After submitting a Google review, I finally received contact from the Scarboro team regarding this issue on 10 December. However, in our most recent correspondence (9 January), I was told the claim is with the warranty department and is still pending on Toyota’s side. I constantly need to reach out to Scarboro Toyota for updates on this claim, as no one keeps me informed and I continue to receive the same response.
My concern remains: I am continuing to drive a car they sold me with the engine light still on (which they advised is safe to drive during my last service on 29 January). I am deeply dissatisfied with Scarboro Toyota and sincerely hope they can resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Undisclosed Accident/Repair: Evidence of significant prior repair work, including paint overspray and colour mismatch, was not disclosed at sale.
Safety Concerns: The van was delivered with severely misaligned wheels and tyres in an unsafe condition, requiring immediate replacement at my own cost.
Faulty Parts: The Daytime Running Light was non-functional due to poor prior repair, and the digital rear-view mirror is broken due to incorrect parts being used.
Fraudulent Logbook: The service logbook appears to have been falsified with duplicate entries, completely undermining trust in the vehicle's history.
Poor Presentation: The interior was unclean, and basic items like tyre service tools were missing.
Despite providing a formal, detailed list of these issues and requesting a resolution under Australian Consumer Law, the dealership has chosen to ignore me completely.
I paid a premium for a "Toyota Certified" van expecting peace of mind and quality. Instead, I received a project van with hidden problems and a dealer who refuses to stand behind their product. I regret this purchase and cannot recommend this dealership.

For the last week before I picked up the car all my texts and phone calls were ignored. At the beginning I was told I would get a full car report and when my daughter finally picked up the car two-wheel covers were missing unlike in the advertised photo. When asked about them was told “you can buy them at supa cheap” This is what I would expect from Dazas car yard and not Scarborough Toyota. When the car was driven home by my daughter, I then discovered the clutch is worn and needs replacing. Months later I’m still waiting for the car report, I’m guessing it will mention the car needs a new clutch. after buying a car, you're pushed into discussions about warranty, window tinting, alloy wheels, paint protection, and other add-ons.
[Name Removed] is responsible for handling warranties, but his approach was incredibly repetitive and annoying. He kept insisting that the warranty costs $21 without providing the total amount. His explanations about the warranty were unclear, and despite asking multiple times for the total costs for both a 3-year and a 5-year plan, he didn’t give a direct answer. Instead, he pressured us by saying that if we didn’t take the warranty and the car broke down after leaving the dealership, we shouldn’t complain. It felt as if he was implying that any issues would be our fault.
In the end, we reluctantly agreed to take the 3-year warranty just to get out of the conversation. We asked to see the warranty brochure for more details, but it wasn’t shown to us during the purchase. After agreeing to the warranty, [Name Removed] offered us a $160 "freebie" for air conditioning services. However, my wife did the math and realized we were charged for the "freebie."
I later had an argument with [Name Removed] over the phone, explaining that many of the items he mentioned as covered after the sale were not included in the written warranty document we received a few days later. I told him it was unprofessional to make customers feel foolish, especially when he said, "If the car breaks down, don’t come back complaining, and we wasted his time after purchasing."
We were referred to him by the car dealer and hadn’t wasted anyone’s time. We eventually decided to cancel the 3-year warranty since the car has a full service history and low kilometers, indicating it was in good condition. Despite this, [Name Removed] continued to pressure us to keep the warranty, insisting, "If the BMW blows up after leaving the garage, we can’t help you!"
This was infuriating, as I felt we shouldn’t have to worry about buying a car from a recognized dealership, expecting it to be faulty.
