Why is the lint trap not accessible? – Very difficult machine to navigate? The wash cycles are ridiculous long!? I Can’t find anything accessible lint trap wise to clean out!? Apparently there’s one around the back ,.. underneath the machine? Well that’s just ridiculous! How are everyday consumers supposed to get to that on a regular basis? … call a plumber Everytime I need to clean the lint trap? How often do I need to do that?

Not great! – Purchased 4 years ago, have not really liked this machine from beginning. I feel it has ruined clothes, doesn’t clean properly, builds up with grime, and has just broken. Does not drain and stops half way through cycles. It is also the noisiest machine and shakes around the floor. Constantly having to push it back into place. Not great at all! Show details

Never again – This would have to be the worst product I've ever bought. I am not surprised that it has been discontinued. So many problems. I have contacted Simpson Appliances several times by email, no response. Calling them was a lost cause. I just kept getting handed from one person to the next. So very disappointed with them. Show details

Good machine – Have had this machine for about 5 years and it’s still running perfectly. Would love if you could add items after you turn it on but unfortunately you can’t. Would also love a shorter quick wash. The shortest wash you can get on cotton items is 55 minutes. Show details

Perfect – It has been an amazing experience using my new washing machine and to actually have our clothes come out nice and fresh no matter what product we use for it. It is a nice and easy set and is easy to use. There is a big range of cycles to choose from and even the cleaning process is really nice and easy.Couldn't have been happier with it .  Show details

Exelent washing for a Simpson brand – We got this about two years ago as our 7 year old washer packed in sadly as it was great but the Simpson brand 8kg washer dose a great job on all our cloths and at the time we picked it up for a great price on sale. The only negative we found is it sometimes wobbals/moves about the floor  Show details

Great choice – Considering we'd looked at much pricier washing machines, I'm glad we landed on this one. The 30 minute wash is perfect for most clothes, and in fact what we do most of our washing on. The other programs are also handy and given the size we can fit a King size doona if needed.  Show details

It try's tried to run away! Not a good buy – We bought this a year and a bit ago and for a while now it keeps trying to slide its way outside! It's moved at least 1 and a half meters from its sitting place. It dose do a great washing job but it's very un safe moving around. We're planning on drilling some kind of catch on the floor to stop the slide  Show details

Simpson SWF12843 Fantastic Washing Machine – Set it for 30 mins and it does it in about 32 mins. I suspect the machine takes 2 mins to warm up and away she goes. When finished it does beep but if you read the manual all you do is press the "P" and the Temp button at the same time until you hear a fast beep and that means the beeping sound is disabled. Washes clothes well. Only came today… Read more

but managed to do 5 full washes as our last washing machine the

BOSCH piece of junk started to pack up just past the warranty period and on Thursday it finally gave up the ghost.

Paid $546 from Harvey Norman in Perth WA. Free delivery. $20 to install and $20 to take the old one away.

Paid for the 4 extended warranty so have 2 years from Simpson then the extra 4 yeas from HN.

The unit is far quieter than the bosch we had.

Once its finished it turns the power off so one saves a bit of power.

Once you close the laundry door you can't hear it running.

Bloomin fantastic 11 out of 10 from me.

One negative from HN is they don't seem to give one an invoice any more either via email or a printed out version.

This has happened twice now from two different stores here in Perth WA.

Excellent machine! – Very user friendly, does the job it says it will, haven't had any issues with it since purchase. Was a great price at JB Hi-fi for the quality and size of the washing machine, loads of functions, not too noisey. Can't really thinking of anything bad about it. Great Machine – Purchased this washing machine last year. Great machine and washes really well. Unfortunately it broke down 13 months after purchase. Was on the spinning cycle and it made a terrible noise and black smoke was coming out of the machine. Just got a replacement machine under warranty. Hopefully this one will last as they are a great washing machine. Plenty of cycles to choose from and it is quiet whilst in use.  Show details

Disgusted! – Seal failed on the front door, apparently due to negligence. Cost of replacement is over 200. The machine is 6 months old. Okay, I get that seals arent a warranty item, but after 6 months of use, thats not fair wear and tear. Never again, will i purchase another item that belongs to Electrolux especially after this email reply "We are… Read more

pleased the technician has replaced the seal.

We can appreciate your disappointment but appliance damaged due to accident is not covered under warranty. "

Good, but need an iron at home – The machine is really good, water efficient but once you wash your cotton clothes that definitely will need an iron. Not so loud, if the door is shut in the laundry room you will barely hear the noise. One of the feature that I love is the prewash function, which allows soaking the clothes before washing, saving the hassle of trying to remember.  Show details

I call it Marge Simpson! – very happy with this machine, my first front loader. Don't like dropping clothes on the floor all the time but I'm sure a washing machine drawer will be a bit of help to raise the height. It does a beautiful wash, and I like that I can choose different times, with a quick wash taking only 20 minutes. Make sure you clean the filter regularly & this one will go for years. Very happy.  Show details

A manufacturing fault blamed on customer. I didn't build the washing machine – After a service issue was raised by the store I purchased my Simpson washing machine from, I received a call from there service department promptly. I had mentioned to the technician that the screw holding the door to the hinge has broken in half and is lodged in the chamber. The technician said that I would incur a call out fee of $160 + any… Read more

additional charges for parts and time. How this fault isn't covered by the manufacturers warranty baffles me. This fault has occurred during the 2 year warranty. The technician said it could be my fault for slamming the door hard, this is impossible as I am the only one that uses my machine. I think he is passing the buck as the screws holding the door were of a weak and poor quality. Very disappointed with Simpson, this is what happens when the service side of a business is outsourced. For such a large brand name and part of one the biggest brands in Australia ( ELECTROLUX ).

I wont be buying anything from this brand range again if I incur any these fees.

This is the worst! – I don't usually write reviews but this item is so bad I feel the need to warn others about what this beast will do to their lives. Our old machine was noisy which is the reason we decided to purchase something new. This new machine sounds like an aeroplane taking off in our laundry. The whole room rattles and the dogs go crazy, sending the… Read more

household into a frenzy.

When it finishes the cycle the beeps go off like when leaving the fridge door opened... intermittently... and they don't stop... until you surrender and stop what you're doing to attend to it. Making me appreciate that my children are no longer young and trying to sleep during the day.

The door is stiff and difficult to open, feeling like you are risking breaking it if applying any more force (which I'm sure will happen sooner or later). The buttons are hard to press, and if trying to turn it off when it 'comes alive' (read on), it just refuses to die.

For some reason there are settings, which you can't use, but they are there anyway.

The wash cycles are something along the lines of 4 hours or half an hour. No in between. We have been doing 2 x half hour washes while wishing we had kept our crappy old machine.

The main issue with this machine however is when it gets to the spin cycle. The machine turns into a crazed living, jumping, frightening metal bully. It jumps around so much that it could quite easily jump all the way out the laundry, and throws whatever sits on top of it (like the box of washing powder) all over the room.

Our dogs have been having nightmares and developing minor personality disorders as a result of worrying about what this strange, crazy imposter is doing in the house.

My husband is starting to smell as he refuses to wash his clothes in this, claiming that he would prefer to walk to the creek and bang them on the rocks.

We've had the machine for a week and are thinking of increasing the premiums on our home and contents insurance before it does some serious damage.

The one star rating given to this product was a mandatory requirement of the review, not something I wanted to award. Zero stars. Counselling required.

Washing machine – I find it takes a long time to wash, unless I go with fast wash which is still quite long. It is quiet but does not spin clothes to a satisfactory dryness, so if there is no wind clothes dry out stiffly. I think it washes reasonably well. I have just changed to front loader.  Show details

Good for the price – Happy with it so far. It has enough programs to offer flexibility if you want a quicker cycle, and the Easy Iron program is a good one. The ability to add items after the cycle has started was a bonus, and in my case quite often needed. It's a bit noisier than I'd hoped, but it washes my clothes better than my previous top loader, so I can live with that. So far it's proven to be a decent middle of the range front loader.  Show details

Rubbish – Got ten years out of the last Simpson. This one blew up after 15 months due to 5c left in a pocket. Yeah being honest. But to wait a week for a service call with washing locked in in terrible. And no guarantee when they come they will have the spares so maybe another week on top.. My old 8kg Simpson washer was better – It does do an excellent wash is very quiet and was a great washer for the 34 days I was able to use it then all of a sudden power to washer I checked power outlets they were fine so machine was dead the other thing that was odd is there is no lint filter I have always used/brought Simpson brand but I'm now seriously thinking of changing to another brand I can't be without a washer for weeks at a time waiting for repairs/replacements.  Show details

so far so good – It's super quiet and does a great job. I'm really happy with it, my 1st front loader. It uses so much less water and is easier on electricity than my top loader was. Gentler on the clothes with lots of wash cycle options, I just wish it had a lower or shorter spin cycle option than 800. If it lasts as long as my old top loader, I'll be really happy. (but use minimal detergent as the rinse cycle only just does it)  Show details

Buy something else. I wish I did – Not very impressed with this model. I had a Simpson front load washer previously and it lasted me about 8 years, which was standard seeing as though we live in a cheap slave labour made, disposable crap era where nothing is quality and nothing is built to last. This model machine is of that standard. I can't believe how much better my old Simpson… Read more

was in comparison to this model.

* One week from purchase the seal came loose and tore. The seal was replaced eventually, after two months of not having a washing machine, as I live in a large country town, and the repair was contracted out to the only washing repair person in this town who left our machine as their last priority.

* There does not appear to be a lint filter, which I didn't really think to ask about when I bought it. It does not remove lint well.

* It leaves grey stains on your white clothes and sheets.

* It also gathers pet hair into little balls and squishes them into corners of things like pillow cases and quilt covers.

* It turned my white towels yellow.

* It stops about ten mins into nearly every cycle, and then beeps at you with ' error code 10' or something

* The fast wash is not fast. It takes an hour or more. My old Simpson washer had clothes done in half an hour, not still dirty and didn't beep at me constantly.

I regret buying this machine.

I will do my research better next time and not just rely on a brand because it has been good in the past.

Had it for a year now – The washing machine has overall been great. We've gone from a Simpson top loader which we had for just over 10yrs to a front loader (never going back to a top loader!) I've had a few puddles of water on the floor over the past year - this is something of concern Three or four times it hasn't spun and the clothes were still drippng wet is also… Read more ·  3

a concern

A few odd noises every now and then, but I'm hoping it's just because of the RPM on spin.

90% of the time we run it on Colours - 30 degrees - Spin 1200rpm - Time save.

These setting can't be faulted and with just over 1hr running time It's not an unacceptable time frame to wait.

Our water usage has almost halved compared with what was being used with the top loader.

Even though it doesn't have a lint filter, we haven't had a problem yet (average of at 2 loads each week day, 3 loads each weekend day).

We did have problems with a couple of clothes getting holes/wearing out quicker but after changing to liquid detergent every problem stopped.

We are a wear once and wash family (including towel use) and the life span on everything I feel is going to be substantially longer that what we were getting with a top loader.

**HINT HINT** Leave the washing machine door open when not in use. This will reduce mould/mildew and stop your washing machine from smelling musty (took us 3mths to figure this out).
