Surprised by the negative reviews. Mine last about 15 years. I wish I could buy another. This machine had real buttons, and lots of options for use. And it looked great. I dont like the new look buttons on the replacement Smeg model...
So very disappointed! – first bought a smeg microwave in 2015. this stopped working in 2017, and a new one was supplied. Now this one has stopped heating. Back to using my very old Panasonic, which still works perfectly, but which does not fit in the hole left by the smeg. What can I do? Show details

Great appliance-one problem – My SA37X was installed along with 2 Smeg ovens when I had a kitchen makeover in April 2017. I love the look and I have treated them all with TLC. not cheap but totally worth it – I am so satisfied with the microwave. I was caught in by the brand at first and hesitated if it was worthwhile paying more $ for the brand. However, it works so well and definitely worth the $ I spent on. it has easy instructions, heats up fast and at a appropriate temperature. Especially its unfrozen function, the heat control works so well that it unfreeze the meat and the meat is still raw. Show details
nice – Works very well and fits perfectly into our kitchen. It's very stylish too as you'd expect from Smeg. It's probably a bit too expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. The materials feel nice and solid and not like cheaper plasticky microwaves. I would recommend this microwave. Show details

Poor reliability: AVOID – Purchased Smeg microwave as premium product, expecting high quality from the brand. After a few years the machine has suddenly just stopped working, with the circuitry seemingly failing and the only thing working is the light inside! Meanwhile other cheaper brands I bought around the same time for use in the office keep working with no problems. Avoid!

Not a reliable microwave SA37X – We have no choice, since this SA37X microwave was built in to our new home.It is worse than the cheaper brand we used before, we are only use it for reheating foods, but it never heat foods evenly ,now it is stopped heating anymore, but it still spin, lights and clock still on. Very Poor – On at least four occasions the cooking tray has jumped off the coupler causing the microwave to cook on one side only. The roller guide is very poor and doesn't appear to fit well at all. terrifying arcing and smoking. At least it is still covered by the extended warranty I bought, but still doesn't get it working in time for Christmas - such a pain. When the first one failed I had thought it was an unlucky manufacturing fault, I love the microwave aesthetic, features and operations, and so I bought a second one without checking online for reviews. It was out of warranty, so I ordered one overnight and received it the next day. Totally expected better from Smeg....Lesson learnt and will always double check reviews from now on..The quality issue seems to be coming from the same issue for everyone, you'd think they would have resolved it by now!!! It has really surprised me. Be warned, do not buy!!

A Happy Customer – Look the microwave is not perfect, but I really rate SMEG appliances as they stand by their products. When my microwave stopped heating a week ago I thought I had wasted my money on a microwave that lasted less than 3 years. Thought it would last longer than this? – This microwave is not even 3 years old and has already decided not to heat even though power is on and display still working. My previous cheaper brands have lasted way longer than this! The warranty has just expired and the cost to fix is way more than buying a brand new one! Excellent product – I purchased this Smeg microwave earlier this year when we renovated our kitchen. It is perfect for our families needs. The functions are easy to use. We had to re-purchase another Smeg SA37X as our kitchen is built to only fit this model microwave. . Since then we have purchased another two Microwaves, this time I made sure I had the extended warranty 2+3 years which has been used twice in that period and today the third microwave has just packed up NOT HAPPY SMEG.
Just on 2 years old and short fused – We started to have heating issues last few days then tonight when I was re- heating my sons dinner it short circuited and completely switched off. Noisy and craps itself – Purchased this microwave in Mid/late 2014. Looks great and is a great size inside.... but, it's noisy and doesn't heat food well at all. Heating up leftovers (which would normally take no more than 2 minutes, could take up t 5 minutes and then some. This was noticeable from day 1. But it has been getting progressively worse. Disappointed – Bought a new smeg wall oven and matching microwave on reputation as being a quality product. Only 4 years old the motherboard in the oven went, had a new one installed not a cheap option. Two burnt out in 15 months – Our first one burnt out within a couple days of use. The replacement burnt out 15 month later. We were told to send it for repairs at our expense 20 km away. What an inconvenience! This model is clearly a faulty one. My previous NEC microwave is over 22 years and still going strong after giving it to mum. Smeg should be recalling these faulty microwaves. I thought this microwave will last us atleast 10 years or more as it is only my husband n myself are using it, and we only use it every now n then as mostly we cook in the stove. problem with my microwave can be sorted. However I was pleasantly surprised when Steve Cullen from SMEG replied to my email on the same day and helped to organise a technician to fix my microwave within a few days, the technician was not able to fix the microwave on the first visit due to extra parts that was required. Again Steve helped to organise a second visit within a few days. Outstanding after sales service by SMEG especially Steve Cullen, any product at some stage will develop issue but it is how the company respond when an issue arise showed how good the brand is.
VERY Poor service life – Very similar experience to the negative reviews posted already on this appliance. Only thing more demoralising is to admit that I've gone back three times in order to keep the aesthetic look of the kitchen install. Each microwave has stopped heating after approximately 12-18 months and when seeking repair it is cheaper to replace the item outright. Such poor quality - very disappointing Show details

flimsiest microwave I had ever seen or used, had the dial indicators wear off in less than 6mths.
2)Then the oven in less than 12 months, lost the digital light so that the time is difficult to read.
3)In just over 12 months I noticed that the oven was cooking MORE unevenly than my very old Westinghouse that I had determine never to buy again because of its uneven cooking.
4)Now, less than 2 mths out of a 2 year warranty the microwave has completely died!!!
I am appalled and sooo disappointed!!!
I was so excited to get SMEG products in my new kitchen and I paid a lot more than I needed to, just to have SMEG!!!
I am sooo upset!!
I know you cant immediately change your products, but for me I feel totally ripped off and conned by false advertising!
At least make a microwave that you can still read the indicators on the dials for the length of its very short life!!!!
