If I could rate it less than one star I would
Been booked in on four different occasions to get my smoke alarms serviced. On all four occasions they are yet to turn up. Cancelled twice and simply not shown up the other two times. I moved into my new house over two months ago and am still waiting for them to be done. If my house burns down, I wonder who is liable for the smoke alarms?? Smoke Alarms Australia is an absolute joke.
Calls/texts on the premise that your agent asked them to contact you.....had agents name, company and my number somehow. My agent knew nothing about it. Absolute scam. If this mob contact you, please Speak to your agent first before unwittingly letting these people into your house.
Poor service, terrible company
A smoke alarm test was organised with Smoke Alarms Australia by my real estate agent. Securing a date for them to arrive was a hassle since they always send requests by SMS at the very end of a day for a meeting for the following day or the day after that. After responding, I didn't hear back from them for more than a month. Then they cancelled and failed to show up for two appointments. When they did finally arrive they only partially replaced the alarm and did not return to complete the process until a month later.
This company has terrible communication with its customers and is completely unreliable in doing what it's supposed to do.

Then turned up un announced and replaced 0ne battery out of 4
Now only 1 week after are calling me again to make an appointment loke they have never been to my house.
For god sake i have tue battery and photos of the mess the worker left on my floor.
Bloody hopelessness at its best
I am a tenant and have only one smoke alarm in my house. It has not been working for 4 months now. Agent finally contacted smoke alarms australia to set up an appointment. Was first contacted by them 3 weeks ago and after 5 phone calls still have not managed to set up a time to have the alarm replaced. I have given them a number of days that I am available but always get told their technician is not in my area and they will need to call me back. Useless company.
Left message and call back request twice, no respond
After long wait I left a call back request, but none was received after a few days. Then I left a message for call back, none also was forthcoming. Finally I have to wait on the line until I get someone on the other end. There is no point trigger the call back and leaving message options as no one will respond... Just have to wait on hand free until someone pick up the phone on the other end. Indian service/
Incompetent, rude and misinformative
For two years in a row, this company has proven their incompetence. Last year, they called me asking to get in to my apartment to check the alarms. I had no idea who they were, my realtor never told me about them and they're asking to access my apt during the week when I'm not home? Pfft. I told them I'd confirm with the realtor and get back to them. I confirmed and called them back, then advised that as a tennant with rent to pay, I clearly have to work to make that money. As such, M-F 8-6 is out of the question - they can come on a week...end. The Filipinas on the phone always say 'OK, I'll look in to what's available and call you back'. It's never the same lady to call back, always a different one with the same spiel because no notes were left. After weeks of this harrassment, I asked for a supervisor who confirmed that not only were no notes ever left from any call, but that someone had actually marked my unfenced apartment complex as 'Unable to open locked gate' on my profile..?! Only after the supervisor was involved did I get a Saturday consult. This year was worse! They sent an SMS first to tell me they were going to call - kinda like sending someone a facebook message to say I'm going to email you about an upcoming phone call. Then they called and we went though the same dance. They were calling while I was in Denmark (ie during the night while I slept), never leave voicemails (I only knew it was them because of all the complaints on Reverse Australia), I call back and am on hold with roaming charges for an age. Supervisor never came to the phone when I wanted to complain about women on the phone not listening to me, etc, etc. I actually called my realtor to explain the situation - she emailed SAA detailing that I was abroad and when I return to Australia am only available on Saturdays and requested the first Saturday after my return. As my realtor is paying them on behalf of my landlady, you'd expect that they'd at least respond. They didn't. I came back to Australia, available to take the calls, suddenly they stop! They also continued to ignore the emails sent from my realtor. When the requested Saturday passed, I tried calling them again on a day where I had nothing to do, so could wait and wait on hold. I got a supervisor who confirmed Saturday is totally possible. Once I got this supervisor, things started going well - it was organised smoothly, the guy came on Saturday morning and was friendly and quick, no problems. But, the entirety of their call centre staff are completely inept. Don't even bother training them - fire them. They harass and bully and it's just not worth it. I know it'll happen again next year, because my realtor probably has no intention of telling my landlady, so nothing will change, but if you're going to pay for this service - GO TO A COMPETITOR! They'll be less work, it'll reflect better on you and you're less likely to lose a tennant over them.
Do not use this company. Service person arrived, changed smoke alarm batteries - said they may beep for up to an hour and left a 1300 number to call if they kept beeping. After 2 hours they were still beeping - called the 1300 line a number of times - was left on hold for 15 mins and then finally cut off. Have changed smoke alarms myself and never had this beeping issue. Called my own electrician and he said to check that batteries had been installed properly - sure enough, they had been installed incorrectly with polarities swapped around.

Totally agree with the other reviews about the incessant calling to try arrange appointments to check smoke alarms.
No one ever answers their 1800 number and I have left multiple messages that never get returned. They then complain to your real estate agent stating you as the tenant never reply to their calls attempting to arrange an inspection time. Told the boss I'd be late to work as the technician was supposed to come at 7.30. At 8.30 I called the company and when they finally answered the phone they put me on hold while they tried to get in touch with the technician. He didn't answer his mobile so now what? They can come come to do their check at a time suitable for me. If they don't like it tough.
Worst company to deal with!
As a tenant, this company is IMPOSSIBLE to deal with. Firstly they spam me via calls and text messages to setup appointments (via the agent too!), then don't show up! I called to reschedule, and then they come on the wrong day (when I'm at work). I reset the appointment for the following week at 8am. They called 2 days later asking to change it to 8.25am.
Just got a text message @ 6.30pm the day before wanting to move it to 8.35?? Just come here when it's been agreed. That's what your company is supposed to do. Such an annoyance for someone who works full time.
They create unnecessary jobs just to be paid
This has to be the most annoying company! They insist my smoke alarms need to move a few centimetres which they do not! You can hear them perfectly from every room in the house. They insist that my rental agency is insisting on the third check within one year, however, my property agency insists that it is smoke alarms Australia insisting they need to view the property. They are not flexible with viewing times. I think they just create jobs so the landlord pays... I really do not like this FIRM!
Really a 0 very disreputable company
I am a tenant and they arranged a time to check the smoke alarms via text and that went ok except that there was work to do on the smoke alarms that would require another appointment. We had no contact from them until over a month later I got an email from the real estate saying they were trying to contact me and I wasn’t answering. I called them the same day but the person I needed wasn’t available so I was directed to leave a message on an answer phone which I did. Still no contact but that same day they contacted the real estate again and is...sued me an entry notice. I rung again when I received the entry notice and asked when did they ring - it was only ONCE a week prior to telling the real estate they needed the entry notice. The staff found it funny and laughed repeatedly when I told them I was not happy with the lies they had told - ie that I never responded to the calls. Very unprofessional business and I would not advise letting them in your home if you aren’t there to supervise as lying is second nature it seems.
Actually worth a 0 star rating
I am a tenant who was contacted by this company to check the smoke alarms in my house - all via text message. They made the initial contact, then they gave me a very specific time of 1.10pm and confirmed it. The request was made with only 24 hours notice however I was able to accommodate it through my daughter changing her schedule. The time came and went - I tried contacting the 2 phone numbers I had and no response. I have reported then to the rental agent because this company did this to me last year as well. When I finally received a call ...back from some sweet young lady at Smoke Alarms Australia I was told that the person servicing didn't get the text message until this morning - problem is that I screen shot the variety of messages and sent it to them clearly showing that they confirmed the time with me yesterday. So they lied as well. If you have a choice - avoid them - poor service, systems and lied. None of the qualities which I value - so in the house I own and rent out - they WILL NEVER EVER be my service provider.
