Sony Bravia X8500B Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedHas anyone worked out a way to add apps to the Sony Bravia 8500 B series tv’s apart from the ones that already exists, trying to add Optus sports app
You can’t because it doesn’t have an app store. It’s too old of a version (of tv) to have that functionality
Yeah its a pretty useless TV overall considering the price that they were selling for - Use a chromecast and your mobile phone to cast just about anything

Hi, my Sony Bravia KD65X8500B (65") just went freeze with black screen, the LED light still on solid. No picture no sound. Can not turn on or off via remote or TV power button, other ward the TV just went dead with only LED light stay on. Have been working okay for about 3 years. I have use to own SONY Analogue TV before in the past and it was last for ever. Not sure what is going on with this SONY TV ? Very disappointed with the product such high price to purchase. If you know what wrong with it, please contact me back via my Email belem.bl@gmail.com Thank you, Be Lem
can I receive 4k UHD signal with sony 55 inch 8500B TV
I want to download Amazon prime vedio app in my Tv model KD65X8500 B, how can I do?
I’m not certain, but suspect that maybe you can’t do that with the Sony. (However I could be wrong.) Whilst it’s a great Tv, it’s not what I’d call very “smart”. I use Netflix on mine, which works very well.
You might need to use an additional external device plugged in via an HDMI port for Amazon prime.
Can not use Most of the apps, eg SBS On Demand, any of the free to air apps have to watch from iPad thru Apple TV. What is wrong? Are we receiving automatic updates or must I manually do this? If so, how to do a manual update?
Turn off automatic update of Sony software (to stop them deleting your apps). Whatever you have lost cannot be re-installed, but it may stop losing any more. Seems Sony would rather sell you a new TV.
My thoughts exactly, thank you so much
