Out of all the available programs, only one program dries the clothes satisfactorily. Spare parts are a nightmare to source and if you are lucky enough to find one, it’s expensive to buy and expensive to ship to you. Stay clear of this brand. This was my first Solt purchase and it is my last. Show details

I purchased this dryer three years ago. It’s my first heat pump dryer. I’m not going through another winter with it. It takes so long to dry anything and even after four hours and several cycles of drying the clothes or towels are still not dry. I’ve literally been trying to dry the same towels for three days now. I set it going and go to work or… Read more

bed expecting they will be dry but they never are without intervention by restarting it again and again. I just went to get them out after two consecutive days of auto drying because I want to dry something else but they are still damp. So for the third day in a row I’ll try again. It’s going. I just don’t have time for this. I honestly can’t recommend this dryer to anybody. The amount of time required to get a dry load far outweighs the energy rating.

Our old faulty vented dryer refused to die (15 years old still working) and wanted something more energy efficient to dry wet loads. the price of this dryer was hard to walk past so I decided to try it out. Had it for over a year now. In its early day it was fairly quiet during use, but now it does make slight scraping sounds but not noisy at… Read more

all just cheap sounding. Tested it with my energy meter plug it pulls around 800w which is half of the vented dryer on low heat pulls while also holding more washing. Averages around 1-1.5kwh per full standard load old dryer well over 2 kwh for less laundry.

It does a good job drying stuff and doesn't take much longer then the vented dryer to do it. But does it more gently. It removes a good amount of lint from the clothes and the clothes come out nice and soft, softer than old vented dryer.

My favourite cycle to use is the Mixed cycle seems to do the job. Bed linens is good too reverses more frequently. Haven't tried all the cycles but standard cottons always leaves the clothes damp need to use extra for them to be dryer and intense dry for the driest results. The sensor works well and I found I few tricks for dry cloths. Pants and other items with pockets sometimes didn't dry but turning inside out results in dry clothes. I always use dryer balls which hopefully helps moves the clothes around better for an even dry and improves softness.

Negatives

8kg? more like 6kg. 7kg at best I have a 9 kg washing machine and I have to leave quite a bit out if it's very full load. I also have a Smaller true size 5kg front loader and a very full load just about fills the dryer perfectly. It does take the big load it just tangles and creases a lot more and sometimes doesn't completely dry as limited room to fluff up and less reversing. I would compare drum sizes to vented dryers 6 or 7 kg models. Would be nice if it was just a little bigger so I can fit an 8kg load in it.

Has a drum light but kind of useless as it only stays on for 30 seconds and no button to turn back on, old model I looked up had a light button.

Bedding especially sheets seems to trap the pillow cases resulting in wet items also does attempt to tangle and roll into a ball but I think my use of dryer balls reduces this. And the bedding cycle reserve more so use that mode for best results.

The heat exchanger coils are a nightmare to clean, wish it had another filter to clean as recently that area and the possible remaining moisture has started to smell. I try to air it all out regularly.

Finally it doesn't contain all the condensation during the program, I notice it condensates around the panel during use and also dripped on the floor couple of times from the coil cover in very cold conditions it does pretty much disappear by the end as the cabinet warms up though. I feel this might be a result of cheap seals used, hopefully doesn't cause early rusting which in this price range wouldn't surprise me.

Overall a great dryer for the money and would highly recommend if on a budget, but don't expect it to last forever though as you get what you pay for but it might prove to be reliable. It also identical or pretty much same internals to the Aldi, Kogan, Esatto, Sieki dryers I've looked at probably made in the same factory too. Personally I might try a slight better one in the future that would match the washing machine I choose to get if the times comes.

Dryer stopped working 2 weeks after the end of the 2 year warranty, the replacement parts plus repair work was almost the same cost as the dryer. After 3 weeks the replacement parts failed and we had to buy a new dryer. If I could I would give zero stars. Total rip off, don’t buy this brand! Show details

I can not in good conscience recommend a SOLT heat pump dryer to anyone. I purchased this despite the significantly higher price than a vented dryer solely due to the energy efficiency rating. What I did not realise was that it would take on average 10 to 12 hours to dry one load of washing to a NEARLY dry level. I can accept a four hour drying… Read more

cycle if it's costing me less on my energy bill, but at the end of a cycle the clothes are still very damp. After one or two more cycles, they're less damp but half the time I need to wash them again because the length of time they've been damp has made them smell.

I'd get better results for less money and time by blowing on the clothes.

Do not buy – Horrible horrible mouldy smell. You have to make sure you get your items out as soon as it stops. Clean the filter after each use but it seriously smells like vermin have died in the filter. So upset as it works really well except for the horrible smell Show details

Love my Solt 8kg Heatpump Dryer – We needed to replace our old dryer and was looking at how to stop the condensation in our laundry. We found there wasn't much difference in the price for the Solt heatpump dryer compared to normal dryers. We've been using the Solt 8kg heatpump dryer for almost 12 months and love it. It gets used at least 3-4 times per week. You need to accept that… Read more ·  1

heat pump dryers will take longer to dry then vented dryers, but they are much more economical to run, are gentler on your clothes and best of all, no more wet walls and ceiling in my laundry when the dryer is in use. I love that you can just empty out the water canister and it amazes me how much water is collected after each load that would normally go into the air.

Don’t buy – We put everything through the dryer (family of 5). Number of times clothes are still damp after 3 hours +. Annoying having to empty water canister. If I had my time over I would have gone with the traditional dryer might be less energy rating but 1-1.5 hrs & my washing was dry. Show details

Follow-up  · We threw it out and bought a new haier vented dryer. Shout out to Haier brand never had an issue with any of their products. Might not have as good an energy rating but no issues. We put the same washing as we did for the solt. We clean it regularly like we did the solt. This one however I pop it on auto dry & everything is perfectly dry & smells… Read more

Excellent heat pump dryer – This replaces the Kogan heat pump dryer that shorted out after 2 years and 10 months. We have had this a week and far superior to the Kogan dryer whom had to constantly re dry the clothes/towels. Just leave on standard setting switch on then start. Clothes/towels perfectly dry and much quicker. Very easy to clean out the lint and empty water. A… Read more ·  4

Love my new dryer! – Finally found a great heat pump dryer that wont cost you an arm and a leg. Its the same size as my washing machine so it fit great and looks kinda like the new towers they have now. With a 7 star energy rating and no signs of steam aftermath, the heat pump does a great job, I just empty out the water and lint tray after every dry and its good to… Read more

go for the next round. It does a great job at drying heavy loads, as well as my waterproof bedding, super happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone buying on a budget. I paid the extra $55 delivery, but collection is free if you are able to transport it yourself. Its also now $588 with the black friday sale, what a bargin!

BAD Machine, TERRIBLE customer service – Very very disappointed at customer service not guiding us to resolve issues with cloths still wet after hours of operation. Ended up paying technician for a visit and take the machine only to find out that's there is nothing they can do about this and it happens quite often with these dryers. Not sure why Customer service hasn't notified that this is common thing Show details

Moisture sensor makes it stop even when clothes are damp – Heat pump dryers are much slower to dry than the vented dryer. Clothes still damp after 4 hour cycle.. This machine has a moisture sensor so even if you set a time, it will automatically stop when it thinks its dry. So I am line drying some of my clothes after the 4 hour cycle because it just wouldnt run another cycle when it thinks its dry.. If you are after a heat pump dryer, invest more money and get a really good one. Show details

Broke down after just over 2 years – EDIT- I have now had this dryer for just over 2 years. As of 29th December the dryer has stopped drying clothes with an error appearing that indicates an error with the heat pump. I have contacted Solt as the machine is just out of warranty by 8 months and they won’t even assist me in fixing a machine that should last longer than 2 years and they… Read more

do not abide by consumer law with consumer guarantees that apply even once warranty has expired. Very disappointed given this was a gift and cost almost $900.

I literally use it weekly especially with the weather at the moment and I put everything in it. The dryer is easy to use, dries efficiently and has a great energy rating. This is an excellent quality and priced heat pump dryer it has all the bells ans whistles you will ever need. I do find the dial for program selection a little confusing sometimes but that's a minor issue. My clothes, sheets and towels are always dried nicely and the dryer is very delicate on my clothes and linen. It can be a little noisy but not anything crazy. I would recommend and purchase again!

It’s great dryer should have brought it months ago – Have always been against putting sheets in a dryer but this one is great doesn’t screw them into a ball if using the anti crease option also like the sensor so no guessing how long to set the timer, would recommend this product Show details
