Smoke Alarm Solutions
Received SMS from this number claiming to be from my Realestate Agent when it wasn't - claims to demand entry at a time and date and then requires me to reply with a response to confirm that an adult will be home at that time!
Spoke to QLD Residential Tenancy Authority who confirmed that ALL notices MUST come only on approved RTA forms and from the Agent only and must be signed by the Agent and show proof of 3rd party agency for entry - told if this is not provided that I would not be protected by law if I responded or let them in without the compliant notices.
It is also a breach of the Commonwealth Privacy Act
Smoke alarm installed in a unit I rent which stayed up for a few months and then fell down as adhesive was used to affix it on a cement wall. Smoke Alarm Solutions come out again to fix it and it didnt stay up a day. Avoid them!
Asked for a quote and then billed for $130 yearly maintenance???!?
Did not even request for the maintenance!!
That is a scam!

Go off without any smoke. Luckily were home but didn't help as none of them actually turn off when you press the button. Had neighbours looking to see what was happening. Scared our cats. And had to get a stool at top of stairwell to rip off the roof had all 4 down off roof and not a single one would stop the alarm going off. Joke our real estate used these people.

Received a form 9 for them to inspect smoke alarm. Nowhere on form does it say im required to attend ! They turn up and cant access unit . I try and try to reshedule but get no answer. Going to let this slide as ive got better things to do than waste my time doing the real estates job.

SAS have been servicing my alarms for 3 years and this particular property. The other day the same technician who always turns up came out and said he wanted to look in the garage. I opened it and then he looked in it and left. I rang SAS to ask where my compliance was as I was renting the property out and the real estate agent wanted it. It was not forthcoming for three week and then it was emailed saying the property was not compliant. I rang them straight away and they said the garage has to have an alarm in for another $300 odd. I ran...g the Fire Department and they said as the garage was completely separate from the house there was no need for an alarm. There are no stairs from the garage to the house inside. Not good enough for SAS they have to send a supervisor out to look at the situation. That was a week ago, this has been going on for 3 weeks now. Cant believe the ineptitude of this company, will be changing to another company when my subscription runs out.
Incompetent call centre staff
I rent a property that is required to have the smoke alarm serviced during working hours. Before COVID they would pick up the keys from my Real estate agent but now they require an adult to be present. An appointment was made for my address between 8.30am and 12.30pm on Feb 19 2021. When contacting them on Feb11 2021 to say I could not be home at this time I was told I had to reschedule another time during business hours, they could do a 1 hour window between 4pm and 5pm ( I work during business hours & do not drive), I said I would need to cal...l back after talking to my boss but the person at the other end of the phone seemed reluctant to let me go and said they would contact me the next day to make sure I had rescheduled. As luck would have it (or not) my boss said I could start early on Feb 18 (this would have normally been payed overtime) in order to leave early on Feb19 so I rang back to reschedule within half an hour of speaking to the original staff member, spoke to someone different who said she would see if they could do 4pm -5pm on Feb18th then put me on hold then after said she was not sure about the 18th, I said it was the 19th not the 18th, her reply was: Its already booked for the 19th, I said it's booked for 8.30am-12.30pm on that day, it needs to be changed to 4pm-5pm, she says that's Okay they're in your area that day, so from that I assumed that the new time was in place as I was not contacted on the 12th to confirm another booking. I left work as arranged and waited till 4.58pm then called Smoke Alarm Solutions to find out if they were close by and was informed that my original booking was cancelled, there was no record of my conversation with the 2nd person on that day and they could only apologise! ( this 3rd person had to be told my unit & street number 3 times before they got it right) . So my next appointment I will get home when its convenient for me and they will have to wait! I am seething! Not impressed!
Crap alarms. Constantly waking us up!
We have had problems with these crappy alarms going off at random hours of the day and night. Sometimes they go off for 5 seconds at like 2am and other times for hours while we are at work. My neighbour now has a key to our house just so he can go in and stop them it happens that often!
We have had multiple people come out to check them and each time they tell us that nothing is wrong!
Do not bother with these crappy alarms they will do your head in.

text me at 5.59am to service the rental property in a week! how is that acceptable to text anyone at this time in the morning! I was woken up and shouldn't have to turn my phone off - its on for emergencies ONLY!! HOW DARE YOU!! they do this because we are tenants and treat us like second class scum! they dont ask a time or date they demand it. I am disgusted dealing with this company thru the agent for 5 years and today was the last straw! I am now blocking their number and they can contact me via email from now on! If i had the managers numbe...r i would call him/her at that time in the morning and wake them up see how they like it! its illegal to conduct business outside business hours! NO RESPECT at all!! Plus they give you an 8 hour window that you HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEM TO TURN UP!! OR THEY DEMAND THEY GO THRU YOUR PLACE IF YOU ARE NOT HOME!
Great efficient experience
The booking service and attitude of the girl who answered the phone was excellent and the technician was on time and very efficient with the work. Great value too. Would highly recommend this organisation.
Ican’t give a review of this company, because of what I read and customers have experienced with them , I won’t use them

Received a SMS from 0416 907 462 Smoke alarm solutions this morning at 9.04am.
Stating entry 06/11/2020.
I replied with "no access on the 6th. Only available PM on the 5th.
I then rang them and explained that I am not here on the 6th but will be here on the 5th later in the day.
Since I seemed to be getting no-where; so I requested a "Digital National Police Certificate" for the person entering my residence.
I the stated that until I receive a copy of said certificate that no person is to cross the property fence line.

Have no idea why Real Estate agencies still use this company
Have had multiple bad experiences with this company from entering my property without consent to making me wait for seven hours for a technician to arrive. Even after explaining i have to be home for them to have access due to anxious dogs, they still give a time frame bracket of 7 hours! The communication from the head office to the technicians is absolutely dismal.
If I could rate them 0, I would.
Smoke Alarm Solutions came to the property I rent today. Smoke Alarms are designed to protect bedrooms from smoke sources (the kitchen generally), and are place accordingly outside of these rooms.
Smoke Alarm Solutions placed one smoke alarm outside of two bedrooms and left two bedrooms unprotected. When questioned, the technician called me names and told me he wasn’t paid to answer my questions and that he was leaving.
Worst. Experience. Ever.
Rudest call centre staff at 1300 853 602
Called 1300 853 602 to get a rough estimate of a time we could expect the technician at our property organised by the real estate, the entry notice said between 8:30 am - 5 pm. Unfortunately, the staff member on the other end of the line instantly took to a bad attitude saying that they weren't going to give a time and that it didn't matter if we were home or not that they would enter the property regardless as they have keys and are allowed to do so. I think that they forgot that renters also have rights and that if someone is going to be in o...ur property that we have every right to be home with them. Just because some people trust anybody in their home doesn't mean that we have to. She had absolutely no phone manners and her attitude brings a drop to the companies credibility. If they can employ such rude, sarcastic people to answer their phones then they mustn't care about the job they are doing or potential customers in the future. Personally I'd give them "0" stars if I could and based on previous reviews I think I'm not the only one with this opinion and they really should lift their call centre game. Technicians are probably great, but the mark is totally missed on their phone operators.
Zero stars - not recommended
I paid for a service which sounded good but they failed to live up to their marketing. Replaced the batteries myself when all our smoke alarms started beeping every minute. NOT RECOMMENDED
Very abrupt staff
I found the customer service officer rude and abrupt. Kept cutting me off mid sentence on the phone when I was trying to explain why I needed to reschedule. No flow to the conversation, disjointed and directed by me. Di should not be in customer service!
Rip off company
I am in Queensland, have a duplex managed by a real estate company. Got 2 bills of $99 each for smoke alarm solutions to check the alarms yearly, they said it was a government law so I researched it and it isn't, the law is that tenants have to check their smoke alarms yearly and replace battery if necessary. The smoke alarm laws are going to change as from the 1st January 2022 interconnected smoke alarms will have to be installed in the passage leading to bedrooms and in all bedrooms which means the existing smoke alarm will have to be replace...d with a model which can be connected to the others. 2 possibilities: wireless with a 10 year sealed battery or with electrical wire which would have to be installed by an electrician, wireless is the best way as all is required is to screw the alarms in the ceiling. Just for interest I filled in Smoke Alarm Solutions instant quote on their website, it came up with an initial quote of $805 for 3 bedrooms, there was more to enter but I didn't keep going. I can buy from Bunnings Quell battery operated smoke alarms for $45, checked with Bunnings they are government law compliant, and have a 10 year warranty, so no need to change the battery and they have an insect screen which is very good, sometimes an insect gets in the alarm and sets it off when there isn't any smoke. All is needed is a handy man with a drill and screw driver to install them. There are rules as where they should be installed in the ceiling: Smoke alarms must not be placed: within 300mm of a corner of a ceiling and a wall within 300mm of a light fitting within 400mm of an air-conditioning vent within 400mm of the blades of a ceiling fan. So it should be pretty straight forward.

My contact with this company was through a trustees arrangement. The standard was so poor that l refused to let them back in the house the following year & requested experienced quality tradespeople only which l now receive.
I used the website to book a service for a duplex & paid for it in advance. 3 units installed by Smoke Alarm Solutions had to replaced - 1 because it was noncompliant with a distance from a light & 2 under warranty. That was in October 2019 and I am still in dispute with them about payments in February 2020 despite assurances that things were sorted in December 2019.
