Great fridge! – I have this fridge for 7 years and despite it moving home twice, has operated faultlessly. The cold water volume is quite small so one can’t fill a large carafe with cold water. This fridge has cemented my resolve to never buy Samsung again – Our fridge is dead in just over 5 years. Reported as irreparable. There is a gas leak in a section that cannot be accessed. In Samsung’s opinion, they have no interest or responsibility in providing products that last for what is a reasonable lifetime. down the fridge for days to let the blockages melt out and we just wore it but to find that they wash their hands of the matter in a fridge that originally retailed at 5k when it is not repairable in just over 5 years tells me this is a company that does not hold the customer in a high regard. We didn’t expect a refund, just a small discount on a new fridge would have been totally acceptable but nope - a spokesman delivered the message that upper management had decided that they were not willing to discuss the issue, just go away buddy. Our repair guys comments on their instructions from Samsung were an eye opener to say the least. Never again!

To make things worse, Our 5yr warranty has lapsed by 1 year and Samsung have been quite unempathetic regarding their problematic product. Even to the point where the Samsung warranty agent literally said, “tough luck”, to us over the phone when we called recently.
I know nothing lasts like it used to... I’d be disgruntled if the fridge only lasted 10 years, but I’d at least expect it to last 15 for the price we paid. Instead we’ve only just got 6 years out of it.
We will not be recommending Samsung products to anyone.

Particularly disappointing fridge – After 5 years, the LCD panel is faulty. Icemaker is also unreliable and the water dispenser is messy. So very disappointed – I am very disappointed with this refrigerator we brought it from the good guys in 2013 and we loved how much space it had. worked when it wanted to and then the freezer draw now freezers up and continually leaks water so we are constantly removing slabs of ice from the freezer draw. It has multiple dents all over it - the slightest bump and it dents. we are trying to persevere with it as it cost so much and we had the refrigerator space made in our home to fit the fridge. I have 3 Samsung tvs,a washing machine and tablets all of which are fantastic and thought I would get the Samsung refrigerator as I assumed it would be of the same quality and reliability. fridge is a nightmare. We have dents all over it, and I have no idea how they have got there. I truly believe it is due to some sort of manufacturing defect. It seems to dent itself overnight. The fridge looks quite unsightly now. So disappointing.

working fridge, they blamed the people that are supposed to look after their service problems who told us we needed a new compressor. The service people were worse than Samsung, at least Samsung seemed to be trying to help, but the service people had no interest. The thing is you have no choice to pick a service company as Samsung rules who you need to contact...very frustrating & time consuming all round, not to mention the stress of having a non functioning fridge. After over 2 weeks Samsung has offered a full refund..but only to the store originally purchased. A refund to my bank accoumt would be better so I can shop around. Good luck buying a Samsung fridge. Mind you have checked a number of other HIGH priced fridges & you wouldn't believe the complaints.
Worst product ever. Shame there isn't a no star option – Where do I start.... No 1: A couple of months after the two year warranty ran out (of course) it died for the first time. Before the service guy could come out and charge me, I went on line and found people that had complained of similar problems and fixed it my self, which I've had to do repeatedly over the next few years. turn it off and then back on at the wall.
No 2: Temperature is either too cold or not cold enough in both freezer, crisper and ice-maker.
No 3: Light up display has parts of numbers that no longer light up and the letters on the cubed or crushed on my model have started to wear away..
No 4: Ice maker settings do not stay on correct setting and ice-maker itself ices up and blocks and then overflows when you open the door.
No5: Fridge duco is bubbling around the ice-maker because the water overflow receptacle fills up, with no way of being emptied unless you sop the water up with a cloth. (melting frost from the ice-maker a huge factor)
And finally....
No 6: Freezer keeps icing up with a great slab of ice that's thickest at the back left hand corner, causing the draw to both stick and to refuse to seal properly unless you get down and chip it away with boiling water every few weeks.
Conclusion.....
Do not buy this Fridge unless you have no problem spending a huge amount of cash for a relatively short product life free of problems.
UPDATE: Samsung has been really fantastic and surprisingly fast. I've just received a call letting me know I am getting a full refund. So anyone who has had this model less than three years take heart.... because if and when (cough) it dies at least there is hope.
it was ok but loved how deep it was – I think we had a faulty one. The freezer was dropping ice when it was opened. Loved how it was spacious afterall we lost trust in the model and we replaced it with the 680 model and we love it. We called Samsung for an assessment. They were prompt but still lack of communication. JB HI FI were fantastic and they helped us thouroughly.
The Worst Fridge Ever Rubbish – Always breaks down, water filter needs changing in 2 months. Ice maker stops working. Console stops working. Just rubbish! the repairer not only forgot his tools but then scratched various parts of the fascia. It looked like a cheap second. I then multiple problems organising for this to to be rectified. After weeks of arguments and complaints - finally it was sorted. Now, it is making a loud noise and similar hassles. Samsung trying to pin this problem on us. Think twice before buying one
This is a great fridge if you need space – I love this fridge, lots of space, love the middle draw, I put all the things I need regularly in there, so handy to grab. Only negative thing is the light in the numbers don't completely fade out, it doesn't effect the performance of the fridge, we rang the customer service no to get it fixed and we haven't seen or heard from anyone since, that was over 6mths ago. We have had the fridge close to a year now.
Oh no! Not more people like me - I would have given less than one star if possible – Fourth attempt on hold at Samsung for the day - trying to resolve my dispute. Sixth time it has broken down and it is only 2 years old. This dodgy fridge should have been manufactured in a lemon colour.

stressful story short, Samsung still have not refunded us for the fridge even though they have had about 12 copies of the necessary documents and countless calls and emails. They never return calls or emails and just keep passing me on to different people promising to sort it but just don't! So basically Samsung products are ok while they are working but if they stop you can kiss your money goodbye. It wasn't like we bought a cheapy. It was a $3000 fridge!

After some months another problem accured!! the fan stopped working..back on the phone I go to Samsung!! I requested a refund.. However, after a few months the ice maker stopped delivering ice and kept blocking up. I called Samsung customer service and quickly discovered that Samsung have no presence in Australia and service calls are routed through the Philippines. The disappointing aspect of having a Philippine call centre is that the staff do not have English as a first language and it is very difficult to make oneself understood. After contacting the call centre a number of times and being told that someone would call me back (which of course never happened), I began to suspect that having a Philippine call centre was part of the Samsung strategy to deter service complaints.
Initially the ice maker was replaced, but still didn't work as it should. Further technicians who came to service the ice maker didn't seem to know what to do other than press the reset button which didn't solve the problem long term. One technician told me it was the water pressure. After several attempts to have the ice maker repaired I demanded that Samsung replace the fridge because it was clearly faulty. When the fridge was replaced approximately 10 months after my initial complaint, the delivery person told me that the faulty ice maker was a "known" problem with this particular fridge and they had to replace "quite a lot" of these fridges. Bear in mind though that it was not until I told the Samsung call centre that I would be handing my complaint over to Australian Consumer Law for resolution (because I felt Samsung were instituting delay tactics in the hope that I would go away) that the fridge was replaced without further argument.
Now, the replacement fridge has a rust issue. I noticed not long after installation that there was a blemish on the water/ice door in the bottom right hand corner of the door. Over time this blemish has increased in size and it is now apparent that the blemish is actually rust coming out from inside the door. After contacting Samsung customer service again (and I have to say that this year they seem to have improved their response/reaction time), I have been contacted and will have the door replaced on this particular model. When speaking to the service centre it became clear that rust in the water/ice door of these particular fridges is a "known" problem.
Clearly this particular model fridge has design/manufacture defects and it seems there are a number of "known" problems.
If you decide to buy one of these fridges, I would urge you to question the salesperson on the "known" defects with this model, apart from the two I have mentioned. The salesperson should know the problems and if not they should be able to find out. If you happen to buy a defective fridge, unless you are a very persistent person when it comes to having it fixed, your problem will more than likely fall between the cracks at Samsung. I have given this fridge a "terrible" rating because I don't believe one should have so much trouble with a fridge within the first three years.
Fridge didn't come with CO2 cylinder; bad customer service from Samsung and Harvey Norman – I purchased the Samsung Fridge from Harvey Norman, online. The fridge arrived on time but without the CO2 cylinder. The Samsung fridge manual stated that the supplier (Harvey Norman) would supply a free cylinder. being incorrect or Harvey Norman not honoring the product deal. The initial complaint on the Samsung Website went through and I received a reply asking for further details. I tried a number of times to sent the details that Samsung requested but the website refused to accept my email. I tried ringing Samsung but got the runaround. In disgust, I went to The Good Guys and purchased a CO2 cylinder for $59. Needless to say, I will never buy a Samsung product or anything from Harvey Norman. In any case, the fridge is good quality like any Samsung product, just don't expect any customer service in Australia.
