Do not deal with these people, it's excuses after excuses. We paid a $700 deposit for a battery system in January 2026. Solar Link staff kept delaying any action, blaming everything from staff illness, 'we don't send out consultants to sites,' to us not sending in a copy of our power bill (we did, complied with all paperwork). To date they have… Read more
been refusing to refund our deposit, for zero reason apart from the director has to approve it. We have been requesting our refund for weeks without success. We would not proceed with an installation with these people even if they booked us in tomorrow- they have been deliberately obstructionist and daresay acting like an insolvent trader. You will be waiting for months for any installations with Solar Link and hit a wall of ineptitude when trying to discover why. Avoid and go elsewhere.
i havent had the battery installed yet and getting the run around already, they dont answer the phone and dont get back to you after leaving a message. terrible service Show details
been almost 12 months, system still not fully installed, had to continually ring company to follow up on installation and further work, installer had no idea what he was doing, continually calling manufacturer, left all his packaging and rubbish over floor, did not clean at all, had to come back to remount and rewire, then second electrician had to come out and repair wiring, i do not reccomend this company at all, stay away and go elseware, Show details

Great company to work with. They assisted with all the required paperwork and the Solar Link staff have been most helpful. The install went very smoothly. A couple of minor operational and setting requests were handled very well by the technical team, who were responsive, also followed up with me. The system is 6.6 KW with a 10 KW battery and UPS function. Already saving me money and gives me back-up power if the grid fails. Show details

Why I Recommend Solar Link for Solar Installations – The installation of my solar system by Solar Link went absolutely smoothly. how thoroughly they analyzed the conditions of my roof to determine the optimal orientation and tilt of the solar panels. I was immediately confident that I had made the right decision."
"Another plus was the comprehensive consultation I received beforehand. The experts from Solar Link took a lot of time to present me with different options and explain the pros and cons. They considered my individual needs and made me feel included in the entire decision-making process. The transparent cost breakdowns helped me clearly understand the financial aspects of the investment, and I never felt pressured to make an immediate decision."
"After the installation, I was thrilled with the user-friendliness of the monitoring system. I can track the performance of my solar system online at any time and receive regular updates about energy production. It’s fascinating to see how much energy I’m saving while reducing my carbon footprint. The app is intuitively designed and provides many helpful insights that assist me in further optimizing my energy usage."
"Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my decision to invest in solar energy. It’s not only an economically sensible choice but also an important step towards sustainability. I can highly recommend Solar Link! Their professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction is second to none. Anyone considering installing a solar system should definitely reach out to Solar Link.
This company Solar Link Australia was fantastic. Eildon Victoria – Did my research with a gentleman who recommends only credible solar panel companies. (Very important as plenty of fly by night companies out there who install cheap and nasty panels etc, and if you have issues and ring them they have gone bankrupt and you have no way to get them repaired). My guy gave me 3 options of solar companies he… Read more
recommended and after further research and quotes went with Michael and the team at Solar Link Aust. They impressed me from day one with installation dates, equipment choice etc. Kept in touch with me throughout the whole process and l was located 2.5 hours away in Eildon. Fantastic job from beginning to final installation. No damage to roof, panels all lined up perfect. Electrician work was also done to a very high standard, very impressed. Overall job was top class and tidy regarding wiring etc. I may of paid a little bit more than what those fly by night companies charge, but now l have top panels, great battery system and l know if l do have any issues in the future, Michael and his team will be there to help me. I've worked in the building industry and l can tell you this company impressed me. I have had my installation completed approx 3 weeks ago and still receiving calls from Michael at Solar Link to check if everything is going OK, and that's great customer service. Well done Solar Link Australia for doing a great job. Regards Craig Dunbar
Exceptional Battery Installation Service! – First and foremost, the customer service I received when scheduling the battery installation was top-notch. On the day of the installation, the technician arrived promptly, well-prepared, and with all the necessary equipment. Their professionalism and attention to detail were evident from the moment they started working. They took great care to ensure that the battery installation was done correctly, adhering to industry best practices and safety standards. I was particularly impressed with their efficiency and precision in handling the installation. I wholeheartedly recommend Solar Link for their exceptional service to anyone in need of solar or battery installation.
The worst warrety service I have ever recieved – Had the system installed in late 2022. It worked well for about two months. After that it went into fault. The warranty and after sales service it woefully terrible to say the least. I have been asking for a technician to attend to fix the system since Christmas. Outstanding Solar & Battery Installation – Couldn’t Ask for Better! – I recently had a 10.56kW solar system with 15kWh of battery storage installed at my home, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out! to answer my questions and explain the process in a way that made sense. The installation itself was a breeze. They arrived right on schedule, worked efficiently, and left everything spotless. I was really impressed by how neat and tidy they kept the site—no loose wires, no mess, just a clean, professional setup that looks fantastic. The system itself is a powerhouse—10.56kW of solar paired with 15kWh of storage is more than enough to keep my home running smoothly, even during peak usage or outages. It’s been running perfectly since day one, and I’m already seeing the benefits on my energy bills. I can’t recommend this company enough. If you’re considering solar and battery storage, look no further—these guys are the real deal. Top-quality work, a great team, and a system that delivers.
Solar Link and no one else – Michael and his team are our go-to people for anything Solar! You would do well to give him a try! Fantastic service and back up!

One vital question missed! – On 12 June 2024, I accepted a quote from Solar Link Australia to remove my old Fronius inverter, and supply and fit a new Fronius Gen24 5.0 inverter, at my residence in South Australia. On 15 June 2024, a 50% deposit ($1600) was paid to Solar Link Australia. The timeframe for the installation was given as 2 to 3 weeks after the deposit was… Read more
received. I was eventually advised of a delivery delay. After a visit from the electrician on 17 July 2024, I received this advice via email from Solar Link Australia, in part which states: “Our electrician [name supplied] has let me know that your inverter swap may not be possible as the area that you live in is apart of the flexible export region of South Australia which means that as your property does not have internet connection we would need to export control the system to 0kw per hour export which would mean that you are not feeding any power into the grid.” On 20 August 2024, $1215 was refunded to my bank account. When enquiring about a replacement Fronius inverter, at no stage was it mentioned that an internet connection is now mandatory for this brand in South Australia. What has been the impact of Solar Link Australia not asking the vital question for South Australian residents - “Do you have an internet connection available to use?” • Higher electricity bills due zero solar credits. • Financial loss [$385 of deposit retained for ‘futile’ visit by electrician - he was a decent bloke – unaware of the internet situation]. • Dealing with slow responses from Solar Link Australia. What can Solar Link do to remediate the situation? Refund the $385 paid as part of the $1600 deposit. In future, ensure all requirements for the installation are detailed, and not assume the internet is available for this purpose.

Support team non existent – I had my existing solar system extended by this company, and I wish I hadn't. I own a small business and thought this would help with the rising energy costs. Great company to deal with – The install went very smoothly and the staff at Solar Link have been very responsive and helpful. The 6.6kw system with 10kw battery is already proving to be very effective and we have been able to be self sufficient with power for much of the day. The App for keeping an eye on the performance is also very useful and work well. I'm very happy with the decision to go with Solar Link. Show details

Shame on you!! – I was contacted by your 'owner' [Name Removed] when requesting some information regarding a new installation of solar panels etc. Like any wise consumer, I am never one to accept the first 'deal' I receive. for me. After receiving 8+calls in 2 days to pressure me into accepting the offer, I decided to do a company review search. When reading a not-so-complimentary review, I was DISGUSTED to read the company's response publicly stating the customer had a 'mental health' issue, when there was no need for this to be mentioned. How VERY unprofessional!! As a mental health worker and advocate, I am appalled this was the approach taken by the company. (the review also indicated the customer would only receive a refund if their negative review was removed!! - transparency for potential customers?? I think not! Attempt at blackmail - I think so!!) Obviously, I will not work with, recommend or support this kind of business. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.
This is one single, cashed-up, female you will never have as a customer!!

Did a great job – Brand. Inverter Sofar Panels are DMEGC OR HT Size 6.6kw No battery. Inverter required replacing but took 86 days – Solar Link installed our Alpha ESS system early March 2023 & started solar generation March 10th. feed into the grid for which we would be paid. It is now June 17th & our grid connection is still not right meaning that surplus production goes into the grid & we do not get paid.
March 20th I notified our electricity retailer that we had solar now installed, & the retailer advised that documentation had not been lodged by Solar Link. March 20th I contacted Solar Link & asked for the documentation to be lodged. I was advised that a Certificate of Safety was required & an inspector would call. March 28th I advised Solar Link that I had not been contacted by the inspector March 28th Solar Link advised that they were still waiting for the installer to supply the Safety Certificate. April 11th the Inspector called & completed the site inspection April 21st I followed up with Solar Link now that the inspection is done to find out why our surplus generation is still not being recognized. April 28th Solar Link advised that they would now lodge the required papers with my electricity retailer May 12th I asked Solar Link if they have in fact lodged the papers with the retailer June 12th I contacted my retailer who advised that they have no record of paperwork being accepted & asking for a CRid so they could investigate from their end June 12th I followed up with Solar Link as to why this has still not been finalized and asked for the CRid June 14th Solar Link undertook to get back to me June 15th at the latest. They did not respond. June 16th I followed up with Solar Link as to what is happening. June 16th Solar Link provided a copy of the Certificate of Safety dated April 11th, but did not provide the requested CRid.
This remains far from satisfactory. My requests for the connection to be finalized in the manner intended is not unreasonable. We are three months down the track & things are still not right & the CRid that my retailer has asked for has still not been provided by Solar Link. I’m sure this process should not be difficult like this.
It’s an example of how a customers relevance evaporates once the bill is paid. It is also a strong reason why a final payment of maybe 10% - 15% of the bill should be withheld until the process has been completed satisfactorily, in the same manner as it is with a standard building contract.
Would I recommend Solar Link = No! If I could wind the clock back would I go ahead with solar by any supplier = No!
There is an absence of regulation in this industry to provide end user customers with adequate protection & support.
I have emails that I can provide in support of the factual data listed chronologically above.
June 20th update. The above Product Review went live June 18th. I received the requested CRid from Solar Link June 19th. My retailer advises that the installer (who contracts for Solar Link) lodged the required paperwork June 19th. Coincidence??
June 27th update. My electrickery retailer advises that the solar connection is now in place & backdated to June 22nd. The power of a Product Review post. It seems that this was never going to happen until I posted this review. ** Solar Link have not followed up with me to see if this has been completed.
August 14th update. July 27th I contacted Solar Link to advise that PV generation appeared well below expectation. July 28th Solar Link confirmed that the PV1 string stopped working on July 16th which means the system is operating at or below 50% capacity. August 4th AlphaESS state there are no errors being recorded August 7th the contract installer is said to have completed a site inspection & declared the installation was completed correctly & there are no installation problems. Our system has been working at about 43% capacity now for a month & no solution. I have asked for faulty components to be replaced under warranty - no response from Solar Link Australia or Alpha ESS.
I am keeping this thread up to date as this progresses. Consistently I will update with the outcome - whether it is positive or negative. All comments in this thread are factual & I can produce email evidence of all communication.
August 22nd with no contact from Solar Link I asked for an update. August 23rd Solar Link advised that Alpha ESS were sending their own technician & asked for update. August 28th with no contact from anyone I asked for an update from Solar Link who in turn asked for an update from Alpha ESS - who ignored the past request for an update. August 28th I lodged a complaint with the Clean Energy Council as this remains a system that is unfit for purpose.
September 5th received a text out of the blue from Alpha ESS advising that a replacement inverter was being sent. Solar Link Australia was unaware that this was happening. September 15th the replacement inverter was delivered (not installed) September 29th update. Our replacement inverter has still not been changed over. Alpha ESS are non communicative & will not reply to either us as the end user, or Solar Link who install Alpha ESS gear.
10/10/2023 update.
02/10/2023 I emailed Alpha ESS direct (instead of via Solar Link) to re-state that the replacement inverter was in hand but not installed asking for a date for installation. 04/10/2023 Alpha responded to thank me for my patience & advised that they were trying to allocate the job to an installer. 04/10/2023 I replied to Alpha that my inverter problem dated back to July 16th & asked how much more patience I am expected to excercise. 05/10/2023 Alpha texts me to advise the job has been allocated & an installer will make contact to arrange a suitable time. 09/10/2023 another text from Alpha advising installation will be 11/10 or 12/10 but the installer will make contact to confirm the time. 10/10/2023 the installer (Solar Link's installer) rocked up unannounced at 9am and swapped over the inverter. Fortunately I was home as the new inverter was locked in the garage. New inverter No AL7011023030162. Appears solar generation is now working but the data in the app is disrupted and requires some work by Solar Link & Alpha to bed this change down properly. 11/10/2023 the system appears to be working now. 11/10/2023 I lodged warranty claim for $240 being lost PV production for the 86 days it took to complete the repair. 23/10/2023 my $240 warranty claim has been paid.
In the interests of fairness I will update as necessary.

weeks or so I think, a little longer than the quoted 6 weeks. It took a few more weeks to complete the installation, perhaps not a surprise for evolving technology & regulation in a rural area. A clearer approach to an operations manual, & how to install & activate the app, & how to access the feed-in tariff would have been good. I guess I won’t know for a few months of billing if I have made the right decision, but I’m pretty happy so far.
Solar installation – Had Solar previously. Much smaller system but the house was a not smaller. Have added a big extension.
