Smoothskin Bare Questions & Answers
Hi, I've been using it for 4 mths, especially around chin but have no results yet.
Is it a matter of persisting? Will it work better if I zap every day?
I've been using it for 9 months with no results whatsoever. total waste of money. I spent $400 NZ dollars on this rubbish
Mine just won't zap on my chin and upper lip. It zaps everywhere else. Please help me and tell me why and what I should do
i'm 16 i have fair hair and tanned skin, but my bikini line is dark and course every time i shave or wax i end up with red bumps that don't go away i always cleanse and let nothing irritate area will laser treatment help?
You need to shave before using the unit so you might get red bumps from that, but because the hair removal with IPL is permanent you won't get any irritation and bumps as you progress with the treatments because the hair is totally gone and can't be trapped and become infected. You won't see any black dots of hair at the surface of the skin either, just lovely smooth skin! I found the treatments to be painless
start shaving and then get no results, thats what i did and i regret it BIG time. been using it for 9 months and NO results. go to a proper salon for the REAL thing
Which areas on the body should i not use it?
You can pretty much use it on any area but I wouldn't use it close to the eyes. You also make need to make sure that you don't use it on tattoos.
How long after shaving should I wait to use the device? As in shave, then wait 24 hours and then use it? Or I can I use it straight after after shaving? Thanks
According to the instructions you can use it straight away :) I sometimes wait until the next morning.
Can you use it every day?
No Doris. You can't. You won't need to. It is not like a razor. You shave, then you use the device. At first, every 2 weeks,(or whatever the directions say) then monthly or so and then very gradually, if you are lucky, perhaps never again, or 6 months or even yearly. Slowly the hair MAY stop growing back so thickly and so quickly. There are no guarantees. It depends on your hormones, the colour of the skin and hair etc. It seems to me from the question you have asked that you might not really understand how IPL works. If you have not already done so, I would suggest you google IPL and find out how it works and if it could be for you. If you have access to a beauty salon that runs IPL specials, you might consider having 3 or so treatments with them to see how well it works, and if you can tolerate it, before you buy your own. I would suggest that if you do this, you may consider getting it done on an area that is hard for you to reach (say the back of the thighs for example). I had 3 or 4 sessions done on my lower legs at a beauty salon about 3 years ago and have zero regrowth. For me this was a win. For you - who knows.
Will it work for men?
Theoretically it should - as long as you meet the guidelines of paler skin and darker hair that is standard for all IPL. After all hair is just hair. It may well take longer, or need to be set higher or something (I guess you would have guidelines with the product), but I have seen photos of amazing outcomes for men's backs, for example, from salons, so I don't see why your being a male should make a difference. Just bear in mind that if you do the beard area (for example) you may never be able to regrow a beard, or it may come back patchy (which I assume is why all the companies say it is not for men's faces and necks as they don't want to be sued when someone changes their mind and wants hair on the face again if the fashions change).
Smoothskin have released an IPL specifically for men.
it doesnt work for anyone, why would it work for men?
Is that safe for Brazilian area or not?
