to my property, costing $242. A technician attended and resolved the issue by doing what I had asked about. I contacted Solargain specifically because the unit is their product and expected some goodwill. Any plumber could have performed this job. The installation happened back in 2019/2020, so some details are forgotten. The installation went off well, and the panels work a treat, but the meter reader was Huawei, and after a month wanted access to my phone or it wouldn't allow me to access the app. Huawei has no right to access my photos or contact list, so haven't been able to use the app, and eventually deleted it. I went with Solargain because of their 20-year reputation, but the reality was a nightmare. They are just a Perth company using subbies to do their work unsupervised - Avoid at all costs. wasn't explained to me upfront.
To make things worse, the installation was a disaster. The sealants on my roof were a mess - I'm talking bird feathers and debris mixed in (see photos) - which led to water leaking into my house and damaging the ceiling. Then they sent the same unsupervised subbie back to 'fix the job' who lied to me about how he had conducted the work and had actually just gooped shitloads of silicone over the top of the dek tites, solargain then went into bat that it had been repaired.
It felt like an unsupervised crew just rushed the job, no safe systems of work, no fall protection very poor quality workmanship resulting in property damage.
It took months of back-and-forth and a lot of stress to get any acknowledgment. We’ve finally settled things commercially so I can hire a local solar installer to fix their mess and get the power output up to 10kw, but I’d never use them again.
If you’re looking at solar go with a local provider who installs it themselves, make sure they are not using a sub contractor and check the system and the roof penetrations before you pay them

do a 5 year service. All I get on their "customer service" line is "This inbox is full". They don't respond to emails, tneir website chatbox is just a bot - they are completely off-grid.
Follow-up · I had a SG representative contact me within a few days of posting this, so a positive result there FWIWW. In the meantime, I was able to find the original contractor who installed the system (not a SG employee). He has since done the 5 year service and everything is humming along.

I've recently replaced by electric HWS with a 270L IStore heat pump. Solargain were extremely professional to deal. They organised for the heat pump to be installed quickly so I didn't have to wait until January 2026. I'm very happy with my heat pump and the sales team from Solargain.
Follow-up · iStore claim that noise levels are up 46.6dB but they're actually more like 58-59dB (which is measured) and is quite noisy. I reported this to Solargain who responded with "Noise measurements in typical installations are much higher in real life". Solargain didn't organise for a site visit to check whether there was a problem with the heat pump - which I was impressed with either.

So far only had a couple of issues one was resolved quickly however the other is an ongoing feed in tariff which I'm not recieving. According to solargain its an istore issue which I have asked Solargain many times via phone and emails when its going to be resolved only to get from them that istore is working on it and they will compensate for this loss. Reason why I'm giving 2 star review is that when I got my solar system installed Solargain knew this was an on going issue with istore and purposely didn't disclose it to me. If Solargain was upfront with saying istore had this issue I may have not gone with this system. This issue is not isolated to me as well and to this day Solargain are still installing these systems knowing this is still ongoing. I'm sure just like myself they have not been disclosing it to there customer base until after installation. Seems like to me Solargain responds well to product reviews so after reaching out many times via email and phone, I'm leaving my experience here so everyone can see. Again I'm sure they will say they are working with istore putting blame onto them.

and resolved in the end, which to me actually does tell you a lot more about a company than when things just happen to go right.
Everyone on site was professional and friendly and they left they place clear of debris which as a parent of 3 young kids I appreciated immensely. Communications, instructions and information were all very clear.
The team even discovered and fixed an issue with my existing wiring (my existing hot water boost switch had been hardwired by the previous owner to deceptively always be on to hide that the old broken system was in fact far more broken than it appeared!). So again I really appreciate that the team made the effort to uncover that one.
Overall I'm really glad I went with Solargain, they may not have been the cheapest or the fastest, but when I look at the performance of my grandmother's system she got through a random cold call company a couple of years ago vs mine, I do feel very confident that I have an excellent system and that if I do have any issues in future that Solargain will still be around to sort it out and they actually will.

was not working and they would replace it under warranty. Nearly 4 months later we are still waiting for the inverter to be replaced. We are now paying high electricity bills with no resolution in sight. Each time we ring Solargain they say it is out of their hands and they have contacted Solar Edge who they use to install the system. They have said multiple times that they will escalate the matter & call us back. They never do call back!. $32,000 for a system that is not working and absolutely no customer service to rectify the issue!!!

correctly. Would absolutely recommend both iStore (the sales company) and Solargain (the Install company). Post Install Support, however, can be a little lacking and you may have to be either patient or assertive to get any response.

We were very happy with the location of the inverter and batteries inside the garage. It’s a very neat set up and with the batteries so slim it doesn’t affect parking our cars. They also explained the four stage shut down procedure if needed (I took photos of each stage and printed and laminated it to display in the garage) and they assisted in setting up the App. The system has to be connected to wifi all the time and we upgraded to the NBN. It has its own 2.5 GHz network.

Stay away!! I got my solar panels installed in Jun 2023 and Solargain replaced my original RCBOs with another brand. While doing another work, my regular electrician found out that the RCBOs installed by Solargain don’t trip…..essentially my entire family had been sitting on a time bomb for the last 2 years. replacing the RCBOs. I have sent the detailed electrician report, videos etc to Solargain asking for a refund but a month later, there’s nothing. Apparently, they are waiting to hear from their supplier.
The awareness of checking RCBOs to see if they trip is very low. Can I please urge everyone reading this to check in case Solargain has replaced your switches.
Don’t trust what they claim. Contrary to their claim that they care and provide regular updates on issues raised, they don’t as is clear from my example.
