Solax won't honour warranty.

published

My Solax inverter began to malfunction almost 4 weeks ago. Red light with an SPI fault indicated. Apparently easily fixed by switching whole system off and on again. Not so. This occurs every morning and sometimes the inverter comes back on anytime between 7 and midday and appears to work okay. After many contacts with Solax over 3 weeks they have blamed the DCS battery that is connected even though it has worked perfectly for 4 1/2 years. The battery won't work at all now as it doesn't get right signals from the inverter. Now Solax have indicated they will not replace the inverter under warranty and do not reply to emails. Very poor service and attitude.

Had two 5kw three phase Solax inverters installed by Arise Solar. One of the inverters failed just shy of two years later. Said “Grid Lost Fault”. It was inside the 5 year warranty so it was replaced but took them 2 months to do it. Two months of summer, not a happy camper.

Had a solax inverter installed it failed within a year, solax sent out another it worked for one day and then also failed. I cannot get the installer to come and fix it so I called a local electrician he has tried repeatedly to get it going with no success. Now my installer is ignoring me! Do not buy solax inverters it's an appalling useless product with zero help from the installation company.

Solax Inverter - broke down

published

I had my 5kw X1-5.0-T-N(AU) system installed mid 2019, it broke down with major fault stipulating Grid lost Fault - had salesperson inspect, then electrician, the electrician did a fault test and nearly blew it off the wall. Still waiting for replacement as it is under warranty. Over 6 weeks later, still waiting. No ongoing informative communcation from provider or Solax.

Unit last 9 days before major malfuction

published

My solar system was installed 31/08/2018. On Sunday 09/09/18 it stopped working stating grid fault and CT error. I contacted installer who analyzed the device and advised it will need to be replaced. So here i am with a new solar system that is not functioning due to the solax inverter failing. I would not recommend.

I have multiple solax inverter 6000 installation. Seven of them. But i need to use CT sensor to limit export because we dont have net metering. My problem is that, once my load is 1000W, each inverter creates 1000W, meaning it totals 7000W despite i only need 1000W. How to solve this problem? Pls help

Problems could be shade .. dirty panels.. a faulty connection between solar panels.. Check inverter log and do a comparrision of monthly records with your neighbour...location and direction of panels can contribute to lower generation compared to neighbour readings...which version of inverter do you have..mine is now a series 3 and delivers less to the grid comparred to the series 1 version...

I am having the same problem with my 6.6 kw system. This summer I am only getting about 20kw a day whereas the previous couple of summers I was easily getting over 35kw. This is with full sunny days, no shade and clean panels.

The installer came to my property and found all the connections in good condition and he said that the ladt thing to do is to restart the inverter and if it doesn't work the inverter need to be changed, after the restart it works completely proper as before and it reaches up to 44 kw/day, the propblem that inside the inverter was working only 1 line not 2.
It works properly now, hope it won't happen again.

From Memory you need to log into your inverter via the IP Address and place your wifi details in it for the internet... After that you then go to the Solax Portal and create an account and enter you S152XXXXX number so it can be accessed remotely.. You will also need to download an app for solax on your smart phone and use the details IE solax portal username and password you created when setting up account to access your inverter via the smart phone..
