What a JOke they are. REd Nose Clowns – Zero Star, not 1 star. Ive waited 17months now. Paid it off in full, there incapable to run even a circus. There a bunch off red nose clowns. They couldnt communicate with Western Power for my Meter box upgrade, that took 1 year to complete. Then the sub contractors wont come because Skylight didnt pay them. install I received an email saying my installation wasn’t going ahead as they’d changed finance companies. Called every number listed for them including the salesman, admin, operations and general office numbers, nobody answered. Still waiting for my refund.
I also followed up and Western Power and Synergy had not even received the DES requests to perform the work, so this install was never planned to go ahead.

experience and a battery system that was "not fit for purpose." It was noted September 2022 the system was not working and several attempts to contact installer and Skylight energy with no result. Complaint lodged with the WA Building & Energy Commission (DMIRS) in December 2022 involving several inspections by the WA Electrical Inspector and the Building Inspector. At this time we do not believe the system worked past the first 24hrs following installation. Fast forward to December 2023 following a year of stress with multiple delays by Skylight Energy the WAB&EC has found in our favour and awarded us the cost of having a third party company remove and replace our system. Skylight Energy to this date have not complied with the order and continue to ignore our emails. Next step is to lodge with the Magistrates court. If anyone is interested especially in Perth WA we would be happy to form a class action.
Avoid this company. I am still waiting - 10 months on – I was offered an Alpha ESS 3B Solar battery for $6000 from Skylight Energy. No other retailers could match that price and I now know why. offered me an alternate battery, which I declined because I had done my research and wanted the battery I had ordered. I rang again in April - still no supply. In June an alternate retailer told me that there is no way anyone could supply and install the Alpha ESS 3B battery at that price. I rang Skylight again in June and they again tried to offer me a different battery. Again I declined and said I want my deposit back. I have not had an email response since January, despite me sending multiple emails to them. I noticed that their call centre is now overseas. I have made multiple calls in July & August only to be told they are 'waiting for my refund to be approved'. I most recently rang in October and they are still 'waiting for my refund to be approved'. I have now lodged a complaint with the Energy and Water Ombudsman. Skylight Energy offered something they could not deliver. They tried the bait & switch. They are stalling on my refund. I don't know if I will ever get my deposit refunded, but I want to warn others about this company. They will say that these bad reviews are fake, so I have included a copy of my quote and invoice.

deposit. I have noticed there are many disgruntled customers on this site (as well as the usual company employees posting glowing reviews). Some have even been to court to get their money back and won – but Skylight still refused to pay. Anyone who is interested in a class action against this company can contact me through this site and we can join forces to make them pay or lose their license to trade. I will be lodging my claim in court this week. They should not be out there taking people's money and disappearing. line diagram (SLD). At one stage, after 2 months Jean had drawn an incorrect SLD, full of errors which I have marked in red on the attachment. I have also approached on my own the Growatt’s technical department and they advised that the proposed system would not work. I have requested in writing the termination of the contract and return of my deposit. Skylight Energy is not responding to my E-mails and not taking my calls. Skylight Energy has demonstrated lack of technical understanding of electrical systems, total disregard to the contract obligations and canceled all communication with the client.

Update. They wanted to collect the system and give me back my deposit after they had taken the goods. I refused and said cash in my hand otherwise not happening. They have since tried to have dmirs wa hold me breach of contract. The reply from them was no breach but property left on site and not recovered.

with this and that will it do this and was told yes to all my questions but they still said it is not in writing on the contract so it is not what was agreed on (this is stuff like will it power my house in the case of a black out and will it switch over automatically I was told yes) and you guessed it it did not run my house only my lights and now after fighting with them my fridge and cpap machine but nothing else.
The guys doing the install were absolutely amazing they went above and beyond they did a great job but were held back from doing anymore by skylight which I can understand if you don't get payed for something you aren't going to do it.
I was told it would be 2 weeks from when I signed up to when it would be completed I signed up on 17 of November after the installer coming back 6 or more times it was completed today 4 of May so 6 months later and it is still not done how I was told it would be.
oh I should also mention there were 2 installers the first ones did an absolute disgraceful job and the second lot had to fix it all up. but the install was not the main problems we had.

Excellent Product, Excellent Service – Bought solar panels from Skylight Energy in hopes to save money from high electric bills. And I was not disappointed with my purchase. Their customer service is exceptional and they are very accommodating from start to finish. I highly recommend them if you want to have exceptional quality solar panels at a very reasonable price.

is taking us to NCAT to pay them $740 in "admin fees" because, according to them, we are liable for the cost of the 3 "inspections". We weren't even told we would have to pay for those "inspections (the product was under warranty) at the time they send the contractors to assess the problem Skylight caused in the first place. They also refused to provide the outcome of those inspections that they are demanding us to pay for. Effectively they want us to pay them to rectify their dodgy installation and for their own contractors declining to do the job for them.
The problem with NCAT is that technically there is no downside for them to make frivolous or spurious claims like this, because NCAT rarely awards damages for costs. But, what an absolute hassle and a waste of time!
When we brought up the water damage to their attention, they said that we can't be compensated for the damage they caused because such claim needs to be made within 1 year from the installation. Even if it took them 2 years to rectify the problem that occurred shortly after the panels were installed.
It is a scam! Skylight Energy is by far the worst company I've ever had to deal with.

I referred Skylight 2 other household, so you would assume they'd take extra care to support my install properly and fix the damage they've cause to my new property... I dare not imagine how Skylight would treat my issue if they were paid in full.
No stars would be appropriate, they were reasonable with their quote and came out to install within a couple of weeks, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. Post sale service, installation, care factor - zero, bordering non existent - unless it came time to collect the STC and money - they still have not aimed up to fix the issue that they've caused but as still seeking payment - so you've been warned. A picture paints a thousand words: they cut the sarking, told me don't worry it was patched, ceiling gyprock now riddled with mould spores because of the water damage. This is my honest review to help other consumers, my only hope is that they've changed their ways and put customer feedback first, taken it on board and act in the consumers best interest.
