I have always preferred a firm mattress and the queen mattress that I purchased has remained true to its support from day 1. I am a male of around 110kgs and I find no issues, even surprised by how the mattress ends stay firm without sagging while sitting with full weight. Less reason to roll off the bed and shows good quality build. Plus the… Read more · 1
overall packaging was done very well as both base and mattress came in a double plastic wrapping which kept everything in clean condition. The screw in feet are a nice touch compared to the pin type which often fell out or pins broke when placing the base down on the floor. I went for the feet instead of the wheels as I'm not sure a rolling bed is nice to sleep on, however wheels do make cleaning under the bed easier so this concept will help those who want to clean with an easier approach.
What a marvellous invention! – The new bed and mattress have solved a few issues with my husband who has Parkinson’s Plus! We had to lower the legs so it’s similar in height to our old bed!!!! To be able to raise the head and foot of the bed is excellent and it is so much easier to change the sheets!!!! Show details · 1
A good choice. Comfortable – We've had this medium, king size mattress for 4 months now and we are very happy with it. My wife likes a softer mattress than I do and after testing many at Harvey Norman we found that this was the best for both of us. It was a good choice. The mattress contains Sense-Gel (never heard of it before), and it conforms to our body alignment and… Read more · 1
weight; and the edge support is very good. The cover is treated with SmarTex which makes it breathable, and bacteria-free sleep environment. It's not hot like some mattresses.
I'm not one to be impressed by technical terms and fancy descriptions but in this case they must mean something because the mattress is very comfortable. Hopefully. it stays that way and being Sealy, I would think it will. The warranty is good.
SEALY ELEVATE - HUDSON (Medium) – Previously I had a "Wonderest® Physio Plush" (Queen) it was okay not fantastic for around 9 years I noticed a slight gradual sagging problem occurring but persevered with it , the mattress lasted 9 years before forming a more noticeable dip of around 20-30mm around the hip area. This would aggravate and disrupt my sleep from a previous minor… Read more · 1
lower back injury, my guess is the springs or padding finally had their day.
I decided it was time to buy a new mattress I spent a few weeks researching various types and brands considering advances in design materials and settled on a "Sealy Posturepedic® -Elevate Hudson" (Queen Medium) The slightly firmer Sealy Hudson Elevate medium mattress with excellent edge support and coil design was more supportive for me having back pain than the plush mattress. I can only recommend this on personal choice. I'm 90 kg and my first nights sleep was great , I slept without waking up with back pain and slept 2 hours more than I usually sleep. I thought should have bought a Sealy Posturepedic sooner !
While researching various mattresses, I discovered some brands are not what they seem. Some people in sales will tell you anything like their mattress are made in Australia which is technically correct meaning they are assembled in Australia but wont disclose that they are made using imported parts i.e. from China) Check out the "insignia" mattress as an example if you can follow their procurement trail.
Sealy components ARE MANUFACTURED and ASSEMBLED in Australia"
My suggestion to anyone looking at a "Sealy Posturepedic mattress go in to your favourite bedding store to try one but first research the mattress construction online to get a better understanding. You can start here; https://www.sealy.com.au/sleep-hub/8000-hours-for-your-perfect-8-hours/ By the way don't buy ANY mattress without relaxing on one for a few minutes first, Im sure you'll agree and choose a Sealy Posturepedic, you only need to choose your model and comfort level !
My personal recommendation is try a Sealy Elevate if you're looking for superior back support and a high quality mid price mattress that performs as advertised.
.
Very comfy firm mattress, great for my neck and back inside – For the last 12m my old pillow top mattress that was only 8y totally gave out so I was sleeping in 2 hollow, not good at all.Noe I have my whole new bed, slimline base and my firm Sealy mattress idol still hurt ,always wii but I've got total support which for me is awesome compared to the sunken pillow top ..Thanks Sealy ,you make an amazingly comfortable firm mattress cheers ... We purchased this mattress to replace our current Sealy mattress that we’d purchased over 20 years previously. Didn’t look at other brands, we’d had such excellent service from our original Sealy we simply walked into the store with the intention… Read more · 1
of purchasing a new Sealy and, that decision has been vindicated, this new Sealy is every bit as comfortable as the previous mattress. Would definitely recommend Sealy to anyone seeking a quality mattress.
Follow-up · No, the mattress does not get hot overnight, it is consistently comfortable. We both like a firm mattress and this one meets our needs, it does not sag into the middle, it is firm and comfortable and offers great support if you have the usual aches and pains. Both my wife and I are side sleepers and we get an excellent nights sleep.
I purchased Hudson mattress in April 2025 It has started to sag ( I weigh 52kg) very uncomfortable feels dense and I wake up sore everyday I dread going to bed . i am now sleeping in the spare room king single mattress (not Sealy) would not recommend this mattress Lost money I could not afford Show details
Follow-up · This mattress is extremely uncomfortable I wake every morning really sore, and I dread going to bed Unfortunately I cannot afford to buy another mattress . I will not purchase a mattress from Sealy again sorry.
This mattress is perfect for myself and my husband, we are both sleeping much better and my husband’s back is much improved. It is extremely comfortable and supportive.Love the side walls that don’t sink in and the handles for moving the mattress are very welcome. Show details · 1
Follow-up · Still very happy with the mattress, as the weather warms up we are finding it cool and comfortable. Still turning every 2 weeks, the handles make this so easy.

The range of mattresses is simply over whelming ! But this one wasn’t too fancy and was the right level of firmness. It wasn’t bulky like lots of others and is easy to turn around when required and advised by the sales staff. It is comfortable and has little partner disturbance Show details · 1
You never doubt the quality of a Sealy Posturepedic bed. Plenty of other brands make this claim or that but it is only Sealy that delivers a great product and backs it with a genuine warranty worth having. Show details · 1
So far, so good. It's been a month now since we took delivery of our new Sealy Kingsize Medium Mattress. Have rotated it twice. No issues getting used to it, comfortable right from the start. Fingers crossed the natural body depressions which occur over time does not leave a mountain ridge between us. Will have to make sure we sleep closer… Read more · 1

Negative reviews
I purchased the Sealy Elevate Hamlet Plush mattress expecting a comfortable, soft sleep surface. What I received was firmer than my existing medium mattress, completely inconsistent with what Sealy promotes as “plush.” To make matters worse, the mattress began sagging after just a few months, despite following all care instructions, including… Read more
regular rotation.
When I raised this with Sealy, they sent inspectors who told me it was “unlikely” a fault would be found and dismissed the sagging as “normal” — something that absolutely shouldn’t happen with a new, premium mattress.
Sealy’s so-called “solution” was to charge me more money for a replacement I can’t even test, despite admitting it probably wouldn’t fix the problem. No proper resolution. No accountability. No care for customer satisfaction.
Sealy promotes itself as a premium brand, but the way they’ve handled this has been pathetic. I’ll now seek further advice from NSW Fair Trading.
I would never purchase again from Sealy...Save yourself the money, frustration, and physical discomfort — shop elsewhere.

Terrible mattress you just slowly sink into – I was after a firm mattress that you don’t sink into. The salesman at Snooze Ballina assured me that this mattress would be good. I tried it and it did feel good. It was slightly soft and supported my body well. But no one stays on a display mattress in a showroom for hours and the manufacturers know that. Once it had been delivered and I… Read more
was using it for a whole night another story became apparent. After a few hours the mattress gets rather hot under you, this is going to be great in the coming summer months – I don’t think! Also, and more important, you start to slowly sink into the mattress until you are stuck in a sort of trough. You move slightly and you are climbing over a ledge to another level. It is very disturbing and exactly what I wanted to avoid in the first place. One side of the mattress has now become sunken under the top layer. I have slept all over the mattress both top to toe and diagonally, each time after a few hours this sinking occurs. I have not had one good night’s sleep since this mattress arrived and I am getting a backache from this awful mattress. I complained very quickly to Sealy (after only three nights of use) and they came back with some flannel about sending photos of the mattress clearly displaying the indentation. This is impossible because the top layer of foam just slowly springs back and it looks perfectly alright again. The photos will show nothing. I am not impressed and after just a week I am ready to ask for my money back and try to find a decent mattress. I fail to understand why it is not possible to obtain a traditional sprung mattress in Australia any more. They worked well for decades and only over the last few years have they disappeared to be replaced by heavy, badly designed, foam topped mattresses. An old style mattress would be expected to last at least ten years, not less than a week like this abomination.

The fact that this mattress is made locally, and therefore contributes to our local economy was an important factor in our final decision. The mattress is so very comfortable. We are very happy with our purchase. Show details · 1
I didn't buy the most expensive Sealy or for that matter the cheapest. I'm reasonably happy overall but not ecstatic. I find the joins at both the top and bottom of the mattress quite flimsy. I expected more support right to the edges of all 4 sides, top and bottom. Show details · 1

Update after dealing with Sealy Customer Care: After my original review, Sealy replied publicly saying they wanted to “help and investigate further.” Unfortunately, my experience in private messages was the opposite. There were long delays between replies — at one point I had to follow up myself after a week just to ask whether they had even… Read more · 1
received my response.
When they did reply, I received a long chain of contradictory messages: first saying they could help, then saying they couldn’t, then saying an evaluation was needed, then saying an evaluation wouldn’t change anything, then suggesting I pay extra for a “comfort adjustment,” then telling me to contact the retailer, then offering to close my file. I was also sent a link that did not address my concerns in any meaningful way.
At no point did I receive clear guidance or genuine support, despite explaining that I am in significant pain every night and that the mattress has never felt firm from the first night.
I answered every question they asked, provided all details, and tried to work with them in good faith. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed, confused, and emotionally exhausted.
The mattress still causes me pain, and I still have no real resolution.
I’m sharing this update so others know what to expect if they need after‑sales support.
I originally had a tontine firm mattress but it started to sag, I need these for my severe back pain also shoulders. With my sealy firm it doesn't seem as firm as the other, and I am not sure what is going on, I still have my pain in the lower back, I am having trouble trying to work this out, I am not sure it is what it is suppose to be?
We had reached the stage in life where a new bed and mattress was needed. We discussed the various merits of different brands and made our decision with the expectation that our neck (wife) and back (self) problems would be finally eased and we were ever so grateful to find they were - beyond our expectations!! We are happy with the product and the salesman for demonstrating his confidence in the product Show details · 1

I purchased my Sealy Hudson Firm mattress from Harvey Norman just 9 months ago and it has already sagged. It was very comfortable and supportive when we purchased but quickly deteriorated. It is clearly poor quality as it has dipped where we sleep despite rotating it every fortnight. I tried to claim it on warranty. The warranty system and… Read more
customer service Sealy has is ridiculous. After sending them photos and filling in a form they are having me wait a month for an appointment for them to come out and collect my mattress and attempt to fix it rather than providing a replacement or refund. Of the 9 months we have owned it we have inly slept in it for 7 months. For a mattress to sag that quick is terrible quality. They contacted me yesterday to advise they are pushing back my repair appointment by another month. I cant even sleep on the mattress now, it is causing back pain. I would never buy a Sealy again.

Very comfortable bed once worn in. Definitely has helped to align my back better. Took a few weeks to get used to it and wear the bed in to get to a comfortable stage which is apparently a normal thing with any new bed mattress. Show details · 1
Goldilocks should have used Sealy’s Mattress Selector. I went through simple questions to determine which mattress I should buy. Luckily I found the exact match locally. I think it was one of the fastest purchases I’ve ever made of a mattress. It was comfortable right from the start. I’m enjoying it every night. Can’t believe Sealy got it right from the start and no bed hopping or bears were involved!!! Show details · 1

These King singles are easier to turn for us oldies. However, they were firmer than the full mattress we tried in store. We thought about it for a few nights, put on a topper and we’re now quite happy. We are sure that the firmer surface should be good for posture. Show details · 1
While comfortable enough and has reduced my back pain issues, it is higher than my previous mattress making getting in & out of bed more of an issue and with not being able to flip it, only turn it, I don't expect it will last as long as my last mattress. Show details
The mattress that I purchased has been very comfortable & great to sleep on. My old mattress was starting to give me back aches all the time, but with this mattress I have slept better than I have for a long time. So far after a year of sleeping on it every night, the firmness is still very much there considering it is only a single mattress. It's not like I can shift where I sleep so that the mattress can wear out evenly. Show details · 1
I received the Sealy MAJESTIC MATTRESS QS MEDIUM ELEVATE ULTRA on 14 January 2025. I was surprised it was so different from the display one I tried for half an hour although I was told the new one would be felt firmer than it, so I was being patient and following the care instruction to rotate it 2weeks after,I sleep alone and am a 55KG person.… Read more
the sad thing is, alter a few nights sleep in it, it developed dents/sags on where I sleep especially the shoulder position, I woke up a few times every night and found my heap sank down, have to move to the middle of the mattress which felt more supportive.
I have developed awful shoulder and neck pain which was not exist before, the pain began one week after slept on it and two weeks after developed lower back pain. What the feeling is waking up with sore and pain every morning? ?Seeing Physio since then till now.
Contacted Sealy and sent people to home and had a look, they said the dents are smaller than 3.6cm so it is not a manufacture issue and said a new mattress need 6-8months to adjust. Isn’t it a joke???I was told to be patient for 2-4weeks, and then when I complained they said it takes 2months, now it’s 6-8 months. So I need to see the Physio for 8 months for a mattress which has obvious problems?
I am sooo disappointed with this Australian famous brand Sealy. This lesson is too expensive.
I miss my previous King Koil Mattress it never brought me such problems for 18years.

Best sleep in many years – What a beautiful mattress. It's firm, comfortable and I have no sore spots in the mornings, after sleeping like a log. I like the height of it too, I literally glide off the bed into my first stride with no aches and pains. I truly recommend this product and I'll be purchasing more of this product for revamped bedrooms. Show details · 1
