parts (10 years for a compressor/motor) but not labor. I was then advised I would be contacted by their authorized repairer. After being contacted by the case manager the case was closed
I was advised by their authorized repairer that labor would be $1100 and I would have to transport my fridge to them as they don't service my area. I'm over 100klms away from Melbourne.
As this is at least half the price I paid for the fridge just over four and a half years ago, I have decided to call it a bad investment and will never purchase a Samsung appliance or electronic again. I will also be advising my family and friends that Samsung products can not be trusted. I have made multiple appliance purchases in the last five years and only one has failed so dismally (thanks Samsung).
The one star I gave was for the look of the fridge but considering they all look the same, I would look elsewhere if you are considering Samsung. The lost four stars are because a major appliance should last longer than just under five years.
Pfft you samsung are the worst
Worst life span for a fridge. Ever – Spent $2,300 on this fridge 4 years ago. Two weeks ago it started to make noises then the compressor died abruptly one week ago. I would have expected the fridge to last at least 8 years as 4 years is unacceptable. Samsung were no help as it was out of warranty. We had purchased extended warranty from JB Hifi and are still waiting for their… Read more

Trash disguised as a fridge – Brought towards end of 2017. Just over 2 years later shelves started to disintegrate, now pretty much every shelf and draw needs replacement. Obviously made with substandard materials not suited for fridge environments. Come to expect such poor quality from all Samsung products Show details
Substandard product – The fridge was purchased at the Harvey Norman Appliance Centre in their Edgewater (WA) store on the 20th November 2013 for $2999. It started malfunctioning in December 2019, just over six years after the purchase. Samsung was contacted in late December 2019 after which a technician referred by Samsung attended, tested the fridge and deemed it… Read more
irreparable due to an internal gas leak (we had to pay the $253 invoice). Since then I did some research and apparently in the past copper or aluminium tubing was used in fridges, but these days galvanised steel is used instead. It is cheaper but as most people, and especially fridge manufacturers well know, steel + ice (moisture) = rust. I approached Samsung but they refused to help because the fridge is over five years old. I believe that it is not reasonable for a $2999, high-end, fridge to only work for six years and two months. In fact, advice from the leading Australian consumer advocacy group, Choice, indicates that the life expectancy of a high-end fridge should be 13 years. Unfortunately, the ownership of the Harvey Norman changed so I have no claim against the new owners. The store manager of this new Harvey Norman store was rude and unhelpful and I will not shop in any of the Harvey Norman stores again. I am going to make a complaint to the Department of Commerce against Samsung. I am very disappointed with both Harvey Norman and Samsung. We have numerous appliances from HN and Samsung including mobile phones, but I think it is time to switch. It is disappointing that in this day and age, when we are trying to reduce wastefulness and are concerned about environmental issues, manufacturers such as Samsung and retailers such as Harvey Norman don't care and continue to produce and sell substandard products which only last for a short time and then have to be disposed of.

What is the expected lifespan of this ? – Bought back in 2014 and for 4 years had no issues. Icemaker used to get blocked up causing the motor to make 'owl like' sounds but worked out how to get that working again. Has since repeated itself a few times! Good Layout Poor Quality – Bought in 2016 and for 3 years perfect. Except Water/Ice Dispenser is badly designed with Ice falling out everywhere when you try to get some in a glass. 3 months ago started get some weird noises from Freezer compartment and then food started to defrost and then would come good again. $143 thanks. Last week Freezer Temp was much higher than the control panel read. So called the Tech again. Another $143 He pushed some buttons and said everything fine even though I pointed out I didn't believe the Freezer temp was right after he left it stopped working altogether. Rang service again and Tech said it is probably a faulty connection somewhere - too expensive to track down & suggested I buy a new fridge. Which I will do but not a Samsung.

Last Samsung appliance in our home – Bought this in 2013 and because of the relatively short two year warranty I extended it by three years for a total of $2400. Now five and half years later (yes not long after extended warranty expired) I have the same problem again and repairer is quoting over $700 to repair!
I’m trying to manually defrost it to get it going again while looking for a new fridge for when it fails again. Shame we don’t have class actions against manufacturers of these kind of poorly designed appliances.

No wonder it’s discontinued – No wonder the fridge has been discontinued. After 5 years it’s started leaking and of course the consumer warranty is only for four and a half years. Customer support just give you the run around. Five years is a short lifespan for a fridge. I’ll be staying away from their fridges Show details
Great – The design of these fridges is great. I find the pull out freezer drawer at the bottom the best freezer design. The ability to adjust the shelves to fit tall things in is great, and the bottom drawer in the fridge is also a good use of space. The shelves on the doors are good and we fit 3x 2L milk bottles across 3 shelves (up to 9 bottles) We… Read more
use the ice maker all the time but it does have limited ice and we can run out. Also, it is difficult to fit some bottles under the chilled water dispenser which is a pity. The biggest drawback is that one of that one of the shelves on the fridge door has broken - the plastic isn't strong enough to hold a lot of weight. I've never had cause to question its temperature so I guess it does a good job of that!
Great Fridge – Fridge storage is good and I like how the freezer is at the bottom, makes taking things out of the fridge section easier. It's been going good for over a year now. Only issues I have had so far was an issue with the freezer seal and also a noisy auger motor but contacted Samsung support and they sent someone to fix it within the week. I'd happily buy Samsung again. Show details
GREAT FRIDGE – Maintains good temperature and the double crispers are excellent for fruit and vegies. They really have an extended life in this fridge. Very spacious for both fridge and freezer and the ice maker has changed my life! Ice and filtered cold water on tap 24/7 is wonderful. The ice maker does make a weird noise occasionally but once you realise… Read more
what it is, you get used to it. It's just the ice settling inside the ice-maker.
It seized up about 6months into operation but we rang the Samsung peeps and they told us how to re-set it over the phone....great service

Love it – This fridge is amazing... very spacious and very easy to clean. Probably the only downfall is the ice maker is not big enough but besides that everything is perfect. It is also quiet and we never hear it running. Would recommend it to anyone looking for an icemaking and/or water dispensing fridge. Show details
Piece of CRAP! – By far one of the WORST fridges i have ever had! We purchased our fridge 2 years and 2 months ago to be precise and it has just run out of Warranty! We waited 2 weeks for the part to come so had to… Read more
borrow a fridge. The same thing just happened a last month and it took 3 WEEKS to get it repaired not to mention the horrible loud noise i had to listen too until it actually stopped working! So in that time i had to live out of a car fridge and throw away over $200 worth of food that i have not been compensated for! and wouldn't you know it not even 2 weeks after being repaired at the end of Nov the Fridge is now sitting at room temperature and not working. Once again another lot of food thrown in the bin over $150 worth with no repair date in site. I will now be without a Fridge over the Christmas break and its back to a car fridge. Not only has the fridge malfunctioned more times than its working the freezer rollers freeze up and you cant even open the freezer door! I will NEVER buy another Samsung product and if i could take it back i would! Do not buy a Samsung fridge they look pretty but they dont bloody work!
Storage designs not so users friendly especially Freezer – The 2 doors fridge is spacious for access and storing large items however the compartments on fridge doors are not designed well for efficient storage. While listed capacity seems large it is however not efficiently designed to store maximum stuff. The ice/water storage compartment intrude into the fridge volume. Ice storage capacity is quite… Read more

Freezer compartment has 2 drawers inside and it is hard to organize and find stuff. It feels more like a chest freezer.
Fragile – The fridge itself is great but the drawers and shelves are fragile. Two door compartments have cracked, two shelves also cracked. It has had normal use, but seems to be manufactured using poor quality plastic. Worst was the repair company who took 6 months to replace the parts. I hope they dont break again! Show details

Great Space – Good family sized refrigerator. Shelf space is very versatile and adaptable for larger items. Chill draw is a great addition. Quiet , makes standard chunk when dropping ice down . Only thing I don't like is - doesn't fit a standard carton dozen eggs, not long enough.

Terrible – Absolutely abysmal customer service! I have a number of Samsung products and given my recent experience with my less than 2 year old fridge freezer, I won’t be purchasing another. book. And let me tell you, Samsung has been more than disappointing in this regard. Trying to get my fridge freezer fixed under “warranty” by Wholesale Appliance Supplies (Samsung’s Brisbane Service Providers), has been an absolute joke, an extremely disappointing experience to say the least.
So after finally getting an appointment date for a service technician “god” to actually deign to give me a date where on they were prepared to attend my property and fix my faulty fridge was hard enough, let alone a time slot! (Apparently, I had to wait until the day for that). So I had to take a day’s annual leave to wait for them to grace me with their presence for fleeting 10 minute visit, Fantastic!
So the day came, the time slot was issued, 10 minutes came and went and I was told that everything had been modified; (apparently this is a common fault with these units that Samsung is fully aware of), the technician was off!! Brilliant I thought! After a month of no fridge freezer I can actually store food at home again! Lucky me! In my excitement I rushed out to the shops and bought $200 of food to restock my now operational fridge freezer! I was exhilarated!
Upon returning home, oh dear, it’s still not cooling. In the 3 hours that I’d been gone, we’re still sitting at room temperature, which in a Brisbane summer, is pretty hot at the moment. So I immediately jumped on the phone to the technician to beg him to come back and use his genius to have another go. “It takes at least 12 hours for the freezer to start cooling, so don't worry about it mate.” I’m told. Well, I think you can guess it’s still not working!!!
Now to avoid having to take another day off, I called Wholesale Appliance Supplies and explained the situation, asking for a Saturday time slot, not too much to ask you may think, given I’ve already take a day’s annual leave? After all, giving up my Saturday was probably a better option than being sacked.
Well, this has been met with, "he's not in your area on Saturday”, and “the best we can do is get back to you NEXT Thursday!” Brilliant, “You do understand that this is your mistake don’t you?” Sorry “that’s the best we can do….”
Really Samsung! REALLY! Is that the best you can do, NEXT Thursday! So you expect me to take another day’s annual leave? Who’s going to be compensating me for my time and a load of food going to waste (again), let alone the inconvenience and frustration that this process has caused! I thought by spending $2000 on a fridge freezer would ensure that it lasted more than 2 years! Maybe Fisher and Paykel was the way to go…….
Manufacturer piping issue – At 12 months old the fan began making an awful noise. Luckily we called Samsung when we did (still under warranty) the drainage pipe is very narrow and ice had built up on the fan. The day the repair man attended (4 days after the call due to weekend and public holiday) he said the noise had stopped that morning as the fan had stopped working and… Read more
the cooling mechanism was dead. Not something I would expect from a reputable brand, and the appliance being only 12 months old. We had only ever had temperature settings at those recommended my the manufacturer. Something to be aware of.
Crap!!! – Wish I could take this back. Have had the shelves on the doors replaced. Have cracked again. The fixtures holding the interior shelves have broken and been replaced at my cost. The plastic must be cheap. The worst fridge I have ever bought. The freezer drawer ices up even though it appears closed.
Not as good as first thought!! – We purchased due to great size & loved the ice dispenser. That's where our love ended. Since 2011 we have had to have it repaired three time. First the fridge in first year. Second year the freezer. 2015 out of warranty but had extra warranty our freezer still freezing up & motor running loud and constantly. Had to have it fixed yet again. … Read more
Really not what we expected after spending over $2500 for this item. Told only to half fill our freezer at first!! Are you kidding me after buying a huge freezer......second repairer said this was incorrect advice......it's huge, fill it as you want. So here's hoping after third repair it is finally fixed for good.
We love the size....it's a beast.
Really like it – We love the fridge, have had it about 18 months now with no issues. Love the veggie crisper section, lettuce and veggies are still crisp weeks later. No good for mushrooms, they go slimy quickly but everything else just lasts so much longer. Water/ ice dispenser is great, awesome making cocktails/ drinks and not having tainted ice from ice cube trays in the freezer.
LOAD OFRUBBISH – I have the previous model that is falling to bits. The freezer ices up and all shelves are cracking. Shelves were replaced once after a lot of pressure. Samsung ALWAYS seem to blame the customer. I was told the shelves cracked because of kids not being careful with the unit (my kids are adults) ??????? NEVER NEVER buy any Samsung product again especially if you have to deal with those idiots at Samsung Plaza in Rooks road Melbourne.
All good – We purchased our Samsung 639 in July 2013 from harvey norman in Osborne Park and just love it. It is spacious, very quiet and cools beautifully. We have had no issues with the water/ice dispenser to date. The internal lighting is very good too. It is a dream to clean internally and the layout suits our needs. We are enjoying our refrigerator .... Maybe we are just lucky!
ABSOLUTELY USELESS – Purchased the Samsung 639L French Door Fridge in April 2013 within a couple of months the freezer was icing up - had the repairer come out 6 times changing doors, rails and other parts until I finally told them I wanted another fridge, the second fridge was worse than the first, lumps of ice formed in freezer within a week - finally told them I… Read more
wanted my money back, I couldn't afford anymore time off work unless they paid me, I was losing money while they TRIED fixing their lousy fridge. Have now purchased an LG CR-L730 SL French door fridge and had no trouble (touch wood) - will never buy another Samsung product.....customer service is deplorable and their products not worth the money or trouble.....Gave it one star because there is no minus.... The look of it everything......worst product I have ever bought
Awesome fridge – Great fridge easy to hook up and install, easy to access the compartments and great lighting. funny how people complain about the water not cold enough when there is a large amount of crushed ice at your disposal. Kids love it, and I don't have to remember the ice tray when i have a whiskey Living the dream Ice, Lighting and Ice again nothing
Cold water dispenser not cold – The main attraction for us buying this fridge was the cold water dispenser. I didn't expect icy cold water but this is moderately cool, not cold and not that refreshing. I regret buying the fridge and should have kept my… Read more

Samsung on our behalf (without even telling us) and requesting a warranty service call. Thanks a lot Masters! This is very frustrating, because we bought this fridge (despite the abysmal reviews it receives on here) in good faith and opened it up to find it damaged. Samsung should not ship fridges that are damaged, and Masters should be more helpful with after sales service. They should have sent us a replacement and returned the damaged stock to Samsung. Now I have to wait for a service person to come out, who may or may not deem it to be a warranty issue (according to the Samsung Overseas Call Centre) and may or may not have a replacement door or may or may not have to order one in, and who knows when I'll have a fridge that is in the condition it should have been in!!! FAIL! Samsung, FAIL Masters!
received in damaged condition
RUBISH – Poor back up service, product is rubbish. Fridge section keeps icing up and has to be completely defrosted which takes days to get working again.
