contact me to let me know about that. It finally arrived today and when I unzipped the cover to look at it, I was very disappointed by the quality of the pillow. It had broken bits in the foam. I’m not sure if it is normal, but I’ve seen a friend’s old foam pillow (another brand) that has broken bits and she says it’s because it’s about 7 years old. Brand new pillows shouldn’t be like that. For a pillow that costs $100, it is quite disappointing.

Our second Sommuto mattress – I guess the best products will draw you back to buy again. So when we wanted to get a queen mattress for our oldest son, we were happy to get another - despite some of the recent reviews below on customer service. I really don't know where these are coming from - with both purchases, I received excellent customer service via webchat, phone or email. We also got the pillows which are quite soft for a memory foam pillow, but feel great. The whole pillow can be washed which is quite unique.

mattress but they didn't have the pillows I had paid for. I contacted Sommuto via the chat app on their website and they 'promised' to send the pillows. No show. I did this again, as their 1800 number simply goes to messages, and again great empathy shown but no result. Don't fall for these guys even though mattresses are well rated. Service is paramount. These guys have none. Onward to fair trading for me.

Injured whilst sleeping - non-existent customer service – I'm a side sleeper and after the first few nights I developed acute shoulder pain and had to have both therapeutic massage and see a chiropractor to get some relief. sweating overnight and the mattress was much too hot to sleep on. I also found it much too firm for my comfort level (normally a medium) and was constantly rolling around all night shifting position, then going to work incredibly tired and run down.

I completed the online refund form and the problem was then in trying to get my money back - I was still waiting 3 weeks after it was picked-up. Sommuto do not respond to emails, almost permanently have their phone switched to messaging and they don't return calls. This the behaviour of a company that you can't trust and shouldn't deal with.

Sommuto, the one time I caught them on the phone, said the first weeks delay was as they didn't get confirmation of pick up from the Salvation Army, but the Salvo's deny that. It seems illegal for Sommuto to be donating mattresses to charity that they don't even own, as the mattress is still my property until a refund is paid. Summuto save money by having a charity do their pick-ups, instead of having the charity do regular pickups at the Summuto warehouse - this isn't so charitable compared to how other bed in a box companies operate. I had to threaten action with NSW Fair Trading to eventually get my refund - this shouldn't be necessary and I wouldn't recommend Sommuto to anyone.

Sleeping on back for the first time in years – It's been about a week but so far I'm really impressed, as a Mum of 4 I've never been able to sleep properly since the birth of my 4th and very large son. I'm the type of person who looks into things in detail before I commit and what sold me on Sommuto was the quality backing of their mattress that others such as Koala and Grey Wing did not such as Evo foam and approval from the Sensitive Choice program . The Evo foam they use has been certified by GECA. I am now looking at buying my 2 yr old a Sommuto single as he is ready to leave his cot. Oh and the customer service is pleasantly amazing and not something that is easy to come by these days. Couldn't speak more highly of the entire process from ordering, delivery and post purchase follow up.

But it was actually fun taking it out of the box. Once you get it halfway out of the plastic, it starts to expand. (Gently!)

And sleeping on it has been a joy. After the first few days, my back pain disappeared - I felt better than I had felt in years.

So yes - this is definitely a mattress I'd recommend. Couldn't be happier! And the follow-up from the company has been extremely professional. From the first morning, when I got a message asking me how I slept, to today's follow-up call when I offered to write this review.

You're a class act, Sommuto. Full marks for an excellent product at a reasonable price (about half what others told me I'd have to pay) and an attitude to product testing which is exemplary.

Customer service was amazing too, I ordered lunch time Thursday and it arrived lunch time Friday. It’s certainly softer than the koala mattress and I think very durable considering it’s warranty and make. If you’re in need of a new mattress seriously consider the Sommuto, At least for the 100 days... I don’t think you’ll return it!

coupon), Australian designed and made over some that were not and well 100 days to love it or not.

We came to the conclusion that 5 minutes sitting on a mattress and listening to someone try sell you something is close enough to the same risk as just ordering from the internet. I mean this is the future so why not.

Delivery was the only issue I had, when the courier had taken the items for delivery their ETA or options for delivery were outside what Sommuto were paying for and what the website claimed, it was an automated delivery booking system I was given a link to in email (from the courier) and the courier were estimating weeks before delivery.

This is ridiculous given its coming from Australia's second biggest city going to its largest city (Sydney) and both locations were well inside the metro area. - This is an issue with the courier, not the mattress or Sommuto.

After either calling or emailing Sommuto about this (cant recall which) Sommuto had spoken with the courier and had corrected the matter given they were paying for a much more priority service than they were offering me.

Dispatched Wednesday (Midday), Arrived Friday.

Not quite the 4 hour or same day delivery offered by a couple other in the box mattress companies however these I am told are packed as required rather than sitting in storage compressed which is not good for the product.

Unpacking and setup was quick and easy, there was a very slight smell from the mattress however this dissipated and was not overly unpleasant. A slight smell lingered for a short time however thats to be expected I guess (3-5 weeks?).

This mattress is much softer than our previous when getting in to bed, this was a welcome change, its very supportive and after getting use to sinking in to it a bit provided nights sleep that I've not had in a long time.

There is good a level of firmness that is supportive and I have rarely (none that I can recall) had any back pain when waking up since.

Much less disturbance when my wife decided to bounce about to flip sides.

We got ours in August, it was fine in winter and we were curious about summer, it does feel warmer than our previous mattress but is not a big problem given the quality of sleep once asleep and the level of comfort.

Also AC in summer fixes that!

Would happily recommend this given the little over 4 months we've been sleeping on it (at time of writing).

Would happily purchase another mattress from Sommuto given this experience.

Sleepless nights – I know you take a chance when you buy things on line but after reading all the reviews I thought it was worth a punt. It made us feel very unwell. After 4 days we couldn't stand it any longer and moved it to another room in our house while we waited for it be picked up and returned. This smell had not gone away by the time the mattress was picked up for return almost 3 weeks after we received it. They told me this was not a normal issue and that they would take the mattress back to their factory for testing. The mattress was also horribly unsupportive and caused me lower back pain. Getting them to pick it up was also a hassle with multiple delays and stuff-ups organising the return courier. I definitely do not recommend one of these. Spend a bit more and get a decent mattress instead of a piece of floppy foam with no support.

Cannot fault the company or the mattress – Who would have thought buying a mattress on the internet would be so simple and so successful. I suffer from fibromyalgia and my old spring mattress was making it even harder to sleep. Beard seemed to be suitable. My wife has always liked a very soft mattress, I can sleep on anything. Delivery was prompt and the mattress where easy to carry and unpack. The feel of the mattress was firmer with bedclothes on & for the first 2 days Judy thought hers was to firm. Now she finds the mattress very comfortable especially with the head and foot of the bed in a slightly raised position.
