Sealy makes you sick AVOID at your own peril!! – The smell made my wife, 1 yr old baby and me very sick. We all went to the doctors multiple times and could not get a diagnosis other than heart palpitations and aggressive constant dry coughing which only occurred for us at night of which results came back negative for any virus/ bacteria infection. We took the brand new Sealy bed off our base… Read more

and into another room and shut the door as we luckily kept our old bed in storage we put it back on our bed base. LITERALLY within the hour all our coughing had stopped including our baby and everyone had the best night sleep ever. Our bodies immune systems were so tortured and we were obviously all so exhausted from the toxic smell of the new Sealy mattress that we were seriously getting sick, our 1 year old boy was the biggest concern and it was within a half an hour of the mattress leaving the room and the smell clearing that his persistent cough that he had for over 4 weeks has completely stopped as did ours. We were so worried about him and yet ima ire Sealy would never own up to the toxic “off gassing” they claim as a normal occurrence in the way they make beds as cheaply as possible. Shame on you Sealy. Shame shame. You are the next Phillip Morris and it’s only a matter of time. Oh and another more trivial yet unbelievable fact is that is was lumpy all over, why make a product that does this to humans??? It blows my mind.

They don’t honour their 10 year guarantee – We began having really sore backs, and once sleeping on the floor in the living room, we attributed it to the mattress. It was sagging in the middle (this could be easily felt). We went ahead to purchase a new mattress with great disappointment, as the $3000 only lasted us about 3 years. At the till, the salesman suggested we contact Seally… Read more

customer service team as a mattress shouldn’t be so bad after 3 years. So we did.

They sent someone out 6 weeks later, to roll on the bed from one side to the next. He declared that there’s nothing wrong with the mattress and any sagging is within norm if sagging (up to 3.5cm). Nothing to be done and it was a huge waste of our time.

Trust me that we didn’t spend $3780 on a new mattress for no reason, but clearly, nothing wrong with it according to them!

Very disappointing! Don’t fall for their 10 year guarantee statement!

Love this bed – We bought a Posturepedic Luxury Collection bed several years ago and have been very happy with it. After testing a few beds in stores, we settled on a medium firm feel, and it has been great. I wanted wool in the upholstery, and that's been a really nice feature. We have recently replaced it with a new Sealy Posturepedic because we wanted a… Read more

My Sealy Posturepedic bed is extremely comfortable! – I have had my Sealy Posturepedic queen size bed for a few years now, and it is still as comfortable as the day i bought it. I love going to bed at night and never wake up in pain or discomfort from the bed. Would totally recommend Sealy beds to anyone considering buying one! good warranty, very comfortable bed with good support

Worst waste of money yet – Our mattress is less than 6 months old. It's a Sealy Mornington. It sags already on one side and there is a gaping bulge out the side. The sag measures 4 inches when I (170 pounds) lay on it and 2 inches when no weight is on the mattress. Sealy will not honour their "no-sag" warranty and yet the mattress has been bulging and sagging since about… Read more

Don't buy this bed – We bought a Sealey Posturepefic and after a few years the very high pillowtop started sagging where my husband and I were sleeping. Best quality mattress for your neck and spine – Working in I.T. I'm at a desk Monday-Friday and for a number of years neck and back pain was starting to bother me more and more often. I took the recommendation of a friend to replace my bed. Not knowing too much about mattresses, I was making my decision on comfort and quality of the manufacturing. After lying down on a number of beds, my top 3… Read more

were all Sealy. I went with a medium cushion top mattress which just seemed to hold my spine in perfect alignment. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! I am finding that each nights sleep is more restorative and I wake up feeling much less tension than previously. A complete bonus was the ensemble base I got as part of the package which uses a great fabric with very clean and modern embroidered lines. It's an excellent piece of furniture, looks great in my bedroom and it's built to last.

Never slept better – I purchased a Sealy mattress earlier in the year and I've been so happy I decided to buy another for our spare room. We tested it out last night and its everything we've come to expect from Sealy. Firm, sturdy and great support for both my girlfriend and I. This one is so good I'm considering swapping it over with the one in our bedroom!

Bad, mattress bad – This mattress (luxury collection, biltmore firm) is about 6 years old. Great in winter time, did not have to use an electric blanket. Also, has anyone had breathing problems, have noticed in the 12 months we have had this mattress, I have irregular heart rhythm? I sleep in the spare room on the orthopedicmatresses(I wish we had bought one for our queen size bed) the salesman did a good job to convince us for this Sealy. All crap, never slept on such a bad mattress in the 63 yrs of my life. Don't Buy It – Have had a Sealy Silken Luxury KS ensemble for three months. Both sides have sunk considerably with a great mound in the middle that feels like sleeping on the side of a hill. Great choice for a constant sore back – I'm 35 and have had a bad back for quite a few years now. hell was going on until I couldn't take anymore. We went in and layed on a few matresses, the salesman showed us the spring system on the Luxury Sealey which looked impressive and we found it the most supportive of the lot we tried. 1-week in, back soreness gone..{!} The first and second nights I woke with funny tension in the lower back but I think that was because my spine was adjusting to sleeping in the right position after years of matress abuse. My Wife loves it too, even though she never suffered any problems with the last but admitted it did feel a little wrong.

My advice as a back pain sufferer? Get your posture and lifting right. Keep your weight under control because if you're too fat finding the right matress to conform to your curvature isn't going to be a walk in the park and you can't really blame a matress. And buy this matress! I'm a rather normal weight, not fat but a little bit of a beer gut and the firmer matresss works wonders. Zero pain now and can sleep all night long :) Thanks Sealy!

I'm beginning to wonder if all the bad reviews are from matress competitors.. ?Seems extremely odd to me Everything Nothing

Con Artists – My elderly parents purchased their Sealy Silken Luxury Plush bed at the end of 2013 and I am writing this on their behalf. This bed was very expensive and purchased from Harvey Norman. referred the complaint to the Sealy Customer Care team immediately but it took quite a while for someone to come look at it and they only did so because it was at their convenience because they were staying at their holiday home. He was all talk and no action. Didn't even measure the bed up at the worst end and said that they needed to lay in the middle of the bed to even it out, give it 6 months and if the issue persists then contact the Customer Care Team again. He would then take the bed away for a week and add extra padding added to even it out. They complained again and requested that this be replaced at it is still under warranty. Sealy will not honour this and will only add more materials to this. My understanding of warranties are that they have to be honoured if the goods are faulty with a replacement or a refund. If this issue is not resolved we will be following this up with Consumer Affairs and or Today Tonight as it seems to be a common problem with your products which is obvious by the amount of complaints on this website, a replacement bed would no doubt encounter the same problems. Nothing Expesnive, bad customer service, faulty product

A complete waste of money – I purchased the best, with a 10 year warranty BUT only when I complained did I find out the 10 year warranty is a unilateral decision by Sealy with little consequence to the customer. with the bed supplied to the retailers, and therefore the public were not made aware of this so called 'natural consequence' but were mislead by the purported security of a 10 year warranty. The first 2 years were enjoyable. After that, a lump started to appear right down the centre of the bed. It was uncomfortable. Sealy refused to recognise the guarantee stating the lump was with an acceptable height. I could go on and I . Sleeping with a partner and a lump from head to toe down the centre is not acceptable. Have been very happy with mattress – We bought an SP Luxury double bed mattress nearly ten years ago for an antique iron frame bed, to rest on slats. My wife and I have found it very comfortable, no hammock indentations, no ridges. When we travel we can't wait to get back to the comfort of our own bed. When I went back a year later and told another guy about it he showed me the ones that arent pillow tops. All I can say is that capitalist society has gone nuts to make something so hot and to keep selling it. Im glad I got it on sale.

Update (03/10/2013):

Thanks for your response below Sealy, I did swap it to a Tokyo "firm" pillow top the night I read the reviews. I dont think the heat is a personal issue as the other 80 or so reviews below me say.
