Waiting for my deposit to be returned for 8 months – In September 2022 we paid an approx. $1,800 deposit for one of their products to be installed. Shortly thereafter, it was mutually agreed the product was unable to be installed at our premises. [Name Removed] from their operations team promised to return the deposit at the time. He again promised earlier this year when we followed up as it had not been received. It is now May 2023 and we have still not received that deposit.

Don’t trust this company and save your money – Bought the awning in first week of February. After using it for 1 week, there came a huge sound when closing. After contacting the customer service, they send the same installers said need to replace as its a faulty product. Sales person agreed to give me a sun lounge as there was a promotion at that time and still not received. Beware of this company as there are lot of reputed and genuine companies to get the same product. I caught for them. Im still waiting for my replacement, will update the feedback once get a solution. See the attached photo. Have send the same to them via emails but no reply. My next option will be to go consume affairs.

After seeing Shade Solutions awing’s online, we reached out to them for a quote to see if an awning was within our budget. Andrew promptly got in touch with us, asked about what Open House did, and to our surprise and gratitude, donated a brand-new awning to Open House. It was installed promptly, professionally and because of our Andrew and Shade Solutions generosity, our participants have a space they can use even more often now.

Sincerely on behalf of Open House, myself, and the people we assist, I would like to say thank you to Andrew and the whole Shade Solutions team. The last two years have been hard for many people, especially those that Open House helps, and to receive an incredible act of generosity like this new awning is incredible.

If you are thinking about buying from Andrew and Shade Solutions, go for it. Our experience with them has been incredible, the awning is amazing, and the installers were very friendly, professional, and effective.

6 months after full payment - I finally received correct product – I purchased a Motorised Shade And Roof Systems (2.5m x 3m) from Shade Solutions. awning (1.8m x 3m) which means that it is unsuitable and unusable for the space. A photo of the poor electric work is attached. The installer didn't know what size was ordered so asked me to contact the office to organise the replacement to arrive.

6 months later I have finally received the replacement, after constantly chasing.

Essentially I paid over $6,000 in October and it took 6 months for delivery. During this six month period I regularly asked for a refund and this was refused.

St tropes motorised awning – From initial consultation to quoting to installation, contact was professional and efficient. Within two weeks of ordering our sun shade was installed. The installers were friendly and their workmanship very good. We are very pleased with this addition to our courtyard, making it an even greater space to use throughout summer. Stay away from them – Been over 5 months now, will not returne calls. Took a 5k deposit, promised install by Jan. Still nothing and will not return calls and no one is ever in the office. be installed within a week we waited months for the product. After sending out the installer, who was fantastic, we then waited more weeks for the product. On confirmation of installation 2 installers arrived with absolutely no idea about the job. We sent them away and demanded the installer who measured up the job actually be the person who did the job. Seemed like the logical thing as he was the only one who knew the job. Fortunately he arrived the next day and the job was completed within a few days and they were fantastic as was the electrician who also completed the installation. On completion the owner [Name Removed] came to site to review the product. It was [Name Removed] observation than the installation was incomplete and they would rectify it immediately. Seven months later we are still waiting for this immediate rectification. [Name Removed] seems to have difficulty replying to emails asking for completion of a very expensive product, of which there have been numerous, yet was very diligent in sending emails demanding full payment for a product that wasn’t even in the country let alone on site. The pieces required to complete the job are essential and as they haven’t been installed we are now noticing corrosion internally in the structure. If these pieces had been installed as promised it is likely the corrosion would be prevalent. Knowing [Name Removed] from reading previous reviews I’m sure he will comment on this, it would be nice if he responded to our direct emails and finished a simple 5 minute job before he does so ! Overall we are happy with the product, the installers were fantastic but the customer service is very very poor and it is coming from the top. G.Bird

I finally received an email from Andrew Valk asking for my details and problem so he could organise a repair on 3/2/2023 which I responded to immediately. To date I have had no response from anyone at this company to repair my awning which is still under warranty. They have until 28/2/2023 to repair my awning, if this doesn't occur I will be contacting Consumer Affairs.

16 Sept 2022: Owner of SS agreed to finalise the debt, with conditions. I have since followed up on phone and email several times to finalise. STILL WAITING.

12 Sept 2022: When installing the awning, damage was done to Hebel. I did purchase the warranty (product and service) and requested Shade Solutions fix the damage. No effort made to fix the damage over many months of communication. Went to VCAT. Order made March 2022. Despite the owners' commitment in person, phone and email this is still unresolved. $10K out of pocket. Awning removed to avoid further damage. Be cautious.

awaiting the correct awning we have paid for. The sensor has still not been supplied and the poor contact/communication and failed promises from Shade Solutions keep on piling up.

Reading other reviews, this practice is consistently repeated at the customers expense and their service is terrible. Do not give them any money as you are guaranteed to regret it.

On 19th Dec we request the actual date and installer details - no response On 22 Jan we contact sales person via phone he advised the office would call the next Monday On 24 Jan receptionist [Name Removed] in office left a voicemail saying we would have an installation date by Friday 28th - we did not hear back! I called Receptionist spoke to her who advised stock arriving from overseas and look at install date and let me know by Monday 7th Feb 2022 - did not hear back! On Tues 8th Feb I called again and expressed concerns she said whole team was in office and will know date in 24-48hours. On 15th Feb still had no communication and emailed to request a refund and have had NO RESPONSE!

Do not trust this company and do not pay any deposits! We have NO awning and they wasted our time and precious money!! How can you do this and still be in business its insane!!

Was happy to continue with downstairs installation but they did not have the correct size shade and I would be waiting goodness knows how long! job via text message as well as through the office support email neither of which provided any response! Subsequent phone calls with various members of the team assured us that we would have an installation date soon and that we would be provided with an update. These updates never proactively eventuated and resulted in me having to follow up weekly. By mid December after endless excuses and conflicting stories based on who you spoke with, I had to resort to daily phone calls, emails and requests for updates. At this stage I also requested a refund of our deposit. I was assured by team members that my request for a refund would be processed but yet days later once again we we're asured our installation was imminent. We were finally advised of an install date of early February (only after repeated follow up), however the awning they were going to install was a completely different colour to what was actually ordered by us? Obviously this was not acceptable to us and again we reiterated that we wanted our deposit back. Fast forward to mid February and multiple assurances of refunds being processed on certain dates we are still awaiting any refund or communication from Shade Solutions as to where our money is?

Update as of day of posting - we have finally received our deposit back 2 months after requesting it

was contacted in December 2021 advised that the install was imminent and asked for payment of the remaining $8000. Given the ridiculous timeframe, the poor service, the bad reviews, the dishonesty, and failing to meet the agreement, I asked for a full refund. Initially staff indicated this will be possible, but then attempted to keep convincing me to receive delivery of the item. The owner then said I would get a refund after they onsold the system but couldn't say this would happen. They have now even refused to honour this and are keeping my money and stopped contact with me. They say the item is custom built, but it's not. Its prefabbed and then adjusted on install. The salesman disclosed this to me. Clearly they work on the basis of keep the money and hope the problem goes away. I have lodged with Consumer Affairs and sent a letter of demand. I have also now commenced legal proceedings. My next step will be an email to a Current Affair on Channel 9. I have legal advice that I'm on solid ground but it's a matter for Shade Solutions as to how they wish to drag this out. I asked for evidence of the actual cost to date of the item in an effort to negotiate on refund and I sell the system myself. Again they won't show me. Most likely because their cost is no where near the $10000 they have taken from me. There response to this will most likely be that this a fake review or I'm dishonest. I can assure you all this is true and I have all the emails and communications to prove it. If they respond to this and defame me in anyway then I will also consider civil options in that regard. I look forward to providing more updates to the saga as the company and the owner [Name Removed] continues to wiggle and try and cheat their way out of it. What's fair and just shouldn't be denied and I will take this all the way if required. As my right is, I will continue to tell this story honestly and as often as I can.

Highly recommend Shade Solutions – Just one phone call to organise a measure and quote. The installation was booked, and the boys were punctual, polite and professional. They worked well, and explained the unit and remote details to me clearly. Unfortunately Melbourne weather has been terrible since, so I haven't used my new awning much.
