For a firm that markets itself as fighting for everyday Australians, this was a deeply disappointing and disheartening experience. When people reach out to a law firm in distress, they deserve respect, patience, and professionalism – not to be spoken to rudely or made to feel small.

I would not recommend Shine Lawyers to anyone who values compassion and basic courtesy when seeking legal advice.

It has now been over 10 years and I still suffer from nightmares and anxiety from this experience in the work place.

whole 55k they explained to me that Centrelink and Medicare could possibly take some of it if I had a bill with them but they assured me that it wasn't likely they would because I rejected the economical loss as they advise me I should. They told me everything I wanted to hear and pushed me to sign the deed. After I asked for an itemized account is when they explained that I would be covering the disbursement loan bill from my 55k.. when I stressed to them before signing the deed or agreeing to any settlement I explained I would only accept the 55k as long as I got the entire 55k they made sure to call me instead of leaving it in an email where there would be evidence of our conversation to explain and reassure me that I had nothing to worry about that I would expect to receive the entire 55k but never said anything about me having to pay them disbursement loan, shine lawyers will tell you anything, they know what they're doing to manipulate you and coerce you in to believing they are on your side and that your getting the most fair result from them but that is so far from reality. Once I received the itemized account I was shocked to see what they have charged me for. It's insane when it was such a simple and straightforward case but they made it sound like such a complex and difficult lawsuit so they could charge me ridiculous amounts and take such a large portion of my compensation... I have seeked legal advise but who knows where I stand I mean they're the big guys they've probably done it where I have no chance of winning .. I just want it over and done with.. I just want to put this all behind me. The stress and anxiety that shine lawyers have caused me at the end of my case when I should be overwhelmed with happiness but instead I'm depressed and extremely sad thanks to them.. do not go with this law firm if you know what's good for you

Refused to go after and re investigate QBE bulling, threatening, intimidation etc not accepted claim, were happy to just pursue the 1 accepted claim from them. This was a clear-cut case involving what I believe to be a fraudulent will. Despite the substantial evidence pointing to irregularities, Shine Lawyers chose to act on behalf of the opposing party—someone with a clear conflict of interest and questionable conduct. Rather than upholding the integrity of the legal process, they appeared to facilitate and support the questionable claims of the individual who stood to benefit most from the suspicious document. What is even more alarming is that the firm either ignored or failed to properly investigate significant red flags: inconsistencies in the will, concerns raised by family members, and documentation that strongly suggested undue influence and/or forgery. Instead of acting as officers of the court, their actions contributed to a miscarriage of justice and prolonged emotional distress for those of us genuinely seeking the truth and the decedent’s actual wishes. This was not only disappointing but raises serious questions about the firm’s commitment to professional responsibility, due diligence, and the fair administration of justice. In my opinion, they have breached their duty of care and may have contravened professional standards. I would caution anyone considering using this firm—especially in sensitive matters like wills and estates—to think carefully and seek a second opinion. I will also be raising these concerns with the appropriate regulatory body, as I believe their conduct warrants formal investigation.

To our shock, when our new solicitor requested my son's file, Shine claimed he was never a client. This was despite having signed documents and their correspondence with the insurers confirming they were acting on his behalf. Due to Shine's incompetence and delays, my son missed critical deadlines for claim reviews.

I strongly advise against using Shine Lawyers. Their lack of professionalism and inefficiency led to severe consequences for my son's case. Stay away—there are far better options out there.

Quite disappointed – I think that shine lawyers are un ethical rude and quiet frankly they take advantage of the disadvantaged. They keep things.from you treat you like you are a moron.

reason given for their withdrawal was a toxic mould blood test I had done while I was no longer living at the property, which they claimed showed that the mould I had been exposed to couldn’t have affected my health. They also cited my doctor’s inability to directly link all of my health issues solely to the mould exposure. But of course, no one could reasonably expect a single source to be responsible for every issue, and they made this decision without seeking further medical expertise or advice.

I lived in public housing that was flooded six times in two years, leading to extensive mould growth that was confirmed as making the home uninhabitable. During this time, I developed rashes that have left me with lifelong scars and a lesion on my brain that is believed to be from a meningitis-type response to mould exposure. I was pregnant at the time, with two small children, and ended up sleeping in my car due to the unsafe living conditions. I lost all my belongings to flooding and mould, yet Housing refused to help or relocate us.

To be abandoned at this critical stage, just as we were preparing to go to court, feels like a betrayal. I am now dealing with epilepsy due to the brain lesion, permanent scarring, and the extreme stress that has devastated our lives. Shine Lawyers strung me along until the very end and chose to inform me through a letter, rather than a phone call, after everything my family and I have endured.

I will continue to make sure others are aware of my experience and tell them NOT TO USE Shine Lawyers if you are seeking support during such a crucial and life-altering situation.
