Bought the Sharp microwave from the Good Guys. My experience was uneven heating and extreme over cooking when using sensor menu. sharp r350ew suffers from enamel chipping – as a microwave its great but the paint is bubbling and chipping off JUST out of warranty! crazy huh that week out of warranty the paint comes off inside and it starts to rust... Show details

with a soft wash cloth, so i havent used harsh products to clean. Im so very not impressed. I've never had a light on mine. I just presumed it didn't have one. Sharpe, if you see this review please take note and start making sure your products work, and don't start perishing before they should.

day, so was soon way out. Otherwise it did the job of heating and defrosting food evenly no problem, with plenty of power. No issues with the enamel, and was easy to clean, even with turntable. Got an "E6" error, so replaced it with similar but with a flatbed.
Microwave – This little microwave is OK if you live on your own or small family. It doesn't matter if your reheating or cooking from scratch, it's handy. I make a lot of rice dishes, pasta, vegetable dishes and use it for reheating the next day. It also has a defrost function. Show details
Built to last – I've had my Sharp Microwave oven for 18 years now. It's still in perfect working order, with a good power source for heating. The only issue I've had is a few blown light globes. It's been years since I've changed one and it's time to do it again. Where do I buy a globe and how do I fit it again? Any links to tutes for changing a light globe? Show details

running, carousel turning, fan and light on, but not heating anything, even a cup of water. Power cycling the unit had no effect. Of course, well out of warranty by this time. a grand total of just under 5 years of reliable service. My previous microwave lasted 12 years. Not good enough Sharp, especially since I am seeing the same error code and lamp failure complaints in a lot of these reviews. I Paid $191 for this, and they are still selling them, except they are now over $200.00. Chinese crap strikes again. Stay away from Sharp.
POOR QUALITY – Do not waste your money! Bought it two years ago just for normal usage! Now out of work and since the warranty is 1 year we need to pay out of pocket to service the device which might better option to buy a new one! AVOID buying this! Show details

period!! Many years ago I inherited my mother’s Toshiba microwave, she’d used it for 10 years, and I used it for 10 years before it failed. I replaced the magnetron and it ran for another 10 years and I only got rid of it to update the look. That one was Made in Japan. Now it’s all Chinese junk!!! Not impressed!!
A sparky flamey ending – Bought Jan 2020, noticed rusting/peeling on roof at around 9 months but still functioned without fault. Last week the wife called me saying microwave is making sparking/arcing noises and smells like burning plastic. Tested the next day, impressive sparks leading to flames.... This is a great microwave – I purchased this Sharp Inverter microwave, model R350EW. My best microwave yet. Perfect size. Very easy to work. Many different functions. I've cooked many different dishes that I never even thought to microwave.

The defrost option also takes longer and you can’t just touch your choice & start you have to put in the weight every time but it only lets you choose within 1/2 - 1kg and then I end up doing it longer because it’s still half frozen?? So you just end up putting in your own time which defeats the purpose of the sensor & defrost buttons. Sharp you really need to pick up your game!
Don't buy this microwave – My last Sharp microwave lasted 18 years. This one is just over 2 years old and has the seemingly popular error of E-5 with electrical smell and won't heat. Won't be buying a Sharp microwave again.

PAINT COMING OFF THE ROOF INSIDE AND RUSTED – I purchased approximately a year ago the Sharp microwave model R-395E(BS) serial number 005411239. The roof inside the microwave looks terrible and has sections where the paint has peeled off and is now rusty. I wrote to customer service to ask for advice and the response received was that rust is not covered under warranty. Show details
Stopped heating after year and a half – We were very happy with the microwave when we bought it,, we mainly used it to reheat our coffee mugs and tea cups. unfortunately it stoped working after a year and a half. E5 error after 16 months – This microwave worked ok for 18 months until the E5 error came up (which seems to be a common fault for this model) and now it does not heat anything and the warranty was only for 12 months. Apparently the touch panel needs to be replaced which is not worth the effort, especially if the fault may reoccur. For this reason I would not buy one of these again. Show details
Does not live up to it's name as a sensor – I previously had two Sharp Sensor microwaves model R350-Y which is no longer available. It had a variety of sensor options and cooked things very well. Poor performance trashy build – The heating function is weak. Within a year one of the inside releases on the door broke (or failed). Plenty of warnings on this site against this trashy microwave. To repeat, don’t buy. Show details
Worth paying more to avoid – Purchased just over 8 months ago. Over that period it has proven itself to be the worst microwave I've ever owned. approximately $120 ! I have rung other electricians who gave me similar quotes. That’s not uncommon in Perth where everything is expensive especially tradesmen. I need a globe in the microwave as I need to see the food and I don’t like a dark oven. So I am so disappointed as I am stuck with it because no one even wants a microwave without a globe because I see them on Gumtree being given away. You are not allowed to change the globe yourself because of the danger and I being an older lady wouldn’t know how to. Lastly it not easy to press the numbers because you have to press quite hard. Terrible quality, explosion and replacement failed too – First one we got started sparking and the light flicked on and off for a few months before it exploded whilst cooking and died completely. Second one did the same, now the paint on the bottom has peeled and rusted exposed metal is in the cooking area. Taking it to the tip now it's not covered by it's original warranty. Terrible quality. Sharp Microwave E-5 error – Microwave is only 17 months old and won't heat any more. Had same problem with the previous Sharp Microwave but thought I was just unlucky. Won't buy anymore Sharp products.
