ABSOLUTELY PERFECT – Been using it for 8 years now. 2 kids. Need to replace tyres & handle, absolutely love it. 10 on 10 stars Spare parts are hard to find tho. Search in progress. Show details
Not worth the tag – I'll start with the possitive, it has a great bassinet you can leave the baby in overnight (good for holidays and sleep overs) I also love its steering and that's where it ends. When using the bassinet it is almost impossible to use the basket at the bottom, it is also very difficult to tilt the pram to go up a curb. However that does change once… Read more
you are using the seat, then u have a plenty of room for your bags and the tilt is easier, but watch out if you come across an obstacle in the road.... it will stop at the smallest of bumps. The seat though comes with it's own dramas, I feel the belt is flimsy and not secure at all. It does not recline for my child to be able to sleep.... would not really recommend it.

After only 3 years of owning a Wayfarer I have to throw it away – I purchased a Wayfarer in 2013 and it has always been problematic. Now after sending it back to Silvercross to be serviced they have told me it can't be fixed and i must buy a new one! I can't believe it's only lasted 3 years and it was only used for approx 18 months the first time round as we then got a Maclaren techno XT. I have been using for… Read more
my second baby and it is terrible to steer, if you hit even the tiniest crack in the pavement it bumps against it and you have to lift the front up to get over. The steering is awful and it sometimes take the full weight of my body to turn a slight corner. The plethor has peeled off the handle and belly bars and so black bits get all over me and my baby. The customer service at SilverCross Australia is terrible. They're not really bothered about helping. Terrible pram and I wish I had bought something else instead as I will have to buy a new one now anyway. I expected to be able to get more than 18 months out of a pram of good quality.
September 2nd 2017 Update: Worst pram ever than only lasted 2 years
Terrible pram what a waste of money. Only lasted two years then was dead. The customer service team is terrible and don't care. The wheels constantly get caught on the smallest crack, the pleather comes off the safety bar and the straps are rubbish. Only good thing is it looks nice but not worth the money.
Happy with my purchaee – I love this pram. I have been using it for two months now with the bassinet and it satisfies everything I bought it for. I didn't want to be one of those mums who block the aisles and can't manoeuvre in shopping centres, and with this pram I am not. It is really easy to fold up and out and I have mine stored easily in my Suzuki Swift. It is so… Read more
easy to manoeuvre in the shops and it has a really small turning circle. It's size also makes it easy to navigate narrow spaces.
I was also interested in a pram that was aesthetically pleasing and this is, it's so pretty. I believe much nicer looking than the bugaboo which was my other option.
I always knew that I was buying a pram that was not meant to go off road but due to living In an area with no footpaths I have taken it over bitumen and tracks quite often. It's a bumpy ride but it handles really well. The wheels seem fairly hard wearing and my baby has never been woken as a result of the off roading.
The hood and apron attach and remove easily which is handy. I quite often remove the apron and use it only when it's a bit chilly. The basket is good also. I removed the cup holde because it got in the way and kept getting caught on things but I bought a skiphop handle bar organiser and that now acts as my coffee holder.
Overall I am very happy and I would definitely recommend this pram.
Good pram – Pros - Pram can be folded and unfolded easily. - I am very petite with back problems so I can remove the carrycot or seat leaving the frame with is 3.5kg for me to lift easily into the boot. - Comes standard with cup holder, raincover (never used), carrycot for newborns and seat for toddlers and the hood color of your choice (mine is red). -… Read more
My husband is a lot taller than me so it's nice that the handle height can be adjusted easily.
- Smooth steering so if it ever feels stiff just double check if the front wheels are locked.
Cons:
- This pram loses points as it is EXTREMELY difficult to access the basket with the carrycot, so much so that I couldn't use it at all... now that my baby is in the seat, access is now finally possible.
Once baby can use the seat, access to the basket is much easier.
- Also cot needs to be removed to fold the pram (annoying for my husband), the pram can be folded with the seat but it looks very awkward and takes up alot of space..
Overall I would recommend this pram for petite/or those who cannot lift a heavy pram but still wish to have a stylist pram. (However if this is not a problem for you, there are other options that are better in my opinion)
Positive reviews
Light weight and looks cool – Very easy to maneuver, only about 12 kgs of weight, easy to fold and put into the boot, comes with all kinds of attachment and accessories to suit all kinds of needs. large storage space good enough to fit a lot of stuff. Hope the wheels were a little bit better build, i find it couldn't handle rough terrain but good for shopping mall.
Good first pram – Very easy to manoeuvre and operate, easy to assemble and pack down to fit in car. Strong wheels and a great shopping pram as the basket is huge which is great. The material can fade slightly (we have black) and the leather peels easily on the handles- but good pram otherwise
Brilliant pram – My wife and I have been thrilled with this pram. It is very sturdy, runs smoothly, our friends call it the rolls royce of prams. Reading through some of the other reviews i'm a bit confused, we've had nothing but a great experience - never had an issue with brakes or wheels locking up, it is easy to maneuver and I can put it in and out of the… Read more
car and put it together with one had while holding my bub.
The customer service has also been exceptional - they're extremely helpful and friendly and answer any queries promptly. Would highly recommend this pram to anyone.
Negative reviews
Good pram with some downsides – The pram is ok when using it on flat surfaces but when going up and down kerbs the wheels seem to get stuck and the pram seems to flex. Folding up is easy but it does require 2 hands. This pairs well worth a maxi cosi capsule but requires the purchase of extra adaptors. The leather on the handle will start to fall off after about 1.5 years … Read more
And the Support from silvercross has been terrible, they just ignore you
The breaks lock on randomly and it is extremely hard to unlock, we have just bought a new pram to replace the silver cross.
To be honest you would be better off with a $100 stroller
i would NOT recommend this pram.
Good for concrete – I’m really happy with the look and how it folds up and down but moving the front wheels can be a bit of a hassle as you have to lift the front up to reset their direction. Bubs is happy enough and comfortable in it though- I take him for walks in it to put him to sleep so very smooth on the footpath
Sturdy, comfortable but a bit heavy! – the wheels are not the best. we had few moments stuck on roads and it wasn't easy to drive around. folding and carry is not too difficult, just need to separate them to put into trunk although it's a bit heavy to put up and down.. it has luxurious feeling. Hand bar is comfortable to hold it as it's cover with leather feeling. it comes with cup… Read more
holder, rain cover and foot muff and bassinet. price wise i think it's worth it and you still have good looking sturdy pram which will last long. if i have a choice i will probably buy pioneer or surf just because wheels are bigger..
Recent reviews
Good pram except front wheels – Very good pram for comfort and storage. Front wheels are tough and many times we had problems with manoeuvre they stuck and need lifting. Break also does not work always. Otherwise bassinet and options are good. Hood is not extendable when seat is fully recline. Handle bar easily tears of
I feel like a princess when I use this – Big, not so easy to manoeuvre, not easy to fit in car but for walking around it really suits me. I feel like a princess with this high quality pram. A bit heavy for me personally but I have a lighter stroller for the car. Love the style and easy to walk around with

Probably the best stroller available now – Easy to maneuver with one hand, large undercarriage, fits my child from birth to 4 years old. Have lent it to a friend who ended up buying the exact same model (in a different colour). It does take up a bit of room in the boot, but that's with most strollers. Overall, a great buy!
The easiest pram! – Extremely happy with our pram after months of research, test laps around the babystores and endless "advice" Both my partner and I found the wayfarer to be an extremely easy straight forward pram! It's light weight and compact without compromising on looks, storage space and ease of movement. I found the customer care team in Melbourne extremely friendly and happy to help!
Terrible pram and wish I never brought it – At first this pram seemed pretty good, the bassinet attachment was really good and comfortable for bubs. The pram also looks great. Then after going on day time walks as my newborn got a bit bigger and we transferred to the seat it all began to show what a horrible pram it is. Stiring is TERRIBLE.. None of this one hand steering like all my… Read more
friends can do with there prams... Even on a smooth shopping centre flooring you need two hands to stir anywhere.
Going for walks outdoors is near to impossible now. Gets stuck on every single bump part of the footpath (where path meets road) very stressful when crossing a road where cars are around because you have to stop and pull the front two wheels up to get on the path or else you nearly flip your pram.
After going for a walk with my sister in laws pram I couldn't believe how amazing the feeling was to just effortlessly push a pram around one handed and over bumps and paths.
I spent a lot of this pram and my second is three months away and I'll have to get rid of this on an buy a new pram. My son is only 2.5 years so didn't even last me that long.
Don't buy this pram. I promise you will regret wasting your money
April 10th 2018 Update: Horrible from the start
This pram I would never recommend to anyone, I struggle to so much as get over a little bump without giving my child wipe lash and then having to literally to lift the front tires up and over. Got forbid if I go from concrete to a different kind of ground, I literally get bogged and can’t get anywhere while every other pram seems to glide past me almost looking in sympathy while I try to get it going again.
Anyone in my family that has taken my child in it says the same thing about it been like a semi truck to steer etc.
I have know found out that their higher models etc are much better with the wheels giving you much more support so I am purely rating this model and not all silver cross. I can see by looking at the newer ones out now that they look much different and more sturdy.
Terrible Pram for the price you pay!! – Do not buy this pram if u plan on walking anywhere with it. Terrible suspension, horrible on pavements and foot paths, front wheels will constantly jam when going up or down the slightest hill or crack in the path. And after just over a year of using it, the brakes constantly lock up and the whole pram stops! In several occasions now my baby has… Read more
almost gone flying out the pram it's that bad. So dangerous, and the only reason I have not contacted Silvercross is my 1 year warranty is up, and I have heard they have little to no after customer service so I won't waste my time. Only positive is the basinette attachment when my bub was a new born. He slept well when he wasn't being flung out the pram :/
Gorgeous pram, easy to use – I love the wayfarer, it is such a beautiful pram, it's easy to push, easy to recline, very easy to fold (even hubby agrees), has a large basket and I'm always getting complemented on how nice it is, plus it can sit really upright so bubs loves it being able to look around. I would definitely recommend this pram, I also love toucan change the color pack. It is also a great compact pram with a beautiful leather handle!
Would not have bought this myself – My mother in law bought me this pram and I kind of wish I'd picked my own now and forked out the money myself! I really wanted to love it even after reading bad reviews and it looks great and the steering is pretty good, however I've had a few dangerous moments with it now that have really put me off it. The front wheels randomly get caught on… Read more
ridges in footpaths/walkways. It will be fine and then all of a sudden you go to push it onto the footpath off the road and it gets stuck and refuses to move and you're trying to lift it over with a car coming at you. Or you'll be going up/down those flat escalators at the mall and the brakes jam at the end forcing a backlog of people behind you one of whom manages to squeeze past and lift it off (I only use the elevators now)! It's extremely bumpy on surfaces that aren't 100% smooth, don't think it has any suspension whatsoever, just rattles the baby around in the bassinet! Also the basket underneath is almost unusable with the carrycot on, you're very limited to what you can fit in there. The top hood is also very jerky when folding it up or down it jolts the whole pram and wakes up my sleeping baby. I feel like for a $950 pram it's a bit of a rip off if they are expecting you to exclusively use it in shopping centres on completely flat surfaces only and then having to buy another one for the other 90% of your walking around. Personally I would skip the purchase of this and just go with a more versatile option that won't get stuck on everything! Unfortunately I don't have the money to do that now or I would...
Edit: Ended up sending it off for warranty repairs for the sticky brakes and had it sent back to me saying there was nothing wrong with it and this was normal for the pram due to the brake mechanism. Apparently the pin will get stuck in certain positions and basically you have to move the pram backwards before pushing forwards when taking the brakes off to unlock it if it jams. This is just something you have to live with and can't be fixed. Seems like a design flaw to me but...if you have this issue I wouldn't bother sending it off as they can't/won't do anything about it anyway! If you pull it back and forth it will unlock so just do that every time you use the brakes! Also, I used a friends Bugaboo Cameleon and tested that on the same route that I walk my baby every day and found that it didn't get caught on any of the bumps that my Silver Cross was coming to a dead stop at, so it definitely is just an issue with that pram!
Atleast it looks good... Pity it's looks over actual function – Wheels come to a complete stop at every single pavement crack no matter how small. We have had the front wheels changed twice and there's little change. Might be ok in a shopping centre but you won't want to walk there. Hood clunks when raising and lowering waking your sleeping Infant. Looks great and I love the way you can have the seat facing… Read more
you.
Pity it's looks over actual function.
Updated: front wheels after being replaced twice are locking up again. Contacted the manufacture about our on going issues and was told its a pram for Shopping centres(ie smooth floors) not for walking to the shops for its price I expected a lot better and for it to be actually useable.
Lightweight visually beautiful unsure it's worth the $$$ – I have been using this pram a month now. I did a lot of research. I tossed up lots of different prams including the bugaboo bee and donkey. I ended up with this one as I wanted a lightweight and narrow pram this is both. I love the colour options and the fact they're not every second pram you see on the street. Visually, it's gorgeous, very… Read more
stylish. The leather toy bar and handle with the chrome looks great. The no pump up tyres are great as I have another pram which requires this constantly. The basket is a good size but needs to be deeper. The pram doesn't handle curbs or bumps well at all even a small pebble will put it off. It doesn't feel very sturdy which for the $$$ it really should. In a shopping centre, it's brilliant easy to steer. Love the fact it's reversible facing. Foot muff with magnetic and zips is great in winter. It was easy to setup it's a breeze to pack up I have a wagon so it doesn't feel like it takes up too much space. Hood extends to keep weather out.
You really need two prams if you own one this as your shopping centre "town pram" and then a jogging walking pram with decent wheels. This is me and I'm happy with that. Is it worth the money? No way. If you can pick one up second hand, do it as it's much better value.
Terrible pram & terrible customer service – The brakes completely locked mid walk and i had to push my baby using the front 2 wheels. i believe this is an unsafe pram as we clean it on a monthly basis. Silvercross themselves were hard to deal with and hard to get in contact with. I will not buy their products again.

Terrible pram, don't buy! – This pram is terrible. I purchased mine just over a year ago and have had nothing but constant issues. Sure it looks pretty but that is the only good thing about this pram. My pram actually broke in half after less than a year of use, my child was asleep in the pram at the time and was lucky not to be injured. Despite constant problems with the… Read more
brake, wheels and most of the working part's the manufacturer has not been helpful AT ALL. After care is terrible. I have to wonder who wrote the positive reviews if they are even real.
Beautiful classic look and functional – When choosing a pram it seemed like the most difficult decision of my life. But when I discovered the Wayfarer, I knew that was it. I had a certain budget (got a price match on it, almost $200 less than the advertised price) otherwise, if money wouldn't have mattered I would have loved a b***boo. This pram looks so neat and well made, every piece… Read more
fits perfectly, with zips and velcro in all the right places. No floppy materials or straps hanging around. The materials are of great and sturdy quality. It comes with a carry cot and reversible seat, which was important to me. With many other prams you have to purchase the carry cot and accessories separately. Also comes with a cup holder and rain cover. It has a decent size basket which has limited access while using the carrycot. We were able to use the carrycot until our son was 4.5 months old. It is quite small but it is a smaller pram altogether which I like. The seat has 3 recline positions and baby seems to be quite comfy in it. The harness and buckle are of nice quality.
I sometimes have difficulties releasing the foot break, it is just a little red button and it helps to pull the pram towards you or the wheels may block. So once you figured it out for yourself thats not a real issue. It's definitely not an all terrain pram but it can handle being pushed over grass and some sandy or gravelly paths and since we live in the city that's perfectly fine.
The height of the handle can be adjusted and to collapse it you take the carry cot/seat off. Some people may not like that fact, but it also means lighter lifting than if it were all in one piece.
I hate it – I was so excited by this pram but in reality I can't even go for a walk with it, I went to silvercross and the guy basically told me it's a shopping centre pram and what do I expect for the price I payed extremely disappointed I am
Fantastic Quality, Gorgeous Pram and not everyone has one! – I love this pram! First of all, its fantastic quality. One of the things I was looking for was a lightweight and narrow pram and this one was one of the smallest on the market. But in spite of this, it felt (and looks) really substantial. It has a strong and sturdy silver chrome frame, that I can take on all sorts of terrain and not feel like… Read more
I'm bouncing my baby out of the pram. Manoeuvrability is excellent and its easy to fold and unfold.
It looks gorgeous. I got the black version and it comes with both a carry cot and reversible seat. All pieces are cleverly designed to snap in and out easily and logically like a modular unit. There is leather and chrome detailing through out and the attention to detail is incredible. It is a very smart looking pram and gets lots of compliments.
I also love that its not a cot that you see everywhere, like the Bugaboo or the Mountain Buggy. It looks unique and always gets double takes.
Last but not least, it has a huge basket! It means I don't have to hang things off the handlebars because everything fits underneath, and doesn't take away from the sleek, gorgeous pram that it is.
Affordable and works well – Affordable pram which includes carrycot and seat. Easy for my wife to use and suits both our heights. I'm tall and she is 5 foot. Easy to push and handles well on different ground types. I like the fact it comes in a different range of colours and you can add accessories to the pram such as change bag. Great Pram - High Quality - LOVE IT – My mum has purchased me this pram as my baby shower present and I haven't had a chance to use it on my actual baby yet but cant wait until I do. not flimsy like most other small strollers. It can be put up and down with no fuss. It is bright and funky and is the perfect pram for me. I recommend this. Suitable for newborn up to around 4 years old.
Love this Stroller!!! Highly Recommend it! – I purchased the wayfarer from a friend of a friend as she had downsized to a stroller and I needed a second pram to have at my parents house who mind my baby 3 times a week. Well, the silver cross pram never made it there because after I used it a few times I decided to give them my pram and use this for my everyday needs. It may sound shallow but… Read more
I love this pram because it's pretty! The fact it's a dream to push is a bonus.
I'm quite small but husband is tall so the one handed swift action adjustable handle height is a dream and it is so light and easy to get in and out of the car. And I can put the brake on and off with the click of a button.
We have our baby in the carrycot at the moment which came with the pram (other companies make you buy this separate), but I've clipped the pushchair seat in also and can't wait for my baby to be sitting up now. I love this pram and feel proud to push it around. I highly recommend it. handles well, light, compact, stylish, big shopping basket. bit pricey but look and ask around. I got one less than 6 months old for less than half the price!
Another Perfect Pram from Silvercross – The Silver Cross Wayfarer ticks all the boxes. It is stylish, lightweight and practical in every sense. Now that she is old enough to hold her head up, I have switched her to the pushchair seat and see is just… Read more
loving exploring the world.
I love the fact that the pram is available in so many colours and you even have the option of changing the colour later on down the track simply by purchasing a hood and foot muff accessory pack.
The pram is very sturdy and has a very clever designed foot brake. I take this pram walking every single day and have done for over 7 months and it hasn't missed a beat.
It is small and compact yet is spacious and comfy for baby and has an incredible sized shopping basket underneath.
One hand handle adjustment and easy to disassemble. The Silver Cross Wayfarer is right up there with the best baby buy I have made to date.
Very happy – Great product for the price. Pros: lightweight, attractive and comfortable. Cons, wheels could be sturdier, hard to manouver up steps. Good for city. Would not recommend for hilly or sandy terrain.
100% perfect pram! – I love love LOVE our Wayfarer! Not only for it's looks (the chrome and leather handlebar, the gorgeous carrycot and the colour selection!) but it's versatility, performance and all-round ease of use! function and the freebies that come with it! Was looking at an icandy, but would've paid $1000 for the pram PLUS $300 for the carrycot (100% necessary for newborns) and $80 for the maxi-cosi capsule attachments! Our wayfarer came with all of those PLUS a raincover and cup holder! Fabulous value for a fabulous pram. We paid around $680 on special at Baby Kingdom.
Really like it! – I took the time to come back to the website and write the review after 4 months of using the pram since I think this is a great buy. The pram came with everything so I didn't need to worry about purchasing anything separately. I like that I can change the colours if I want to in the future, easy to use and everything clips easily. would have been better a bit bigger though as sometimes they get stuck. Also, some other prams have seats that go completely flat but that doesn't bother me too much.
Wheels are important – Ok. Here goes. I'm all about the research and did so diligently for this pram purchase. Unfortunately this one had just come out and there were very few reviews, I really trusted the whole Silvercross name thing. I was also swayed by the specs; sturdy, light frame, big shopping basket, rearward facing ability, easy to use braking system (hey I… Read more
can wear thongs!), the bassinet included and the general quality feel. It's a pity they don't have a test footpath in Baby Bunting.
The wheels are bad. Like, really awful.
I wanted to ignore the realities of it all as I began having to pick up the pram to go over little cracks in the footpath or push really hard on some bit of plastic mold at the back of the pram to try and lift the front wheels up. I could no longer ignore it when my partner, who wasn't used to the "ways of the wayfarer" went to push it over the lip at the end of the travelator at our local shopping centre and almost caused a pile up as it wouldn't budge. He had to lift the whole pram up in an adrenaline fueled split second. Our Wayfarer struggles to go over a hose on the footpath.
Faced reality, and called Silvercross who told me that "no one else had reported any problems with the wheels". After going through, patiently and calmly with about 3 different people the problems and getting told repeatedly that I've been using it in the wrong environments (footpaths and shopping centres...?) they did call back today to offer me some new front wheels that have just "come in" (the Pioneer has just been released, exactly the same pram but with better wheels). Look this is a great development and I'm happy that this is happening. Let's see if they make a difference.
What I'm not so chuffed about, why I decided to sit down and pen this review is that after an amiable chat with the staff member and a legitimate step toward resolution and thank-you's from me, she decided to finish the exchange with, "you just must be using the pram in the wrong places". So if you have places other than footpaths, shopping malls, driveways or flat surfaces, give this pram a red hot go. See how far you get. A good work out for the biceps, lats and core lifting it up and over. Light frame, quality finishings and fabric, the bumper bar rocks. Wheels. Manouverability.
The worst decision I made! Terrible customer service – I purchased this pram for these reasons: 1. Light weight 2. Easy to fold 3. It looks attractive I really should have done my research. Although I tested it out in-store and it seemed to handle fine, the minute you add a baby the pram is incredibly hard to steer! I have to pick the entire pram up sometimes just to move it around a corner. It… Read more
also rattles and feels like the whole thing will fall apart. As my baby has gotten heavier, now 10 Kg I don't even go for walks anymore because it just isn't worth the hassle of trying to steer the thing which constantly pulls to one or the other side. It is actually easier on my body to walk with him in a carrier. Mind you I have all these problems on a smooth surface being a footpath and tiled shopping malls.
To make matters worse, when I contacted Silver Cross informing them of how unhappy I was and perhaps there is something wrong with my pram they completely ignored me. I got absolutely no response! I am usually not one to write a bad review but after giving them the opportunity to help and then get ignored my tune changed.
Don't be fooled by this prams good looks. It seems to be good value but trust me, it isn't. It is worth spending the extra money on something that can be used comfortably by the parent. Needless to say I am now purchasing my second pram. My Son just 7 months. I definitely wasted my money. Light weight, Easy to fold, Attractive Steering is terrible, Rattles, Customer service is appalling.
