in the past and this is my first firm mattress purchase. Perhaps, this may be why my body is taking a little longer to adapt to it. I am pleased with the overall quality of the mattress material. The base is about 4cm shorter than the previous base which makes it easier for me to climb up onto the mattress. The castor wheels are hidden towards the inner side unlike traditional bases where you can see the wheels around the outer sides and four corners of the mattress. I am glad that I took the effort to drop into David Jones in late November-early December 2021 despite the Covid situation to finalise the purchase. The Sales Associate - Mary Anne was very helpful too. Now I am waiting to truly enjoy sleeping on the mattress for the years to come!

Should have invested sooner – My husband and I took some time to research and try out mattress options. We narrowed it down to 2 brands and decided on the Sleepmaker San Remo plush mattress. week and I have to say we are very happy with our decision at this stage. I prefer a very plush feel mattress and was worried it wouldn't feel soft enough, as this model seemed a bit firmer than others plus mattresses and it is on a bed frame, not ensemble. I have found it to feel soft enough and supportive and my husband is very happy that it doesn't feel too soft and seems to have great support. We had our previous independent coil mattress for a very (very) long time. We both thought it was still supportive enough. I used to have a stiff lower back every morning when I got out of bed and had put it down to age. From day one of sleeping on this mattress I have been able to move without pain when I get out of bed. We have some reservations about whether the pillow top will sag noticeably over time. I will try to remember to write a review once we have had the mattress for a while. For now we are extremely happy. (A tip: We both have an issue with the chemical smell of new products and a new mattress inevitably has a strong smell initially - we left the mattress on our bed with a fan blowing on it and windows open for the first 24hours before we slept on it. It made a huge difference and the smell was not noticeable after that.) Thank you to Sharyn and the other staff members at David Jones Hornsby who allowed us space, (on several occasions!) to make our decision.

Great mattress, very poor customer service from Sleepmaker – I bought the Ravello King firm mattress and bed base from David Jones, as i found it to be the most comfortable in the store. waking up with back pain that I did not know was caused by my previous mattress.

The bed base has drawers, which are also great! But the height of the mattress, on top of the bed base with legs attached, is so high that I actually have to hop up a bit to get into bed, and I'm not short at 5'7''. It would be shorter without the legs attached but my house has mould issues so I'd rather have the base off the floor. But still, even though the bed is ridiculously high, it is so comfortable I am happy. If i was to purchase again, I would purchase a bed base from a different company that is shorter. I don't understand why SleepMaker would design such a high bed base/mattress combination. A shorter person would need a step to get into the bed. I did not realise this when I tried the bed out at David Jones as the bases there do not have the legs attached.

The customer service at David Jones in store was fantastic. Delivery, and customer service by SleepMaker were terrible.

I was informed the bed would take up to 6 weeks to be constructed and delivered. I bought the bed 12th April. My brother also bought the same bed at the same time. His was delivered 8.5 weeks after purchase, so I appreciate that not all purchases have the problems that mine did. The delivery people called me 10.5 weeks after purchase saying they were going to deliver the bed but found that it was damaged, and that I should call David Jones, which I did. Eventually my bed was delivered 13 weeks after purchase. This is more than 3 months later! And the problems didn't end there. The bed was delivered without the legs. They said they would arrange delivery of the legs but I heard nothing. I called David Jones, they called SleepMaker. SleepMaker called and told me that I had to take a photo of the bed to prove that it had no legs before they would send them, even though they should have been able to check that with their delivery person. I didn't send the photo because I wasn't in Sydney at the time where the bed was (I had moved interstate for work), but I did speak to someone at David Jones about it. The bed legs arrived 4 weeks after the bed was delivered.

Since I've moved house I now need to buy a second bed. I really love how comfortable my SleepMaker mattress is but the fact that it took over 4 months for such an expensive bed to be completely delivered (with all the parts) after purchase has put me off buying another SleepMaker ever again.

Sleepmaker Luxury Firm Mattress – We purchased the luxury firm mattress which is really firm. I was told it would take two months to 'break it in' so in the mean time, I've purchased Minijumbuk Sleep Restful wool topper ($680) which makes it very comfortable. The mattress is quite high (35cm) so keep this in mind to ensure it is in proportion to your bed. As good as we expected! – Having purchased the firm option due to some hip discomfort, we hoped that this mattress would provide the extra support we needed. After 3 nights we have realized less stiffness and better sleep quality. It is beautifully made and certainly looks durable.
