Sagging terribly – Bought the mattress just over a year ago. Had a Tempur Mattress before this and wished now, we'd replaced it with another. This mattress is terrible and so is the services. Sent it back because it sags on both sides with a big hard ridge in the middle. "Nothing wrong with it", they said. NOT a cheap mattress, NOT a good mattress. Will NEVER buy Sleepbreaker again! Just terrible as was the aftermarket service – Absolute rubbish sunk in the middle both sides within 6 months and were not big people they took it away said they were going to fix it meanwhile we had to buy a new mattress until we got it back all they did was put a new top on it and it sunk straight away they didn't want anything more to do with it and it cost $3,900 so we expected it to last a lot longer never buy a sleepmaker again. Best mattress ever!!! – Had one for the last ten years. So comfortable. Many visitors that have even sat or laid on top have commented the same. Just bought a miracoil because I got it cheap. Old one is going to my 12 year old. Best mattress ive ever slept on. Show details
Buy a Sealy instead – Our bed, which came with a 10 year warranty, failed after 6 months, by sagging on one side. Warranty have taken the bed for inspection twice, but have failed to fault the product. All this time, I'm left either sleeping on the lounge, or more recently, propping my side of the mattress up with a pillow beneath it, so I can get a nights sleep. … Read more
This process has dragged out for over three months now, still without resolution.
Hopefully, fair trading will help us.
Before buying Sleepmake, compare reviews with Sealy.
Firstly, Sealy actually have their own website which you can contact them on and even review, these guys don't, trust me on that one.
I've never in my life been treated with such doubt and disrespect as I have through the purchase of this product.
One of the most stressfull times with no satisfaction from Sleepmaker – Purchased Dunlopillo Sleepmaker Windsor Plush Queen Ensemble (average cost around $7000) on the 9/12/ 2013 from Myer Erina. Lost volumn and was sagging. After 6mths we had it repaired without question. In 2014 the mattress was loosing its shape and was very uncomfortable. When we approached Sleepmaker the second time they where very adamant that… Read more
the mattress passed all specifications.
They made it very difficult to speak to them. The staff were unavailable at times when I tried to ring.
I was loosing hope until I decided to approach Myer to see if they could help. When I provided them with the proof they stood by their policy of customer satisifaction and without hesitation supplied me with a different brand of Ensemble. This was finally resolved by August 2015
It always pays to buy expensive items from a reputable company.
Proof of purchase. 9th December 2013. Myer Erina. Invoice No. 100391590-4422 (Claim No. 36342/51137/54376)
Completely disappointed – We purchased a 'firm' Sleepmaker latex Surrey cushion mattress. It was fine for about a year and then it started sagging. After 2 years it is so saggy we can't sleep on it without hurting our backs. It is the worst (and most expensive) mattress we have ever purchased. Don't wast your money!
latex mattress – Purchased an energetix firm latex queen mattress 8 years ago. It has been back to manufacturer as it had dipped very badly where we sleep on it causing extreme back pain and broken sleep. The company accepted there was a problem and fitted a pillow top on it and told us that would fix the problem. Twelve months on and the dips are back worse than ever. Extremely disappointed with this product.
Worst bed manuafacturer – We first purchased a Sleepmaker natural Latex mattress, it delaminated, they replaced it, second latex did the same, they replaced it. Third mattress they gave us a Sleepmaker Renoir $6900 its a pillow top and now causing back ache. It has huge indentations where we lay and a huge mound in the middle. You cant roll over, or move its too… Read more
difficult. which is now causing back aches..We have even turned the king size mattress around so that the head of the mattress is at the side, this means the hump in the middle is now across the bed instead of head to toe. Sleepmaker have said , " its not your first warranty claim. " . the rep came out , pushed his hand on the bed and said its normal. We are just waiting for their written response and taking them to the small claims court. DONT BUY A SLEEPMAKER MATTRESS
Love this mattress and want to buy another one – I bought a Sleepmaker Latex Recharge Mattress, approx. 5 years ago. We put it on a futon slatted base. It is a sensational mattress. So comfortable and still as good as the day we bought it. I love latex and my husband feels the heat more than I and he loves it just as much. It was only about $1300 and I now want another one for our guest room. Show reply
Do not waste your money! – Worst product ever considering the price. Completely sagging on each side To the point where you roll off. Please look at other options before considering this product. It was comfortable while it lasted though

Great at the beginning – Our $5000+ latex sleepmaker is almost 7 years old and has been excellent. I slept perfectly through 3 pregnancies. Now it has 2 distinct dips and leaves me with a bad back every morning. I wake up early and can't stay in bed any longer. We spent the money expecting 20 good years and are disappointed.
What a rip off!!!!! – We bought the Sleepmaker Latex bed mattress for around $5000 thinking it was the best. Within 3 months we were seeing massage therapists and physiotherapists!! There was alot of sagging!!! We called Sleepmaker, -no response to our calls!!! The retailer had to call them so that they would listen. Finally, they agreed to repair it and after… Read more
6 weeks the sagging happened again. We called them again, they refuse to accept the faults.
Outcome - in less that 2 years we have just bought another mattress - Never again sleepmaker!!!!!!!!! Please save yourselves the agony!!!!
Terrible product - latex is z grade! Terrible service!!!!
Terrible – I would not recommend this mattress at all. Do not trust your feeling at the shop because that is not what the mattress will be after 2 weeks of use. This was the worst purchase in my life. We spend $3500 on a mattress believing that it would last us at least 10 year, but after a year we are in a process of buying a new mattress. This time I will… Read more
go for simple spring system without any latex, memory foam or any of that rubbish.
We purchased our Sleepmaker Cherish from Slypee's - top of the range, $3500 for king mattress. First two weeks it was perfect. I felt like sleeping on a cloud. After that it started sinking in the middle and there is no support. You feel like sleeping in a hole. We tried to rotate it and at first it was helping. Now, even that does not help. The mattress has collapsed in the middle and we wake up stiff with lower back pain. If you go for a warranty they say that any indent up to 3cm is normal. This bad does not have an indent but simply it does not give you the same support as it was at first. My husband resorted to 15 years old IKEA mattress in spear bedroom.

Terrible – DO NOT BUY THIS!!! The biggest waste of our money and has toally stuffed up my body with pain and discomfort. Nothing - Don't buy it! you. Sleeping on a slope and sinking means some mornings I can hardly move due to back pain. I have never had body aches and problems before I bought this bed! I'm so angry with this product! I now have to sleep on the cheap sofa bed because my body hurts too much fom it. I spent well over $2,000.00 for it! Most disappointed - am searching for a new bed - I did not get my 10 years worth!
Terrible – Everything the bed has been back to the factory 4 times in 15 months - 8 days off work and still having problems. An now going down the path with consumer affairs - A top of the range mattress and we sleep in the childrens beds.. EVERYTHING it's terrible...
Terrible – When we tried it in the shop it felt great, we chose it over a spring mattress because the spring mattress my partner wanted felt too soft for me. It was great for the first 2 weeks, then started to feel like it was getting harder. We first contacted the shop we bought it from within 3 months of buying it, who referred us to Sleepmakers head… Read more
office. The person I spoke to did her best to convince me that the body indents are normal up to 35mm, but our indents were closer to 40mm in places. We filled in the paperwork and waited more than 8 weeks for someone to come and look at the bed to make sure they considered it a fault, and then another 3-4 weeks for it to actually be collected for repair.
I'm really disappointed with the support from Sleepmaker through the whole process so far, I have had to constantly harass them for the last 3 months to get our bed repaired.
I'll never buy a Sleepmaker mattress again, it's just not worth it! It was great for the first few weeks It's like sleeping in a pothole. It's getting repaired today but after putting up with sleeping in massive indent for over 3 months I'm not optimistic.
Terrible – we are so disappointed with what was an exspensive purchase and also the response apparently there is nothing wrong with the mattress in their opinion it was very comfortable at first it was comfortable at first now we have aridge down center of bed and hollows each side
Terrible – Our king size matress was 2 big hollows with a ridge down the middle by 5 months, wrote to the company who after much nagging replaced it with newer model, months later same problem again, might as well be sitting up the hollows are getting so deep!! Sleep getting worse am calling the company again tomorrow and by the way the base slats that they… Read more
produced are spaced twice as far apart as recommended for the matress to sit on, what does that say?? We have a different brand Trilogy, but same as the rest, great for the first few weeks then trouble big hollows where your bottom is big ridge down the middle
Terrible – We bought the king size renew latex matress about 2 years ago and just like the reviews I have read it is true the mattress will start to sag within a short amount of time. I have filled out a form to sleepmaker explaining the problem and they were very unhelpful and insisted it was normal. It is the first time I have switched to latex and find it… Read more
disappointing as your body sweats too much, I normally feel the cold but this mattress is uncomfortably too hot all year round, it's like your body cannot breath and the mattress heats up during the night in the position that you sleep. The heat makes me wake up all the time where i have to roll to a cooler position on the mattress. Feels comfortable and soft at the store. Does not keep it's shape after a short period of time, the bed sags in areas where your body is the heaviest and get's worse with time. It is also too hot, the mattress heats up and you will find that you wake up moving to a cooler spot constantly during the night.
Terrible – We were sold this bed on the basis that it would be the most comfortable rejunetating slepp we could have, NOT TRUE. We have had the bed 60 days now and are yet to have a good nights sleep. Both my wife and I find it builds heat during the night and most nights I wake in a sweat and find my wife has shifted to the spare room to sleep on our old… Read more
bed. We ahve received no help from Sleepmaker other than a patronizing responce basicly saying that it was our decision to buy the bed and there os nothing they are able to do to help. We have bought the genuine dunlop cool comfort mattress protector and also a 100% cotton protector, both of which were over $100 each and although they have helped a bit they have not stopped the problem. I would never recommend this type of bed to anyone, it is currently winter and we are sleeping with the lightest quilt we can so we are cold on top and hot on the bottom. Terrible Product!!! Feels really soft and comfortable when you first lie on it. Good sales speel by tyhe company and the store It is too hot to sleep on!!! Absolutely no cmpany support what so ever!!!
Terrible – We purchased a different model - the Epic Latex Grande. What a load of hog wash, It was fantastic, soft comfortable and very supportive for the first 10 mths. then started developing hollows where we sleep and a ridge between us. Complained about this . Guy came out and said we need to sleep in the middle and it will be a lot better. Did that,… Read more
ridge reduced very slightly and hollows increased called him out again, said to expect some indentations but its all normal. Not happy left it for a while rang again and they sent out papers as they changed protocol for complaints and said they would charge if they came out unnecesarily.Took measurements and they came picked it up assesed it and then stuffed it with densified fibre. Now its near end of guarantee I have complained once again as it is now stiff and hollow with ridge down the middle I have also spoken to consumer affairs and they said they will have to provide repair, refund or exchange and to let them know you have contacted C affairs.. Did that and now coming on friday to re-assess it. will never buy a sleepmaker again $2300.00 worth of wasted money. Was great first 10 months Developed hollows where we sleep and a ridge down the middle. no support
Terrible – I purchased the Dunlopilo from David Jones and have been very disappointed - over $3000 and that was with a 40% discount. After reading the other reviews I now know why I wake up so hot. Also it is impossible to sleep on the right way up as it sags so much so I flipped it over and put a latex overlay on top which is much more comfortable. It still… Read more
sags but more like a gentle slope that the pot hole I was sleeping in. I wonder if Sleepmaker read these reviews as they are still making these beds.
Had the top layer rebuilt after a few weeks of purchase but now resigned to turning the mattress upside down and covering with an overlay - this has made a big difference but not what the manufacturer intended

Terrible – No support at all from the mattress which dips in the middle by 2cm even when we're not lying on it. When we are in bed it dips so much so that we've both ended up with bad backs and are about to give the $9,500 bed to our 5 year old daughter and buy ourselves a new one. We brought this from David Jones, who are aware of the problem with these… Read more
beds dipping. However they do not have power to make Sleepmaker fix the problem or return the beds. I can't stress how bad these beds are. Soft Dips so much that we've both had bad backs since purchasing it. Unbelievably hot.
Terrible – A bed is an investment. We spend many hours in bed and it is important to have the right one, since shops charge a fortune these days. When testing a latex bed, bear in mind that they do feel really comfortable at first. It feels like you are on a cloud. However, when you get it home and sleeping your first night, expect that you might wake up… Read more
feeling hot. Latex is a natural rubber, and it radiates heat throughout the mattress. It is an awful feeling indeed. Latex beds also tends to get a dip which makes it very uncomfortable. I got the dip repaired (despite the bedding company claiming nothing was wrong with the bed). I have since got rid of the bed, and would never ever get a latex bed again. Five years of bad sleeping. When testing latex beds in the stores, they feel like sleeping on clouds. You can't believe how comfortable they are. The comfort wanes, and dips will start to occur in the mattress. I had a King Koil latext core bed and it was too hot. Constantly sticking legs out the side to get relief from the hot mattress. The bed was sent for repairs as the dip got worse and I would wake with back pain. The entire 5 years I owned the bed, never had a good nights sleep. Not once. Latex beds (ie. with a latex block inside the mattress, not referring to a strip of latex in the pillow cushioning) are so over-rated. I realise this forum is to discuss Sleepmaker Latex, but I want people to know that the same issues apply with King Koil latex - too hot, gets dips in the mattress, and is severely overpriced.

Terrible – It would seem that the latex mattress is NOT FOR ME. However, note that hubby doesn't have the same issues. Feels like sleeping on a cloud when you try it out at the bedding store. Put a mattress protector on it and the softness went away. Retains heat which can be a problem if you are a hot sleeper anyway. See my overall opinion below. For… Read more
well over 18 months I have suffered from tiredness and aching limbs. I actually wake up sore! I've been to my doctor and being around 50 - she has tested my blood and all's OK, hence she believes the pain is all due to menopause. So, what's this got to do with a latex mattress? Wait, I'm getting there! Just this month, hub and I went on holiday for 10 days - a road trip where we ended up sleeping in different beds each night. I never once woke complaining of aches and tiredness. Curious, yet? Well, guess what? Since returning and sleeping on our latex bed (bought for megabucks from reputable bedding store - 18 months ago), I am back to aching limbs and waking up tired again. It seriously effects my day and what I can get done throughout the day.

Terrible – We bought the Sleepmaker Revitalise king size latex mattress. The first 3 months were excellent, then we noticed body impressions developing. A hump in the middle of the bed grew to the point where it was difficult to roll together, like rolling up a hill. Yes, we tried sleeping on the middle to try and reduce the hump, but the change was… Read more
negligable compared to the rate the impressions grew at. When the lower back and hip pain became a real issue after 6 months we called and complained and I was delighted by the service, they arrived, left a loan mattress and took ours away for repair. When it came back it was harder but bearable. Then the indents grew again and 4 months later we started the complaint process again. After some time and many threats they took away the mattress again after charging us to "sanitise" the mattress... It returned comfortable again, we were advised that the first rebuild was wrong and the insides were upside down, how can that be. So here we are, another 8 months in and I am unable to get out of bed in the morning, the lower back pain is unbearable. Last week I spent 3 days in a motel and while the old mattress was hard I had no issues with back pain, back to home and I cant get out of bed again....
The company have tried to console us but a $5,500 matress should not cause these problems. We have a cheap old Queen matress on a spare bed that is more comfy Initially very comfortable. Like sleeping on a cloud (at the risk of sounding like the other reviews) Very heavy, needs 2 people to rotate, deep body impressions in 4 months, became massively uncomfortable, Hot, difficult to find sheet with sides deep enough.
Terrible – I must say I,m not sure if this is a sleepyhead natural latex mattress but it was sold to me as the best mattress and nothing can go wrong as there are no springs in it. Firstly the base was noisy so they told me to take out the middle legs, then I got so hot it felt like my body was creating the mattress to heat up. There is a ridge down the… Read more
middle, and definite sloping where I sleep which makes me think I,m going to fall out of bed. Apart from that I have the sorest back I have ever had. I am on my 90 day right of return and have been back to tell them these things but they told me to persevere and I have the best mattress I can get. After reading all these reports I feel much better that it is not just me, but that other people also have these problems. I am going back tomorrow to ask for a replacement to the beautiful inner sprung mattress that I originally wanted. THANK YOU.

Bad – I dont know if im being too harsh on Sleepmaker as the bed itself sees to be made well( Sleepmaker posturecare queen medium), and seems to be of reasonable quality, but if you need to be cool when sleeping then this bed simply will not do, you may as well sleep on your couch. Basically they should make it quite clear that people who are sensitive… Read more
to heat when sleeping should not buy a bed with latex in it, although this was mainly a fault with the staff at Harvey Norman Penrith, but I think this point should be made clearer on their website. Feel comfortable for about 10 minutes until you warm up. Seems like good quality. Bed becomes too hot if you are sensitive to heat.
Every top end mattress has latex in it, therefore that should show you latex is the best sleeping surface to sleep on.
waste of money – 2 years down the track and the sleepmaker pillow top bed is a total disappointment. Within first 3 weeks 2.5 cm dips had formed - (the mattress was turned every two weeks & I am a small person), several calls for customer service were useless, each time we were told that these were within normal range. The heat generated by the latex mattress is… Read more
uncomfortable, the dips cause back ache & if I try to move closer to the middle to try to "flatten" the indentation I feel like I am rolling up hill
After flippant, argumentative & inappropriate comments about my age made by the young customer service "gentleman" I would never buy another Sleepmaker bed & I will never recommend the company.
very poor warranty service
Think very carefully before purchasing the Sleepmaker Cherish Latex Mattress and Base – If you are a "hot blooded" person this bed is not for you, especially if you are menopausal. The bed has significant body imprints and these appeared very soon after purchase, within 3 months. We were assured when we purchased the bed that this would not happen however we had to purchase the base as well as they would not guarantee the mattress if… Read more
we did not purchase the matching base. We were also advised to turn mattress regularly which we do however it is impossible to turn the mattress if you are on your own as it is too heavy. Within a week of purchase the base made squeaking sounds ALL the time, initially the reasons given by Sleepy's were just ridiculous and it wasn't until we got really cross that they replaced the base. Since we have had the replacement base there have been no squeaking issues. I really wish we had read these reviews before we made our purchase. We are very disappointed in this bed and it cost $3,200. The bed is comfortable however it looks like an old bed due to the body indents. The only reason we got rid of our old bed which we had had for 10 years was because of the body dents. To say that a depth 25mm-35mm for body indentations is acceptable for such an expensive product is infuriating.
Oh what a crock they use latex in the burns units burns patients cant get hot, also heat is… Read more (+3 replies)
