had the right technical credentials and good track record. The installation process occurred when they said it would and Luke was brilliant. Really felt he knew what he was doing and he certainly was a registered electrician. He took the time to take me through what he was doing and explain the battery and how it was working along with my solar. reasonable price point. In short, the 14kWh AlphaESS setup hit the sweet spot for my needs.
Notwithstanding the above, there were 2 minor oversights that had to be corrected after getting the quote. However, to be fair, SBG did absorb most of the additional costs associated with the extra hardware that was overlooked on the quote.
The system has been up and running for 4 months. So far, there have been no issues - it works just like a new one.
Yes, I would recommend SBG.
I can highly recommend the service provided by The Solar Battery Group who did a great job installing the AlphaESS 15kw battery which has been storing power from the solar panels and importing power as required to meet the home power load. Show details

include a battery backup system which has now been tried twice while Western Power ‘blacked’ us for 2 separate days whilst replacing poles in our area. 1x power and 1x light circuit flawlessly kicked in so lights & internet & telly, music were still available. The only issue is that it seems that the power inverter is powered only from the grid so no battery charging occurred during the blackout. (I still need to make enquiries in regard to this issue) Very competent and friendly technicians made a the removal of the old batteries & installation seem easy. Most helpful to answer the many questions I had for them. The only hiccup was the fact that the toggle need to connect the system to the internet was not presently available so there was a delay whilst waiting for the component to arrive. On the topic of support, I did try and contact Solar Group on a few occasions to find out when I could expect the component to arrive and found that I always seemed to get a ‘busy’ notification. To their credit though, I always received a call back to answer my enquiries. Performance?? Installed at the end of Summer (no clouds in sight) so batteries quickly charged to 100 % with self-sufficiency in the very high 90’s … Now June and Winter is setting in. Batteries with a break in the weather are presently getting up to the mid 30’s and back to the 20’s in the morning. Presently. depending mostly from the grid. Not until the system runs for a year or so can I fully assess the benefits over whole seasons of weather. We will see?? but overall the system seems robust and user friendly. I hope this helps. reasonable cost . Installers were friendly , professional and knowledgeable. Answered my questions willingly and left the area clean and tidy . The 20kwh stack looks smicko . Our power bill is now generally less than the std connection charge and we charge our car 100% from the system , mostly during daylight but house batteries let us charge overnight if needed ( trickle charging ). Only issue has been not being informed of the bottom 20% not being available fir battery discharge. Though this can be adjusted if requested I believe

my car in the garage and close my garage door! Support personnel do not answer phone calls or reply to emails. I have now contacted consumer affairs to assist with managing this problem 1 month after installation!
Follow-up · After a formal letter of complaint with a 7-day timeframe for fixing the problem and a follow up reminder email, I was contacted by a resolutions leader, 30 minutes before the end of the timeframe. The battery was relocated to a mutually agreed place 2 days later and works well.
Solar battery upgrade – Solar Battery Group contacted me with a Battery offer to increase my current capacity. I received excellent advice from the Group and time to check all my own facts before I committed to the purchase. The installation was promptly arranged and the additional Eveready is in place. Follow-up · Big Change. Eveready system failed completely with no warranty and very little compensation. In February 2026 we have installed Ambrion Battery System (40kWh) with Risen n-type TOPCON 440W Panels . The with system seems to be okay. The service from Solar Battery group has been really good as far as the installation and the follow up adjustments. The new system has been tested as we have just gone through winter's cloudy weather.

Absolutely appalling after-sales service. We paid $11,928 out of pocket for an AlphaESS battery installation under Order #248452, which included a FIVE YEAR monitoring and maintenance plan. requesting that they reply and provide important documentation relating to THEIR installation, including the Western Power/DER approval, approved export limits, commissioning/export-control settings and Electrical Safety Certificate. Eight days later, I have received no substantive reply to my emails and none of the requested documentation has been provided. Attempts to obtain assistance by phone have also gotten me nowhere.
For a company that was happy to take nearly $12,000 from us, this level of communication and after-sales support is disgraceful. I should not have to repeatedly chase a company simply to get a reply to my emails and obtain important technical and approval documentation for equipment they supplied and installed.
I am now having to consider escalating the matter to Consumer Protection WA simply to obtain answers and have the installation properly addressed.
Based on my experience with their after-sales support, I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. Taking nearly $12,000 in payment appears to have been considerably easier than getting them to reply afterwards.

On the 2 September I installed a further 2 batteries to my system giving an overall 25kwh system. This was done by the Solarbatterygroup I have no complaints on the first installation. was 98cm between the top of the old system and the eaves The 2 new batteries were about 60cm high. When he installed the new batts against the wall. He told me he didn't realise there was no cover to the batts. All the wiring is now exposed. Further the top batt is not aligned with the bottom batt. Over the past week I have sent 4 emails explaining this. Talking to the staff, and adding 4 photographs to emails. I was charged $1102 for installation, plus a further {4 Pole Enclosure $175.00}. I have no idea what a 4 pole enclosure is?? Nothing has been done.

them ( I had nothing else to do, so this included picking up small plastic bags etc and putting them into the boxes that originally contained the the inverter and batteries). Did have an issue with the final price which I got sorted out, ie: did not need a bollard for $100, did not need two concrete slabs (2*$100). Near the end the installers were unsure if the GRID and SOLAR monitors were connected correctly, watched as they visually checked the connectors.
They decided that they were correct and departed. Was disappointed that they did no cleanup ( I did not vacuum up the drilling swarf, but as mentioned above, I did clean up most of it.
After they departed I installed the apps (and web site) on my phone and computer.
I monitored the charging of the batteries etc with due diligence and found that I did not believe that all was well.
Looking at the data, I told me that the batteries were being discharged and sent to the Grid.
I turned off the batteries and set the discharge level to 40% (batteries supplied at around 30%)...
Around 1600 (??) received a phone call from a Service Manager (Solar Battery Group) asking me if I was happy... told him I had shut down the batteries and WAS NOT HAPPY.
He said he would escalate to his teams that I was not happy.
Zilch heard from Solar Battery Group to this date (13 Sept 26).
In frustration I sent an email to the contractor informing him (11th Sept 26) of the above issues have not heard from him either.

339559: Very happy with my new 5kw/h Ambrion battery installed by Solar Battery Group at a very competitive price. The installation occurred without a hitch shortly after I ordered the battery. The installer was friendly and professional and installed it exactly where I wanted it. Everything is working as expected and I am able to monitor exactly what is happening with the battery and solar panels with the free SolarPlant app.
