Smeg KLF01PBA (Pastel Blue)

I bought a pastel blue kettle thinking as it was expensive it would surely last for a least a few years, the inside had rusted within months. I bought a second one thinking the first one was a one off defect. But the second one also rusted on the inside in less than 6 months. I won't be buying any more. They are way to expensive to last so short a time

Smeg Kettle. Don’t waste your money – Our Smeg kettle was not cheap. My kettle is blistering around the spout. It’s now about the sized a 20cent piece. Further smaller bubbles are evident as well. Customer service did not disappoint – My kettle died after about a year and a half of use. It stopped boiling the water. When contacted Customer Service, they were super prompt with resolving the issue by sending through a new kettle as it was still under warranty. emailed and Steve asked me for my address to send me a new one. I was hesitant as it all seemed too easy- but I did and the next week my brand new kettle was delivered, the new edition with the metal lettering rather than stickers.

I am amazed by smegs level of service, you are clearly paying for a lot more than a name!

Letters on the kettle are falling off – After over just a year using our Smeg kettle the letters are falling off, so far the letter “E” on one side and “G” on the other. Disappointed – I've purchased the kettle, toaster and mixer and already the lettering on my kettle has starter to come off. For the money I paid for these items I would have expected more. Not even 3 years old and broken – Given the kettle as a wedding gift with the matching toaster and now the light around the switch will not come and therefore will not boil. Leaking and no response from SMEG – Purchased 18 months ago. Just started leaking from the water gauge. For $169 you would hope for better than this. Worse, SMEG have not responded to any emails requesting help (now sent a week ago). Water doesn't boil – I purchased my kettle 14 months ago to put in my new house in the new coffee station I built, pictures attached. Then just the other week my kettle was boiling but the water was only just above warm and not as hot as it should be.

Obviously the heating element has gone, just really disappointed in the SMEG brand and the money also that I purchased for this kettle.

Now I will need to go to Kmart and buy a cheap $15 one which will probably last way lot longer then my SMEG., hopefully Kmart will have a matching toatser.

Once again really disappointed in your brand.

Very poor quality! – The kettle is very beautiful at the start but after two years of use, the blue has turned yellow and a couple of the letters have fallen off! about DISAPPOINTED!!!. For the price this should never happen. Unfortunately I didn't use the kettle right away upon purchasing and therefore am unable to return it.

Looks pretty, bad quality – I am in love with this range but seriously Smeg? Considering the price and brand I’d expect better quality. So annoyed!! – Really disappointed purchased both kettle and toaster in Sept 16, both where replaced under warranty now the replacement kettle just stopped boiling!! And now out of warranty!! Very dissapointed at the quality – Love the look of the Smeg appliances, I brought the Smeg Kettle & large Smeg toaster. Been really happy with them & they get great compliments from visitors. Blue Kettle to return – I just purchased a Smeg kettle I have not used it. I love the shape and the color but after reading all the reviews I am packing it back and returning it. the kettle (which isn’t overfilled) it leaks into the metal base below where it is heated, this caused my electrics to short on Monday which required an electrician. I have looked on SMEG reviews to see if anyone else has experienced these issues, as despite my experience want to purchase another one to match up with my toaster, unfortunately my disappointment with the kettle has put me off.

Not worth the premium price. Poor craftsmanship – Bought a complete smeg kitchen appliance pack. Had to replace the bench mixer after one month and now the letters are peeling off the kettle. Letters falling off – I purchased this Smeg kettle and matching toaster from Domayne only to my disappointment the letters on my kettle have started falling off. Not very impressed for such an expensive product. Now it looks tacky. I'd noticed It started to happen only a few months after purchasing but I could still push them back into place. It says smeg but doesn't poke out like on all the other products they have.

Pros

Its pretty quiet compared to our older Russell Hobbs.

Boils quicker then other kettles we have had in the past.

Looks as pretty as all the smeg kitchen appliances.

Cons

The spout is small therefore the water pours out a lot slower but this can also be a Pro point as is is very accurate.

No whistle(lol),

constantly complains as his fingers are much larger and cannot get lid open to fill. Now wondering if there will come a time when unable to fill. Not a heavy use family as only the two of us who work full time. Husband suggested I take back to store again but too embarrassed as you don't expect to have to return a quality item twice in such a short time. On positive note have not had a problem with toaster but extremely disappointed with Smeg kettle and would hesitate purchasing from their range in the future.

Not worth the money – I bought this kettle thinking it was sturdy and well made and would last for years. A few months after the guarantee ran out it burnt out melting the plug in the process. Sticking lid – I have owned this kettle for two weeks now and the lid started sticking after 2 days, which I can see from other reviews seems to be a common problem. The kettle was advertised as silent which it is not although not as noisy as others. I am also disappointed that I bought the matching toaster and it seems to be a different blue to the kettle. nails in order to lift the lid so I can fill it with water. Also I started noticing limescale around the opening and around the measuring gage. I finally had to stop using my kettle because it started leaking from the bottom of the gage. Really disappointed in smeg which is normally known for quality.
