I was watching a movie and all of a sudden, my tv screen went blank. I’ve gone to YouTube, done everything in order but tv won’t go on. Unplugged, waited 10mins, plugged back in, still nothing. Any other suggestions please????

You need to threaten them with the Australian consumer law. Reasonable expectation. (Look it up) The product has history of failing backlight. It’s repairable but not worth it unless they pay. Sony will try to wiggle out of giving you anything. At best you may get a discount on new model.

Just don't buy Sony ever again.. 2 years of light use and mine was dead. Sony is just cheap garbage now. Normally, with terrible reviews they ask " sorry to hear, how can we help? ". Not with Sony.. My tv will be going out to the footpath with a big advertisement on it. SONY CRAP DON'T BUY. SAVE YOUR $$$$

Thank you for your honest opinions, greatly appreciated. I have since found out that we had PRODUCT CARE in place so our tv is going to be replaced with a new one and 5yrs cover again so I hope it lasts longer this time. If not, we’ll change brands.

My KD43X8000G is just under 2 yrs old and is a great TV but I have just got a pair of JBL headphones but they won't connect via the Bluetooth. I tried my phone, also Android but can't connect also. My headphones will connect to my phone so not the problem. Is it the TV?

You need to have the Headphones in pairing mode at the same time as the Bluetooth on TV is searching to get both to link up. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get success.

I've just bought a Sony KD43X8000G so how do I make it work being an age e-ignorant?

Hi Tony, Yes , it’s a Smart TV so it likes to be connected to the internet . Best idea is to follow the start guide and ensure good reception. This is my second one and once connected it’s been great.

I am a little cautious for smart tvs. I have found the tv and blu ray performance(expecially upscaling old dvds) great on Sony so I have decided not to use the smart part...I am content to plug laptop in hdmi or chromecast phone...I still dont feel smart tvs have fast enough processors or enough ram for running apps.well. I think this tv picture performs well beyond the one it replaces which was 12years old and its control board went. I know..ridiculous but maybe I might have a point.

Thanks John & David. In fact I have been able to use the Sony for some time now after my Grandson provided help. Tony.

My tv connects to surround sound via an AUX cord into the back of the tv. If those are in check then go to Action Menu (button on remote) > Speakers > Audio System

Can I connect to wifi in this TV? Thanks. Kim email [email removed]

AbbeyP
AbbeyP

Yes. Hard wired (ethernet) or wirelessly. But if you connect wirelessly, youll have to reconnect each time you turn the tv on by turning tv wifi on and off then selecting the saved wifi. You dont have to input any password each time as it saves.
