I ordered two SmartKits for two windows and neither frame was big enough for said windows. from ShutterWise was dismissive and simply said “yes”. I went ahead and measured as confirmed in the text exchange. I made an effort to leave a detailed description in the special order notes, given the instructions in the measurement guide were to notify if the architrave was less than 25mm. I wanted to fit the frame outside of this architrave (15mm), directly on to the wall, which I’d made clear from the text and notes on the order. Once I received the frames it was evident straightaway that they were too small for the window, and I highlighted this immediately with ShutterWise. In a few of Alan’s angry responses, he admitted to not understanding the note on the order, so instead of contacting me to clarify he just went ahead and made the kits incorrectly. I stated I had followed his instructions on measuring from the photo I sent him via text, his response was he couldn’t remember receiving it (I sent him a screenshot as evidence). I asked if they could remake the shutters to the correct dimensions, he refused. I asked if I could then be refunded as the shutters are useless, he refused. I even said I’d forego the $250 shipping costs to which I got an email in capitals from Alan refusing to take any responsibility for making and sending an essentially faulty product. When I asked why I wasn’t contacted if the order notes were not understood, Alan changed his story and passed the blame onto someone else saying he doesn’t deal with that area. The only thing Alan has done to “help” is to recommend ways to bodge them onto the frame, which I have explained is not possible due to them being too small. I’m left $1000 out of pocket and stuck with two shutter kits that have no use to me…

When the shutters arrived, they were very neatly packed—around 27 boxes in total. It was a little overwhelming at first, but everything was well-labeled, so it was easy to match each box to the corresponding window.

I highly recommend watching the assembly videos before starting. They’re helpful for understanding how the parts go together correctly. I only messed up one panel, which I had to unscrew and reassemble, but the videos helped prevent more mistakes.

The quality of the shutters and components is exceptional—I couldn't fault them at all. Installation was fairly simple once I figured out that you need to pull the pins and remove the shutter panels before screwing the frame into place, then re-hang the shutters. I must have missed that step in the instructional videos, but I’m sure it’s covered.

The shutters fit perfectly according to the measurements I provided, and although the assembly and installation required a bit of work, it was absolutely worth it—especially considering the roughly $5,000 I saved compared to quotes from various blind companies.

I highly recommend Shutterwise if you're willing to put in a bit of effort and want to save a significant amount of money.

Order arrived well packed in 2 packages. as mentioned, i got the DIY shutter kit so you literally have to build the shutter from the pre cut parts like a flat pack. To be honest when I first opened the boxed I was a little disappointed as the quality of the finish looked a bit rough. But then I realized the parts were all covered in a nice protective film which is easy enough to remove. All parts looked perfect after that. Putting them together is a little fiddly but i am quite handy so wasn't really a bit issue. If you can do a flat pack though you should be right. Once assembled I was very happy with the product. Shutter is very solid and quite heavy. Not installed the shutter in the window opening yes but have held it in place and fit is perfect. The finish seems very good quality over all. I would definitely buy from here again. Very nice quality and price.

your shutter does not currently utilise them. This is because you cannot get a Louver pin into the slats without dismantling the shutter and these are glued together very strongly, so this method is not an option. The spring loaded pins were simple to install and have resolved the issue of broken, hanging slats. The website has good pictures of these items and having the dimensions shown was very handy. received one 3 word text telling me to watch the video. I replied that I had and explained my problem and asked about a different part. Never got any more response. I went online and sourced the right part elsewhere for a seventh of the price delivered. Disappointed

Length of the plastic shutter pins was correct but the diameter was not mentioned. The ones delivered are too narrow and cannot be returned. $45 down the drain. They were fine for what they were though, even if one of the pins was not the right size at all. Shipping was expensive for something that would fit in an ordinary envelope too. Show details

Product was good but unfortunately the customer service was not great. We had trouble getting through to follow up and when we did the person we spoke with was very rude and called us dumb for not seeing something which was not there when we placed the order. I am amazed with this service - the quality and accuracy of the shutters - all five of mine were slightly different- was first class. The materials seem to be first rate as well. Installation is simple handyman/woman stuff. I will be ordering more for other rooms now I have seen the quality. This sounds like I work for the company - I don’t and my only gripe is slightly slower delivery than I was expecting. But only a few days and I’m regional.
