What makes salon cream go runny

briggsdj
briggsdj

Nothing that I do. Several tubes have been runny from the start - as soon as I opened them (even though they were well within their best-before time), and one (large) tube went runny after about 3 uses. It had been kept in a cool room, and was properly sealed. My old tube of Savlon, bought in the UK 3 years ago, in contrast, was still in perfect condition - although well past its use date. All the tubes I've bought that have gone runny have been bought in New Zealand, but, as far as I can tell, were manufactured in Australia. All were bought from a reputable pharmacist. So, I can only assume that its a manufacturing fault or that the medicines are being exposed to extreme conditions during shipping. Looking online, I see that other people have been complaining about the same issue.

Ok, I'm new to this sort of thing. I was bought up on a Chook Farm, The whole Family got scratches and open for all sorts of different infections. Even if one of our Dogs, was out huntingand come back, with some sort of wound. This ws back in 1970's. There was one thing in the' Medicine Chest' we would go for. SAVLON !!Back then, you could get it in a TUBE, or,, in a "Tub", "JAR" as a cream, you could spread, just like buttering a peice of toast.

Fortunately, I haven't had to use this product for a very long time. Now,, as life revolves, I am looking back, at things that worked best.

I find myself, looking for the "OLD" Savlon, when I see most people find it useless ?

I don't see, where it is made now, or,, where what contry it comes from. What I want to know is, does it still WORK ?

NO !.

Two reasons; 1) You cant get it to stay on your finger in order to apply to the affected area as it is so runny, 2) Formula has changed and has no healing properties.

Cheers
